Nice restaurant but the sugary bread and no alternative unacceptable. Fish tacos very good but again too much sugar. Lots of salad (too much lettuces) and no blue cheese. Just make the salad smaller.\nLovely space and probably would return.

Hostesses were rude got there early...tables wide open wouldn't seat us or let us pick a table-ended up sitting at service bar and had wonderful meal...tables we requested still empty when we were leaving- hostess is first impression and should make customer feel welcome-I would fire her-if we weren't from featuring industry and just regular patron would be really put off! Also outdoor 2 women bartenders were so bad -no eye contact just kept ignoring customers...

We were seated in the dining room and were greeted by a very nice waiter. However because of the extreme noise level he could not hear us and we could not hear him. We were with another couple and realized there was no way we would be able to visit and enjoy the evening. I have never been in a louder restaurant. We left and found a nicer , quieter restaurant for our meal.

Last night's wait fir outdoor seating was a little longer than usual due to threatening rain conditions but worth it. \n\nFood was excellent as usual: delicious octopus appetizer. Tasty tuna and snapper main courses!

First of all our waiter Donald was fantastic. We never felt rushed.\nThe food was very flavorful, best Brussel sprouts I have ever had. The salmon was very flavorful. We also had the charred octopus which I don't think I can really review because I was so full from eating the amazing Brussel sprouts!

The only negative are: long wait. Bartender asked us to change seats as there was someone sitting there and 'he's not done'. If someone leaves a seat at the bar, anyone else should be able to sit there.

The Boatyard is very good. We were seated near the water with beautiful views. Inside dining could be noisy but outside was fine. The service was good, drinks were good, apps and dinner were very good. I gave it very good ratings in all areas. ( Not outstanding or the best I've ever had ) but good enough where I'd return. Reasonable prices for fine dining.

02/18/17 (First Visit): Lindsey, the cocktail waitress, made us feel very comfortable sitting at the wood seats at the fire pit area, bringing us a tray for our food, strategically placed on a stump table, giving us an awesome view of the ICW. The rum punches were excellent. We shared a HUGE kale salad, the tasty roasted beets appetizer, And the delicious Brussell sprouts with goat cheese. The total tab was $60 with tip?!? Good value!\n02/27/17 (2nd Visit): Isaac was our very attentive waiter,. We had 'Very Dirty Cosmos' with preserved cherries, which were AWESOME, some HUGE shrimp, EXCELLENT FRESH bluepoint oysters, yummy comfort food - short rib with mashed potatoes & green beans, honey bread, and a bottle of Tempranillo (Jeff recommended - EXCELLENT value and very full-bodied). The mango tiramisu was just the right finish. $130 for all of it. Again, a very good value!\n\nTHIS PLACE ROCKS IT!!

Problems started upon arrival. 7:00 reservation. Arrived at 6:45. Hostess would not check us in. Told us to come back at 7. Went up to the hostess desk at 7. Her comment: 'Oh you're ready!'. We were ready when we arrived! Drink order was taken by someone other than our waitress, then given to her. Long wait for the drinks. Advertised as on the water, but there was a 1 1/2 hour wait for an outside table. My food was fine. Especially liked the Lobster Bisque. GF ordered the Salmon. It came with a bone about 1 1/2 inches long! Told the waitress & they did take the cost of a glass of wine off the bill.

The newly remodeled Boatyard was lovely for a Sunday brunch but the music that was playing was more suited to a Friday or Saturday night. Softer music would have been more appropriate than a techno beat on a Sunday morning.

This was our first visit to The Boatyard, we booked a reservation from Canada and were happy to have a lovely table outside by the canal. The service, food, ambiance were excellent. We would recommend it in an instant.\nOur only complaint - when some people sat near us with a dog, I was not happy that the servers, etc were patting and touching the dog as well as serving other tables. Not hygienic in my opinion.

I've searched for a restaurant in the Boca, Delray Beach, and Lauderdale areas. This is in the top two or three. Food is creative, very tasty, fresh ingredients (even better than whole foods), and service was professional and informed. The environment is on the water, lovely and elegant. It doesn't get better than this. Check it out.

Food was excellent, service was great, parking was a hassle, bars are understaffed, and it appears if you're a regular getting a cocktail is no problem, if you aren't, you'll never see your drink. After dinner, hung around the bar for about an hour and was unable to get a cocktail. I will definitely return, I have faith that management will resolve this issue.

Food and service was excellent. We went on a Thursday night for a nice dinner out only to find the '20 somethings' had taken over the patio and bar and were out of control noisy. Valet parking was full as was parking lot ( we had reservations for dinner) and they recommended the garage next to them. That cost us $20 in parking . Would not go back.

We chose Boatyard specifically for their terrace on the water and reserved an outside table for a special birthday dinner. Nothing outside was available when we arrived. Inside the noise level was such that we could not enjoy a quiet conversation. Only in FLL for 2 nights, it was very disappointing not to be able to sit out. Our server was very professional and pleasant. Unfortunately he happened to knock over a water bottle that sent tiny shards of glass everywhere. Accidents happen, not a big deal, it was cleaned up quickly, although I had to ask them to come a 2nd time to wipe the table as I was finding tiny bits of glass still left behind. I ordered the stone crab as an appetizer, thinking that 1 large one would be sufficient to not spoil my main course as 3 or 4 fill me up as a main. Turned out 1 bite was all there was in a 'large 4oz'claw and at $15 per claw, I was quite disappointed, and did mention it to the waiter. My salmon was cooked as ordered and was ok but not memorable, lacking salt, something I usually never have to complain about as many chefs tend to be heavy handed with the salt. My caramelized brussel sprouts were to die for and the best dish that night. My husband who doesn't eat sprouts quickly helped me get through the generous portion. He ordered the calamari appetizer and pork chop dinner which he said was good, not great. Even though we had booked outdoors, mentioned in the reservation as well as when we arrived at the restaurant that this was a birthday celebration, the incident with the water bottle, the 1 bite crab claw, we think that maybe an offer of a glass of wine or a candle in a brownie or something would have gone a long way to making up for the disappointments and making us feel like welcomed guests, which we did not feel. Boatyard is fine, nothing outstanding, and as such I would not recommend to friends as there are many other good restaurants in FLL that we feel tend to treat their customers a little more special.

