courteous and helpful staff at reception and free internet use the only thing that could be improved is the service and coffee at breakfast
A beautiful period Hotel, in a central Location in the town centre. Great Atmosphere and very relaxing accomodation - with luxurious and prnate decoration. Very comfortable with easy parking right outside the hotel ( chargeable - but very convenient)
Design and interior
it's a beautiful hotel, well located in the center of the city, near the Duomo, with a very large room and a very comfortable bathing room
The quality of the rooms, the breakfast on offer was exellent and the position of the Hotel in Pontedera was great everything was walking distance, shops bars and station.
Excellent position in downtown, good access and parking. Warm staff.
Location close to business premises.
Nice hotel, outside the city, a beautiful quite place. Breakfast small but ok. Rooms very cosy in tuscan style, restaurant nice colored and furnished. I felt comfortable there. Staff was kind and considerate. Better to arrive there during the day because it is not so easy to find.
Clean and spacious room for our family of four - one huge double bed and two little singles in two rooms, with a clean, well-equipped bathroom. Not sure why the hotel has decided to charge 2 euros per pool towel. I have never heard of this practice before, and frankly, it's stingey.
Food, small size, location and staff. Nothing.
The staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The food at dinner was delicious, particularly the 'tagliata di manzo'. The building has lots of charm and was rebuilt in typical Tuscan style. The hotel is not easy to find, as it is not in a main road, but that just adds to the charm.
the staff were extremely helpful, we arrived back at the hotel at 12.15 am from a concert and the lady laying tables for breakfast offered to make us a coffee, the whole place was very clean and friendly, i would recommend this hotel
Nice location, nice staff, good restaurant, good rooms
Good quiet situation None
our room was spacious and we ate at the restaurant. Our meal was good and the grounds interesting to walk around. We felt a little less welcome than at most hotels. Arriving after a long hot journey in the late afternoon it would have been nice if our son was permitted to use the pool. I appreciate safety issues, however it was not late, he is water smart and we would have been more than happy to supervise.
Staff were really helpful and friendly
Friendly, welcoming atmosphere; nice location - convenient for our purposes as a one night stopover on our way south from Pisa airport; comfortable rooms and helpful staff.
Comfortable and large room.
Clean, convenient to Pisa airport though not a typical awful airport hotel.
It was very quiet, the bathrooms are new and very clean. The bed are made for a perfect rest which I needed that day. Breakfast was typical italian breakfast which is alwys poor.
We had a wedding in the heart of Tuscany to attend. The hotel was ideal since we were not in the hotel much we just needed somewhere cheap. It was clean, comfortable and very handy for the train station to get to Pisa airport and Florence in the opposite direction although if travelling more into the country of Tuscany a hiring a car would be a good idea. Pontedera was a very pleasant town, a locals town not touristy. More advice for tourists e.g. leaflets, taxi's, transport, recommendations of good restaurents etc or staff with better English to explain these things.
It was clean, comfortable and good value for money!
When I made this reservation I though I was staying at La Pace in Pisa, next to the station and close to the airport
Room's confort The breakfast was a little poor
Price seemed like a good deal. There was some evidently used female underwear left in the blanket closet.
Very friendly staff that speaks english very well. The room and the facilities were great. Its a bit outside of the "main land" which was relaxing for us.
Second time we stayed here. Quiet, easy to get to so many places. clean, nice staff.
The staff- they were really great,so freindly and helpful we were sad to say goodbye -Hotel very central for our purpose Room could have been a bit more comfortable with 2 easy chairs
The hotel interior is really authentic Tuscan-Style. The house has many corners, stairs, little balconies, hidden seats, etc. It's perfetcly suited for a relaxing stay - with bad weather in the house or with good weather in the garden at the pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful, most speak english or other languages. The included restaurant serves a small but very good and house-made selection of Italian and Tuscan cuisine - either in the garden (at the pool, very romantic!) or in the lower parts of the house with a very nice vault setting. The location is perfectly suited for trips to Pisa, Florenz, or Lucca (45min.). The 4-lane state road is very close, but far enough away to be in an absolutely quiet surrounding. The only (small) issue is about the breakfast: For Italian standards it's quiet extensive for German standards its limited in case of fruits, cheese, meat and also variants of bread and pastries. However, cheese or similar can be ordered on request, the staff always tries to accomodate you.
It was a unique setting and property. We would recommend staying here and cant wait to return one day this time for longer.
Beautiful old villa in Italian garden with lovely rooms and views. The atmosphere and staff were charming and the breakfast was fantastic. Staff were happy to accept my feedback on condition of bathroom. It is a bit hard to find if you do not have GPS. The bathroom was old and bath/shower were not in best condition.
