This is a delightful hotel, beautifully built and furnished. An excellent service to their outstanding restaurant in the picturesque village Cirq Lapopie. Please can we have decaffinated coffee at breakfast and fresh milk.
Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. Fantastic views of the village across the valley. Handy to trip around the region. Very useful shuttle to the village for dinner, but plenty of space to have a relaxed evening at the hotel with a glass of wine, cheese and bread.
Superb location with a lovely view across the river to St Cirq la Popie- hotel had only been open a couple of weeks so everything is very new with modern showerrooms and confortable large beds. Good breakfasts ( at extra cost) served inside or on the terrace and a shuttle bus to take you to the hotel restaurant in St Cirq for the evening ( return when you want ).Very good value for money and a very peaceful setting.
Very interesting design, nice view og good Breakfast. Find service advising and giving a Taxi to Restauranst in the nearby Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Much to see in the area. The shower was to difficult/hard to open. They ought to fix it so it worked permanently.
Room was a bit out of the ordinary - fun - and a patio. no eggs or fruit available with breakfast
excellent service , fantastic bath , ample breakfast
Staff were very accommodating It was a Monday and most services, including the restaurant, were closed.
The owners were very helpful, answered all our questions about cahors and recommended a wonderful restaurant as an alternative to the terrific on at terminus since we had eaten there on our first night. Though not luxurious, terminus is coomfortable and clean and I would recommend it to anyone visiting cahors.
The very nice bathroom and politeness of the staff. Breakfast was too expensive.
Very warm welcome: staff very friendly. Easy walk into Cahors city centre. Reasonable free parking. Dog-friendly! Bar and restaurant very comfortable but beware wine prices! Pity the "beauty" of the downstairs areas was not repeated in the bedrooms, at least not ours! Room quite small; room not completely clean - bath taps needed good scrub or replacing, dust in corners and on radiators etc. For such an average room the mini bar prices were MAD! 6 euros for a small gin - we don't object in more 'luxurious' surroundings.
Lovely hotel with good room and central location
A nice welcome. Clean, comfortable. Great restaurant. No.
For the person travelling by train, this hotel is just a few minutes from the railway station. We had a large, lovely corner room. The food in the gourmet restaurant was excellent.
Helpfulness and friendlyness of staff. Clean and interesting rooms with a balcony overlooking sunny trees.
Lovely, old world chqrm qnd frinedliness qnd helpfulness of stqff. All just fine
The staff were friendly and efficient the room was comfortable and the food was very good
The proximity of the river and being able to walk to the bridge from there. Also, getting a panoramic view of the city from the hill nearby. Both days we were staying there, there were men working in the room directly above our own and making a lot of noise. We were not warned about this, nor any apology was offered as a matter of courtesy.
Hotel staff was very unfriendly.
Easy to get to and very near the town
central location.staff pleasant We were not told how noisy night traffic would be .Shower would not work properly. We were led to believe breakfast was included in price.
The Hotel was centrally placed and within walking distance of Cahors town centre. Staff were welcoming. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed having a small balcony overlooking the river Lot.
Excellent very courteous and knowledgable staff. Wonderfull cuisine. A very relaxing place to stay. None
A happy return we last stayed there in 1964. The room had a wonderful view over the river. Visit to the wine cellar was interesting but it would have been better if it had been possible to taste some of the vintages. The Lady at reception, Christelle deserves to be congratulated on being exceptionally helpfull. She helped with an onward booking and did more than anything to encourage us to return to the Chateau. The service for a pre dinner drink, about 7pm, was very slow. We were told the staff were having their dinner. Service at dinner was also very slow. This was mitigated to some extent by good service from the Sommelier. The overal service and facilities need improvement to justify the price.
restaurant quality no
The impact the building and grounds has on you on arrival, the grandeur of its position, the professionalism of the staff, the quality of the food and service. Not one thing!