The restaurant is very nice. The terrace has a nice ambiance and it's very pleasant to sit outside but it's stop there. We went there on a Thursday night, we got the table the waitress was nice until we stop ordering food. The appetizer arrived without 10 minutes and we did not even finish it that the main plate arrived. We ate everything in 30 minutes not very pleasant since you can not enjoy it. It look that they were in a rush to get us out of there. We were finishing our wine and the hostess came to ask us if we were done with the water! We order another glass of wine and the waitress want it to send us at the bar something we did not want. So she became very arrogant and rude. I understand if we would have been holding the table for 3 hours, but like i said they serve us everything in 30 minutes. Finally, i got home and had the worst food poisoning i ever had. I was sick all night surely because of the fish. If we go back it will be for drinks only. Very disappointed because the place is nice..... You can't not treat customer like this and expect them to come back.

There was traffic so I called - by a problem. - held our table. We went to celebrate our son's Birthday. You have to try the Bimini bread. It's outstanding. I know people love the raw bar - we got the ahi tuna tacos instead. There are three and they were a perfect appetizer. We never felt rushed. We had the salmon, scallops, and snapper. All were served hot and prepared well. The wine list is great - even by the glass since the three of us wanted something different. For a Birthday- you have to get dessert - go for the s'more. It is served with a chocolate covered strawberry. 1 dessert and 3 spoons. Another outstanding dinner!! Thank you!!

Killer dinner here before a show at the art center.\nI love the nautical theme of the restaurant and it's location on the water with the nice boats parked all around you.\nDanny is a great server and we had to ask for nothing the whole night.\nThe food it excellent and prepared fresh in a open kitchen.\nOne thing you just have to try at the Boatyard is the Bimini Bread - BEST bread I've ever had. It is loaded with Honey and taste good enough to be desert.\nFor my main meal I chose the Scallops and a Caesar salad. The dressing tasted freshly made to me and the scallops had just the right flavor and cooked perfect.\nMy wife really chowed down on her Grouper Picatta and almost was able to eat it all.\nFor a shared side we chose the Brussel Sprouts -- Now I'm not a big fan of Brussel Sprouts, but these were so good I could not stop eating them. They had a sweet and salty flavor and tasted out of this world (for Brussel Sprouts) \nIf ever back in the Ft Laurderdale area for dinner, Boatyard is top on my list.

Black grouper was excellent. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. I gave 4 stars because we asked for our green beans to be steamed with no butter or oil put on them. We were assured that this was done but when we got them they were greasy/oily. Our waitress assured us they were only steamed and suggested that the glistening liquid on the beans was just the steamed water. I wiped one of the beans with a Kleenex to see if the liquid dried (i.e. It was infact water) or remained an oil spot. Sure enough - it remained an oil spot. Ugggh! Why is it that no matter how hard you try to eat healthy - restaurants insist on slathering everything with butter or oil? I know a little olive oil is healthy fat - but I don't know what they put on those green beans - plus, I specifically asked them NOT to put any butter or oil on them. If I pay $40-50 for my meal... I should get it exactly like I want it!!! No wonder the majority of Americans are obese - even when you ask for your meal to be healthy it gets sabotaged by the kitchen chef. Actually, unchanging to three stars because now I'm mad again!

I explained I am out of town and thought she might have a preferred company...she replied,'Google'. Don't waste your money here...it is far better spent elsewhere.

Upon entering we were informed that there were no waterfront tables available despite being told we would have one when I made a 6:15 p.m. reservation. The Manager said they don't reserve waterfront tables. I asked him to be sure he informs his staff as they seemed unaware. The second disappointment was worse than the first. I used their facilities only to find it was filthy. The bathrooms were very dirty with paper on the floor, and the washroom. I did notify the Hostess, and before we left (2 ½ hours), my relatives utilized the restroom only to comment how unkept it was. The miso glazed grouper was delicious, but expensive. The rib eye is as much as a steak house, but does not compare. The salmon and ahi tuna were good, but nothing special. The coconut/curry conch soup was also very good in taste and creativity. Their bread is tasty, but not worth $5.00 a loaf especially when you have to order two for five people. We were celebrating a birthday which was told when I made the reservation, and no one acknowledged it. For a special occasion I would not come here. For a casual dinner of drinks and appetizers it's nice, but pricey, and very very loud.

We arrived for our 5:30 reservation and were able to sit outdoors by the canal which was very nice. Our waitress, Sam, was stellar, well mannered and took care of every need. Our food had good presentation and was cooked to perfection. Mine was Grilled Mahi Mahi and my husband Ahi Tuna. Barely hot--perfect! Brussel spouts were to die for!!\nWhat we did not appreciate was the cigarette smoke!!! Good food and cigarette smoke do NOT pair well!! As it was Thursday, unbeknownst to us was the 'ladies Night' RACOUS crowd!! Don't go on Thursdays!!!

Traveling out of Fort Lauderdale and wanted a good restaurant to start off the vacation. This first time pick was a true find. The locale on the water must be stunning during daylight but even what really distinguishes the Boatyard is the excellent food. 'excellent food' does not say enough. Everything we had was prepared with artistry, care and perfection. Would you believe you could go over the top with Brussels Sprouts? I could have made it my entrée. The Beet Salad w/goat cheese was also as good. A very generous portion of Branzino with mussels and shrimp over Jazmine rice, vegetable in a light curry was incredible. (the waiter mistakenly stated that it was to be served over Arugula...but he was quickly forgiven). Sea Scallops for my wife were perfect and plentiful. Actually we could have been satisfied with lesser portions but finished everything.\nHad to be Gluten Free and nothing on the menu to meet that requirement but the kitchen came with a medley of fresh berries with freshly whipped cream. No song or dance with unaccommodating apologies here. The Boatyard is only happy when you are. We will be back on the return trip to end the vacation on a PERFECT NOTE. Have lived in Florida for 6 years....The Boatyard is among the top 3 restaurants we ever visited. A good reason to come to Fort Lauderdale.

Some of the best meals I have had in Fort Lauderdale...in a beautiful setting. Both indoors and outdoors are great although sometimes noise (generally their music not conversation) can be a little loud if you want to have conversations. The tuna and scallops and seafood in general is fresh as can be and creatively and deliciously prepared. My favourite martini SunKiss is great (only criticism is they are making their ice from city water...and once the chlorine in the ice cube ruined the taste of the drink). Overall tho a fantastic resto, and while not inexpensive, is totally worth the overall experience of great food, service and ambiance!!

While there is no question that the Boatyard is pricey, the quality of the food, the obvious and on most occasions the service is worth the extra cost. Whether sitting indoors or out, the venue provides a tropical and water motif that enhances the experience. Among the food items we thought were excellent where the octopus appetizer, the kale salad and the filet mignon. The octopus and the kale salad portions were plentiful, and enough to share even for one with a hearty appetite. The filet mignon was cooked to the requested temperature, and was tender and flavorful. A fried calamari appetizer was good, but not as exceptional as the other two. Because it was a busy night, our wait staff person had her attention drawn in many different directions, and while the service was acceptable, it was not up to the usual excellence.

