9.6 Excellent (197 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Peaceful, lovely host, beautiful setting, excellent quality and value.
Cons: Nothing, everything is wonderful!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A short drive in the countryside just outside Bayeux, A great location for visiting the town, the Tapestry museum (or the WW2 Normandy sites if you're into those) and the whole region. The accommodation is in brilliantly converted farm buildings, modern and comfortable. We stayed as three friends over two rooms, each room with own bathroom and toilet. The breakfast was abundant and delicious, The swimmer among us enjoyed the heated pool, and we all enjoyed the wifi. Catherine is a generous and friendly host who has all the info about the region.
Cons: Nothing at all to dislike - absolutely lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, great breakfasts, amazing grounds and accommodations. Amazing that all the modern conveniences could be tucked away in the classic stone buildings of a country farm estate.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property was very beautiful, very clean and comfortable. The classic French breakfast of croissants, coffee, fruit, home made apple juice and other delectables made the start of the morning wonderful. Catherine was gracious, deeply knowledgeable and tremendously helpful with planning our visits to WW II sites and restaurant recommendations. Due to the expected city-like problems (traffic, crowds) for the 75th Anniversary of Operation Overlord on June 6th, we decided to visit two weeks earlier. When we return in the future, we will definitely stay here again! Thank you Catherine for a wonderful stay!
Cons: Not applicable. We enjoyed everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an enjoyable stay at this premises, Catherine is a fantastic host, and if you want an enjoyable peaceful stress free break this is the place, bed were comfortable which is important for us. And If you want to see the real style of France this is the premises. The swimming pool was a bonus and location is great, not far from Bayeux and all the D-Day sites like Omaha beach point de hoc. Truly a great location. Top Marks for Chambres d'hotes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Katherine is very friendly & helpful! Very clean & tranquil setting!
Cons: Slow WiFi
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Catherine was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were quiet and peaceful
Cons: Not real close to stores; however, very good location to visit war sites.

Pros: Buitiful location excellent rooms warm welcome delicious breakfast. Parfait.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and quaint B&B located in the countryside. Our hostess was friendly and showed us around this great property. The room was big and clean with a large bathroom and comfy beds. A perfect size for a family of four. There were nice places to relax outside in the garden and even a pool to cool off at the end of the day. The breakfast was fresh and we had a great opportunity to meet our fellow guests.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked that the property because it had a lot of history. Also the the room was huge with an equally huge bathroom. Carl had a very good knowledge of the D- Day landings. He and his wife were very friendly and obliging.
Cons: The fact that it was a distance of about 10 minutes from any cafe's. This is not a criticism because some people appreciate that, but for us we would have preferred something closer to facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Karl and Sabine were gracious hosts. They welcomed us (along with their dog Newton) upon arrival and each night we returned to the chateau. Karl told us the great history of the chateau and was very happy to answer all of our many questions. The breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented in the dining room and very satisfying. It was like a dream waking up each morning to the sound of birds and cows in nearby pastures. We found this stay to be the highlight of our trip to France. Thank you, Karl and Sabine, for opening your home to us. We truly felt like guests in this magnificent chateau.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hospitality from the owner, provided us with 2 superb evening meals and ample breakfast in the morning. All meals were extra but well worth the cost.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I enjoying meeting others who can share their stories and culture. Carl and Sabine were the perfect host and hostess!
Cons: All was excellent!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host was funny, kind and helpful. The property was comfortable, quiet, unique and beautiful. The food was AMAZING!!! The best food we had in France!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay in the Chateau. Perfectly located near all D-day sights. Our castle room was nicely renovated, with most respect to its history and original materials. We really appreciated the personal approach of the owners and our daily chats. Breakfast was superb with local products. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 5 Days in the Chateau and every day was like staying with Friends. Carl and Sabine are Lovely Hosts and Made our staying unforgetable. Carl is a very Good Cook and Made us two times a dinner, which were one of the best dinners we ever had in France. The room was very nice, the bed was good and the breakfast was better than we have expected. We will definetly come back when we will be in normandy again. But don't forget that this Chateau is NOT a hotel but a private B&B, which is run by Two People and NOT by a Stuff of 10 !!!!!! So please behave like visiting Friends and you will be treated like ones, too! Thank you very much, Carl and Sabine for your hospitality!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect for visiting D-Day sites, which is main reason we booked. Other major plusses included charming setting, history of the Château (it was occupied by Germans, an American tank busted the front gate, etc), and amazing quality meal by the host who is a very skilled cook. My 10 and 12 year old kids really loved the place, too. Especially the dog that runs around the place, Newton.
Cons: Not much negative to say. The chateau is a little worn in certain areas and it might lack some of the high end comforts you might expect from an expensive hotel, but it is those features that give the place authenticity and character and makes for a more unique and memorable vacation. We loved the place for the price that we paid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guest house had absolutely everything we needed and was a fantastic central location to explore the Normandy region. Wish we had time for a longer visit. Two things to note: You WILL need a car for this location. The family who run the property have a very friendly dog. If you have allergies, this might be something to consider.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a charming place to stay. It was peaceful, comfortable, historic and the grounds are stunning. There were beautiful roses along the back wall, a fountain in the front. The location was within ten minutes of Omaha Beach, so it is very convenient to the D Day sites. The best part of our stay was the owner, Carl. He was so kind and helpful. He presented us with a wonderful breakfast each morning, and he greeted us upon our return at night. He told many stories about the history of the Chateau, the local towns and gave us sightseeing suggestions. He was also very anxious to hear about our daily adventures. Carl is the perfect host for those traveling to Normandy.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like. We wanted to stay longer.
La Maison Periot - Trévières - Building

