9.8 Excellent (85 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lesley and Xavier were excellent hosts. The breakfasts were superb.
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the luxury feel - more like a Boutique Hotel than a B&B. The peace and tranquillity of the location - we saw some deer in the garden one evening. Dicovering that unspoilt corner of France - and the lack of light polution meaning we saw stars in the sky we've never seen before. The food!! The food was delicious with lots of home made and locally sourced produce. The hosts Lesley and Xavi just so friendly and accomdating. We can't wait to return!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lesley and Xavier were fantastic, they give so much of their time to the guests, we cannot speak highly enough. They entertained us with an excellent dinner with the other guests around their dinner table with excellent food. Breakfast also was first class. The swimming pool was a bonus.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very peaceful and gorgeous location. INCREDIBLE gastro dinner prepared by the hosts. Xavier and Leslie made excellent recommendations and took every effort to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lesley and Xavier were amazing hosts. We had dinner and breakfast and both were our favourite meals during our stay in France. Our room was clean, comfortable, bright and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. The hotel is set in a beautiful secluded valley surrounded by trees you would think you are miles from anywhere but in actual fact you are so close to everything, including the autoroute. 2 days was certainly not enough time to unwind and enjoy being here. We would certainly stay here again if we visit this part of France again.
Cons: nothing, everything was impeccable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is how heaven looks like, the French countryside version. The hosts are beyond words and will go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and well pampered. You need to eat here, we have enjoyed all the breakfasts and a dinner, it's a must to stay here for dinner. Both Lesley and Xavier make you feel like a part of their family. Delicious food, comfortable setting, the accommodations were great, high quality. Would definitely come back and we'll be dreaming about it for a loooooooooong time from now on. Region wise you are in the middle of everything, so you can easily drive to a lot of great places to visit from here.
Cons: I liked it all, what a great experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts, best breakfasts I have had anywhere in the world. Excellent location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hosts, very knowledgable about the region, very friendly and obliging. Lovely breakfasts on the patio . Excellent dinner by our hosts.
Cons: difficult shower as it was in a high bath, otherwise the bathroom was excellent. We didn’t realize the room with a view was 3 flights up. The room was a bit cluttered for its size.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, cottage superb with private pool, owners very friendly and helpful !
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: All beds and pillows in France have been hard by North American standards but it is obviously how the French like them.
Cons: Mattress and pillows were not to our liking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a amazing stay! Swimming pool, wonderful spacious and confortable bedroom. Loved EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This accommodation is quite something... We slept in the family room on the ground floor, which is huge. The lovely interior is true to the historical character of the mansion, so you get a four poster bed which looks antique but is quite comfortable (the matrass is just a tad too soft for us, but that's personal of course). Breakfast choice is not huge, but sufficient and the hostess personally bakes a different cake each day, so do try that! The hosts are very friendly people, provide you with all the information and tourist tips you want, and their St. Bernard dog (Jazz) is a big friendly teddybear who loves to play with you if you want, but who doesn't bother you at all if you don't feel like paying attention to him. The lovely swimming pool is definitely a plus in the hot French summer. The region is just wonderful, do explore.
Cons: Some extra cupboard space would be nice.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, and a charming building - hard to imagine anything more French. The booking.com reviews gave us a great idea what to expect, but these don't do it justice. Idyllic location and surroundings, with nature all around you - dogs, cats, chickens, donkeys, and a fantastic vibe of relaxation and happiness. Rooms were great - maybe a little warm for us, but we're Scottish and it was July in France so to be expected. Some road noise as you're right beside the road into the next town, and having the windows open at night to cool the room made this noticeable. The food was fantastic - breakfasts were great, and fun - everyone eats at one long table so you chat away to the other guests, who genuinely became friends over our stay. Take the opportunity to have dinner there too. I guarantee you'll remember it not just because of the very high quality of the food but the company is just fantastic. The hosts, Kurt & Caroline, are wonderful. Friendly, funny, interested and interesting. The fact that the other guests there during our stay have been going there for 20 years speaks volumes. If you're someone who likes to chat with others over breakfast/dinner, you'll love here. It has a really friendly, comfortable vibe from the very start. We were genuinely sorry to leave, even though we were heading to the South of France. Will we be back? Absolutely? Have we already told our friends how amazing this place is? You bet. They're already talking about a block reservation for a number of us to go there for a special celebration. As an added bonus, both Kurt & Caroline ride motorbikes, like we do. A well educated, well travelled, experienced and engaging couple who are perfect hosts.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay - like staying with friends and we will come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kurt and Caroline were great hosts. The most fun we have had on our vacation. Definitely get dinner there as they are both excellent chefs.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our flights through Limoges were easy, even though we had a slight delay going home as it's such a small, new airport. We were made extremely welcome by Corrine, Jose and Jaz (the lovely friendly dog!) throughout our 2 week stay. Every morning Corrine would provide a fantastic breakfast including home made cakes. She was always on hand and always busy! The apartment was extremely spacious and always kept very clean - beyond our expectations. The gardens are lovely and include a fair sized pool. Le Vigan itself is a small village with a boulangerie, charcuterie, a Spar and 3 small restaurants (which were closed on Mondays and had to be booked on Fridays and Saturdays). Easy access to surrounding areas on excellent roads. Would recommend Canoeing through Canoeing Sans Frontiers and Fo karting at a new centre in Cahors.
