Pros: Great staff, clean quiet room, ample parking.
Pros: We loved it here and will stay here again everytime we need an overnight in the city! It was perfect for catching the Larkspur ferry as its just minutes away. This made our Super Bowl activities that much easier. The owners were fantastic and made us feel like family. Can't wait to come back!!!
Pros: The Marin Lodge was charming and clean and completely redone recently. Rooms were cozy and comfortable with nice accommodations and we will be back!! Would HIGHLY recommend staying here!
Pros: Great customer service!
Pros: The location is great - close to downtown San Rafael. Also, it is a good value for your money, since other hotels seem to be way more expensive. The hotel manager was also a nice guy. It was a nice quaint hotel.
Cons: Main problem was the hot water was not on when we tried to take a shower in the morning. Apparently they were doing some work in our unit, and jumped the gun on turning off the water ahead of time. Also, the phone did not work as well. The actual room was also pretty small - basically a studio room.
Pros: The staff was very kind with my very late 11:30pm check in. Also they have free water bottles! The room was elegantly decorated with IKEA stuffs but it was comfortable. We liked it very much. We would definitely stay there again.
Pros: We loved this place. We would have stayed longer if we would have found it sooner. the bed was comfortable, the room had all the amenities you would expect; TV, hair dryer, microwave, iron, etc. They have a free continental breakfast of blueberry muffins and fresh fruit and coffee as well as complimentary sodas and bottled water
Cons: The parking was very limited but I believe it was due to the construction which was apparently for remodeling as we noticed a distinct smell of fresh paint. It was a little far to drive from local eateries unless you are familiar with the area.
Enjoy your visit to San Rafael with a stay at Marin Lodge. You'll have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The staff was incredibly friendly and the happy hour after a long ride on complimentary bikes was a nice way to end the day.
Cons: I missed having a hot tub or sauna.

Pros: Everything was conviently located. Everything clean. Staff was very friendly especially lady at the front desk with short black hair! Wish I would have payed attention to her name but she was very friendly. Hot tub was great.
Pros: /The room was large and neat with an outdoor deck. Bathroom was warm. Must have radiant heat. Nice decor. Desk clerks very helpful.
Cons: Spots on the rug. No refrigerator or microwave. Did have use of the one in the breakfast area. All fabric items were wrinkled. Could not figure out the Keurig coffee machine. Alarm clock didn't work.
Pros: Very nice hotel for the money.
Pros: Great place to stay. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. The location was very convenient. I would stay here again.
Pros: this place delivers little extra in every way…
love the ping-pong table
Pros: The hotel is beautiful! The beds are comfortable and who doesn't love breakfast included.

This hotel was 3 stars and a place to sleep. It met my intentions and needs for a 1 night stay with an excellent price for the bay area! :)
Pros: We simply needed a place to stay between Napa Valley and Marin Headlands. This is a great location with brunch, yoga/cycle studios, juice shops and more all within walking distance. It's right near the highway- perfect!
Pros: close to the ferry
Cons: Very cheaply put together compared to other Marriot Courtyards I've stayed at.
Pros: The service from the staff; front desk, housekeeping. All of your people there are friendly and enthusiastic to provide exceptional service
Cons: The distance from the front desk to my room. Even after agreeing to give me a room near the lobby, my only request, I was given a roomote than halfway across the hotel, past the conference center. Also it's time to upgrade the bathroom to glass showers
Pros: Very courteous staff on at the reception
Cons: Very rude blond bar woman. Passive aggressive attitude, careless, disinterested, unattentive.
Pros: Close to everything we wanted to do.
Cons: Not exactly the easiest of places to find but once located all ok- in very congested area.
We spent very little time there - got in late, slept, got up and left. Good experience overall, but really didn't use any of the hotel's amenities other than the bed and the shower.
Pros: Comfy and quiet
Cons: No included breakfast for the price paid for the room
Pros: The staff was very helpful.
Cons: I think was great all around.
Pros: Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Free wifi and parking.
Cons: Room had a slightly odd smell (like heavy perfume).
Pros: Quiet, clean, good direct room access, attractive surroundings, convenient location
Cons: room rate was at about the limit of what I could comfortably afford to pay.
Cons: I booked two rooms for my family. They arrived before me and the front desk insisted that there was only one room booked - although it looked pretty clear that there were two rooms under two different names on the reservation. (The hotel was not full.)
generally excellent place to stay - central to Marin and easy trip to SF either by ferry or car.
Cons: navigating television - could be easier with broader premium choices.
Pros: Location, quiet, well appointed and friendly/helpful staff.