9.4 Excellent (145 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Maison PERIOT in Trevieres, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Omaha Beach and Ferme de la Sapiniere Winery. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very comfortable and breakfast was great (particularly the brown bread). It's close to Normandy beaches and a perfect base for exploring. It was also well sign posted.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice host, and his equally passionate dog named “white sock” a literal translation of his French name ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem! The owners are great hosts and keep the property in tip top shape. The location is in a beautiful village in a prime location for vising Omaha beach, point du hoc and all the other historical spots in this area. I highly recommend staying here!
Cons: There really isn't anything to complain about.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed the quiet ambience of Le Maison de Pierot. Loic, our host, was very nice and helped answer any questions we had about the area. He recommended dinner options for our first night which turned out to be the charming Le Trot. The property is right in the town of Trevieres, but feels like you are out in the country.
Cons: We could hear the people above us with every step they took. But as it's a converted farm property, it's charm outweighs that small thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was charming, friendly, and very accommodating. He spoke English quite well, which really helped, since I only speak English, Spanish and Portuguese! The bed was comfortable, the room was charming and clean, the shower was strong and had an ample supply of hot water, and there is a hot towel rack, which is a nice touch. The room has a device that heats up water instantly for coffee/tea. The breakfast was delicious with fresh pastries purchased each morning; delicious cheeses, ham, and jam; the always tasty French bread; cereal and milk; coffee, and fruit. It will easily tide you over until dinner. The two mornings I had breakfast there I had lovely conversations with a couple from France one day, and from Italy the other. The property is immaculately kept, you enter through a gate with a code, and can park right next to the property in the front yard. There is also a really friendly dog who was fun to play with in the front yard. The property is located in a charming, old-world village that looks like it was pulled right out of a post card. The owner was kind enough to call my rental car company in Caen for me in advance of my departure to figure out the drop off specifics for my car since I was on a tight schedule on the morning of my departure. I will definitely recommend this establishment to friends and would stay here again if I ever make it back to Normandy, which is a spectacular place to visit. I felt very lucky that I chose this property for my dream trip to the beaches of D-Day, a place I have wanted to visit since I was a teenager.
Cons: The only thing I can suggest would be for the owners to offer thicker bath towels--they were kind of thin for my liking. But honestly, that's such a minor thing compared to what a wonderful time I had at this property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would highly recommend this B & B to friends traveling to area. The owner was very personable and friendly. His wife fixed breakfast that was great.
Cons: Nothing that i can think of.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts, lovely old building set in a beautiful garden. In quaint little village close to all tourist spots a short drive away. We really enjoyed having the optional evening meal with our hosts, so much so that we had two evening meals.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely, comfortable, and convenient property for our family of five. My children proclaimed it “way better” than the fancy hotel where we stayed in Paris. We loved the breakfast, and the yard was so fun to explore and run around. And, of course, we loved petting and playing with Chausette.
Cons: Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything the host was welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and exceptionally clean.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: location
Cons: no internet, broken for days