Cons: I thought I'd done enough research on the area but le Vigan itself was smaller than expected so our teenagers were bored as the weather was disappointing - thank goodness for wifi and a car! Lots of historic sights, beautiful scenery and gardens and plenty of river and lake swimming, cycling and canoeing within an hour' drive. Lots of markets too. Next time we would spend less than 2 weeks and include a visit to another area. The only very minor suggestion to improve facilities would be a shared washing room or kitchen instead of the very small inside pool which was closed anyway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly owners. Lovely fresh breakfast every morning, nice pool and gardens. Great location for the dordogne/lot scenery
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place, with a wonderfully warm host. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic - homemade clafoutis was amazing! Kids loved the pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the beautiful gardens, the creek that tinkles through the property, the spacious apartment, comfortable beds, 3 separate bedrooms to give our teenagers their own “floor”, delicious and generous variety of breakfast items, friendly host Corinne and playful “petite” dog, Jazz. Our stay was perfect.
Cons: That we could only stay one night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place neighbouring a nice town with a good situation to see attractions in both Lot and Dordogne. We felt great there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation and gardens wonderful, so many areas to find in the gardens! Breakfast was superb including home baking. Super location, just off the road, walking distance to Le Vigan. Wish we were staying longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were adequate for our stay, the location was fairly central to the amazing places we've visited: Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac, Domme, Roque Gageac and so many others.
Hôtel La Garissade - Coeur-de-Causse - Building
9
8.9 Excellent (246 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel la Garissade in Labastide-Murat, you'll be 21.4 mi (34.4 km) from Padirac Cave and 13.4 mi (21.6 km) from Musee Cuzals. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food, location, kindliness
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Garissade was just where we wanted it … mid way between Rocamadour and Cahors, two places we missed last year. It is a "pub" in a village with a great little restaurant. We had 2 hearty breakfasts and two delicious dinners whilst the car was parked outside our window. The owners and the staff were very friendly and there was the bonus of "Merlin" the dog who was a continuous sticker fetcher. Would recommend the inn and the Lot Valley for devotees of touring France.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The manger
Cons: The size of the bathroom and the toilet. Too much small.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Having found this hotel by chance, it was a very pleasant overnight stop, with lovely staff, a comfortable room, delicious dinner, a great breakfast and a beautiful location.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place to stay if you are traveling with your bike, quiet place in the countryside.
Cons: Maybe wifi could be improved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff! Clean rooms and great food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location , Marché des producteurs on Sunday, all facilities at walking distance, the terrace 1st floor ! The firework on July 13th !
7.0 Good
Pros: The room we had was very small and very hot. The shower room was tiny and we ended up with water everywhere . The restaurant however was excellent and this is a workaday town so nothing flash and the hotel fits the town. Perfectly adequate for our visit and the staff are delightful and very helpful and friendly. Good place to stay if you need to stop in this town .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location looks like next to highway, but you need to drive around as there is no direct road, still very manageable. The suff was very helpful, contacted before our stay for a dinner (we did not make use of it). Several parking places available right in front of the hotel. The room has own airco.
Cons: The breakfast was very minimal (OK, it is France), but pricey, which offsets the initial low price. Minimal amount of space in the room for four. Checkout early (10am), breakfast is until 9:30, but we knew it upfront.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were the last guests before the hotel closed for the winter season. The owner and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had an excellent and reasonably priced dinner at the hotel restaurant which was especially kept open for us. The wine list features some nice wines from the Cahors region (for example Clos Triguedina from the winemaker Baldès). The lovely small town of Labastide-Murat is situated between Rocamadour and Cahors in a region of exceptional historical and cultural interest.

Pros: Most friendly hosts imaginable! It was a pleasure to stay at the Inn!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hosts - room was clean.
Cons: No guard rail round the roof terrace, but as this was not used not an issue.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lots of thought about the decor and garden. Pradip and Alec were excellent hosts throughout and were able to give us invaluable tips when we were going out and about. Breakfast was good, particularly enjoyed the croissants. If visited the area in the future would go back again
Cons: Rooms were hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The management was warm, offering us tea and biscuits on arrival, wonderful, engaging and thoughtful. They covered every option and made our stay so much more than an overnight on a long joury. The room was beautifully decorated with quality art work. The swimming pool was clean and relaxing. The breakfast was super. We saw inside all the rooms and can warmly recommended all rooms and apartments. We look forward to visiting again on a Friday night when the village bar/restaurant will be open.
Cons: No changes needed - it's a winning formula.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners were extremely nice and helpful. They shared information regarding the local sights, where to go and what to see etc.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Extreme courtesy and availability of the owners, great breakfast, big room decorated with paintings and antique furniture, facilities available (swimming pool and billiard). In general very good price/quality balance, recommended. Freyssinet is a nice village sorrounded by forest, suitable for car travellers.
Cons: The room had 2 bathrooms: ensuite with shower, bidet and sink; another bathroom near the room with WC, bidet, bath tub and sink.
