Cons: We had to wait for the car, for the shuttle to the airport. A lot of hidden fees. The car was mediocre and dirty. I would go with another company.

Overcharged by a $300
Cons: Waited 2 hours!!! in line to get my car, After all the wait, representative claims price I have from kayak is without liability insurance!! and charged me another $30 per day for liability insurance, Will never again rent from this corrupt 3rd World rental company.

The worst experience I've ever had with a business
Pros: Nothing. I have nothing good to say.
Cons: First - this business operates with a bait and switch strategy. When I booked this rental online, I was quoted a rate of $50 for the 8 day rental - a rate I found too good to be true but when I read the small print, I saw nothing indicating additional fees would be charged. When I arrived in Cancun to pick up the car, I joined a very long line and waited 90 minutes to talk to the counter agent. As soon as I did, I realized why each renter took 10+ minutes at the counter. I was told that the rate I was quoted did not include a mandatory insurance required in Mexico. And this insurance would change my rate from the $50 quoted to over $400! I (like every other person in that line) was irate. They told me there was another option - to pay a $2500 security deposit which would be returned if and when I brought the car back safe and sound. I told them I preferred that option. Apparently, that wasn't the right answer. The agent I was talking to went to get his manager, who told me that option was no longer available. He then told me I'd have to give a $1000 security policy and pay an extra $20/day for a lower level of insurance coverage. At this point, I understood I was being swindled. I became angry. I asked for them to tell me exactly how much this car rental would cost and what were mandatory coverages I couldn't refuse and what were optional. The agent and his manager became angry at me. A shouting match ensued and eventually I was told they would not rent me a car and I was escorted out of the office and put back on the airport shuttle. Obviously, not a good experience. My ask to you Kayak is that you cease to do business with Fox Car Rental and all of their subsidiaries. My experience is not unique - it is representative of every person who rents a car from this business. And as long as you continue to list Fox on your search results, you are complicit in this fraud. You have a responsibility to stand behind the vendors booked through your site and I know that hearing this story, you will take action to protect the rights of your customers. If you'd like more detail I'd be happy to provide it. Final note to anyone thinking about renting a car from Fox Rental, Ace Rental or any of this company's affiliates - don't do it.
