The serenity and the beautiful surroundings.
The pool was not in use. However this was not mentioned on the site.
Atmosphere, friendlyness and service provided by the entire staff.
We arrived directly from Montreal Canada and thus for us it was 2am when we arrived - since it was 8 am at the hotel our room was not ready but they allowed us to sleep in the massage area and also provided us with breakfust buffet- free of charge - this was fantastic since it permitted us to rest and at at 1pm our room was ready - we left our bagage and then went to visit so we had no jet lag!! The review on your site does not reflect the excellent quality of the staff and the excellent hospitality
Excellent service and attention to clients
We had a car and the place was perfect. In countryside but at the same time close to the motorway. Nice building and really typical. A bit farmy but normal, couse is family owned. None.
Quiet location, only 10-15mins away from Prien / Stock for Chiemsee lake by car. Nice room, good breakfast - standard Bavarian fare of cold meats and cheeses, cereals etc. Requested and had confirmed a double room but hotel changed this to 2 x single.Service in dining restaurant poor.
Access to sights I wanted to see.
Service, food, atmosphere no
Very friendly staff. Excellent room - big and spacious. Excellent bathroom. Very good bayern breakfast. Quiet location near autobahn. none
The hospitality of Manager and Manageress
great food, friendly sevice, quiet location yet near motorway nothing was wrong with hotel but they could give bettter directions on how to get to it, not the easiest place to find with the maps given
Meals, especially breakfast. Best 3 star hotel we have ever stayed in. Very comfortable, quiet, clean, and a great view when snowfell the next morning. Great staff rapport. We were extremely impressed with the over all standard of service. No comments
very quite, nice staff and service, clean and good value for money
We phoned ahead, but were quite late due to traffic.. This was not a problem for the hotel, and we were still able to enjoy a full dinner and a couple of drinks before going to bed. The room was massive, with a view, and despite being close to the autobahn (less than five minutes) was very quiet. We didn't have our dog with us but they appear to have some rooms that cater for them.
Ease of parking within the hotel grounds. The friendliness and helpfulness of staff; and the home made food from the Hotel's own farm produce made this a very pleasant stay.
The rooms were large and very well appointed. The choice of food was excellent
I liked that it was the cheapest near Munich. But that's about it. No wifi. You need to receive a text msg with a passcode to sign into the wifi. The problem is that I had an I pad with no phone# so it pretty much didn't work.
Staff very friendly. The TV did not work in the rooms and the staff did not inform us of this when booking in.
Excellent value for money. Everything was great.
The room was very large and had a curtained off area for the children to sleep. The hotel was very nice and very conveniently located. I would highly recommend it to others. We wished we were staying longer.
Hotel zur Post has a very good location, I could walking and visited beatiful region. There is a hotel's restaurant with delicious meals.
Close to Autobahn but away from noise. Decent rooms and food at a budget price. Room was much smaller than implied in the website (we got the smallest double room). The room had an odour of smoke.
Attentive staff, excellent facilities and location. Outdated, it needs a soft renovation. Bad wireless reception in room, reception signal should be improved.
The location is beautiful and a good starting point for a lot of day trips to other interesting places in Bavaria or Austria like Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Königssee, Zell am See, Kitzbühel etc. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The wash rooms had no ventilation and when we had a shower the floor got a little flooded since the curtain did not close fully.
the friendliness and proffessionalism of the staff. the location. the food. everything exceeded expecation
It is a beautiful, peaceful site where it is possible to relax with excellent amenities. No
Slow service in Dining room
The location on the water, the rooms, the great , kind helpful service, and all the recreation.
Relaxed but efficient, rooms well apointed, dining and wine list great. Good value for money in a lovely region.
location on lake chiemsee and the ability to go from the hotel to the lake for a swim. Good outdoor breakfast which is included in the price. Hotel is aged, it claims 4 stars but it needs to refurbished and is lost in a time warp of classic olde worlde Bavarian/Tyrolean design which doesnt work in a lake setting. Access to the lake is very small and not comfortable. Excessive development of the yacht marina has choked off the lake from the hotel. The art in the hotel is appalling, cheap quasi-African oils for sale, again not befitting an upmarket hotel. In general, many of the hotels on Lake Chiemsee and Bavaria in general are stuck in their old design format of checked fabrics, heavy furniture and bad design. I live nearby so I know what I am writing about compared to Italy, Spain or France
Generally helpful staff, especially the host, accessible restaurant, beautiful views, comfortable room. My internet connection in the room was shaky and the hosts did not seem to know how to turn on the English keyboard for th internet.
