I grew up literally in the next town over and had no idea that this was a place to stay. The dragon claw foot bathrub was amazing. My girlfriend and I kept expecting a ghost or 3. We both loved it.
Room was ok. Shower good. Torn sheets in bed, not too bad, and clean. Clean enough place. Good towels. Bed OK. No communication. I received an envelope. It had a piece of paper in it that I missed containing key drop off instructions. Finally met the property manager, a good person. Please leave a card with instructions on the night stand for key drop off!
The location and the price Ah where do I start. It was the first time I've stayed in other than a hotel so maybe my expectations were too high. The place is not kept up well it's damp and smells mildewy. It was dirty and there were bugs and visible cobwebs.
Convenient location for our plans. Central heat not turned on. No telephone No staff available- could not get staff by phone to request heat.
The Hotel was not open when I arrived and I had to spend 45 minutes talking with Expedia to get a different hotel booked! It was not a good way to spend 45 minutes.
When I made the reservation there wasnt a lot of information about the rooms. The bed and breakfast is run by a French family, and it's basically a beautiful historic house with many bedrooms. The owners are lovely and they provide a hearty breakfast in the morning. Don't expect luxury or hotel accommodations, because it just isn't either. It's a cozy bed and breakfast owned by a great French family. Highly-rated recommend. Would stay again. It is clear that the family is tastefully updating different rooms, but my room had a loose nail on the floor that ripped my sock. If anything, maybe some improvements to the flooring.