The accomodation was excellent, the setting and facilities were outstanding, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff
The hotel and grounds are excellent lovelly swimming pool with ample beds and chairs, staff very pleasant and rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast could be better, kettle and hot drink facilities for rooms would be nice.
Fantastically, friendly staff. Beautiful garden and swimmingpool. Really all luxury! The home cooked regional lunch and dinners are an absolute treat. Rooms nice and spacious. Everything you need or want is there. The personal attention by Paola and others made our stay a very special experience.
very clean.Very kind. Certainly no 4 stars. No terras next room (room at 1st floor). Poor breakfast.Far from everything
Friendly staff and peaceful surroundings to relax in No choice for dinner menu
Wonderful place, beautifully designed and landscaped. All in very good taste. Staff was lovely. Rooms are not too big but pretty and comfortable, with an annex for children. very clean. breakfast is decent. In summer time the pool is lovely.
Wonderful staff, wonderful ambience and scenery. The room was magnificent and the food good. Our SatNav had some trouble in finding the place. I think the address on the web site could be better.
Swimming pool, surrounding area, location Unsufficient and not fresh breakfast, very small and badly organized room, no bar - only minibar-not sufficiently cold, staff not available after breakfast, no night staff
Paulina and her mother, Roseanna, were wonderful hostesses and very personable. With home cooked meals and it's location, it's a winner! To save some money, book directly through them via email.
The classical Tuscan style of all of the hotel. Very nice pool and gardens. Breakfast was very basic, considering the room price. Pity about the warehouse next door, but not too intrusive.
The staff were excellent and very helpful particularly in calling me after I had inadvertently something behind. I hated the size of the rooms, it was like being in a rabbit hutch. No chair, only a kind of stool under the dressing table. The minibar hanging on the wall was somewhat incongruous and the tv package did not reflect the number of British travellers who must stay there. Access to the hotel coming from Florence was horrendous and after coming back from the Boccelli concert having to drive a long way towards Pisa in order to access the hotel was very unsatisfactory.
Beautifully decorated hotel, very new and well-finished. The breakfast was good and we received a good welcome. The directions on the e-mail and on your website were very poor as lacking in detail. A map would of been of use as well. This created a somewhat stressful journey late at night to locate the hotel. The gentleman on reception was very helpful in giving directions but it's not ideal having to ring from a uk mobile as expensive and this could have been avoided by giving decent directions.
The staff was WONDERFUL. We were lost and they called us on our phone to give us directions at 2:00 AM. When we checked out, we left behind in our room, an envelope with 100 Euros, and they called us back to pick it up. Everything was clean and modern, a great discovery. The hotel is difficult to access if you are comming from the opposite direction on the autostrada. However, the staff is very helpful in giving directions.
E v e r y t h I n g !!!
Room was clean and facilities quite good. Hotel is convenient for flights from Pisa airport.Staff were generally helpful, for instance getting the tv to work properly in our room. No English channels on satellite tv! Shower head needed looking at as sealing ring was hanging loose which made the spray uneven. The hotel can only be reached on one side of a dual carriageway which means you have to travel a mile or so down the road to the next exit and come back up the other way if you are travelling on the wriong side of the dual carriageway. A shorter but similar exercise has to be done to get on the right side of the road to get to Pisa airport in the morning. An alternative entrance to the hotel would be extremely useful! I booked this hotel specifically because it had a restaurant, which had been recommended on trip advisor. We were aghast to find that the restaurant was on summer shut down for three weeks starting the night before we arrived!(Breakfast was still available in the morning). There was no warning of this on the Active hotels website or the hotel's own information website. If I had known this I would have booked at another hotel. I asked for some kind of compensation on the room rate because of this, which the hotel management declined, saying that the website states that the resturant is closed every Sunday night(forget about the three weeks!); the website that I accessed from the uk doesn't say anything about this. By the time you discover this it is too late to cancel the room without a one night charge. We had to use a restaurant in the adjoining service station area (I didn't want to have to drive out anywhere) where my wife contracted food poisoning after eating some lasagne that had been standing around for a while. Great end to the hoilday! Don't think I'll use this hotel again but if you want to phone up and check that the restaurant is going to be open before you book if you want that facility!
excellent front desk service, very clean hotel and room and excellent restaurant good location when traveling on the highway none
It was very good value for money, rooms good and a good central location, if you could find it easily, which was not easy The access off the duel carriageway was extremely difficult, I would not stay at the hotel again or recommend it, which is a shame as everything else is so good. I would suggest a series of signs from Ponderea would help
