Pros: As a couple we had a large room with a double bed and a pair of bunk beds. This room also had a balcony which was nice to sit outside and relax. A nice en suite bathroom too. A generous breakfast is provided and I could park the car on the driveway. We were on a road trip and stopped here twice, on the outward and the return leg of our trip. Conveniently situated near the motorway. Nice host who speaks good English. Very helpful.

9.3 Excellent (61 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful location yet an easy drive from the motorway. Quite quirky and quaint. Furnished with lovey up- cycled furniture. Bed very comfortable. Large kitchen dining area and guests can make tea and coffee there whenever they want. Ample breakfast with meats, cheese, warm bread etc. Owner gave us a recommendation for a place to dine in nearby Saint-Avold and we had an excellent meal there.
Cons: Shower gel container was empty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet, peaceful, a little bit quirky, great food, and very French which is just what we wanted....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cosy, a bit quirky, good location - not to far from town or the AT but quiet and rural.
Cons: Nothing. It was very comfortable and the hostess was most welcoming and helpful.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing.the whole experience was terrible
Cons: We were made to feel totally ill at ease and unwelcome. I phoned to say we would be a little late ( i speak good french) as the traffic was heavy. I was met by a sigh and a reluctant acceptance. We arrived at 9.00pm.we were taken up to our rooms.some other guests were downstairs in the same building.my son has downes syndrome. He often makes a low pitched moaning sound. The lady owner told brusquely us to make him be quiet as there were other people sleeping.(It was 9.20 pm).As he is severely disabled (something which must have been obvious to her) we were not able to do what she demanded. Clearly we will always be considerate to the needs of other guests but this was inconsiderate and insulting and made us feel totally ill at ease for the rest of our stay. She then asked us what time we would like breakfast. We replied 9.00 am (hardly late ) to wich she replied with disdain that she would lay out the breakfast at 7 and to make sure we cane down no later than 8.45. We met her the following morning. We were told 3 times that the checkout was at 10.00. We had specifically chosen this accomodation as it had a swimming pool and before a long journey a swim relaxes my son.My wife cleared the room and paid (by 9.30) and i took my son fir a swim.At 10.20 as my wife was bringing towels down and we were getting out the male owner came to brusquely tell us that we had to get out of the pool as he had to prepare it for the next guests.(the check in is listed as from 5pm!) This couple made us feel unwanted And very uncomfortable. This is not a particularly cheap bed and breakfast and it was a total nightmare for us.

Pros: the room's very clean and tidy, the would stable carved out of a old cascina. ther bathroom had a cozy jacuzzi type bath and roomy. parking outside in a driveway next to it. pet firendly (with 10euro charge) owner very friendly and informative. though english speaking was a bit limited (but made the effort!). he also makes his own honey!
Cons: breakfast a bit poor (in france i expected to have croissants). toilet a bit loose, had to be careful (separate from the main bathroom). no shampoo/body wash, only bath salts. the room has absolutely no wifi, though a communal terrace next to it (outside) has it.

Pros: Convenient location for trip from Germany to CDG. Spacious room with seating area. Large bathroom with whirlpool tub. Breakfast included in the price. Free parking. Excellent value/price ratio.
Cons: Third floor walk up steep spiral staircase. Appeared to be an attic overflow room as it appeared to be fully booked.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was our second time. Beautiful old building, excellent breakfast, very friendly owner. It is close to the highway, no problem with pets. Many thanks.
Cons: A heating system to be considered. It is not cold, but it could be improved.

7.5 Good
Pros: Cleanliness. Calm and quiet area. Parking space. Bakery and supermarket nearby. They spoke english. They privided heater to our room because of cold in there. Room size was good.
Cons: Electric kettle wasn´t provided. We paid more than was written on booking.com. Maybe they added to the cost our 2 years old son what would be ridiculous because they didn´t provide any cot for him. Quite expensive for accommodation in the village in the midle of nowhere maybe brakfast should be included in the price to reflect the true cost of it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money! Local food and drink served from the hotels own restaurant. Language problems overcome by smiles and gestures to the benefit of the customer. Good parking for motorcycles (garage)!
Cons: Breakfast started too late (08.00) for me.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were in a middle of a long trip across Europe, moving back to our home after a few years. The hotel was the ideal place to rest after a many-hour drive. The room was clean and comfortable, the parking secure, and the breakfast good. A steak restaurant can be found, very conveniently, close to the hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff. Hotel more expensive than NH Hotel the night before which was amazing with pool and gym which we didnt need, but was in the price. Tea, coffee making in the room would be great
Cons: nothing

Cons: There was dusty on tables and some spider net in the top corner of the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great value! Friendly staff at reception, decent continental breakfast (great coffee machine, warm croissants, and you could even boil your own eggs to your liking). Comfortable beds, great shower, convenient and safe parking.
Cons: Nothing! Location industrial but it was perfect for us as we needed to stay somewhere passing through the area!