Pros: Large lapping swimming pool was a nice surprise
Pros: Bed was great. Room big. Good breakfast. Huge pool. Right off freeway. Would stay again.
Cons: No elevator. Sink/vanity not enclosed in bathroom. No bar.
Pros: For several years we have been using Best Western Corte Madera Inn as a favored place to stay when visiting the Bay Area. We like the shopping that is convenient to its location. San Francisco is just a hop away down the 101 and across the Golden Gate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, also well appointed. Staff is courteous and helpful, and the free breakfast at the restaurant next door is really good.
Cons: Some of the rooms sometime seem a little dated, but this is not a deterrent to us. It's a great location.
Pros: Convenience, price
Cons: Motel-style set-up.
Pros: Front desk people were great we got in a little late. They kept the pool open for us which was a lot of fun. Then we relaxes by the fire pit.
Great hotel just outside of San Fran.
Cons: Rooms were quite big and comfortable. Many extras on the propert in an excellent location.
Cons: Seedy, bad smelling rooms. Did not feel clean. Never again.

Pros: Great central location within easy walking distance to shops and resturants.Wonderful outdoor space for entertaining guests.Very friendly and helpful owner.
Cons: No central heating or air conditioning.
Pros: This charming place was really easy to find and I can't wait to stay there next time I go to the San Francisco area!
Pros: This hidden gem is perfection--truly like something out of 'Victoria' magazine. If you need a break from the big city (San Francisco is a short 1/2 hour away), this is the place. Close to fun shops and great eateries in a classic CA neighborhood.
Pros: Access to garden
Cons: Very basic. No A/C, no fans, cant open window. Not planning to stay there again, not recommend.
Pros: I liked the area and the privacy. This was unique and not like any standard hotel room. Also, I was able to have my small dog stay with us.
Cons: There was some difficulty for us since my mother uses a walker, and she needed to negotiate one or two steps.
Very cozy, private, intimate room.
Pros: Privacy, and ambiance.

Pros: David the dining room greeter was so pleasant, friendly and cheerful. Most people don't even notice him, but I think he is doing a great job.
Pros: Hotel staff was nice. The food selection was good . Bed was comfy and room was clean.
Cons: Asked for our bed to be made while we were out, but all the housekeeper did was put a pile of towels on the couch. We had to call later to ask them to make the bed. It may seem like a small matter, but don't think it's too much to ask. Nice to have a tidy room after a long day.
Pros: Very quiet and always appreciate the breakfast and happy hour!
Cons: Wish the train was operating to Sonoma. Still a few months away. That will be awesome.
Pros: Nice place for families
Cons: Couldn't control air conditioning to get colder
Pros: The room design, hotel layout, coy ponds, happy hour, breakfast, pool, honor bar style shop.
Cons: It's a little run down and the bar closes early. It seems like it should be open later on weekends. Especially when there are no other options near by.
Pros: Spacious Rooms
Cons: Cost, long walk to room
Pros: The indoor waterfall and koi pond, part of their tropical atrium, are really unique. They have substantial snacks in the evening and great breakfast.
Pros: Clean, quiet and comfortable! Great happy hour and full breakfast
Cons: To holder is behind the user! Awkward!!
Pros: Nice location and a beautiful lobby. Quiet. Very large rooms that can comfortable fit 4 people. Liked the complimentary treats during the midday to evening. Each room has 2 rooms, each with its own hdtv. Comfortable beds with nice sheets. I used the fridge, which worked very well and kept my drinks very cold.
Cons: It was obvious it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. The facility was dirty. Literally. There was urine on the seat and toilet paper in the bowl. The backs of earrings were on the counter and we only had one set of towels for a room meant for two people. I called to have it cleaned and it took them over an hour to send anyone. And when they did, after I'd called a second time to remind them, the maid merely flushed the toilet and left without cleaning anything.
I requested to have my room switched but the person at the front desk said they were fully booked. So I was out of luck and decided to stick it out.
Later that night I realized the ironing board and doors to the armoire were broken. Yet another disappointment.
The next morning I was out of the room by 9:45 am. I came back just before 3 pm and found my room hadn't been cleaned. I waited over an hour before the maid knocked on my door. She walked in, made the beds, took away the wet towels, and within 10 minutes she left. She never touched the counters, vacuumed, or disinfected the bathroom.
Then, to no surprise by this point, I went to use the complimentary microwave and found it a mess. It had obviously been used many times and never been cleaned. Luckily the first maid left a roll of paper towels by mistake. I cleaned it myself.
If I stay here again, I'll have to remember to bring Clorox bleach, a sponge, rubber gloves, paper towels and air freshener. I'll keep my usual tip to cover my extra expenses.
And it's 2015 Embassy Suites. What hotel doesn't offer complimentary wifi?! Especially at nearly $200 a night.
Pros: i like the hotel, it was beautiful, I enjoy the water fall, coy fish, the hotel grounds very nice. the breakfast excellent...
P.S. I like being on the firs floor. that provided us a great access to the beautiful scenery the hotel has to offer.
Cons: I did not like the room. it was not what I expected from a beautiful hotel.
the living room had a big conference table, it fell like I was at an office, that made it very uncomfortable, we wanted a private place to hangout but with the big table and office chairs, it was not possible.
we ask the staff " a guy" for the room to be change but the staff member, that we ask, he told us we need it to pay an additional $50.
I you can see as was not away in business nether was I meeting with other people for biasness.
the staff member made a remark that my room was book by you guys and that they could not change any!!!
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Cons: Internet wasn't free for me.
Pros: It's a clean, well-kept facility with a good location. The bed was comfortable and the price was reasonable.
Cons: The structure magnifies noise, and the hotel doesn't discourage it, with loud parties and conversation continuing past midnight. The fitness room is small and one of the four machines broken throughout our stay. A calamity one morning canceled the highly touted breakfast, with no acknowledgment or discount by the hotel. Internet access is $10 per day. It's fine, and I confess that I haven't stayed in a better full-service hotel in the area, but there is no reason to look forward to staying at this property.