A very comfortable hotel, close enough to reach by car the ferry to visit Herrenchiemsee palace on the nearby island. Very large room and free services such as Wi-Fi internet. Good restaurant.
Free entry to the Thermewelt. Nice view from the room. Not far from area attractions. Parking in garage was very small and very low. Charge for the tax free coupon that I did not needed. Laud music from the next door restaurant on Saturday night.
Proximity to the Chiemsee Therme Spa and free admission to that spa. It is our 4th time there.
Very nice receptionist. Clean and spacious rooms. Very nice breakfast. Absolutely awesome having a pool facility next door. For us great being half way between Munich and Salzburg Beds a little hard
Very convinient location with the working distance to the mineral pool and spa. Good service and comfortable rooms. Breakfast included.
Close and affiliated with Chimsee Therme Wi-Fi only in public spaces
Clean bathroom, quite environment, very close to the spa (free entrance), availability of sauna (EUR 4.5), massages (EUR 35) Poor knowing of English by the personnel, we had a broken couch in the room, mostly old people in hotel and spa
The staff were great! Answered all our questions and even did some internet searches for us to get more complete answers. They were willing to listen to my really bad German and speak really slowly back in German or in English. Would like a larger wi-fi coverage.
Entry to the baths include in price.
Attentive owner/chef was friendly and helpful, and spoke English. In the adjoining restaurant, he took time to translate and elaborate on every item on the German-only menu. The restaurant offered tasty gourmet cooking in a quaint romantic setting. A small, free parking lot is located in front of the hotel/restaurant. Directly across the parking lot is a convenient Penny market for groceries and snacks. The hotel is a good overnight stopping point for Chiemsee visitors and it was convenient to have a breakfast nook/table with benches in our bedroom. An outdoor dining patio directly overlooks into the windows on one wall of our second floor bedroom. Furnishings are a bit dated.
The staff was incredibly nice and always willing to help! This was much more than you could expect. Even the fodd was surprisingly good!
The excellent atmosphere created by the hosts and the pure Bavarian style.
Free car park, helpful and friendly staff, breakfast was better than average for hotels in this price range. bedroom and bath small but common in hotels in Europe.
Beautiful location in a very scenic area overlooking the lake and the mountains. The hotel room was lovely and we had a fabulous lake view. The room w as very clean. Buffet breakfast was ample and delicious. We would certainly recommend this hotel. The staff speaks either very little or no English which makes things a little awkward. The adjacent restaurant had great food but the service was slow and the staff not too friendly to foreigners. Our waiter was particularly rude.
The Seishof is up on the hillside in a rural area, but still only about a 2-3 minute drive to Bernau am Chiemsee zentrum........location is very nice and quiet.......excellent veiw of the lake. It's about a 5-10 minute drive to Priem am Chiemsee to get on the ferry boat for HerrenChiemsee. The staff, the breakfast buffet, and the room rate were all excellent......I would definitely recommend the Seiserhof.
Beautiful views to the lake, big spacious room (although we think we were upgraded as we had booked a room with balcony and initially were put in a room with no balcony). Even though English very limited, staff were friendly and smiley. I think the room may have been closed up for the season as it was missing most knives, forks, plates etc. Staff spoke virtually no english - the level of English spoken could be helpful on website. This was the most expensive Hotel we stayed in, and although lovely, no nicer than any of the others that we stayed in around Austria.
The hotel was in a beatiful area with lovely views. A very good standard and excellent breakfast and restaurant. On arrival there was no one to recieve us - just a key left in an envelope with no explanation - just our name. There was no one around who appeared to speak any english. The overall impression was that this was a High Standard 'Corporate Type' Hotel which was just out to fill some spare beds during the 'low season'. There was absolutely no sense of personal 'customer care'. Having said that - we would use this hotel again because, functionally it suited our purpose for visiting Chiemsee.
