Convenience for city centre Possibly a little expensive
Good basic hotel and service with helpful staff meagre supply of tea & coffee, suger, milk in a double room, adequate only for single occupancy. Breakfast toaster was virtually useless.
Spotlessly clean, central Easy to find but difficult to access by car. We booked a twin-bed room but it was a double. However, nobody took us to our room, and we were too tired after a long drive to drag our luggage back to reception and ask for a change of room.
Comfortable modern hotel near 'old town' Whilst there was a charge for parking it was very convenient and ticket was verified at reception.
Overall I thought the staff were great, really helpful and the cleaner did her best. I felt the rooms were a little run down and poorly maintained. Fittings were loose and windowsill coming away from the wall. Bathroom fittings were worn and shoddy. The car park below was appalling and very badly lit a nightmare to park in.
Modern, no nonsense, close to centre of town. The TV in our friends' room did not work.
Good location although parking was a pain Inadequate coffee in the room; shower screen was useless;
Staff were very helpful and provided useful information and guidance in English which was a plus as our French was limited.
the location was great, the room was spacious, modern and clean, food was good, and all staff were friendly,
Hotel reception staff very efficient. Had a small query regarding booking and they resolved it promptly before travelling. Managed to get a promotional deal which reduced the cost from what was originally quoted. Look out for them! One of our party lost a coat in one of the local hostelries, and the reception staff offered to retrieve it for us and post it on. Has now been recieved within two days. Noothing of note, although would suggest you check the cost of breakfast carefully. It cost us a lot more than we anticipated, and the costing was not clear before travelling. Parking to unload in front of hotel could be awkward.
Excellent restaurant and friendly staff
A bijou hotel, with well appointed rooms. Close to the town centre with safe parking. The restaurant was expensive but absolutely excellent. I have not eaten such a good meal since I was at Le Manoir in Oxfordshire. A real delight. The room was rather smalll. Also the lighting onto the courtyard was on all night and it was rather like daylight in our room all night.
Very good location in the centre of Arras. Parking was not a problem at all. No
everything especially restaurant
The hotel is very nice and the restaurant is excellant
Courteous Staff and comort and cleanliness n/a
Good substantial breakfast I chose this hotel to see visit the underground bar - sadly it was not open to the public????
The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast good. We selected the hotel as we had stayed before and it is most convenient to the town centre of Arras and also has parking. We, could, thus, arrive by car, park it, and then walk to the town centre from there. Nothing to say here.
We did not stay there - our room was fooded so we were rebooked into the Hotel du Golf
The hotel has been modernised since I last stayed there and is very convenient for the city centre. The staff are not very impressive. The receptionist was pleasant but didn't really know what she was doing and failed to pass on our request for a table booking to the restaurant. The restaurant staff were reasonablty efficient but lacking in any charm.
Conveninec to the Auchan across the road, where good food was available. The lunch we had on the Saturday by the poolside was marred by two things: a rabbit appeared to drown in the pool and none of the hotel staff paid any attention to this. The club sandwich was terrible, a lone rubbery slice of chicken breast looked measly and was inedible. My wife said the fruit salad was good.
The staff was very friendly, the rooms were superb, calm and good beds and linens. the shower was difficult to use
I think this is a way above average hotel. It is more than clean and comfortable and we liked it very much. Staff were also good but it took a long time for someone to return to the front desk to check us in. Other than this we would stay there again. See above.
Great Stopping point - an hour into France off the chunnel/boat. Clean, comfy rooms and quiet. We will use again. Clean travel cot for baby and freebie treats for toddler.
My stay was extended due to auto repairs, the staff was most welcoming, very friendly and most accommodating. Loved the use of the hotel outdoor pool, and the convenience of their restaurant. Would prefer to have had air conditioning.
the room available was smoking only...v nasty smell
Good comfortable hotel at the right price €59 per night. Free wifi as well. We didn't eat there but if you do, avoid the Chinese restaurant round the back. Awful!!
Very clean, friendly hotel with a good restaurant. Hotel serves Madras curry with semolina which was bland.
Only one front staff and so sometimes need to wait for check-in / out because a lot of people are waiting.
Clean comfortable rooms, close to the motorway, ideal when travelling to and from the channel
Holiday Inn Express provides a great stay at good value. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. We had our own controls for air con/heating along with tea and coffee making facilities. The design of the bathroom was ingenious with a door that allowed the toilet to be used separately. The hairdryer was in the room - all designed to allow two people to get ready at the same time. Close to Place de Heroes and Grand Place. Buffet breakfast good for the price Paying for parking was a minor inconvenience but really didn't detract from our stay
This room was very comfortable and clean, staff were helpful, the location was fabulous and breakfast was very good.
the breakfast room entry card - difficult to get it to work also two false fire alarms
central position; easy access to town; polite and helpful english-speaking reception; car parking (though not cheap) have used this hotel for the third or fourth time now and the continental breakfast choices have clearly deteriorated eg one morning no fruit, second morning no toasting bread, etc. One morning nowhere to sit as every table messy tho' the one girl present was doing her best. Campanile continental breakfasts much superior ( and less cost?)
