The staff where very helpful, friendly & couldn't do enough or us. The rooms were spacious & comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The dinner represented excellent value for money as it included a pre-dinner drink & 2 bottles of wine. The dinner buffet would have been very monotonous after a couple of days.
The staff couln't have been more helpful. The room & breakfast both excellent. The dinner was poor, left overs, puddings displayed nightly were the same. Food was overcooked, poor quality, very bad value for money.I would NOT return there unless outside facilities improved and they got a new chef. Nothing was open for us outside. They hadn't tried and I would not return. Dinner was just AWFUL. Dry meat, stringy meat, canned vegetables - very very poor. 15 euros was too much for the food. Same soup 2 nights running. Left over meat heated up; Vegetables tinned; puddings the same night after night - the same puddings not new ones. I think Health & Safety would have a field day there!
The attention of the hotel staff Breakfast was served too late, it starts at 8:30 am
A lovely hotel with a very welcoming atmosphere, good and cheap buffet restaurant including drinks with a great waiter! The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The standard rooms have no adequate airconditioning, so rooms can get very hot especially on the upper floors.
It was a lot nicer than the pictures, or the google earth view. Staff smoking.
Excellent hotel. We stayed there just for one night, but we really enjoyed. If you visit the north of Portugal this is a very good place to stay. The service is outstanding. We recommend to use the restaurant. No problem to parking.
Excellent hotel with personality, quiet, 30min from Porto by car, cheap. Rich breakfast, very friendly and polite staff. Good beds, beautiful stone rooms. A bottle of wine and two small bottles of water were expecting us as a gift. Tea for free 24h. Nothing at all!
Friendlyness of the staff. Difficult to find
Charming room, calm and quite surroundings. It was cold (late November), there was a small heater available but too noisy to switch on during the night.
Very nice place: calm and quiet. Since I don't have GPS its not the easiest hotel to find
an old farm house, yet renovated and with very modern furnitures. very clean and highly maintained. location is a little bit far from highway, the room had 2 separate beds you could not connect together.
beautiful setting, very nice owner who was very helpful it was just a shame the swimming pool had been damaged and was out of use
Beautiful garden, great swimming pool. Difficult to find the way to the hotel, no sign posts or directions. Not all staff speaks English.
The garage arrangement. Steps from elevator to garage were difficult. Hallways were too dark. Food- dinner and breakfast is very poor. It did not taste fresh and was probally not as only 3 other people ate there. I have stayed in 5 hotels in Portugal and Pedras eubas was the worst.
nice big room and within walking distance of the arrivals hall at the porto airport.
lovely and comfort
The bathroom/bedroom was spacious
Room was clean and tidy and very close to the airport No, it was o.k.
No outdoor signs great difficalty in actually finding the hotel, Especially arriving in the dark
big room no airport shuttle early morning
The location next to Porto Airport makes it very practical for staying overnight in connection with a flight. The staff was not able to speak German or Spanish.
We took this hotel before an early morning flight departure. All I can say is we wish we turned up earlier. The hotel room was beuatiful and a great big spa directly beside the bed. Also came with an absolutely beautiful cot for our baby- one of the nicest I have ever seen.
The room was very generously sized and very modern. Because of the large amount of marble and wood used, the room was cold at times. Some rugs or artwork would have made it more pleasant.
very nice place to stay short walk to town nothing to dislike
the hotel was very clean and offered big rooms, good breakfast (where you could ask for Portuguese coffee)
Lack of warm atmosphere
No tea and coffee making in room
Kindness and attention of staff.
Face towels available - a rarity in Portugal Hard to operate card for power in room; plug in bathroom basin faulty and basin trendy but inadequate; both bedside lights on a single switch; room dark with slit window; no second chair in twin room; Room not really 4 star standard;hard to find by car if unfamiliar with town.
Easy access to the town. Quality choice of breakfast including bacon & eggs. A bit on the "neuvo style" hence lacking character. Overpriced when compared with IBIS and others equally close. Small TV.
In terms of value for money i would say that this was one of the best hotels i have stayed in, it was clean, comfortable and the staff very helpfull
Nice quiet hotel. I was treated with my breakfast iny room at no charge, nice! After breakfast I went down to the Spa where I enjoyed the relaxing jacuzzi, steam, and sauna. All included. The water in the bath was adequately warm however not hot and I like a hot bath. Also the towel warmer wasn't working, minor issue.
Large comfortable room and friendly staff.
Helpfulness & Friendliness of Staff. Food very good. The hairdryer
We loved the people who are doing the most they can for their guests enjoyment, the they were very friendly and helpfull .We got great tips for travelling in the area and we want to thank them for that. And the hotel is great' it was the highlight of our trip. that we stayed their only one night
The staff pretty much let you do things your way, and all extremely helpful when needed.