Close to local attractions, beautiful location, beautiful wooden building, nice outside seating area. The room was big and had good shower facilities. Highly recommend the restaurant next door, exceptionally good food. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fabulous. Within the hotel itself, the restaurant staff were cold and ignorant, slow to take orders and we are sure we were given someone's left overs for our dinner - it was disgusting (and it included a dead fly!). No apology given and we were sick the next day. The room was a good size but very dark as there was only one skylight and no windows. As there wasn't a bath only a shower, it was not ideal for a family with two babies.
Good value, convenient, beautiful location and friendly staff. As the gateway to the Tyrol it is perfect
The food in the restaurant was good and represented good value for money. Room had been newly redecorated The room was over the kitchen and so was noisy until 12.00 and again from 05.45. The facilitities are all in the Seiserhof (sauna, internet) and not avialable in the Seiseralm. No credit cards accepted at Seiseralm.Staff could have been more friendly
Friendly staff, good food, nice room
Confortable. Reception open 24 hours.
great local if you have a car. very good breakfast.
A very nice, well-appointed hotel with spacious rooms and excellent facilities. The dinner and breakfast we had there was excellent. Our lady who waited upon us in the dining room was a delight and although we had no shared language abilities, we achieved so much through laughter and her personality.
Arrived as town fest started, so joined in without delay. Wonderful dinner outside. Breakfast was spoiled by investation of flies, staff seemed overwhelmed by it themselves. Must have been the weather.
Warm atmosphere, kind staff low comfort (old fashion, simple furniture, 30-40 years old) waste_basket full with rubbish in the room/toilet
The food at the restaurant was very good. The hotel room was very clean and fairly large when comparing Europeon hotel rooms.
Very nice German hotel in the countryside quite near to Prien and Chiemsee (with the Ludwig castle of Herrenchiemsee). Room was clean, quite big and comfortable. There was no wi-fi internet connection in my room.
Room was exceptionally nice & the restaurant was excellent-the chef is outstanding.
Don't arrive on a Monday when the hotel is unstaffed and you will have difficulty getting in.
Location was fine for Chiemsee area. First room provided had not been cleaned; room we stayed in was right beside church clocktower
Location and free parking. Nice room with balcony.
Everything, the people were friendly and helpful, great place.
The restaurant serves terrific dinner. One of the best we had in Bavaria. The English menu should be updated
Staff always wiilling and courteous with a smile aspeaking perfect English. Hotel within walking distance of fabulous Lake facilities and associated sports
The hotel has a good restaurant. Traffic noise during the day - but not a problem at night.
Staffs are kind. Atomoshpere is good. Location is good, close the central station. Staffs are very kind but not fluent in English. It does not matter anyway.
Beautiful traditional Bavarian architecture, comfortable rooms and friendly service. Good location in Prien, but Prien itself is further from Chiemsee than we expected.
Central location in the town. Room rate/price. Private parking was adverrised as available at 6.50 Euros per night. We requested private parking on our internet reservation. When we checked in we we escorted to the private underground parking by a friendly receptionist who was dismayed to find a big Mercedes car already in the space available for my car. The receptionist was very concerned and helpful but unable to resolve the problem so we had to drive back up the ramp and park in the hotel public parking area. We had requested the private secure parking as our car was full of valuable personal effects as we were driving from UK to Greece.
Friendly staff, great food and value for money in the hotel restaurant. Free wireless is a definate bonus.
We wanted to stay in Prien because we know people who live nearby, in Rimsting. The hotel was in a nice location, and the room was clean and suitable for our needs. A baby cot was provided, and I appreciated the refrigerator to store my medicine. We also appreciated being able to use the computer and internet by the front desk at no charge. No.
very comfortable in all respects.Excellent breakfast . could be 10 euro cheaper -would be fairer
Very good hotel with local tasty dishes in restourant. Location is excelent for the rest on Chemsee: just in front of piers. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms and free parking are great advantages.
Hotel staff, location and decoration.
free use internet, parking and location
A good clean hotel in a good location. It was not informed that Tuesday is Ruhtag (their day off), so when I arrived around 19:30 the reception was closed (i had to telephone the hotel to be let in) and the restaurant and bar were closed. I assume this only applicable to Tuesdays (possibly only in low season).
