10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome from Peter and his wife was superb, We were offered upgrade to family room but the original room, which we were shown, was really nice and we declined the upgrade. All door locking and room arrangements were carefully explained. They were both very kind and could see this was a special trip for us. Breakfast in the morning was superb and actually filled us up for the whole day going into the evening. All in all it was a fabulous night in a well run establishment where customer care is the number one priority.
Cons: It was all great. We would have liked another night together, but life commitments didn't allow that. We would definitely go back again for the welcome, the clear communication and the care (we asked for and were willingly given a late check out time when we asked beforehand). And the farewell was well done too.

The rooms are decorated to a very high standard with everything you could need provided, even down to face flannels with the towels and a bottle of water each day. 6.3 Good
Pros: The place is very clean. Very nice breakfast cooked as ordered.
Cons: The first thing we noticed when we arrived was that the place is up for sale and its well out of the way. After introducing ourselves to the gentleman owner explaining that we know we're an hour early for checking in, he replied your room's not ready so go sun bathe on the beach about 4 hours and that he's waiting for all his family that's coming to stay, then he walked us out. I said we have been travelling nearly 4 hours to get there and need to freshen up and change, We Will Return in One Hour ! One hour later our room was ready. Our room was at the top which must have been were all the seagulls nested, they kept us awake from 4.30am. That morning we packed up and loaded the car then went for breakfast. During breakfast the gentleman owner kept laughingly going on about how he wished we were all Germans so he could start the air-raid sirens for us to leave ! After breakfast absolutely tired out we said thank you and turned round to leave. All of sudden The Lady owner Snapped my head off and Said nastily You Have to Pay Me !!!! Eh ?, I said I thought you took the money from my bank automatically ? Sometimes we do sometimes we don't she replied. How the hell was I supposed to know ? I paid and we got out of there asap.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beds were amazing and the breakfast was incredible. Along with the awesome friendly hosts.

Welcoming couple and they even accomodated my gluten-free diet without any notice (they even change the biscuits in my room for GF ones straight away). Thanks again for that nice attention I had a "light breakfast" both mornings and it was more than enough, toast, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruits, fresh juice, jam ,butter, coffee. Pros: The location was perfect for wandering around the town and the beach front. Parking was great. The room was large and having the continental breakfast provided in the room was nice. Easy to find with the purple door and sign.
Cons: The property was a bit tired. Pillows were flat and firm and not especially comfortable. The shower was disappointing. Hard to get the temperature right and weak flow. The staff we polite but you had to call for them as they had a more hands off approach to the management of the guesthouse. Could be nice but also a little isolating.

The hotel was very clean with everything you would need in the room, including a very comfortable bed. The hotel decor was very nice, simple and attractive with just the right amount of colour displayed in an artistic way. The dinning area was adjacent to the lounge bar creating a natural flow from one to the other, with comfortable sitting areas ideal for single occupants or gatherings of family and friends.
Cons: I don't think there was anything I didn't like. I suppose my only thought would be the main staircase being in the bar area. As a single occupant this could be a little bit daunting.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Hotel location was very good on the seafront. breakfast was not bad but the coffee was terrible, from a coffee machine instead of freshly brewed. The room was clean but smelt of cigarettes.
Cons: I chose the most expensive room, but it wasn't a sea-view and it was at the back of the building facing another building and above the kitchen so I got all the smell of the cooking in the evening and first thing in the morning even before I opened my eyes. Also the room was reeking of the smell of cigarettes, which I'm allergic to although I asked for non-smoking room.

Pros: The room was comfortable and clean. Dinner was lovely and staff very courteous.
Cons: I was travelling for work and didn't have the opportunity to use the spa. However, I did try to book a massage but was told there were no appointments. It would have been nice to have been offered options of what was available. I phoned a few times to see if I could book other treatments and find out what facilities I could use but got an answerphone each time. I had to leave very early in the morning and was unable to get a room service breakfast - in fact, it seem to surprise staff that I should even ask! As a hotel of this class, I would expect to be able to get room service at any time.

Pros: Location was great, room was bright and airy and the bathroom was a nice size...although the shower should be on the wider end of the bath.
Cons: The bed was extremely uncomfortable, something wrong with the mattress ..it felt lovely to sit on but lying on it made you feel like you were on a slope and ready to fall out at any time.. so couldn't sleep properly.