Cons: Location was a little remote
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was really comfortable and cleaned properly. So quite all around.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room is clean and tidy, beds pretty comfortable
Cons: 7 euro for a basic breakfast is fine for adults but no discount for children, so 28 euro for a family, we went to MacDonalds instead. Staff member on arrival late was very slow took almost 15 mins for check in after a very long journey

Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff. Nice park next to hotel and possible to walk on riverside.
Cons: Single bed was very narrow.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location, near a beautiful park with a lake, playground, zip line, walking trail, and an ice cream shop/restaurant by the lake. It was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed strolling by the lake in the afternoon. The staff was very nice and the bed comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom was a little small, especially the toilet area with barely enough room to unzip your pants before sitting down. Breakfast was a bit chaotic because of a huge bus full of guests who had breakfast prior to us. Breakfast hours were from 7 am, (and that's when we arrived since we had to leave early) and the guests were just leaving the breakfast room so there was a huge mess on the tables and there were no croissants, just a few slices of ham and dry slices of cheese. The coffee machine broke as soon as we tried to use it - probably from the huge amount of guests who had just used it nonstop. The huge amount of emails I received from the property prior to arriving asking for a good review here was a little annoying also. I leave reviews because I appreciate other people's honest review and I am not going to omit information because the hotel requested it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the most of the package
Cons: the hard mattresses

5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: There was a distinct smell of smokers
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A phenomenal patisserie is connected to this very European hotel. Excellent coffee and breakfast when you walk downstairs. The room, while expectedly small, was comfortable. The location within the village was charming. We took an evening stroll around a nearby square where there were a few interesting looking cafes. It is older European charming and quite convenient to the American cemetery we came to visit.
Cons: Travelers who cannot climb stairs need to know there is no elevator. Only minimal English is spoken so come prepared to whip out your best sign language. The dinner offered would have been better to pass on and explore the nearby cafes.