The front of the house staff was lacking in efficiency. We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation and waited at the bar for 20 minutes for a table with a half full restaurant.. I finally went up to the hostess who was different from the one when we check in 20 minutes earlier, and she didn't have any record of us checking in so we had to wait another 20 minutes for outside seating. Once seated at our table our waitress was excellent as was our meal. For appetizers we had grilled octopus, calamari and Bimini Bread all of which were excellent. I received an email telling me that an outside table could not be guaranteed. I called prior to going to the restaurant and requested a quieter table as my husband has hearing issues and wears hearing aids. (The outside tables are quieter). I was told they would have no problem accommodateing us and I should make that request to the hostess when we arrived. We were given a table across from the kitchen. Not only was it noisy from all the conversations at tables, but from the hectic non stop traffic at the kitchen.\n\nIt was less than an enjoyable evening for my husband... What a disappointment! We hosted friends from Australia who were in town to board a ship. The first impression was absurd - we had reservations at 8:45 but arrived at 7:25. Asked hostess to be seated as our party was complete. The response 'you will be seated at 8:45'. Period. Went to the bar which was packed and so incredibly loud we couldn't have a conversation, nor where there any seats. (Note that it was not a weekend or holiday, and one of our guests was handicapped.) Drinks overpriced.\nNoticing that there were empty tables, went back to the hostess to ask to seated a few minutes early, 'you will get a table at 8:45.' At exactly 8:45, we were 'allowed' to be seated at guess what, one of the tables that had been available the entire time we were at the bar. Completely unacceptable and obviously a ruse by management to get as many people as possible to order extra, overpriced drinks at the bar. Our handicapped friend had to stand this entire time.\nOnce seated, the waitress was very nice. The seafood cart came around and it was like pulling teeth to get the server to tell us the cost of each piece. When hosting guests, this is not the way to run a restaurant, so that guests are not embarrassed or hosts blind sided by cost. The rest of the meal was just passable, and amazingly overpriced for so little attention to flavor or presentation. We will not be returning - interestingly, we had the same impression at another of this group's restaurants, S3 on the beach. Corporate profit seems to be their concern, rather than the guest experience. Stick with family or chef owned restaurants, or maybe this group could learn a thing or two from chains that do it right, such as Capital Grille. Until then, stay away.

Went for stone crabs and oysters and were not disappointed! Everything was super fresh. We made happy hour, 1/2 priced drinks at the outside bar. Our servers ( both inside & out) were very friendly & attentive. Finished with their spin on key lime pie, which was awesome! Lovely setting right on the intercoastal. Great restaurant with a great view, great food & great service.

I invited a small group to Sunday Brunch at the Boat Yard to celebrate my husbands birthday and had a wonderful time. The bartender Jasmine was lovely to us and informed us about the special on Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's. The drinks were great. The menu had something for everyone and we ordered a bit of everything. The bread, conch fritters and octopus were delicious. The service was on point. The food came out hot and in a timely fashion. Thank you

Fabulous restaurant on the water. From the moment you are greeted at the front door you could not wish for a better staff! We chose to eat here 2X while in FLL. Highly recommend grilled swordfish and grilled wahoo. & watermelon salad. Note that Tuesdays are 1/2 price bottles of wine. Finest dessert ever: Key Lime Baked Alaska! Liliana and Danielle are the greatest! This is a must and ask to be seated near water.

This was my first time trying brunch there and it was awesome. The $20 flat cost for bloody Mary's, mimosas and belini's was almost too good to be true. The bloody mary bar includes shrimps, bacon, spicy green beans, asparagus, jalapeños and just about anything you can think of. Their omelette and Benedict bars are well worth it. What a relaxing great brunch. We will be back.

Poor lunch menu. I miss its former incarnation as 'Bimini Boatyard'. This was my first visit to Boatyard - unlikely to return. Dark depressing brown interior with a hodgepodge of faux mid century modern furniture coupled with dark post and beam construction. Fail. Excellent venue for a funeral.

It was my Fiancée's birthday and the Boatyard did a wonderful job of hosting us. The food was a bit pricey for the taste and selection of the food but overall I think it deserves a passing score. The roving bar food table offered raw oysters, clams, shrimp, and king crab legs. There was no price shown for each selection but we couldn't help but try the raw oysters which turned out to be $3 per oyster which was rather cheap comparing to other restaurants or Japanese joints who offer the same thing for $12 an oyster. We weren't offered any crackers so we asked but when we received them they were stale. The table behind us had a female patron that was highly upset with her steak filet but our food was what I would call average. All in all it was a good night out.

The food was amazing. There is an upbeat atmosphere but the noise level was almost out of control until after 9pm. It was difficult to hear the waiter and likewise for him to hear us. I wasn't too happy when he spilled some of my cocktail on my shirt sleeve. No mention of even asking if there were stains etc. OK...I let it go since it really was a delicious drink. Appetizers were fabulous....seafood Mac and cheese and the Brussel sprouts were a hit. The fish was fresh and moist and yummy sides. We ordered cappuccinos and dessert. Th dessert came and was a wonderful chocolate duo. We finished the entire dessert well before the cappuccinos arrived. At that time we told the waiter we didn't want them anymore. In light of the delay in service (and since there certainly wasn't anything he could do with them except drink it himself) and th spilled drink, a wise wait person would have just insisted we take them for no charge. Restaurant good will is worth some fancy coffee. Even with the mishaps I would say that the four of us liked the food so much that we'd suggest someone brave the waitstaff for a visit. Perhaps if someone were more assertive than we were they'd have a different experience. We just didn't want to make waves.

The reincarnation of the bBoatyard is wonderful. The restaurant is now a moderately priced but very upscale neighborhood bar and restaurant featuring comfortable indoor and outdoor seating without the usual excessive noise in this type of establishment. We were celebrating a birthday, and the evening was appropriately festive as a result of the excellent waitstaff and find food. We tried the grilled octopus appetizer that was excellently prepared with the appropriate seasoning. The kale salad was large enough for four to share and had a unique spiciness that made it tasty. Two of us had the ribeye steak, and in each instance, the temperature was as ordered. One of us had the petite filet mignon, and the sauce was superb and made a significant difference. The salmon as well was appropriately prepared. Our waiter suggested the grilled Brussels sprouts appetizer to be served as a vegetable, and this made a perfect accompaniment. Our only lack of satisfaction dealt with the chairs used in the booth seating in that the tilt of the chair back was so great that it is impossible to lean back and relax while sitting at the table. Nevertheless, this is a new gem in the neighborhood.