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you wish a truly calm and pleasant stay at the beach combined with great food and super nice hosts - this is the place in Normandy. The room was absolutely great and exceeded our expectations on all points - specious, clean, comfortable, light. I will not even mention terrace. Plus - a very good food in the restaurant. The across-the-road beach was a hit for both me and kid. All-in-all = a place for proper summer holidays!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and meals in general, simple, natural, tasteful and pure Normandy products
Cons: N/A
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The reason the rooms were not together was because the owner was able to change the accommodations because my wife was in a cast on her foot. We really appreciated the staff for the adjustment.
Cons: The layout to shower room to the WC was a bit cumbersome, but that was minor.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice and spacious 2 story room, with a master bed on the ground floor and 2 childrens beds upstairs, the room was nice and clean and with access to a little veranda. The location couldn't be much better for visiting Omaha beach with just a stones throw from the beach itself.
Cons: Breakfeast couldn't be booked with the room, this turned out to be very expensive for a very limited breafeast buffet, the breakfeast was good but not much to choose from. There were blinds on the ground floor to block out the light, but only a transparent curtain on the first floor, which made it a little hard for the young ones to fall asleep.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I would have liked to have an omelette for breakfast, but it was a good continental breakfast
Cons: I did not dislike anything. It was a great stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel!!! We will be back one day for sure!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is our second stay at this hotel with our young girls. Great location and perfectly clean and functional. We love the family room, our children had their own space as did we. We love the garden on the back of our room.
Cons: The staff weren’t overly friendly, and the food is over priced.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location with off the street parking. Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. Very tranquil with beach only a few steps away. Walking distance to center of town.
Cons: Weak internet connection. Easy to connect to WIFI but very slow. No air-con.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very large for European standards. It had a great balcony and a large outside space that I wish I could have enjoyed (it was way too cold when we were there). The restaurant had great food and the staff was wonderful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was steps to Omaha beach. Emmanuel was so kind and helpful. The room was comfortable and we had access to an ope. sitting area at the top of the stairs. It is the perfect place to stay if you like to walk and you want to see Omaha Beach, the sculpture, and the American Cemetery. The beach is across the street. We walked to the American Cemetery from the beach. We actually walked the whole breach and read several markers detailing the history of the area. There is a friendly restaurant just a 1/2 block down the road that was perfect for dinner. You can see so much right from there! I couldn’t have been happier with our stay!
Cons: Tours start out of Bayeux- so that is a consideration if that is in your plan. Thankful Emmanuel helped us with transportation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location Emmanuel was friendly and had great knowledge of Normandy. He drove us around to all the memorials and even dropped us of for dinner and picked us up. Enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome nice room and bathroom . Great location. And a very nice pack lunch as we had to leave super early
Cons: Nothing really just thought it was a little expensive after staying in a french chateau for the same cost per night . But I understand the prices because of the popular location.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing! The owners were very nice and were happy to provide extra towels and glasses to bring to your room if requested.
Cons: I didnt like that they had recently painted the room we were given.. It was very damp and therefore the paint smell was very overwhelming to the point where at night my nose was totally blocked.. We opened the door while we were there in the evening until we went to sleep. We were a family of 4 and stayed two nights.. The breakfast was two fried eggs and round thin ham cooked.. She called that bacon.. ,croissants, yellow cake, a baguette butter and jams. Coffee with milk ( I'm a cream girl) and juice.