Hôtel Mercure Forbach - Forbach - Building
10
8.0 Excellent (1,465 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With great transport links to Saarbrücken Airport and the TGV station, this Mercure hotel is also handily located just next to the Burgof Conference Centre. Surrounded on all sides by Forbach's swimming and tennis facilities, this contemporary hotel, located just off the exit to the Paris-Frankfurt motorway, is within easy reach of the town centre. The air-conditioned rooms are perfectly designed for relaxation. Enjoy a meal on the restaurant terrace in the evening.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was exceptional. Breakfast buffet atypic for France. Very original menu with special touches such as orange halved with maple syrup and nuts, or smoked Rhum.
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly reception. Plenty of parking. Close to motorway and my customer.
Cons: Enjoyed the lunch buffet but had diarree the next day (didn't take dinner). The other day i arrived back at the hotel at 17:00 and the buffet was already filled with food for the 19:00 start of the dinner.. Some didn't look fresh anymore. Scrambled eggs for breakfast didn't look nor taste like the eggs you do at home.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is perfectly fine and had no issues
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent. Restaurant could do to be warmer.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff here were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was also excellent. Rooms were fab too. Really was good value for money.
Cons: As is often the case with hotels of this type close to good roads and motorway access, the surrounding area can be found "wanting", many of the buildings in the locale are run down and in need of repair.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff. Very good and attentive. Food was kind of fine dining meets rustic but it was good old fashioned and very tasty with large portions.
Cons: The room was boiling hot and turning down the thermostat achieved nothing while opening the window made it arctic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All very nice. A well kept place. Well received. Nice restaurant. But the breakfast was best. Very lovely service and beautifully prepared dishes. We took a picture of the egg dish and also of the evening main dish.
Cons: Nothing
5.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast selection was good. Dining room/breakfast area is nicely furnished and does present a relaxed atmosphere. Access to and from the motorway is also very good and despite the hotels proximity to the main road it is peaceful and quite for a good nights sleep.
Cons: Evening meals are of mediocre quality and do not appear to be freshly cooked - more like pre-cooked and warmed up. The tube in one of the shaving lights that run down the side of the mirror requires replacement and due to it's constant flashing could not be used as it was creating a strobing effect which is not pleasant. The transformer to the low voltage light in the toilet also requires replacement as it kept cutting out leaving you in total darkness in the toilet - not pleasant ! There is a Japanese lady on reception duty who could also do with a few lessons in customer relations. Both my colleagues and I found her to be rather rude in her approach to questions we had and she gave the impression that she was too good to be in the role that she was doing and that it was beneath her to deal with any of the questions we had.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Upon arrival receptionist called Lily just gave us random keys to rooms we had not ordered. It took over an hour to get one correct room out of the two ordered. We specifically asked for rooms with showers and were given rooms with baths. We were a family group with one wheelchair traveler and one elderly person. Lily was very rude and not at all helpful. Luckily there was another friendly receptionist called Rita who helped us. Food was very poor and we felt as if we were in a transport cafe!!! On the other hand breakfast was really good. Carpets in the halls of this establishment were all stained and dirty. The price of staying in this 3* hotel was exorbitant and far more than we paid the night before in a first class chateau. A really bad experience.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly host, able to use garage which was really appreciated.
Cons: Church bells were very close to the property and ringing every quarter hour all night which meant we didn't sleep well at all. Towels would have been useful, there was no hand towel or floor towel in the bathroom. Breakfast very basic. In time when the property's finished it'll be lovely but at the moment it felt like we were staying in a building site, which was not mentioned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good Breakfast. Not very far from motorway. Friendly host. Lovely property
Cons: There are no cooking facilities but a nice restaurant in the next village
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice place to stay. Feels very much like a home with some guests staying. The guests and owners got along very well so would definitely recommend to a fluent french speaker. Shower was good. Owners tried to bridge language barrier. Seem like nice people. Cheapest accom in area
Cons: The church bells every 15 minutes were not suitable for a business stay. Obviously this isn’t the fault of the accomodation but be aware. Literally every 15. Stained duvet was questionable. The breakfast had biscuits etc but no cereal which I thought would have been a staple of a euro B and B. Small towel for a man my size.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: We did stop over with kids on the way to Switzerland . Room was on 2nd floor with shared bath room . But I have selected during booking family room with toilet . Early morning I asked about breakfast they said it’s finished . I tried to contact property owner but no response . All night near by town bells rings every 15 minute which disturb kids all night .

Pros: Friendly. Live music the night we stayed. Good breakfast. Quiet room. Blackout curtains.
Cons: Tiny hole in one of the bedsheets. Only left with a small amount of toilet roll between 4 of us.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was a quiet location , just off the motorway. An overnight stop for us . The lad on reception was very friendly . We had live music in the dining room which was very good. The bed was so comfortable! And as it was hot the air on worked well.
Cons: The food choice was ok. But not as good as we have had on a previous stopover. Salad was a huge helping of lettuce with a little cucumber and dressing . There was a poor selection of breakfast, no egg left . Food uncovered with lots of flies . We had to ask for milk as it was empty.the bread was stale . So we were hungry .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable stay. Excellent breakfast. Very good internet. Room plenty big enough. Convenient location. Great car parking. Staff good.
Cons: Nothing - absolutely no complaints. I couldn't find the butter, but that was my fault - lol. It was a great stay and I'm looking forward to going back.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was great, staff were very friendly, good selection of food at breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is in need of a re-refurbishment as it is looking tired and dated
8.8 Excellent

10.0 Excellent

Cons: Some of the evening meal choices could have been a little simpler

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly waiter
Cons: Simple French breakfast too simple.....only some baguette and butter and jam. Processed orange juice. Coffee ok
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly run family hotel Small menu selection but dishes were well presented and cooked.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel was easily accessible and check in went quickly and smoothly. The bed was fresh and clean and there was a desk in the room.
Cons: The place needs general refreshing, redecorating. It shows bright on photos, but the reality is not quite that. The shower is built so that the water wets the other part of the bathroom (and water didn't go down properly). It would have been of help if the receptionist had spoken at least some English.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great service, great breakfast and easy access to the motorway. Thanks for taking care of us!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff. The hotel was clean. The food was nice. Good value for money. Easy to find. excellent for a one night stop.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly on reception, pets allowed
Cons: Doesn't live up to its name - certainly not modern but looked quite run down, as did the whole area. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Beds/mattresses were old and well used. I chose it to try an independent hotel - something different to the French budget hotel chains but unfortunately I would have been more comfortable and had much better value for money at one of those nearby.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly family run business nice Traditional restaurant excellent period saved decoration