Great service & food. Glad to still have the Bimini bread appetizer which is retained from the previous Bimini Boatyard restaurant's menu. On a breezy, cool evening (for Florida), the glass wall partitions were wide open to the outside, which contributed to noise from the outside bar and a continual cool breeze. for our indoor table. Plan on easily spending more than $100 for two.

The makeover of the restaurant has added a lot of beauty and comfortable seating both indoors and on the patio. Each time we visit, it seems to get better. On this occasion, we chose for our dinner a combination of appetizers plus 2 main dishes for the four of us. The grilled octopus appetizer as well as the russels sprouts appetizers were large, well-prepared and very flavorful. The filet mignon was tender and cooked to the right doneness. The salmon was well prepared. The wine selection allowed us to choose the right wine for the eclectic food choices. Our server was extremely attentive, and accommodated our requests for the order of service of the multiple food choices. We decided to eat at the Boatyard because it’s close to where we were staying in Fort Lauderdale and we could walk and because we had been there a few years ago and found it to have good food for good value. Well, they reopened in November (according to our waiter) under new ownership and things have changed. And not for the better. We were extremely disappointed.\n\nAtmosphere:\nThe renovations are actually quite nice, but the design makes for a very noisy atmosphere that is more suited to drinking heavily than dining. When we walked up to the restaurant at 7 pm there was already a line of ten cars waiting to be valet parked. We should have sensed a difference. The bar was extremely crowded with stiletto-and-spandex-clad drinkers who were clearly not so interested in the finer points of dining. It was so loud that we had to shout at each other across the table to even approximate a conversation. I suppose it might have been a little less loud on the patio, but when we arrived for our 7 pm reservation we were asked if we’d like to sit outside. We didn’t care. Good thing: we were then told it would be a one hour wait. I suppose were were being encouraged to take a place at the bar and drink. We declined and ate inside. \n\nFood:\nThis was by far the worst food we ate while vacationing in Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale. The grilled swordfish and mahi-mahi were both greasy and almost inedible. How on earth do you make grilled fish so greasy? The honey bread was, however, the highlight of the meal. \n\nAll in all The Boatyard was loud, expensive and not worth the money was paid. If you actually like food, take a miss. If you like a loud bar scene, go for it.

We were very pleased with the food on the night that we were at the Boatyard (1-23-16) but unfortunately by 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night they had already run out of the Brussels Sprouts appetizer that my wife had asked for as well as the mushrooms that we had also asked for to have along our main entree. We did call the manager over who gave us a round of drinks as an apology. We also wished that we had been sat in the main dining area instead of the bar area...the lighting was terrible, so much so that we had to use our cell phone light app. throughout the meal to see what we were eating. There were plenty of open tables in the main dining area so we are not sure why we were sat in the bar area considering we made reservations over a week and a half ahead of time. We brought relatives from New York there for dinner and these two issues put a negative tone to the meal.

My friends and I dined at Boatyard during an early evening reservation. The ambiance boasted a distinct, modern renovation with a maritime atmosphere as several yachts docked nearby. We each enjoyed a pleasantly prepared fish entree (Scottish Salmon, Grouper Piccata and the Local Swordfish). Each dish had a light application of the sauce as ordered - In my opinion, I would have liked more sauce. Our waitress was both warm and inviting. Although her assistant was kind, he had no idea what meal was order by each guest - a minor communication goal to work on. Otherwise, I would highly recommend Boatyard for your next dining option.

We previously posted a scathing review after our first brunch at the new Boatyard when it changed hands from Bimini Boatyard. I am pleased to have nothing but positive things to say about it for dinner, where the food options have taken a gigantic leap forward in selection and preparation. Previously Bimini Boatyard had a cheap, somewhat old-fashioned dinner menu laden with unhealthy and gimmicky beach dive-type dishes. It is now up to date with lots of wonderful vegetarian and vegan options such as the garlicky brussels sprouts, fried broccoli, kale salad with nuts and fruit, all tasty and satisfyingly mouth-filling. Horseradish crusted salmon arrived perfectly cooked (medium rare), though a bit over-salted which was completely remedied with a few squeezes of lime. Fried calamari is tender, crunchy, and not too oily. Octopus is nearly as good as local favorite Greek Isles. Very pleased with abundance of healthy selections. Service was very attentive and professional on the part of everyone who interacted with us (lots of staff available) and you can tell that this place is now taking special care of all the details and trying hard to be top notch. I still wouldn't go near it for brunch after they destroyed what used to be the most spectacular buffets available in town, but they have atoned for that with a lovely upgrade that after 3 recent visits is becoming one of our favorite spots for an early dinner, and we hope that perhaps they have plans to follow suit for their Sunday brunches. Note: happy hour can get a bit loud & rowdy.

Sorry to say that after being loyal customers for Sunday brunch for years, we won't be returning. Their amazing, legendary brunch buffet has been replaced with what I can only call insulting. It now consists of an omelet station, a tray of eggs benedict, and a platter of nova lox -- and believe it or not, you get only one trip, no refills! Also, the screwdriver, bloody mary, or mimosa that used to be included in the price of the buffet now costs $14, or $20 for unlimited ones using a ridiculous bureaucratic system where you have to get a 'chip' from your server, then make a trip to the bar yourself to get your drink (your server is not allowed to bring it to you), then get a NEW chip from your server each time you want a new drink and repeat the procedure. I would expect this in a prison. The servers were very friendly and helpful, and service seems smoother than it used to be. But by trying to remake this spot into some type of farm to table experience (which they do 10 times better across the street at Market 17), they have ruined what used to be a much more healthy brunch, with all the salads, roasted veggies, the raw bar, and other options you used to have to create your own unique and filling meal. I had the nova platter with bagel & cream cheese for $16. Less impressive and less tasty than the same sandwich Einstein Bagels offers for $6.99. My companion had a huge burger, which he enjoyed. The fries were a bit limp. These are not the kind of things we usually eat but we were so disappointed with what was presented to us that this is what we kind of devolved into eating. Lunch or dinner might be better options here - we were never fans of Bimini Boatyard's lunch or dinner selections. But one of the best Sunday brunches available anywhere, and one of Fort Lauderdale's most popular dining attractions, is gone, and what it was replaced with was a gigantic letdown. This place, which used to be jammed on Sunday with lines waiting outside, was 80% empty.

