Pros: We had a wonderful stay. Dinner was fantastic- the host even made a vegan dinner for one of us! Right around the corner from the rose garden- I would stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the historic atmosphere and location. Located in the old quarter made it convenient to see the town. Our hosts were most wonderful and helpful. They recommended a great restaurant. A most enjoyable stay. About an hour and a half to the airport so coming or going, a good place to stay over.
Cons: The WiFi was not available in our room but was in most others and in the courtyard.

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great in the room and the location is good.
Cons: Breakfast is minimalist for the price, we would at least expect to have eggs for example, it’s only ham, cheese, croissants and fruits... if you’re a bit difficult like me food wise, i advise you to bring your own food for breakfast or eat at a place nearby
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about our stay. I didn’t realize it was a bed and breakfast. It felt very luxurious and intimate. They were helpful while giving us our privacy. The room we got was huge. The croissants at breakfast were the best Inever has.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I decided to spend one more night the moment I saw the property. The property is a charming complex with three buildings and gardens. It is run by a couple who are the most kind and helpful. The location is great, close to restaurants and also the medieval old town. I highly recommend this place for couples and families, and individuals as well. I will definitely go back there, and just to enjoy the property is worth making a trip there from Paris.
Cons: I liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was magical! We interacted with Olivier and Veronique mainly, who were incredible hosts. The service was excellent, the room was sparking clean with a very cool mix of modern and medieval. After a walk around Provins, we decided to have dinner on property and 4 course meal was absolutely delicious, intimate and very reasonably priced. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious, plentiful and fresh. My wife and I were both impressed with every detail of our stay. Highly recommend!!

Pros: This is a gorgeous property. The restoration is beautifully done, with amazing attention to detail. The grounds feel like walking through a park. The decor, comfortable and stylish. Common areas inviting and cozy, offering seating areas with plenty of relaxation options. Our room made us feel as if we were royalty. So many thoughtful touches! Bed was very comfy. We enjoyed dinner, offered at the property and prepared by our host. We were able to dine outdoors. Meal was amazing, to match the ambiance. It was the perfect way to spend our final evening in France! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our very gracious hosts!
Cons: Nothing!

This is an oasis, and the owner is " made" for this business. We are lucky she opens her home for others to enjoy.

Cons: No shower curtain
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, convenient location, off street parking, fantastic breakfast, our host Nicole very helpful and friendly. Train the Paris Gare De Lyon from Melun only 23 mins
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our hostess made us all feel welcome from the moment of arrival until we left the next morning. She gladly took care of a load of laundry we needed in order to complete our trip w/ clean clothes (even folding them for us!). When asked, she made arrangements for dinner at L'uisine (it was a Sunday evening, so a closer and more 'French' / non-chain restaurant didn't occur to our host to recommend). I'd had concerns about staying, 2 couples, in such close proximity but sounds did not carry from room-to-room and only modest amount of noise came from sharing the one bathroom. Beds were comfortable, hosts were so quiet we wouldn't have known they were there. Breakfast on the terrace was the highlight of 3 days on the way to Paris; while 'continental', there was PLENTY to sustain us til lunch. This was our least expensive night's stay, thanks to sharing the suite between two couples. I would definitely recommend Les Magnolias for a couple or close friends...even for a couple of nights. P.S. Glad we got to meet the cat :-).
Cons: Was surprised at the distance from Fontainbleu. The most direct GPS route had us going through several small towns (including Vaux le Penil). Because the speed limit was low, it took longer to get here than any of us had anticipated. On the 'plus' side, Vaux Vicomte was very near, insuring that we were able to tour it first thing the next morning before hitting the road for Giverny.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in an upstairs apartment as part of a family home, facilities were excellent rooms comfortable and the host and hostess very welcoming. Pros: Everything. Best breakfast of our 2 week trip! In a lovely conservatory, on beautiful dishes. Our hostess Nicole was amazingly kind and welcoming. She settled us in her upstairs suite and then offered to drive us to the train station 10 minutes away so we could spend the evening in Paris. Then she picked us up late that night and drove us home. We had a very comfortable stay there.
Cons: Nothing

It’s in a quiet, leafy location on the river Seine but within walking distance to a train station so it’s a perfect spot for those wanting to explore Paris and the rest of the Ile de France region without staying in the busy city. Pierre kindly took us to Barbizon as it’s not accessible by train or bus. A generous continental breakfast is served on beautiful crockery. We hope to return to Chateau Rouillon d’Allest for a longer stay next time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming building and decor and charming helpful hosts. Comfortable accommodation. Good quality and value restaurant in walking distance
Cons: Breakfasts were a bit basic for the quality and cost of accommodation and could be made more interesting with some fruit and/or cereal available.