4.6 Okay
Pros: The property is close enough to the seafront but far enough away to be quiet. The newly refurbished bathrooms are lovely even if the taps are plumbed in wrong.
Cons: The property was very poorly maintained with carpets coming off the stairs and the bedrooms were dirty looking with all furniture broken, the bed was very uncomfortable but clean.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice amount of space in rooms. Lovely to be so close to the sea. Parking was simple and easy.
Cons: Certain areas were a little tired and needed a little work to tidy up. Three adults 27,26 and 18 checked in as adults and given children’s breakfast. Two other adults given standard adult breakfast. Had to walk through laundry room for breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beds were very comfortable. The room and bathroom was very clean and attractive. Very quiet too which was good. The lady that was looking after the place was very friendly, helpful and very nice.
Cons: No hairdryer in room. To be fair I should have asked for one, I'm sure one would have been supplied. There was three very small containers containing shampoo, shower gel and conditioner but there was no soap to wash hands so we used the shower gel but with the three of us there that ran out pretty quickly!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was absolutely amazing spot on
Cons: Was a little over priced
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were met with a friendly well presented staff member, the room was very much the same, well presented, clean and tidy. The beds are so comfortable it was difficult to leave them in the mornings, the breakfasts were perfect and enjoyable.
Cons: There is nothing not to like. When you are greeted with a smiling face, it makes a great impression right away, and that was how we were met each time. To be honest, the only thing I didn't like was leaving!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel appears to have been recently renovated or refitted with very high quality fixtures and fittings. Spotlessly clean and I was surprised to find a kitchenette in the room which would be great for a longer stay (we were there for one night).
Cons: The rooms were quite hot as it was a hot day and would have really benefited from a fan in the room. It was difficult to get a signal for the TV and I had to hang the aerial out of the window and keep adjusting it.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The environment, decoration, back and front view, including the toilet and bath room
7.5 Good
Pros: great location a short walk to the town and the beach and a few shops nearby onsite free parking but limited space , good breakfast , very friendly staff , the room was nice and clean and tidy , good value for money
Cons: it was all you would expect for a guest house at that price so not much to dislike

Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff , clean couldn't fault it. Fish restaurant attached with GlutenFree options.
Cons: Being celiac they could hold a loaf of GF bread in freezer for toast at breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large room with good sized bathroom. Excellent value for money. Lovely views of seafront. Great location with attached fish and chip restaurant (Gary's) which served an excellent and freshly cooked haddock and chips. Full English breakfast included which was freshly cooked.
Cons: Water pressure in shower was a bit low. Failed double glazed units spoilt the view a bit and didn't contribute to the Wow factor when entering the room. (as an aside, there are many firms which will replace just the DG units and not the frames which would help with budgeting. Also, the units could be replaced as required and not all at once)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasent staff and food brill room very clean and very big and clean
Cons: Fish and chips shop in hotel not ideal but needs must
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean but starting to get a little tired. We had a nice Seaview from the 2nd floor but the water pressure in the shower was very low. Didn’t spoil our stay. On a positive note the breakfast was excellent and the waitress was delightful and really welcoming. We will definitely use it again when we’re in Clacton-on-Sea
Cons: Just the shower water pressure
7.0 Good
Pros: View was great and the staff were friendly. Chip shop next door was great too. Room was standard, but we wasn't expecting the Ritz. Great value for money. Staff left a massive balloon in the room for my daughter as it was her 4th birthday - very nice touch. Hotel is in a great location. 5min walk to the arcades, bars and restuarants. Free parking was a bonus too.
Cons: All good.

Cons: It was all fine.
9.2 Excellent

Pros: Only stayed for a stop over, was perfectly suitable but I'm sure restaurant would have been nice from what I saw
Cons: Only thing that bothered me was room was a little warm, literally nothing bad to say
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was excellent. Our room was fine, with plenty of space for our clothes etc. The bathroom was tiny. Luckily we are not big people, I can imagine it could be a problem for larger guests. We didn't have breakfast included and didn't use the bar.
Cons: The tiny shower room