Food and service was very good. Crab cake had little or no filler and was seasoned nicely. Steaks were prepared as requested. But the noise level inside was awful. Aside from the 'jungle drum' music the acoustics was so bad you couldn't hear the person next to you talking much less the rest of the table. Outside had more ambience and little less noisy even tho the same music was playing. Going to try it one more time sitting outside Both bars were two deep and lively conversations going on

We were visiting from Maine and I loved the menu! The decor was contemporary nautical and it felt comfortable-being from coastal Maine it is pretty common. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts!!! They were phenomenal. We did not have dessert. I thought the service was a bit slow, maybe they were short handed. We got the wrong food once, no big deal, however the wait to get the bill was long. I don't mind if the server makes eye contact and says, 'I'll be right there', but she came to the table after waiting for leftover boxes, didn't grab the card or even say she would be back. When she did finally come back by that time I was standing up by the table because the others were getting the cab. There was no, 'sorry for the wait'. After fabulous food that was a bummer but I still recommend it!!!!

We have frequently dined at Bimini Boatyard (the previous restaurant). It was bought by a restaurant group and re-named Boatyard with some soft interior renovations. The view is great- with a patio right on the harbor. The menu is improved- we always liked it before, but this outstanding- great fresh fish selections, prepared any way you want, accommodating with a great view- we love this place!

Paraphrasing the old song, 'it's better the second time around', as the last-and recent- rating went from four stars to five stars--and it's a rarity that I would give five stars. Ariana was an outstanding server, our fish selections(including dolphin) and side dishes were perfectly prepared, and the ambiance of eating outside merited the five stars. To add to the five stars as previously mentioned, we enjoyed single malt scotch and coffee by the fire pit. Almost impossible to top this experience. We'll be back soon!

The restaurant is in a lovely setting. Service was a bit awkward, but acceptable. Two of the four meals were good, but the other two were pretty bad. Don't order the kale salad with shrimp on top. The flavors don't go together and it's mostly just a big plate of sad soaked bitter kale. If you're going, stick to the sandwiches at lunch.

Dinner was good, but over priced. Not a warm fuzzy atmosphere, very impersonal. \n\nWe eat at many high end places in Ft Lauderdale, but Boatyard gives you very little value for your money. Even bread is served only on request at a cost of $4.00. We ordered 4 appetizers that were very good and 3 glasses of wine. We did not have any entrees, still very expensive evening. \n\nOk for an occasional dining, but be prepared to spend a lot .

I hadn't been to Boatyard since it used to be Bimini Boatyard and was renovated. The main part of the restaurant is really nice, with warm wood beams. It has a California coastal vibe. The menu is great, but on the pricey side. We enjoyed the beef carpaccio and brussels sprouts appetizers. My husband and I each had a salad-me the beets & goat cheese and his the greens, apples, and gorgonzola. We then shared the paella, which was delish! I also enjoyed a watermelon & mint martini. The food and setting of the Boatyard is outstanding; I had the grilled swordfish and my wife had the fish piccata and we shared the salad which was large enough for us. We came here on a beautiful Thursday evening to enjoy dinner on the water.. The boatyard has an exceptional location. Although we were there at 6:30 PM, there was no table available on the outside deck--nor would we have wanted one when we saw that it would be impossible to carry on a conversation with the other couple we came with.\nWe settled for an inside table which, by the way, was also noisy because they don't have Jimmy Buffet music, they have rock music and the restaurant acoustics amplify all the noise. The inside space is very ordinary and the food is mediocre, although the prices are high.\nThe only reason I have rated this restaurant 2 stars is that I first came here for lunch, sat on the beautiful deck, it was quiet and I had their delicious Bimini Bread and coconut milk conch chowder. The soup was 100% better at lunch because at dinner it was far too salty.

We were here with another couple celebrating my husband's 55 birthday. We went to the bar first and no one even acknowledged we were there. Finally I cut in and said I would like to order 4 drinks. They were out of mojitos which is what we wanted and it was only 7:00 so I was a bit confused. Anyway, we were served and then sat at a high top. The view was pretty and life was good. Then we sat at one of the best tables right on the water. Everything was great until our waiter came over. He was cold, abrupt, had no sense of humor and barked out the specials expecting us to know what we wanted immediately. When I asked about a special i saw on the blackboard he said they aren't offering it anymore and rolled his eyes. We ordered, salads, drinks and entrees. One person got their salad immediately and the 3 of us had to ask twice where our salad was. Finally we got them, but also got our main course only minutes after the salad arrived. For the prices they charge, they really need better help!!! The food was delicious and the portions were adequate. When it was time to order dessert Alex our waiter was again rude. I told him it was my hubby's birthday and that I brought my own candle. Instead of wishing my husband a 'Happy Birthday' he said you can't light a candle because of the breeze. After that I was totally annoyed and I made sure I lit that candle!!!!! When the check came I really wanted to leave a nasty note but my husband wouldn't let me. We gave him a generous tip even though he didn't deserve it. It's a shame that an experience can be ruined by unfriendly people.

I had a reservation for 4 thru Open Table. The other couple arrived first and checked in under my name and were seated immediately in the back room. They told the host to look out for us. We walked in 5 minutes later and found a line at the host stand with 2 couples in front of us. Meanwhile, my husband looked around the bar and restaurant and didn't see our friends because he didn't think to look in the back room (which was previously used for private events). It took close to 10 minutes for the host to deal with us and the 2 couples in front of us. She had no recollection of anyone checking in under our reservation and told me that she would text me when our table was ready. She also said that because of the weather they had just had to bring in all the people seated outside to inside tables and had no idea how long it would take to get seated. So we leaned on some upholstered benches in the bar for another 5 minutes...these seats were at such a strange angle that it was nearly impossible to actually sit. Finally, our friend came looking for us and took us to the table. I'm not sure if the host saw this, but she never did text me. Ever. We were seated in a large separate room full of tables but only one other table was occupied. \n\nI'm not sure what renovations were done to the restaurant, maybe they added more wood finishes. \n\nThe menu...expensive...fish, sauce, and sides were all a la carte unless you ordered from the 'favorites' menu. So you could pay $35-40 for a fish fillet, sauce, and side. I ordered the grouper favorite and my husband ordered the snapper favorite. We didn't order appetizers; had a couple of martinis instead and a loaf of bimini bread (yummy, just like Bimini Boatyard). The fishes were both excellent, but the spinach with the grouper was extremely salty. We shared an apple crisp tart dessert...it was tasty but not crispy. The table service was excellent.