7.0 Good
Pros: The house was quite old and very charming with lovely furnishings. The grounds were beautiful with a pond, animals and lovely flowers. It was a bit far away from the D Day beaches - really out in the country so it was quiet and peaceful but tricky to find even with gps.
Cons: Our bathroom was under the eaves and it was hard for my husband to stand in the tub/shower.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast with homemade jams
Cons: Nothing all good
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice , old house with beautiful pieces of furniture.Very nice owner. You could feel a little like a guest not only a customer.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: 1. The host is really nice and friendly. We got for breakfast a wonderful homemade marmalade and fresh fruits from the garden. 2. The location is wonderful, it is a small village, quiet and clean. It is a little farm, a very countryside feeling. 3. The room and the bathroom is very large.
Cons: 1. Everything is very old, from furniture, to bed sheets. It is like a a room from 1950, which sounds really nice, except that it is not fresh, nor very clean. The bed sheets had different colors and sizes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most wonderful time getting to Annick over breakfast. The breakfast was truly excellent with homemade preserves and a wide variety of food. The room was large and comfortable and the location was just a short trip to the D-Day sites. Our family hopes we can make a return trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Homemade jam. The best I have had in my life: raspberries, mirabelles, and rhubarb. Apples from the garden.
Cons: It was charming as is perfectly rural.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Nice atmosphere. Nice hosts!
Cons: Perhaps a sale of Colas drinks on site
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place with a very kind owner. We stayed in a very large room, super clean and with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is basic but very good! We did not use the pool but it does add value. Not sure if this is a pro or a con - but there's no tv nor wifi internet (due to the nature of the building) which we did not mind at all - we thought this was really the best way to unwind :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: More a family suite than a family room. The arrangement of having a private hallway between our room and the kids' room (with a bathroom in between) was great. Owners were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Beautiful grounds and garden, and a great and warm indoor pool. Not too far to Bayeux with lots of restaurant options (though you may need to book ahead).
Cons: The toilet is too close to the sink. The bathroom needs more towel rails, especially as there are pool towels to hang up. Limited restaurant options close to the B&B, though that is not a criticism.
6.8 Good
Pros: It had a beautiful swimming pool and hot tub and sauna. We did not use them because we were there for D-Day celebrations. Very quiet and clean.
Cons: Studio consists of kitchen, small table, bathroom and loft bedroom. Nowhere to sit but metal chairs or upstairs on bed. Treacherous stairs. Open staircase with railing only against the wall, so open on other side. Listing says there is Wi-Fi. When we asked the owner if she could help us with it, she said no, there isn't any. Cell phone reception was bad, so basically we were without communication for most of the time. Location was far from everywhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice welcome and very relaxing atmosphere.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owners, very helpfull, well kept, pool, stylish rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very welcoming and lovely. The site is stunning and so peaceful. No photo can do it justice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, we did have two rooms apartment for our 4 person family (so lot of space), lovely pool also in a bit colder weather, excellent breakfast. Very warm and friendly couple who was keeping the place, you feel very welcome. You needed to go out for dinner, but there was couple of lovely places whit in short drive. Only minus for us was that they did not speak English and we did not French. But we used google translate and manage well :)

