We stayed here for three nights while visiting Florence. It's a nice, modern hotel not too far from the center of town. The room was a good size, with nice amenities, such as safe, small refrigerator, some nice design elements. The staff was very helpful. But overall, there were many things to dislike. The bed, while large, was very hard. I'm a side sleeper & it was just too hard for me to be comfortable. I do like a firm mattress over one that is too soft, but I felt like I was sleeping on a box spring. The bathroom, while spacious, afforded us NO privacy. The designers really went to town on the bathroom, sacrificing function for aesthetics. The door was a swinging glass panel with a gap around it. I suppose visual privacy was achieved, but acoustically it was annoying, especially in the middle of the night if one needed to use it while another slept. The door itself creaked, & the toilet flush was quite loud. Our final issue was with the dining. Breakfast was not included, but, as Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members, we did get a daily $10/person credit to be used towards any food or drink. It covered our daily cappuccinos, but not much else. We had dinner there one evening, as I wasn't feeling well, & the choices were limited & the food quite bland. We had breakfast the next morning before we left, & it was quite underwhelming, particularly given the price of €16 pp. The hot selections were some watery scrambled eggs, rubbery, overcooked mushrooms, & some greasy, fatty bacon. There was a cheese & cold cuts area with three cheeses & some salami, prosciutto, & mortadella (I think...I didn't have any meat). Some different breads to toast, some fruit, & juices. They did make us cappuccinos as requested. To be blunt, I've had better breakfasts, in variety, quantity AND flavor, at other Marriott properties where it was included. The ones where they typically do charge extra, like at Marriott Marble Arch in London, were far superior in every way. Overall, I'd say the bad slightly outweighed the good & we will not be staying here again.