Pros: I thought they did virtually all of the little things well:
The check-in and check-out were courteous and efficient.
There were enough towels, and they were of good quality.
The shower worked well, had plenty of hot water and was high enough.
The bathroom amenities (soaps, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and mouthwash) were very nice.
The iron and ironing board worked well.
The windows, curtains and HVAC system worked well enough.
Despite being close to the freeway, the noise level was acceptable.
The bed was large and the mattress was new and comfortable.
Cons: It's both minor and personalized, but I found all four of the bed pillows strikingly uncomfortable.

Cons: Our laundry was stolen and the staff was less then helpful in trying to locate it or at least see lif and when it was taken
Pros: Good customer service despite a overbooking problem, yummy breakfast offered (not complimentary).
Cons: Overpowering smell in the room likely from cleaning products. Hotel overbooked and we were downgraded from king to double bed.
Cons: I didn't like the adjacent doors that are now added to the rooms. Made me very uncomfortable during the night. There are latched on them, so I wasn't really sure if the door was locked.
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: They did not honor the pricing booked through Kayak. They charged me over double the agreed upon rate. They have a policy to not honor pricing if you don't book within their time window.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facility is very well maintained and clean. The room was really nice and bed was comfortable. Fitness center was spacious and high tech - cold bottled water was a bonus.
Pros: Comfortable room with very friendly staff. We enjoy the stays very much.
Cons: My room is a bargain with almost 50% price of the regular room. Very good value but the room faces I-101 with highway noise. You may want to check with the hotel for better rooms.
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Older hotel, overall I don't think I will ever go back
Pros: I travel for business and have stayed in many, many hotels over the last few years. I've never written a review for a hotel until today. I was very impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the Four Points San Rafael. The staff was happy to be there and happy to help me in whatever way I needed. Whether it was extending my checkout time significantly or getting me 4 bottles of extra water or faxing my papers out for me, it was done with a smile. The service here made all the difference to my experience. The room was also very clean and well kept. Thanks Four Points!
Pros: Everything was good. It is nice to be able to count on this hotel to give good service every visit.

Cons: Expect much more for the price
Best to book online, staff are obviously trained to quote highest price possible with no power to negotiate.
Pros: The shower was amazing and the beds awesome
Cons: No hot water at all on Friday morning waited over a hour and still nothing but ice water in the shower. When hot water was available shower w as awesome
Pros: The location worked well for me, close to Sausalito.
The housekeeping staff did a good job with the room.
Cons: Hotel is dated and the carpets and furniture are worn. No restaurants in the immediate area. It is overpriced for what it offers. Far better to stay a bit further north - better value.

