Hotel was comfortable and served excellent food - both dinner and breakfast. Was not easy to find in the dark though!
Excelent staff, 1st class food and service, high standards throughout Bar closed too early(10.50)
The quality of the food was very high and the staff were very attentive and polite. The quality of the bedroom was adequate but we expected a higher standard.
Super location and friendly staff None
The position Burned Poached egg! How do you burn a poached egg!! Also the plug in the bathroom didn't work
The staff were very helpful. I have not received a more helpful, polite and welcoming welcome from all the hotels that I have stayed in over the years. The bed was comfortable, the food excellent and staff very attentive.
The hotel has a delightful situation on the banks of the Tweed and adjoins the picturesque ruins of Dryborough Abbey. The staff are warm and welcoming, food is good with excellent service at table. Our bedroom and the public rooms were attractive and comfortable. The hotel is smart but has an informal, friendly atmosphere, fishing rods, bicycles, dogs and walking boots all welcomed. The hotel is on the coast and castles cycle route,we enjoyed cycling straight out of the carpark into the quiet and beautiful countryside. None experienced
Nice fod good info on whiskey When checked out and leaving , I recommand hat the people at the reception desk inform/remember foreigners to drive at the left side. I did leave the hotel and had a car accident on the road up the hill ! total loss, just because I did forget I was in the uk
Staff were wonderful, helpful and really polite. None.
Friendly, mainly local staff; excellent food in both main Restaurant and Bistro; comfortable/relaxed atmosphere; ideal location for exploring Scottish Borders. Two night weekday stay and upgraded to a Superior Room at no extra cost. None
Nice setting Tiny room, overcooked breakfast. This is a training centre for Scotland Ambulance service so do not expect a seat in the bar or restaurant in the evening. Also I asked for a room with little stairs or distance as my partner is 7 months pregnant, I got the furthest room possible and accessible only by stairs will not stair there again. Not something you would expect from DeVere
Nice friendly hotel. The staff were very helpful. One of the benefits was the availability of Coffee / Tea in the Lounge and Conservatory area of the Hotel. The only small point was that the Hotel Rooms were very small.
the room was so comfortable and the swimming pool a complete luxury as most hotels charge extra to use the pool and gym. it made it very relaxing. the food was fantastic and the views incrediable. It was a beautiful hotel to stay at and only a short trip into edinburgh. there was a few deliveries at night which did make alot of banging noise.
Friendly, professional staff. Good food. Tea/coffee/water facilities available all day. Swimming pool/gym well maintained. Nothing
Good comfortable room, pleasant surroundings and a fascinating building. As we only stayed one night, we didn't have time for any of its facilities really. Pool looked good though. Will stay again when next in the area. No-one on reception to give us a key when we returned after a night out. Anyone could have walked in. Minor complaint really, soon found someone in the bar.
Comfortable and good pool Menu indifferent/poor and staff poorly trained and gave incorrect advice
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere Not enough seating at bar area
the barony castle had a unforgiveble atmosphery, and I felt very good. expecially its pynetum was fantastic. very relaxing
Excellent base for touring in the borders, close to Peebles Inexperienced serving staff, room quality below expections for the cost.
Very freindly and helpful staff. Beautiful location.
Very good room. poor quality dinner. Very bad breakfast.
All staff, without exception, were always polite, affable, helpful and acted as if it was a family concern. There was a singular lack of early and daily information regarding the evening menu.
The facilities available were excellent and breakfast selection great The price of drinks at the bar was a bit high
The room allocated to us was excellent as was the swimming pool.
Relaxed atmosphere, but professional No
Comfortable rooms, good facilities, enjoyable food. perfect for a short break
Location was a good centre for country walks. Food was excellent. Lack of a la carte menu for evening meals in restaurant so that we could have had only a one course meal some evenings
Room excellent in views and comfort - superbly serviced. Some members of staff lacking in customer care particularly in bar/lounge,preferring to talk amongst themselves instead of servicing customers needs. No attention to detail in restaurant - on 2 occasions we dirty unwashed wine glass plus dirty knife and next day dirty cup.
he hotel was in a quiet location withe good quality rooms. However the pool area did not have a hot tub/jacuzzi which is unusual for a newer built hotel. The pricing of food in the restuarant is not good. Individual food pricing should be introduced for guests without delay to keep up with your competetors like Hilton Marriot etc who offer this service.
Peace and quiet. On checking in, we were given the key to an already occupied room. A vry embarassing experience for all concerned. We were told that the duty manager would be informed but we never recieved an apology. Every other aspect of our stay was excellent.
Clean and comfortable room. Good extras in the room - freeview TV, coffe/tea making + biscuits, trouser press. Excellent breakfast. Lack of water pressure in the shower
Excellent, friendly staff. Room small but perfectly adequate, the real plus points were the bathroom which was big with a great shower and also the breakfast. Fantastic - I would definately recommend the Station Hotel. None
friendly welcome and service breakfast a little plain
Lovely town By a busy road
The room was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was in a good central location. There were not many vegetarian options on the menu.
Excellent accomodation, good staff, good food None
Staff friendly and helpful Would be helpful if a second chair in bedroom when occupied by 2 people
Quite frankly leaving A male member of staff at the hotel (not sure if owner or manager) ruined our stay. basically I thought he was immensely greedy. We had enquired about keeping the room on until the afternoon of our last day and he replied that someone was booked to come into it, however as soon as a payment was mentioned he allowed us to stay on until 2pm and then proceeded to charge us £30 on our card. I think this is outrageous and cannot be justified, had we known in advance of the price we would have left it and gone and paid for a nice meal for 2 somewhere to kill time. I also found when checking our bill that 2 small glasses of wine had cost us £7.50 and to add insult to injury we had not drank it because it was sour. Female staff very pleasant
very friendly staff and a very clean and pleasant room
food was out of this world not what you would expect from a small town
Very peaceful and picturesque place, beautiful surroundings, and lovely place.
We were made to feel very wellcome and the surroundings were wonderful
Beautiful rooms, stunning scenery, free internet access 24x7 and extremely helpful staff. No tea or coffee making facilities in individual rooms (although you can request at any time), everything else was great.
The location and setting. The hotel building. The people. The food. I would change the furnishings in the otherwise excellent conservatory.
Relaxing atmosphere, lovely rooms, roaring fire
Staff were very friendly and proffesional, location was beautiful and room was very comfortable
the location the atmosphere very friendly staff excellent food and very good all round stay.
The Ambiance, quality and service. I will recommend it and use it again. No
location hotel had no dislikes
Setting, room, staff, restaurant
The dining experience in the Dungeon Restaurant was exaemplary. Presentation , quality and service were al excellent. We had booked into the lodge but were upgraded to a themed suite which was a lovely surprise.
We were upgraded at no extra cost. The staff were fantastic and we had a great time. It was very relaxing. There was a strong smell of sewage in the corridor outside our room
Very luxurious, comfortable, friendly, food lovely & staff very helpful.
Quiet, beautiful location but within easy travelling distance of Edinburgh.
Very attentive staff when nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent including a full Scottish breakfast. The hotel upgraded me due to the snow at no extra charge and even helped dig me out in the morning. I could not have asked for more The weather!!!
It was a great venue and a lovely setting for a wedding.
Room needs renovation but the fact you are in a castle makes it feel nicer.
The quality of the staff, facilities and welcolme
It is a magical place in a beautiful setting. The food was particularly good.