Chambre d'Hôtes La Bourbelle - Fontenay-Trésigny - Building
10
9.4 Excellent (68 reviews)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, amazing surroundings, extremely nice owners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was perfect. An authentic French property with animals wandering the grounds (Cats, Peacock!) and in the adjacent garden/field (Donkeys, Sheep, Goat, Hens). The property is owned by a young French family, and the host met us on arrival. She was so lovely and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was also fantastic - an array of different french dishes each day, including croissants and 10/10 homemade french toast. The view from the suite looks out on the back field with the donkeys which was lovely to wake up to. For access, we had a car - so for Paris, we drove up to Torcy and parked at the Gare, which was about 20 min away then got the train into Paris. For Disney it is again a 20 minute drive and we parked there. The Suite consists of a huge main room, a separate toilet, further separate bathroom, and kitchenette with fridge and microwave (and cutlery/plates provided), therefore space in the Suite was excellent.
Cons: I was reserved initially when the Suite was joined to the main kitchen area (just as I am antisocial), however there was no disturbance at all, and they are happy for you to come and go as you wish!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host was very gentle and kind. The room is in a beautiful old mansion in a family and animal friendly atmosphere. The room is huge and it has its own bath and kitchen. The garden is enormous and there were donkeys grazing near the house. The place is really beautiful! We were amazed and felt comfortable there.
Cons: The construction - as well as the structure of the bathroom and WC - is old. And the bed sheets were probably not dried in the tumble dryer, since the smell was not so pleasant.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house, room and location! Nice breakfast and a very helpful host.

5.5 Okay
Pros: Quirky
Cons: Poor air conditioning, no natural light, smelt damp
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfortable; excellent shower; loved the terrace.
Cons: Breakfast for 18€ is expensive (standard fare); we've recently had better for half the price. Closet space is minimal for 2; no drawers anywhere. Bed takes ¾ of the room, so a bit crowded for working.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very kind and supportive
Cons: Room not extremely big,but overall comfortable. Breakfast choice not huge but good quality
6.8 Good
Pros: Good central location. The hotel says it welcomes pets, but don’t think they really enjoy having them stay. (we took our dog) other than that clean, spacious rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very reasonably priced for all that you get and many things not always available in French boutique hotels: individual room temperature controls with strong AC, very comfortable bed, good shower, large towels, in-room tea/coffee service, elevator and private, secure parking. Add in very nicely decorated rooms and lobby, inside/outside bar, a tasty, bountiful breakfast and professional, helpful staff and you have a real winner!!
Cons: Hard to criticize; I am an experienced European traveler, observant about flaws and found none. However, be aware the hotel is in the lower town (as are most in Provins) and a fairly steep, continuous climb up the hill to the upper town where most of the tourist sights are located. It was no doubt worse than usual because we were there during an unusual heat wave. We're in our 60's/70's but even the young people (20's) we were with found it tough going. We drove up the next day in our car after waiting (in-season, weekend, mid-day) 50 minutes for a shuttle bus that is supposed to come every half hour. We heard the shuttle, at least from the town center, is not particularly prompt....also doesn't run all year, nights and maybe even during the sacred dejeuner hour? Hard to get good information on it; the provins.net official site still has 2016 "programme" for the schedule! If without a car and you don't want to walk up, I recommend a taxi up then walk down. None of this is the hotel's issue, of course; just adding it for information.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice b & b but literally in the middle of nowhere. had to drive at least 15 minutes for a restaurant but having said that we found a great Italian restaurant, La Cucina in a small village (just google restaurant when you are at the property and you will find it)The owner for some reason did not tell us about this restaurant when we asked.
Cons: The breakfast was ok but very boring. Both days just jam for on the bread, no cheese, charcuterie, eggs