Pros: We arrived very late and the two women who were manning the front desk were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and just lovely.
Cons: We wanted to sleep until about 9am, however, at about 7am Sasquatch began pacing upstairs, stomping back and forth for hours. We didn't get the rest we needed for our upcoming long drive.
Cons: Room had a poor Ac . Just too hot
Pros: I liked that is was clean and quiet and that breakfast was included.
Pros: The Marin Suites is next door to the Book Passage bookstore where we see many famous Authors visiting to sign their books. The location is only minutes from three malls and the freeway to Napa or San Francisco.
Marin Suites Hotel puts you within a 15-minute drive of Golden Gate Bridge. You can get a workout in at the fitness center or take a dip in the outdoor pool. Rooms feature kitchens and free WiFi.
Cons: TV didn't work first night. Toilet leaked on floor never fixed. Very small room. Old and smelled musty. Doors warped didn't open/close well.
Marinwood Inn & Suites in Novato, California is nestled in a serene Marin County neighborhood, bordering Wine Country with an abundance of attractions accessible in every direction. Our non-smoking guest rooms and suites welcomes families, vacationers and business travelers, featuring free WiFi, complimentary breakfast, outdoor heated pool, an on-site restaurant, guest laundry facilities, and all the modern conveniences and services that will accommodate both your overnight or extended stay visits.
Pros: Walking path. Backed car to rear door made easiest unloading and loading ever.
Cons: Normally, you would say a stones throw from the freeway, but so close, I think you can throw the stone over the freeway. Heavy drapes muted sound somewhat. Bathroom tiny. Price was way too much for what it is. Should be half.
Pros: Beautiful spot, overall atmosphere was really pretty. Within an hour from San Francisco and close to the 101.
Cons: There were quite a few bugs in the room when we came in. A spider and then a few mosquitoes, kind of a turn off.
Pros: Room was clean, complete, well-organized and spacious. Colors were cheerful, but not obtrusive. Service was good. Clean bedding was delivered instantly at 8 o'clock in the evening when an open bottle of water tipped over on the bed. No problem. Restful space. Breakfast was simple, but adequate and fresh especially for self serve buffet. Hard boiled eggs were tender and done perfectly, a rare achievement. Open space with mature plants and trees out the big window. Quite nice.
Cons: Gluten-free options for breakfast, please.
Pros: Clean room
Cons: Not enough free channels on tv.
Cons: The experience would have been better if I slept in my car. Not only did I not get an opportunity to sleep after 3 calls to the front desk to shut down the college party next door, but the next morning the front desk person said he could do nothing and insinuated that the reason I did not sleep was my own fault. The room was equal to a motel 6 as was the service. Seriously, if you think about staying here, stay in your car and save a couple hundred bucks! Worst hotel/motel/camping experience ever!!
Pros: The room was as was expected and a great value for the cost. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our room faced the garden. I liked that we had 2 entry ways, one lead to the parking area and one lead to the garden. We loved the swings from the center tree. My son had a fantastic time swinging and meeting other children. It was a bit cool to test out the pool but we are looking forward to another visit to try it out. Some people have said that it could use an update but I honestly appreciated the character. The swanky restaurant was fantastic and had live jazz music. The location was excellent and met our travel needs while playing in the area.
Cons: The breakfast was simple but enough to start your day.
Pros: The grounds are nice. Lots of trees, flowering plants, some hammocks and a fountain behind the restaurant/pool. It's close to the interstate, which can be convenient but some rooms might experience more traffic noise than I did (it wasn't bad for me at all). I liked the look of the room and didn't have a problem with noise though I've read that some people have. Depends on your neighbor, I suppose. The bathroom is small but I didn't mind. There's no bathtub, if you're interested in that. Robes were provided in the back entrance closet area. I didn't use the internet but the TV worked fine. Ate at the restaurant one night and they let me take my dessert back to the room on a covered plate with silverware and a cloth napkin, then said I could just leave it in the room rather than take it back to the restaurant later. My meal was tasty and the restaurant's environment is relaxed and attractive with a pleasant staff. I was there in the off-season so it wasn't flooded with people -- that might make a difference, according to some of the other reviews, but I can't say personally. I enjoyed the stay and would probably stay there again if I were in the area.
Enjoy your visit to Novato with a stay at Inn Marin. Guests can indulge in facials and enjoy American cuisine at Rickey's, which is open for dinner. An outdoor pool and a bar/lounge are other highlights, and rooms offer up nice touches like iPod docks and pillowtop beds with premium linens.
Pros: Rooms are nice, no bath tub, stand up shower only. Didn't bother us at all. Staff was super accommodating on asking if we wanted upstairs or down. Which is rare . Downside nothing is in walking distance from hotel. They have a very nice complementary breakfast from 7-10am.
Pros: Continental breakfast had good food and was very nicely presented.
Cons: Poor ventilation in the room. No pool.
Enjoy your visit to San Rafael with a stay at Villa Inn. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 7 AM and 10 AM. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The room look like the picture online. Very clean and spacious! Loved that it had a refrigerator and microwave! Comfortable bed and pillows! Plus loved the green features, lights, toilet and shower. Beat value for bay area accommodations that I could find!
Cons: My initial roomed smelled like cigarette smoke but was quickly changed.

Enjoy your visit to Fairfax with a stay at Fairfax Inn. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails and surfing/boogie boarding, and free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking.