The staff were wonderful and the location spectacular. We were very well received and our room (indeed the whole building) enjoyed a commanding view over the valley beneath. The gardens and surroundings to the hotel are wonderful, the swimming pool is (potentially) enormous and the location is lovely. Our meal on the first night was first rate. In between major meals, the service is a little sporadic - it isn't easy to get a coffee - and casual drinks are rather overpriced, even for a hotel of this stature (eg 12 Euros for a gin and tonic). The menu is magnificent but extremely limited - if you do not feel like dining opulently, there is no alternative to an 80 Euro dinner (this is quite a common problem in France), and the menu does not change at all from day to day. A smaller snack menu would be useful - though the hotel will provide a separate choice of food for children if you ask. The swimming pool was out of order for our visit - a major blow. This is an excellent hotel, but you need to go forewarned.
The beautiful spot. The castle on the great hill overlooks the valley. Great chateu open fully to the guests. Large outdoor pool. The restaurant is too expensive and the quality is not suberb. The bathroom needs a repair.
Within walking distance of town centre and places of historical interest. Overnight secure parking on site. Instructions on where to find hotel not clear
Proximity to station and town centre Standard of room and bathroom could be much better
Size of the room. Despite being on roadside, well insulated from noise
It's closeness to town, very good breakfast, friendly staff Internet access only worked intermittently.
staff extremly helpful and polite . Breakfast was excellent. Good sized room. Fixtures and fittings sligthtly dated but functional.
We Loved the location in Cahors. We were welcomed by a very good manager Pascal and he did everything to make our stay in the hotel and in Cahors very enjoyable. We liked everything this hotel suited our requirements perfectly.
Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good Location
good location near city center hotel is completely outdated and feels very 70s.
good parking and easy to find, and easy walking to the centre, staff very helpfull, and spoke English, which did help!!
The assistance provided by the staff was second to none, they were always cheerful and friendly. Breakfast, although limited by my having the condition ceoliac disease, still provided suitable options. I supplied by my own bread, and was able to select from boiled eggs, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, spreads, tea, coffee and juice, and the staff new what I had to drink very early into my stay. The guidance provided during the national strike and also the referrals to local restaurants were spot on. I would have really appreciated tea and coffee making facility in my room. Also an iron and ironing board.
Convenience of location, reasonably priced, certain acknowledged standard
Very Helpful staff, good parking, very easy to find
Nothing The hotel was further from the city centre than advertised. The air conditioning had been broken for 3 days. The temperature in the room was 30 degrees plus, a small window let in mosquitos and we were badly bitten. The room was cramped with no room to open our suitcases. We had a reservation for 4 nights but left after 1.
Good staff Top floor no lift
Staff were very pleasant. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was very disappointing and poor standard,Dinner seemed to come from microwave.
Convenient for our needs at a fair price. No
Campanile Hotels are very convenient for leisure or business. Adequate parking and easy access from car to room We also found the restaurant evening meals were really good. We particularly liked the buffet. Keep that going, please I am coeliac. I asked for a gluten free diet (bread etc) if possible, but the hotel could not supply this. Therefore I found the continental type of breakfast a bit limited, and hot breakfast was not available.
We only stayed one night and found the room very comfortable
Convenient location to the town
The bufffet meals As previously mentioned absence of English news.
we had a room adapted for disabled. room very small and bed also and uncomfortable
within easy walking distance of the city, restuarants and attractions. Very difficult to locate from roundabout. No directional signage up whatsoever. The toilet pan was disgustingly dirty, toilet cleaner had not been used for ages.
Very pleasant room. Staff friendly if not 100% efficient. No problem taking in our pets - for a modest charge. Entrance from a grubby main road is not obvious. No restaurant except for breakfast, though neighbouring Kyriad hotel restaurant very good and welcoming. Well out of the city, with nothing of interest within walking distance.
The hotel serves a good continental buffet breakfast, including ham and cheese in a small but pleasant dining room. I coul not connect to wifi and reception is closed after 9 PM. No restaurant for dinner so had to use either Kyriad or McDonalds. It took us ages to find the hotel because the address is so inaccurate. It is on the "Cote Des Ormeaux" just off the "Rond-Point De Regourd" just passed the Kyriad hotel, roundabout exit marked "Centre Ville"
Bathrooms not very clean (white walls were very dirty) and shower could use a good scrub. Walls paper thin and cleaners were banging around cleaning rooms from 7am on a Saturday morning with no consideration for those still sleeping. Could hear the noise through air plugs!
