It was a nice experience to stay in a new refurnished hotel with a lot of cozy facilities. I hope to come back soon to this hotel.
Nice classic hotel with friendly staff. Nice restaurant and convenient Spa and swimmingpool Nothing to report
excellent breakfast This was my second time at Palmenwald. The first time, although I requested a twin room with single beds, I got a double bed and a room with a picture window into the bathroom - nice for a couple, but not for two middle-aged travelling companions! The second time I requested a double room for a couple, but got a room with two single beds. When we asked for a change of room, we were told that there were no double beds - that was the "Bulgarian" style and we should push the beds together, even though the bedheads and bedside tables would then be out of position. Clearly this was not true anyhow, because I had previously had the opposite problem!
Breakfast was great, rooms very comfortable, restaurant food also great. Good range of facilities and friendly staff.
Very nice restaurant, good breakfast
Good location at city center. Nice restaurant.
The restaurant is top class for a very fair price Disabled persons should be warned that there is no elevator. Price for stay should be 15% less
clean, well appointed room, good new compact bathroom, free parking out front of hotel on main road hotel locked on arrival ,unable to check in until 5.30pm, located on busy road, traffic noise in room did quieten down late in evening
Friendly staff and owners created a good atmosphere for exploring this wonderful area of Germany. Excellent breakfast and very clean well appointed room.
Hotel staff was very friendly and spoke English; breakfast was included in room rate and was very nice (fried eggs on request); centrally located for stores and restaurants Hotel restaurant is very expensive, so ended up eating at a very nice brewery in town; room is small, but still could accomodate a family of four comfortably
A very well run hotel.Excellent breakfast.Typical German hotel that has been in same family ownership for years The evening meal was expensive meaning we ate elsewhere
The staff was excellent and the rooms were very clean. The hotel is close to many restaurants and shops. IThe hotel is located along a very busy street. It did not look as if the hotel has many rooms that are not located next the the street. We stayed in August and had to open the windows. The road noise was significant and went until very late into the night and started up again very early in the morning. So, if you plan to visit during the summer and cannot get a room away from the street, then I would recommend looking for a quieter location.
This was our first hotel after our trans-Atlantic flight and we slept like logs. The beds were very comfortable.
Convenient to the town square and train station. Very nice breakfast. Very homey and comfortable.
The owner was impressive; her enthusiasm and pleasant demeanor was such a plus. We also had dinner at the restaurant. What a lovely surprise...fine dining in this charming little town! Absolutely no complaints. All around, just a pleasant surprise in this unassuming little hotel.
The professional, friendly attention of the owners and employed staff, combined with the clean and high standard room were a welcome respite during our two weeks abroad. We truly felt at home in Hotel Adler. The quality of the food in the restaurant was also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our night's stay, and would welcome an opportunity to stay again in the future. We found the high quality down pillows too soft... one of us gave up our pillow so the other could put two together. We would have liked some options in pillows.
The hotel staff is extremely helpful, in particular they did whatever they could to make our little daughter (5) stay as pleasant as possible. Besides, the hotel restaurant is very good value for money. Finally, rooms are comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We booked as we needed a room while in transit to Austria. The hotel was most helpful. The room we were alloted had a nice balcony and was well furnished. We had an excellent evening meal in comfortable surrounds. We shall certainly stay there again if in the area, perhaps for more than one night.
It was nice, clean and the staff was friendly. The location is central and as such very convenient.
Welcomed warmly by owner clean, orderly and complete appreciated free internet and phone very nice breakfast and hotel restaurant excellent None
familial atmosphere, kindness, excellent situation in town
Good reception Noisy through night at our friends window whivh looked on te car-park
This hotel was really wonderful. The owner was kind and nice, and even loaned us some of her sons toys for our son to play with. the town was quiet and pretty - and a good location for exploring the black forest. Great hotel, and a really great price.
The friendliness of the staff/owners.
room was very large.
Location was good
This suited our purpose of a base in the middle of the Black Forest. Fantastic Brew Pub with excellent food in close proximity. The shower was a moulded unit in the room, so felt a little bouncy when you were in it. Sloping roof above bed kept catching me out, maybe not good if you're 6'3", but maybe not all rooms were like this. A little charmless and maybe we could have got more of a flavour of the area in a different hotel. A practical place.
Wonderful family run atmosphere. Patient assistance with non German speaking guests. Great breakfast. Lovely patio-cafe under enormous tree where city life could be observed. Accurate answers to travel related questions. Thoroughly relaxing.