This hotel was great for the location in Prien. Great value and breakfast. Attached to a confectionary which was great. Walking distance to the boat to go to Herrenchiemsee palace
The Hotel is perfect .Restuarant open all day.Locate at the port to the insel.Breakfast is wonderful.Bakery at the cafe is yummy and cheap.
Outstanding food service; good selection of dishes You will never get to catch any receptionist at the reception, day & night. They are not friendly & helpful if at all. No privacy preserved. Room service will just bust into your room at about any time even in case the do not disturb sign displayed.
We found the hotel to be charming, convenient, comfortable and very accesible to the castle. We ound it to be one of our favorite hotel stays on our triip.
Close to highway and the boat dock to Herren Cheimsee
Rode boats and visited castle
The view from the room. The staff wasn't pleasant and helpful and they do not speak English. Breakfast was very poor for a 3 star hotel.
The owner of the hotel was very gracious. The restaurant has a nice menu and their fish especially the fresh caught and smoked ones were a treat. The breakfast buffet was generous and the service prompt. The hotel is a 1/2 hour walk to the harbor where you catch the various ships to the islands. The walk to the town is about 1 hour. It is best to have a car when staying at this hotel.
There was a bad smell from cows that come through the window of my room which should be kept cloded. Furthermore, the hotel is a little far away from the city center and the staff does not speak english very well.
Room, parking (free of charge), hotel staff, location, meal
The restaurant is excellent - so good that we dined there twice in a three night stay
The hotel is very good, especially the restaurant.Very good fish from Chiemsee.
Friendly considerate staff during a spell of poor winter weather. The hotel was warm, the room spotless, bathroom excellent. Staff cleared 150mm of snow from the car park and my car before I left. I would go there again and recommend it. The setting would be wonderful in summer. An unpleasant smell from the bathroom drains which disappeared once the water traps were in use. I booked a double bed but received two singles pushed together. We were too tired after a long drive to bother and had a good sleep!
food, full fridge and cheep drinks
The room was ok and clean. The view and surrounding countryside was fantastic, The icebox was full of ice and the kitchen light didnt work. The manageress was put out to the point of being rude when confronted about this. The whole place lacks attention to detail.
The rooms are very large and having a small kitchen was a real benefit. The hotel is somewhat out-of-the way. It is a 7 km trip to Prien and Lake Chimsee. However, for us the benefits outweighted the distance.
Breakfast was fantastic and the room size was brilliant. Location was also spot on, not far from the town centre but great views from balcony.
big room (important for familly); wonderful view, silence,
Price and cleanliness
Hotel staff was great and the rooms were very clean
The hotel and staff were friendly and the athmosphere was pleasent. The constant traffic noise is very unpleasant.
We had a large, spacious room. There was a self service bar for wine, beer etc. This was very convenient. This hotel is really wonderful value for money. You would have to be very fussy to find anything to criticise about this hotel.
We had our own private terrace that overlooked a brooke. It was great to sit outside, listen to the water flow, and have a glass of wine accompanied by the local cheese. There was a grocery store across the street.
Everything - staff, location, all was wonderful
The hotel is very cozy and cute. Staff was friendly, spoke English. Only 10 minutes to Prien to go to the islands by boat. Breakfest included and was a nice spread of food. Resturant in hotel has amazing meals. Family friendly. we love it!
Beautiful Bravarian motif! No elevator. (However, most of these smaller hotels lacked elevators.)
Havig stayed there in the past, I enjoyed coming back and finding the service as good as last time. As our room overlooked the street there was a lot of traffic noise.
this hotel was used as a stop int transit onto Austria, so did not arrive until late so was just a place to sleep have breakfast then left
traditional, clean and value for money.
Great Hotel, biker friendly, superb food. Ideal for exploring the local area or staging through, as we did.
Location and appearance of hotel was fine. We left a day early when we were awoken, at 0500hrs in the morning, by the cries of animals (8 pigs and 1 bull), being taken into an abatoir, from an enclosed yard, below our bedroom window. The animals were clearly distressed and my wife and I were very upset by the experience. I am amazed that an abatoir is co-located with a hotel and visitors are not warned.
The location in a very beautiful little town of Bernau. Though located on the central road of the town - didn't find it bothering at all. The fact that the heating wasn't on all the time (probably was shut from a central location in the hotel), the room was cold and it was only the end of October. I hate to think what is going on there in the "real" winter time.