Attractive location. Great value for money, particularly with the room up-grade. Attentive and polite staff.
Beautifully set along the river in the centre of an old town. Very friendly service, good cuisine.
the village, staff, restaurant and service and the room
Beautiful views, very friendly and helpful staff. There were a lot of seating areas in which to relax. The bar staff had good memories and the restaurant was lovely. Great breakfast. Rooms extremely comfortable. Slightly difficult to find
this hotel/chateau is stunning. located in a small town- wine country is a 30 min drive. very peaceful. rooms were very bright and large. great food by the pool. amazing morning breakfast we did the tasting menu at the restaurant - bit old fashioned for our tastes. they are rated- but not the best meal we had. breakfast and pool food were great. staff were very friendly and helpful. a real pleasure for us
Very good service, excellent location
Very helpful and friendly staff. Waiter at breakfast was fantastic. Room was large and comfortable and far exceeded my expectations for the price.
Great location and very warm welcome. Staff were most helpful with recommendations for places to dine and drink. Breakfast was excellent with several choices and served at table by a very friendly waiter.
nice room.interesting design. comfort and clean.staff exraordinary helpfull and polite.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, great location and descent breakfast. Located 10min walking from train station and on the main square. Great for tourism or business. The Internet connection is unsecured and connection reliability was very bad from my room, breaking mainly during internet telephony. A colleague had good connection from his room though.
Clean, comfortable and pleasant surroundings Nothing
Rooms were spacious and very clean. Desk staff helpful and cheerful. The position of the hotel is perfect for exploring the area on foot. No it is very comfortable.
very nice hotel highly recommaned to any goal, either city trip or romance cann't realy think about anything wrong
good location. pleasant, helpful staff. comfortable , spacious room. good breakfast! for a 4 star hotel they could have run to fresh , rather than instant coffee at breakfast! Entrance to hotel was not clear.
The hotel is very well located, it is possible to walk from the bus station until there, it is in the historical center. The staff are very friendly and give lots of suggestion about where to go, what to see and so on.
Great location in centro with access for travelers with cars. Excellent friendly and helpful staff.
Non smoking room on a non smoking floor.
The hotel stuff were friendly and helping. The room was very comfortable.
The swimming pool could only be used in combination with a complete health program.
everything really, and the big room with a big view of the town...
It is very impressive place to give you all you need and what beyond your imagination. Breakfast with comfort and relax, hall with leisure and elegant music on the background, plus beautiful view from the window and enjoyable TVShows, make this four-star hotel where you want to be. It sites near the centro of the Vila Flor, which makes it easy for you to have a visit to this historical town Guimarães, the place where Portugal was born. The speed of Wi-Fi is somehow low, which was provided by Vodafone. What's more, the internet access will be out-of-date by 12hours after your first successful login. So you must get another one at the recepção at the 0th floor, although, that is free.
The hotel was near to the railway station which was good as we travelled by train from Porto. Check in was quick and the room we had was very good with a view of the city from the window. Did not use the spar or pool was was told by other friends who did use it that it was very good. Breakfast was good with a choice of hot or cold food. Would use the hotel again if in area.
The hotel was excellent, on arrival the gentleman on reception was friendly, efficient & had our rooms ready for us. The barman Gabriel Almeida was always there for drink & food, nothing was ever too much for him. The rooms were great as was the bathroom. I would definately stay at this hotel again. Nothing
Guimaraes is a charming medieval town with many attractions, good restaurants, tea rooms etc. Hotel de G is ten minutes easy walk from the centre and is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very welcoming, great buffet breakfast and good restaurant for evening meals.
On site parking available, a typical medium sized modern city hotel.
The hotel is on a good location to visit the old town of Guimaraes. Ask for a room to the old town side if you do not want to hear too much traffic noise and a railway line. Breakfast buffet was OK with a good choice. Everything was OK.
the magnificent setting and immaculate pousada
Beautiful old building and setting. Helpful and friendly staff. Dreadful food served for dinner - inedible , grey, overcooked and reheated 'roast duck' as main course was appalling. Would not eat there again and would be wary of other pousadas for food.
lovely cloister and pool. too large for my taste also, I was in the modern wing where rooms were not as attractive.
Charming hotel. Hotel staff were decent as well as kind. Room furniture was enough and well renovated.
The widely-spaced layout of the different facility areas detracts from the ambience expected.
The pousada had beautiful stone walls, marble floors, wonderful great open halls filled with portraits and antiques, and a wonderful eating area. Families were welcome. The beds were totally inadequate; hard beds!!!!
Huge, comfortable, and well-appointed room in an old monastery. Great bathroom. Nice view over the city. Easy parking. Dinner was very ordinary and not a good value. The hotel is very hard to find (even with a GPS), although reasonably convenient to Guimaraes itself.