Easy to access , good parking.Signoutside should be more visible Poor ventilation of the toilet ,and no soap ,only liquid(in sachet) cleanser provided
Having to go to the Kyriad for an evening meal.
Nice and Clean,
The breakfast and cleanliness of the room The flashing sign which went on and off all night opposite the room.Difficult to find, poor signs
Very friendly staff, very quiet and relaxing, lovely fresh baked croissants for breakfast and hot water for your cup of tea. Carpeted hallways so less noise. Well recommended, Safe parking.
meals. bathrooms not very clean. [floors]
English speaking reception staff My wife needed to use the second pillow. but this is normal in hotels
The booking in and booking out processes were simple, prompt and efficient. The room preparation and provisions were satisfactory
The room was in good condition, great to have complimentary biscuits and tea. The evening staff are not as friendly as the day staff
One of the best buffet breakfasts we have had in France. Excellent selection and quality. Evening meal was also very good, and good value too.
helpfulness of staff distance from town centre
We thought the restaurant was excellent
While this hotel is a little way out of town and not near many restaurants (except Macdonalds over the road) it has an excellent restaurant itself which serves good regional food at reasonable prices. The staff were quite helpful. The room, though smallish, was adequate and even had tea/coffee making facilities. The free wi-fi did not reach our room however we were able to get good reception in the lobby which was ok
This hotel is really a motel to stop for a night, it is not a place to stop if one wishes to visit Cahors. The restaurant is good and service there is fine. Most of the staff was pleasant with exception of one rather unfriendly, unsmiling receptionist. The rooms are rudimentary as one would expect in a cheap motel; definitely not two star hotel. Wifi worked fine.
good clean pool. food reasonable priced and quality ok
Excellent food. Good service in restaurant Internet not working in room (landlady made efforts but un-successfull). Bathroom partly integrated in bedroom. Breakfast too expensive related to content (but that is apparently general for French hotels!)
Type of hotel, personnel, room design, dinner unfavourable ratio quality/price
Food fantastic, rooms brand new.Lovely lakeside location in picturesque village. Swimming pool tiny more a plunge pool.
Owner and his family are all friendly. The restaurant is excellent. I would like to have bathtub as well as shower.
Excellent service. Quiet rural location. Modern fittings. Gourmet food. Easy parking. Outside dining. Easy to find.
Overall quite good. Breakfast very mediocre for price charged.
StAff was lovely. RestAurnt was superb. Beautifully presented innovative menu we could not have been more pleAsed
very pleasant hotel, clean, efficient, good position and an excellent restaurant.
Nice location, suitable for day trips in the area. Breakfast at 12 Euros per person is overrated.
Both the hotel interior and the bedrooms are attractively furnished and we were made to feel welcome upon arrival.
Landscape, operativity of the staff, good marking of a way to hotel, closeness to interesting visit places
Arrived a bit late and in the dark, were offered a room near the swimming pool which looked out at a wall, so asked for another room ( and was offered one a few metres away). Woke up to find that the hotel was in a very pleasant location next to the river. Clean if a bit stale. Relaxed atmosphere. Probable due a refurbishment at some time
The hotel was clean and comfortabale with pleanty of parking. We were in the block across the road instead of around the pool and gardens. Our room was modern and quite spacious. The bathroom was very clean. No noise. We ate in the restaurant as there was no other choice unless you go by car. The food was ok, nothing memorable. Would stay again as it is a base for hiking, boating and canoeing.
Hotel rooms well laid out very comfortable and great location. none
Wonderful location in the mountains near the river, very helpful staff, superb local food in the restaurant.Only 5 km from Cabreret.
In summer, hotel would have been ideal. Not much going for it in the Autumn/Winter.
We were very comfortable during our 12 Night stay
Location, right on the river in a lovely little village. The pool area to sit and read. The evening meal was not 'gourmet' but very tasty. Rooms are basic, like a motel. No internet access. Reception staff on check in a bit impersonal, others ok.
It was in an a beautiful setting and the staff were both helpful and friendly
Fantastic location on the River Lot. Simple but lovely hotel gardens, grounds and swimming pool area. Triple, family room, exactly as expected. Good value restaurant cooking local food. The pool bar closed too early!