This was recommended to us by the hotel. When I came back to let hotel know of our experience she told me that she had not actually been there for a while. Nice interior but we chose to sit outside by the water. Ordered drinks right away and tried some of the small plates to share. The bread was their signature snack and it was very good, no butter needed. We also had the calamari and the tacos which were both great. We were all disappointed in our entrees though. Not a lot of flavor if you don't use their sauces which we asked for on the side. It seems that they fall back on the sauces to flavor their meals but we like the taste of the fish. Two of our diners had the special which was a grilled swordfish with asperagus on a bed of palea. Tasted more like rice a roni with some shrimp mixed in. Would go back for drinks and small plates but we were soured on the main dishes.

The new outdoor seating area is fabulous. If you're coming by boat, be sure to get there on the earlier side (6:30ish). The music was loud and fair at best - lots of techno. The food was fair. I had the brussel sprout appetizer which was loaded with sauce and the goat and beet salad which was loaded with salt. My hubby had the tuna tacos which he said were average and our dinner companions had the grouper piccata which was good but again, salty. Bar service was very slow, food was fast. Servers were very pleasant.

I recently visited Bimini Boatyard for dinner and it was the first time dining there. Obviously, the view is fantastic and the restaurant is very nice inside. I was turned off by the bevy of younger hostesses who were all busy amongst themselves and so non-personal I thought a couple of them may have actually been robots. The food was good as was the service, but my son's salmon was dry and perhaps sat a little while before being served and service was just mediocre. I dine out frequently and have no problem paying premium prices, but I do expect premium food and service in return. Not this time...

Went there for a business meal. The menu has salads with seasonal ingredients, and they were large enough to share. Great cocktail menu, and decent wine list. The seafood cart is a nice idea, allowing us to select oysters, ceviche and crab legs. For an entree, we really liked the ability to select a fish, and then a sauce, which is a great way to accommodate food issues with our group, but the 'house favorites' were very well put together. Great vibe, great location. But too loud for a business meal. We were really having to shout to have a discussion. I asked for a quiet spot in my open table reservation, and they did acknowledge that when seating me, so it was nice to know they saw that request. We really enjoyed all aspects of the meal, but we had to finish the conversation elsewhere.

While this was not my first time at Boatyard it was my last. Even the first few times the food was just okay. The Kale Salad is great the chicken dish is mediocre. Yet the view and the atmosphere at Boatyard are currently unmatched. It is a great little place but my food came out wrong 4xs. The manger offered to make me something else but after 4xs? No thanks. The meal was comped as it should have been but I was really hungry would rather have just ate something great and paid for it rather than have to get a comp for food I didn't receive and was unable to eat. Either way if you eat before or after and just go for drink the Manzarita is great and the bartenders are super nice and helpful.

The remodel is very nice; however, the restaurant was extremely warm inside, service so so and the wine cooler should have been replaced because our bottles of white wine were both room temperature! I orders the yellowfin tuna special which was very good. Other people at the table ordered the filet and tuna tacos which were both very good as well. I was impressed with the food, but service, environment (temp & noise) need major tweaking! Overall I would go back and give it a try again, but not rushing to do so!

Waited at bar until outside table was available. Great table and ambience on the terrace. \nAs the one member of our party of four who does not eat seafood, I asked our waiter if they could put a vegan platter together from the large list of vegetable sides on the menu. Shortly thereafter, the waiter returned and said the kitchen 'couldn't do it'. \nI was shocked that a new, trendy and upscale restaurant with a large and varied menu would respond to this request in this manner ... but I didn't want to ruin the experience for the rest of the party so I ordered the Kale salad. \n\nThen we waited... Almost 30 minutes after the appetizers, I got the attention of the waiter who rushed off to check on our dinner. A manager appeared at our table, stuttered an apology for the delay, listened to my complaint about the inability to serve up a vegan option and muttered something about looking in to it and then wandered off. \nShortly after that, our dinner arrived.... (the manager never was heard from again...) \n\nMenu note : the Kale salad was a 9' plate with a 6' high pile of blanched Kale tossed with dressing and some halved cherry tomatoes. \n\nI have to wonder if the food is actually prepared to order, or if everything is heat and serve.....

We enjoyed every moment from the hostess who seated us- very friendly and welcoming- to the ambience - very well decorated, to the service -our waiter was cordial, funny, and helpful, especially when it came to choosing options off the menu and was spot on with his choices. We started with some Blue Point Oysters from the Seafood Cart and a Lump Crab Cake which was DELICIOUS- lots of crab and the corn relish sauce that accompanied it was outstanding. For our entrees we each chose from the Simply Grilled Seafood - I had the Scottish Salmon with Lemon Herb Vinaigrette and my husband had the Atlantic Mahi- Mahi with Shiitake Lemongrass Butter! Both were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Our sides were Roasted Asparagus - delicious and Garlic Mashed Potatoes - good but a bit on the salty side. Both sides came in a separate dish with plenty to share with each other. Lastly for dessert we indulged in an Alaskan Key Lime Tart which was out of this world. It was the perfect way to end our meal! As out of towners we were quite pleased with our choice of this restaurant. The only negatives I could share would be the pricing (expensive) and food was slow to arrive - a lot of down time in between courses. Since we were on vacation we didn't mind it. I made a reservation here several months in advance of a long-awaited fishing trip with my dad and brother. We all live in different cities and hadn't seen one another for a long time so I wanted us to have a nice dinner out during our last night in Ft. Lauderdale. In the reservation I explained the circumstances and requested water front or at least 'nice' seating so that we could talk and catch up. We arrived on time for our reservation but still had to wait to be seated. Our table ended up being right by the kitchen in the noisiest, worst part of the restaurant. We were told that we would have to wait up to an hour for a different table. When I politely objected to the hostess she apologized and said that she would tell her manager and he would stop by our table to try to 'make things right.' He never stopped by. To add insult to injury, our waitress was not super attentive or friendly. The one bright spot of our visit was the food, which was pretty good. Still, I wouldn't recommend this place to friends .

Then our server touted the shellfish cart, but that never showed up. Appetizers were just okay - and late. Our entrees came out at different times - mine while I was still eating my salad. All entrees were cold and the grilled asparagus must have been grilled under a lightbulb because it was barely warm. Manager came over to apologize after I complained and admitted they wer 'off their game.' I am now a bit skittish about ggoing back.

Doubt I will come back. Brought my mother and sister here when they were visiting. The food is OK, however, the service leaves much to be desired. We arrived at 1015 for brunch. We were told there was at least an hour and a half wait for a table outside despite many open tables. I wonder who those tables were for, since you can't reserve them ahead of time. Once we were finally able to get a table outside (our first waiter was able to get us a table outside after we asked), we again noted how empty it was. There were several tables seated after us in outside tables. Our waiter was ambivalent to our existence. Conch fritters and Bimini bread were good. My request for a fried egg on my burger was met with incredulity. 'We don't do that here. We don't fry eggs.' It is unfortunate. I was excited about getting away from the las olas brunch scene, but I'll have to keep looking for another place to satisfy that itch.