It's location , easy to find and secure parking Nothing
Quality of the room for the price... very nice
nice location breakfast not very good, bread and vienoiseries not good
Good staff, positive action when inoperative aircon reported. Good location with safe car park No cooling in lobby on top floors
Quick service. Polite staff. Good choice at breakfast. Hair dryer in room. Although the room was non smoking previous guests had obvoiusly abused this rule. The towels were very worn and discoloured. No teamaking facility in the room
It was near to the countryside for cycling to visit the WWI battlegrounds and cemetaries that was the goal of our stay.
The breakfast Did not have internet access. It was not well insulated for noise
rooms were clean food was plenty and that is it the lady that checked us in was nice and polite she help me out as i only had 6 rooms and did not book mine, but after she went the staff was poor and that let her good work down. when you ask for anything it was though it was an effort to get it. they shut the hotel up at 2115hrs on saturday night with out letting us know the bar would not open saturday night. it was though they did not want the custom
Cleanliness and basic comfort, good restaurant
We thought the hotel was impressive and in an ideal situation for the businessman and leisure person alike We arrived at 1730 hrs on Sunday to find the reception desk unmanned and a notice telling us to press a button on the base of the phone which we did but no-one appeared. When we phoned the hotel number all we got was a recorded message telling us that the hotel desk was manned 24/7! We waited over an hour until a cleaner turned-up who went and found the receptionist who arrived without a word of apology, had difficulty in finding our reservation on the computer and as we discovered subsequently booked us into a single room and our friends into doubles. Everyone else treated us well thereafter but by then the damage had been done and we would recommend that the hotel look at its process for covering rest periods and ensure fully experienced receptionists are employed on Sunday afternoons
Quality, soundproofing, and cleanliness Sign posting/directions.
Good room size and furniture/fixings. Circulation areas good/good early breakfast times & good breakfast especially egg/bacon.Good car parking. All staff met ( reception & cleaners courteous and efficient. Signage on roads and booking advice for locating could be improved.
Good location, large room, looks like freshly built.
really impressed by size of room ,really comfortable
Ease of use and price No hot food at breakfast available exept for one spoonful of scrambled egg. At a cost of 6 euros I think this is not acceptable. Have stayed here on previous occasions and have been satisfied with the breakfast. The person in charge had a take it or leave it attitude. If I use this hotel again I will certainly leave it.
Excellent soundproofing, bearing in mind it is next to the motorway and a very busy rail line, we were not distubed.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Location is great if you have a car.
Close to the highway, made for a good overnight stop. Good value for money. Clean, good sized rooms. Breakfast could have been better.
This hotel has all the essentials for travelling on a budget and in need of a simple place to stay for an evening or couple of nights. There is a grocery store within a 2 minute walk and also restaurants within a 5 minute drive.
Convenient, all necessary facilities. The bedroom was a little squashed for three people.
Friendly staff and good food at a reasonable price Battery hen accommodation
location, ideal stopover after getting off ferry before long motor cycle trip to Southern France n/a
Everything. Meals and service combined for a very good value overnight stay. No
It was nice just a problem with the language.
Convenient for Autoroute. Accepts pets in the room. Basic but sound facilities Last year we could take our dog into the dining room but the policy had changed this year without warning. The facilities such as drinks and towels were not sufficient for the number of people staying in the room.
value for money and in particular the dinning was great value, rooms are dated and need a makeover, however still A1 value overall
Nothing in special. The 2 stars are really stars in everything...
Room was functional, with good layout and all the required basic amenities. I would have prefered a cleaner floor as I'm used to being barefoot in a room.
The room was clean With space to move around in. The breakfast could have been more choice for the money.
Pleasant chalet style rooms with tea/coffee facilities, good shower, nice balcony, trees around and a sense of privacy When we booked, we were told that the room would sleep 4, it did not. Fortunately we had a camp bed with us. Breakfast was expensive and we did not take it. Right by the main railway line to Paris (but trains did not keep us awake). Directions to teh hotel were plain wrong. Found teh hotel by chance and good signpost reading bu passengers in teh car.
It was relatively easy to find. The member of staff on duty in the morning did not seem interested when we reported that the guttering immediately outside one of the 2 rooms that we were in leaked very noisily through the night, causing us to have a very poor nights sleep and flooding the area outside the room.
all was OK, at the beginning was there cold.
Staff very helpful and approachable; very comfortable double bed; good food Floor in the room was dirty - had been hoovered but not washed, so we ended up with dirty feet
Easy access. The restaurant buffet.
convenience to the motorway decor a little tired, noise from nearby road
The usual standard campanile facilities. You generally know what you are going to get. A little tricky to find as sigposting ran out after first turn off main road.
the location was convenient
Bed was extremely comfortable; food in the bar/restauramt was surprisingly good. Staff helpful. We struggled to find the hotel, even with the directions supplied.
The staff were courteous and helpful the restaurant was fine with a friendly atmosphere. The Hotel location was difficult to find,But it was the first time we had been to Arres France
Access to main roads and ease of getting into town centre, value for money for buffet breakfast, good short stop over while travelling around country
close to Arras centre, only a short bus ide away. Easy access from the motorway and only an hour from Calais One of the rooms smelt of stale smoke despite being a non-smoking hotel
It was clean nothing around the hotel, had to drive a significant distance just to find a decent meal.
Large room, comfortable beds, clean..