Pros: Fantastic location near D Day beaches and Omaha cemetery .
Cons: A bit tired.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds and easy parking. Love all the roses and specimen planting. Our unit had nice little terrace for drinks and light meal. Next time we will make this a base location for exploring Normandy beaches. Very close to the beaches, the Omaha Memorial Cemetery, and a large D-Day museum. Go to the memorial and walk the grounds, you can not fail to be impressed and proud of the men who landed In this operation. Museum in the Memorial should not be missed. We saw many folks walking past because they do check bags, leave your bags in the car and go in. I was also largely impressed by the residents in the area who support visitors and make this experience so meaningful. Museums we visited were not dog friendly.
Cons: Wish the restaurant had been open the night we landed.

Pros: Fantastic staff, delicious breakfast, and right next door to the American Cemetery. We will definitely be back.

Pros: Clean, quiet, convenient, close to D-Day beaches, bed and pillow comfortable, kettle in room so could make tea in the morning, free parking, safe.
Cons: Water pressure in shower weak

Pros: Perfect location, very clean. I loved those ducks and rabbits walking around in the garden.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: early check-in and late check-out without problems. sauna included
Cons: creperie at hotel was closed.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The location and the surrounding villages were AMAZING. The staff was very helpful and the friendliest we came across on our trip. I would highly recommend this location.
Cons: We stayed out of season due to a family members wedding timeframe. $80 plus a night was a little high for that time of year with only a grocery store open two villages to the north.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable triple room with a small garden terrace. The restaurant was closed on Friday evening in June (seems strange) and no other restaurant within walking range. We asked, and the hotel were able to provide beer, wine and meats and cheeses from the breakfast menu to provide a lovely evening meal on our terrace. Very handy for the Overlord Museum across the road, but some way out of the village of Colleville-sur-Mer.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Check in and wait staff very preoccupied with running restaurant. Pleasant but not welcoming.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was just great
Cons: Restaurant closed to early

Pros: Location, comfort of rooms, cleanliness
Cons: Limited food options, but what they had was very good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect. Overlooks the entire beach. If you want to photograph this somber site during off visiting hours, this is your place. Nice breakfast that is a little extra, but worth it.
Cons: The shower / tun took some getting used to, but other than that, it was very nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Website indicated breakfast was $13pp but we were charged $25pp for light fare (fruits, yogurt, pastries, etc.) Language was issue with host, who was offended when we wished to sit at a table away from the sunny window for breakfast. Table had been set up with dishes for lunch/dinner. We pleased her and sat in the sun.
Cons: Hotel does not have air conditioning - understandable with cooler temps along this coastline - was told prior to arrival that fans were available if needed. We asked for fan due to unusually warm weather (80s) but none available. We closed windows/blinds/drapes, stayed away from room until late evening hours when we could open the windows to cool the room. Was great sleeping with ocean breezes and waves.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was awesome. Very clean and good service.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location - 20 min walk to Omaha Beach monument. Clean rooms.
Cons: Very unpleasant staff - do not smile, do not speak any language except French, do not try to help. I asked for an company invoice, staff pretended they didn't understand what I wanted. Later he called another employee who said he could not do it. During breakfast we asked to have a table on the patio, but we were refused - he just showed the table we can sit - it was a table inside, right the sun, so it was hot and uncomfortable...:( Later we asked for extra butter (very little was served), again we were ignored.

Pros: The food was amazing! The location can’t be beat for those Omaha Beach history enthusiasts. All the monuments were walking distance. Most if not all of the rooms face the beach.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eric and Valerie are the perfect hosts. They showed us around the property which is a gorgeous old house that has been beautifully remodeled. Their suggestions for our travel around the area were welcomed and appreciated. The breakfast was SUPERB in every way including the nice chat we had with Eric mainly since he spoke English quite well. The garden and grounds were charming and the location for visiting Normandy and Omaha Beach cannot be beat. You can walk thru the back of their yard to a trail that leads to the bluffs above the beach and there are several old bunkers there.
Cons: The only thing that would have made our stay better is if we had more time to spend with these warm, splendid hosts and I wish I spoke French so I could have chatted with Valerie more.

7.0 Good
Pros: Self catering property with good welcome pack and other basics provided, including wood for fire, barbeque charcoal, cleaning products, etc. Very good location for where we needed to be, near friends' house.
Cons: Better cleaning needed, no info on appliances, heaters or rubbish disposal, no curtains in bedroom, had to use towels and cushions to keep out light. Owners keep poultry which wake up at sunrise - a bit early for holidaymakers, as are next to house. Path could also do with a trim (grass was wet and trailed inside) Internal layout not well thought out, cooking arrangements very basic.