My wife and I were staying at the Renaissance Hotel on 17th street in Ft Lauderdale, and were looking forward to returning to the Boatyard for dinner prior to our embarkation on the 'Flower Power Cruise 2016'. We made a reservation, and were given a table 'almost' outside. The Boatyard has a wonderful seafood cart that they bring to your table - the selection includes cold, boiled shrimp, oysters on the half shell, stone crab claws*yum, my favorite' and a ceveiche of the day, i made a selection of shrimp, oysters and crab claws, and was quoted a price. After ordering, our server came over and said that they were told the wrong prices, and the crab claws were +$.50 and the oysters were also $.50 higher than quoted, no apology, just a statement of fact. I understand the error, and i have been in sales for 43 years, and would expect an establishment with the Boatyard's reputation to honor the quote as i would if i made the same mistake. Granted this only added $4.50 to the total bill, but this was something that has NEVER happened to me, in all my years of dining out; especially, at a restaurant i highly recommend to those who ask, and dine at every time i am in Ft. Lauderdale. The rest of the meal was excellent, my wife's fish was perfect, and in fact the seafood i ordered was great, just took the edge off with the pricing issue. I will go back to Boatyard, I will continue to recommend the Boatyard, but shame on you Boatyard - i think you should have made nice on this one~!

With memories of Bimini Boatyard still in our heads, we decided to give Boatyard a try, and we were definitely pleased.\n\nOn a weekend evening, we were seated immediately at the time of our reservation, even though the restaurant was packed. There was excitement in the air from all of the conversation, but we had no problem hearing conversation at our table.\n\nEveryone's food was wonderful, the wait staff (Saylor) very attentive. When she realized that there was one 'missed' item, she was very concerned. The manager came to the table, apologized, and offered 'desserts on the house' for everyone to make up for the one dish that was missed. As a dedicated 'foodie', I found that to be above and beyond. \n\nBoatyard is definitely on our list of Ft. Lauderdale places to recommend and frequent. We found the whole experience to be excellent.

Our flight got cancelled so we booked a room at the hotel next to the Boatyard. The menu and the atmosphere looked good when we searched on Open Table but our service experience was anything but nice. We were ignored at the hostess stand and had to wait several minutes for our table even though we had a reservation through OpenTable. Our waiter was slow and non-responsive and the lady watching the room for a private party yelled at my husband when he accidentally walked in on the party thinking he could get outside. Just a rude overall service experience. Thankfully, the food was delicious. We would consider going back because the food was so good but we would need to have a much better service experience.

Remodeled restaurant/new ownership. Very scenic, especially outside seating. Went for Sunday brunch. Website not updated, so no longer a buffet brunch. Has brunch menu. Very tasty chocolate cherry bread. Entrees mainly breakfast and sandwich. Can order a omelette or benedict to get at stations in back. Had variation of french toast, which was way too sweet. Omelette decent but grossly overpriced at $16. Service friendly but incredibly slow even though not at full capacity. Mediocre brunch at best. Boatyard looks like a nice place to have a few drinks and small appetizers outside, but not worth the money otherwise.

This was our third visit to the Boat Yard and we will definitely go back even though there are a few things that need improvement such as the music and attentiveness of the outdoor servers. The choice of music for dining is awful - it is more appropriate for a nightclub where loud TECHNO music is the norm. There was a DJ since it was a Saturday night and we would have expected him to put some thought into his music lineup instead of just playing very loud TECHNO music.\nOur server came to the table only a few times and didn't seem very interested in us. \nOn a positive note the outdoor dining area is fantastic and the food is very good however the SPECIALS are a bit pricey.\nDefinitely a place to dine in East Fort Lauderdale.

Bimini Boatyard has become simply Boatyard and our experience suggests that all the changes are for the worst. Although it comes up if you Google 'Sunday brunch buffet Fort Lauderdale', there is no longer a buffet and 'brunch' consists of an omelette station where you may make one visit for $14 and a similarly priced 'benedict bar'. Other menu items are very expensive for basics like burgers and salads and the wine list is also very over priced. We had a horrible experience with THE rudest waitress I've ever encountered, who seemed determined to push us into using the omelette station, presumably, as she referenced it 3 times in 5 minutes, as it's less work for her. When we did order, we explained my food allergies (tomatoes and red peppers) and yet were still brought coleslaw containing red peppers; my husband requested a cheese free burger and yes, that arrived WITH cheese. No replacement burger was offered - just a plate onto which he could scrape off the cheese. We'd previously loved BB and had visited there many, many times but Boatyard? No. Such a shame; the hunt for a great brunch place continues.

This past Sunday was the first time we returned for brunch once they reopened after their renovation. The restaurant looks much more modern and improved; however, they now have a token system for their Egg Benedict and Omelets stations and for their unlimited Mimosas/Bloody Mary (for $20/person). They provide you with a token and every time you want to return to the station or order a new drink, you need to ask the server for a new token to show back at the bar or station. Very inefficient and time consuming since you need to look and wait for the server to come to your table, provide you with the token and then you go to get your new plate and/or drink. Our server was very attentive but the manager we spoke with didn't seem concerned at all. Bad customer service on her part.

We all ordered some kind of fish. Mine was blackened salmon and it was very well prepared. Everyone else thought that what they ordered was good. If I were going there again, I might pass on the house salad. Rather plain. And the main dish was substantial with nice veggies, so the salad seemed unnecessary.\nThe wine was from a list unknown to us, including one guest who is quite knowledgeable about the west coast wines. Perhaps a little pricy, but the bottle we had was good.

I was lured in by a menu item I saw in the app which was unfortunately no longer on the menu when I arrived to the restaurant (skirt steak). However, there were so many other great choices to pick from, that I did not mind. The sirloin I ended up picking was cooked perfectly and the sides were great too.

We were visiting Ft. Lauderdale and found Bimini Boatyard on OpenTable.\nThe food was excellent. Every special request was fulfilled - eventually. The server was okay, but there was a generally short-handed staff that night and we waited a ridiculous amount of time for our entrees - about 60 minutes after the salad. The waitress checked in once or twice, but it got crazy. They apologized, but then there was another long time before we saw the waitress. \nI would recommend this restaurant if you didn't mind a long wait or if that was a fluke. Short-handed during high season wasn't a good sign.