Staff is very, very friendly. Location is overwhelming, beautiful, one in a kind. Because of short-stay visitors (most guests stay only one, two or three days) the hotel only comes to life after 16:00. Nice and quite though !
Lovely place, wonderful tiles, beautiful gardens. It's a bit out dated and far from Guimaraes. Food at the restaurant could be better.
The stuff was quite helpfull. There was a free parking in the hotel's garage. The building itself is an unattractive monster, and is situated near railway.
Good location! Staff very helpful with car parking. Clean rooms but a little small.
The room was big and clean. The hotel stuff was friendly.
Great views from spacious room. Includes a plentiful breakfast and garage parking. Very good location to where explore the town. Next to a train station. Room a bit stark.
Location and sighseeing
large rooms, nice view from the breakfast floor, friendly staff, restaurants nearby
I liked the fact that the hotel was close to the centre of Guimarães and the price. The room was also comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok. I did not appreciate the look of the building, I mean, it's an old building I know but it could be renovated.
The location, the staff and the size of the room. It needed a little more of insulation from both the inside and outside noise and also we got a very loud AC device, impossible to use during the evening.
view was great , close to historical centre , nice large rooms it was very plain inside , and no free access to wireless , just an slow old computer in the lobby
Hotel was very central
The hotel is very cosy and the staff is friendly. No free internet service available in the room.
Its very good value for money. Good rooms with good price for a very good price
It's a good business hotel in a town near Porto with a friendly staff. There's an excellent connection to Porto (5 minutes walk from the hotel). Maia itself is just a suburb with only a few restaurants.
All staff in the reception and the bar spoke very good English and were most helpful. Were asked to put our car in the hotel garage which has very difficult access, narrow, curved and steep and caused damage to car on exit. Would normally have left car in the road outside the hotel but during our stay the road was being dug up and we had to move car. Staff were excellent in trying overcome the problem.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was very good and with great variety, the room was very good with enough space to move around, as was the bathroom. The only thing that "bothered" me, although its probably like that on most hotels, is the shower has a bit too low flow for my taste. The access to the garage is quite difficult for big vehicles, however I got a parking spot right at the front of the hotel in its reserved spots. Besides this two places to park, they also provide parking on a private parking lot around 50m from the hotel, however it closes at midnight. If you go during the weekends you have lots of places to park around the hotel, during the weekdays the problem are the parking meters (during the weekdays you have to pay from 8h to 20h). However, I stress that I didn't have any problems with parking.
Very handy for the airport when you have an early flight and free parking outside hotel which is a bonus. Only minutes from a metro station where there are frequent trains to central Porto. Extremely comfortable beds and good breakfast.
Close to the airport and to the metro station Very few restaurant in the area
Nice friendly staff, clean and tidy hotel throughout. Limited parking with little chance of using the garage if you have a large car due to difficult access.
Services was very good.
They had a great breakfast; nice firm beds; good lighting; near tramway; and nice to have a hair-dryer. Very quite hotel.
welcoming, excellent facilities, friendly staff, excellent spa & indoor pool Canned music at breakfast! Could also be more variety of food at breakfast
Everything was relexing. Nice people. Nice place. Nice food at the breakfast. Very good! Everything was good!
The staff, bedroom and food. The hotel is still being done. It should be noticed what is available at the hotel information page.
We have appreciated very much the attention of all the staff. The hotel is new and we feel comfortable there. The rooms are nice and clean. The toilet is also modern and easy to use. The location is good. It is relatively far from the city and is quiet. However, it central to the Douro area and is a good starting point to visit it, including Amarante, Porto, the river Douro, etc. For those who travel in family, it is also important to say that there is a recreation park nearby, the "Bracalândia" park, which is a sort of little "Isla magica". Finally, there is also the pool in the hotel. But for more about the pool see below. The spa and pool are not exactly owned by the hotel, but it seemed to me that it belongs to another owner. The staff there is not as nice as in the hotel. I think they try to keep a quiet ambience in the in the installations, and so they react a little bit negatively to the presence of kids. Actually, there is a restricted period when the kids are allowed, which is from 10h-12h and 15h-17h. We did not know about that, and had to wait to get in! Apart that, the rest was ok.
The hotel is very comfortable. good breakfast.
Staff,rooms and food very good
Very nice, modern hotel, good location
We needed to leave reasonably promptly in the morning to catch a flight and the hotel were a little reluctant to begin breakfast before 7.30am
Beautiful modern hotel in beautiful surroundings, will return for sure. Breakfast coffe not served at tables. I am a coffe drinker and had to get up many times just to get a cup of coffe
the room food and spa were very good. the hotel is easy to find and in walking distans from the city