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Maison d'Hôtes Stella Cadente in Provins, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Cesar Tower and Église Saint-Quiriace. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location and beautiful property.
Cons: Honestly, the hotel is beautiful but the execution is a bit poor at times. Our room looked a bit different than the pictures, with just a bathtub planted in the middle of the room (no shower) - this meant you were forced to take a bath to wash yourself. The room itself was tiny and terribly hot. Breakfast wasn’t ready at 830am and we had to wait until 9am for bread to arrive (annoying as we wanted to leave on time), it took 30 minutes to order a glass of wine in the restaurant the night before, etc etc
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A delightfully quirky establishment and filled to brimming with interesting stuff. Helpful staff and a really nice breakfast. Comfy bed and fantastic room in a quite and peaceful part of the town but close enough to get to restaurants and the sights very quickly.
Cons: Being British we really enjoy a nice cup of tea so maybe some rather more basic brands could be available although to be fair the brands offered do suit the establishment. There wasn't t any milk and we like milk in our tea and a teaspoon would have been useful. Minor niggles in the great scheme of things and easily remedied so more feedback than anything.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff was really kind and available.
Cons: Shower “hydro massage” was the reason I booked the room. And it was a disaster, jets were not working, and water was flooding the floor of the room. The pictures were so pretty, reality is a bit different.
7.5 Good
Pros: Restaurant good. Room very comfortable. Lovely building and grounds.
Cons: Electricity cut out just before breakfast so no coffee available. No-one there to fix.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is very nice. Good Location and very nice Homely feeling. Nice size of the bathrooms and a Good view from the room.
Cons: It was very hot 36.C approx and i didn't expect that they would have air conditioning ,however they must keep some fans or coolers for backup in situations like this as it was really hot in the room and i couldn't enjoy as i expected. A suggestion for future guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible interior design in an old house, very quiet and very good restaurant
Cons: The boutique hotel has an unique charm and character which makes the stay unforgettable
7.5 Good
Pros: They have tried to give it a special atmosphere, with theme rooms (ours was Moulin Rouge) and decoration, and breakfast was being served instead of the common buffet, which gives this hotel something extra
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was not only beautiful to look at, it also had a wonderful ambience about it with a terraced area for relaxing and or eating/drinking. The interiors were of beautiful taste reflecting a bygone era. Our room was large with a fabulous ensuite both with a view of the town. Most importantly the staff were exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel itself is situated perfectly between the medieval city and the village centre. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: Nothing not to like
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Set on large park like grounds. Themed room well done. Lovely dinner prepared by owner with their own smoked salmon best ever. Good array of toiletries.
Cons: Room small with two suitcases. Steps up to room but two young ladies carried cases up for us. Street works - poor owners - made difficult to access as did long gravel drive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautiful, staff great and food very nice. Must visit. Just two things: There was no hand soap and some left over old body cream and shower gel. Breakfast is nothing great.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was very beautiful, big and clean. Good facilities overall. Main house was beautiful and with nice view.
Cons: We arrived late (we told this when did the reservation) and was received by an attendant who gave us a paper and said: "your room is on that direction. Key is on the door." No further instructions. We got there, quite dark and silent. Key was on the outside of the door. Felt unsave as hotel is in a rural area and all opened. We could not close/lock the door. I tried to call the reception for 30 minutes with no answer. Mu husband finally went there and there was nobody apart from some drunk guys playing jokes. We had to figure ir out ourselves how ro lock the dor and it took 50 min as there was a trick. Breakfast was until 10h. We got there at 10h and receptionist look at us and was reluctant to let us in. In the end we got the breakfast and it was so so... nothing special, not so many options. I was surprised that they charged 8 euros for my 1 yr old who did not ate anything.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Freshly made French toast
4.5 Okay
Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Total lack of any bonne homie. Language may have been a barrier. His persistent presence standing over us during breakfast was almost rude. This once gem of a location(as shown on website) has diminished the garden was a mess and even though we arrived on time we had to telephone him to get in 20 minutes later. In fairness he had arranged to move the booking by one day but that was a long time ago and I think he had forgotten we were coming. Three large dogs on a gate that was almost fortified was not a good start. When we visit our friends in Avon we will certainly not return.

Pros: Excellent value, congenial host, lovely roses, good location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very good bedroom inc antique furniture with a modern and v clean en suite. Fullsome breakfast with more than we could ask for.
Cons: The outside of the house, stairs and balcony should be cleaned and the wood preserved. The wild garden and parking area could be tidied up. The lockable main gate could be maintained to make it less noisy to operate late evening
7.5 Good

9.3 Excellent

Cons: B. The breakfast was excellent and the salon very comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Jean-Pierre was a good host. I broke my glasses and he was very helpful in some minor repairs. We would stay there again. Close driving distance to Fontainebleau. Not enough restaurants open was the only issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was tranquil and secure, in a lovely garden. Breakfast was lovely and Jean-Pierre was attentive and helpful. Without his recommendation we would have missed Chateau le Vaux de Vicompte!