Menu is limited and prices are very high ! My girlfriend lived & worked in Ft. Lauderdale for approx. 10 years ,but now resides in N.J. and wanted to dine at BIMINI for old times sake. Obviously, it wasn't the nice memories she once held as special :(

So, parked it ourselves in valet only parking lot. Off to a good start. Reservation was there. Seated right away. Opinion changed quickly by server. Very nice and great personality. Decides to have an assortment of appetizers and drinks. Food good, drinks OK. Nice place inside with good view of marina. Nice boats out there. Overall nice time. Came in late and stayed to closing. Never rushed to leave. They did start cleaning the place while there. Kind of tells you to get out. Probably will be back But so much to select from in FTL.

We had a day to kill in Fort Lauderdale on February 14th, 2015 before our cruise ship left the next day and I had googled waterfront restaurants the week before to find a nice place outside for lunch. Bimini Boatyard popped up and the pictures, the menu, and the location to our hotel were perfect. We met 6 friends from the area. We sat outside overlooking the water and several boats. Unfortunately it was a rather cool day for Fort Lauderdale but the outdoor seating area was still very nice. The inside bar area and restaurant were very elegant. The menu was diverse, offering something for everyone. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable and considering the location and the elegance our lunch was very reasonably priced. I would definitely go there again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Food was bland and overcooked. I had the Cay Sal Grouper which was bland and overcooked with asparagus which was under-cooked. The 'lump crab meat' was barely noticeable. My husband had the Swordfish Pilar which was sitting in a plain white bean soup. Very disappointing. Upon leaving we asked the hostess to call us a cab. She told us they'd be here within 5 minutes but we found out later (after standing outside for 15 minutes) that she had not actually called. Another hostess then called us a cab but we stood outside close to 30 minutes.

The food was bland and left a lot to be desired for the cost. I read a few reviews before making a reservation for Valentines Day. The reviews were mixed. Some said outstanding and others said average. I should have went somewhere else but I waited too long to make reservations for VD. My wife ordered a martini that was pure alcohol. She had to send it back because it was undrinkable. She ordered the mahi, I had the filet mignon. I did not try her plate, but she was not thrilled. I was underwhelmed with mine. It was tasteless. \nThe restaurant itself is very nice and the staff was great. I just didn't care for our experience. I will not be returning.

The hostess was very accommodating, she willingly changed the seating plan when I requested it. The food was good, portions were fair for the price and the wait for the meal was acceptable. I visited on a quiet Saturday afternoon after a long flight to FLL and was greeted by the valet who holds up a ticket without any greeting or anything. I asked 'do you speak?' he says 'only when spoken to'. That interaction started the downward spiral. I mentioned the valet to the desk lady and she said nothing. \nThe food was tasty but unremarkable. Drinks were normal for So. Florida.\nI was a little nervous because the valet and everyone working in the restaurant was walking in and out of the kitchen. The manager never came by so my nervousness lasted my entire lunch. I recommend this restaurant if you are hungry, thirsty and good service isn't important. You can even keep the glass with purchase of a fruity drink.

Second visit to show some friends. The hostess was outstanding, making sure in the end that our table was ok as it was too windy outdoors and too cold / windy at the first table she showed us by a door to the outdoors. So the third time was a charm, and I very much appreciate the attentiveness by the hostess. The food and drink were terrific. Maybe a place to go for drinks but the consensus for the table for eight was 'meh'. The lobster and shrimp mac and cheese had no chunks of lobster but plenty of chunks of raw garlic to chomp into. That was really disappointing. My daughter had the side of vegetable rice pilaf. At $6 a side one would think you would expect more than a half cup of rice. She did say it was good, however. Nothing notable here. \nBurgers were said to be good. Sashimi was good. Pasta dishes....huge chunks of raw garlic. Just don't get this one. \nBoats coming and going were nice to see. Not bad, but not great. Food was flavorful, but the portions were inadequate for the prices. Except for the Chocolate Layer Cake, which was enough for all 4 of us in the party, the entrees felt like half portions. Service was excellent and attentive. One order came out with an incorrect side, and a new one was brought out immediately (although again, the portion looked like less than half).\n\nFor almost $200 for 4 people with no alcoholic beverages, the price was too steep for the servings. Would probably choose another location at that cost.

Choose this restaurant for a family outting while in Ft Lauderdale. Used open table and called for out door dining. They don't take reservations for outside so keep that in mind if you want to sit outside. They noted if you got there later than 7:15 pm you have to wait. On food, ordered conch fritters, Bimini bread and oysters to start. All were good, agree with other reviews about paying for the bread. All enjoyed it but probably wouldn't buy the bread again. Had grilled fish which was excellent, seafood pasta and crab cakes. All were very happy. Michael was our server and was extremely nice and gave wonderful service. We sat outside on the patio for a recent diner. The setting along the canal is excellent. The moon rise over the docked boats added to the pleasant atmosphere. The Bimini bread is worth the $4 and the conch fritters were the best we have had outside if the BVI. All of us had some sort of fish dish and all of it was well prepared and flavorful. The key lime pie was average. The only problem with the dinner was a snafu with paying the bill, which, after a lengthy wait was appropriately straightened out.

They have a new chef and the restaurant has lost its food quality. My restaurant cut filet was a tail end with the silver membrane and gristle. No chef should allow that to be served. The last two times were great, but it was the prior chef. We were very disappointed. The staff has also changed and not the same atmosphere or friendly welcome feel. We would always go there when in town, but not the next time. Our server tried pushing his side job of the 'time share' business on us. Very sad news for Bimini.

We booked this location for the outstanding reviews. The location and atmosphere was beyond amazing! The drinks were ok nothing outstanding for there price, the food here is there main trouble. The kids chicken tenders were amazing! I ordered my tuna medium and it came out very very well done and dry, for the next problem which rolled over from the dry food, our waitress disappeared. Our glasses were empty for almost 20 minutes and I could not complain and send the fish back, when I finally saw her back in the deck I tried repeatedly to get her attention to no success. This required me to stand up in front of her as she was trying to walk by to say I need the check. \n Once again great location, great atmosphere, great band, great appetizers, very poor service, poor flavored and cooked main courses, pricey considering the service.

My first time experience at Bimini Boatyard was very positive both for ambience and food so I decided to entertain 10 guests at the restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. The fish dishes and the meat dishes were prepared poorly (dry and tasteless). Also, the service was lacking- my dinner guests needed to repeatedly ask to have their water glasses re-filled and our side dishes were served cold. We asked for ketchup no less than 4 times before someone brought out a bottle. All in all definitely not the 'quality'dinner I was hoping to host. I will need visit the restaurant a third time to see if I was there on an off night before I am able to recommend the restaurant. I am certain for one thing, Bimini Boatyard will not be on top of their list of fish houses.
