Pros: Everyone was very friendly. The service was excellent. The breakfast was way above expectations. The spa on the 10th floor was a bonus.
Sink into your room's very own open-air bath and listen to the sounds of the birds chirping on the wind. You may even hear a chorus of insect calls. Spend a quiet time doing absolutely nothing. Passed on from generation to generation for 180 years since its founding by grandma "Okiku", the hotel is now in the hands of its ninth generation of the family.

Pros: The food is good and the service is friendly. The private outdoor onsen inside the room is very good. The sakura blossom outside the balcony is nice.
Pros: The hotel staff gave us a ride to the dining place for dinner and took us back safely. It was very nice as we didn't have to walk so far at night.
Cons: Maybe having an option to have breakfast in our room would be great. Just a light breakfast, not like the breakfast in the dining hall.
Pros: The staff were fabulous and extremely helpful. I would stay again on holiday.
Cons: Would have been great if there was more room and facility information in English. However on arrival I was provided with some regional information that was very helpful.
Pros: The room with onsen was great with a nice sitting area that allows you to sip tea and gaze at the scenery outside. It's the place to go if you really want to relax. In spring, you will be able to see cherry blossoms from some rooms and they even offer you a night tour for cherry blossom gazing at just 300 yen per pax. There's also public onsen available. Food was elaborate and delicious. Service was impeccable upon check-in and the reception staff can speak good English. The meal service ladies were gracious and polite. Breakfast was nice with set meal and even a buffet for sides! Their miso potato is really delicious. The location is a short drive to hitsujiyama park where you can enjoy sights of shibazakura in late apr - early may.
Pros: The private open-air bath and the hot spring bath were amazing. The room was traditionally furnished but with modern amenities. Tatami floors are so charming. I was ready to check-in in Japanese but they presented a staff member which spoke good English that helped me and showed me my room. The service I received overall was fantastic, I can’t stress it enough.
Cons: A bit more clear information regarding the breakfast. Don’t get me wrong; time and place were properly described in English and Japanese, but personally I rarely eat breakfast as my stomach is often rebellious in the morning so I skipped it. At check-out I found out that I was expected at breakfast and since I didn’t show up I had to pay a cancellation fee. Minor stuff but could be useful information for other travelers. I don’t fault the property for this really, they have their policies. My stay was still amazing!
Healed by the sound of the stream, and awaken by the sound of birds singing. This inn nestles in the midst of majestic nature of the famous Mt. Akagi. In the rooms 'Tsubaki' and 'Sakura' in the annex 'Azumaya', you can enjoy the cloudy hot spring of Akagi.
Ogano Guesthouse is a 2-star property situated in Ogano. With free WiFi, this 2-star guest house offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge.
Pros: The host is amazing; does everything to make sure guests are comfortable, have needs accounted for, and equipped with the best information to take on the day. Also an adorable Shiba Inu mix mentioned in other reviews is still very genki!
Cons: It's a little ways off the beaten path, but that can be a pro and a con! Take the bus for Ogano Shako from Seibu-Chichibu station. Must go outside to access the shower in a separate building.
Pros: We stayed there just one night because our trip plans were tight, but oh man how much we wanted to stay! We arrived really late at night and they were waiting for us so we won’t get lost. They greeted us with warm smiles and prepares phrases in czech what made the whole first expirience the best it could have been. They have a really cute and playful pup named Anko (sweet bean paste very popular in Japan). The host invited us to join fireworks with them, the whole expirience was just wonderful! We payed extra for breakfast but, and it was totally worth it! I hated soft tofu, oh my god but that was the best I ever had! They let us stay even after the check out in the big livingroom where Anko lives and it prepared us for our long trip. The surroundings are just pure nature what was a balsame on our nerves after all those big cities. We will return and we will stay there at least for 3 days! We absolutely loved it!
Pros: Loved playing with the dog!! And the owner took us in her car many places - she's very kind
Cons: It's a bit out of the way but worth it
Pros: Everything was great, perfect place to rest. The living room is awesome.
Pros: We had a wonderful, comfortable stay at this clean and cosy guest house. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful and we had all the amenities we could want. The breakfast (additional fee) was absolutely delicious, home-made Japanese food from local produce. As a bonus, there is a very cute dog who is a lot of fun! It's off the main tourist routes, but if you're in the area it is a charming location with woods and streams and the town has anything you would need for a short stay (including a 7/11).
Pros: The hostess was extremely wonderful, and very accommodating. She also explained the usage of the facilities to us which was very helpful. She has an adorable young pup named Anko. We got a good workout from her. Breakfast was simple and healthy. Love the living room. Very comfy and nicely laid out. There's a guitar and a Japanese instrument for us to play. Overall, a great place to stay. Too bad we couldn't stay longer, only one night.

Pros: The fantastically friendly and most helpful staff. The best location. The spotless clean room. Great free coffee and cold beverages service. Free public bath .
Cons: The mattresses were unbelievably stiff, very uncomfortable.Woke up with terrible back pain.
Pros: Everything is good, location is super close to station, cost isn’t high, and complementary breakfast. I’ll definitely stay here again.
Pros: Comfortable room, cheap price for single room with small double bed, delicious breakfast, near to Takasaki station, has public bathroom, coin locker, coin washing machine and cloth dryer, overall very equipped facilities

Pros: Building very beautiful and authentic in a comfortable, homey way. Though it's a bit of a walk to the train, there is a bus stop a 2-minute walk away, and the hostel itself is a good place for hiking trips. Food was very good and I enjoyed the chats!
Cons: Bedroom very cold! I could have used a space heater. However, the heat being in the main room meant I was encouraged to go out and chat with others, which was a lot of fun.
Pros: Probably the best host I have met in my trip. Friendly and helpful. Also, this place is close to nature, allowing options of hiking or taking a bus to Mitsumine Shrine.
Cons: It depends on people’s standards.. For me, the river flow is a bit noisy, and the room is not as clean as that of a hotel. The window is not completely sealed so it can be cold at night.
Pros: Very helpful and nice host, he drove us to an onsen and from the train station. The dinner is simple, but very good. The "living room" is perfect to exchange with the other travelers.
Cons: The guesthouse is a bit away from everything.
Pros: This is a lovely small guesthouse, that was traditionally used by pilgrims on their way to the Mitsumine Shrine. Don't expect the luxuries of a hotel or a traditional ryokan - you have a bedroom, shared facilities and a common room (where you eat dinner and breakfast). The food is simple and wholesome, and the host is personable and helpful. Visiting the local onsen is recommended, as are the many walks and other local attractions. Additionally, there is a small soba restaurant down the road that is well worth a visit.
Pros: Host is very friendly, and the onsen nearby really enjoyable. the meal was even bigger than expected. An amazing experience for those who interested in the japanese culture
Pros: Tachikawa-san was very helpful and cooked really delicious meals. The location is right in the Arakawa river valley so the views from the guesthouse are really fantastic. It has a nice and homey feel to it.
Cons: If you’re a westerner and don’t really like washoku or Japanese dishes, then the food might not be for you. I think it needs a little bit of tidying.

This hotel has 6135 square feet (570 square meters) of space consisting of a conference center and meeting rooms. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Great breakfast!
Pros: The staff were exceedingly hospitable and gave absolutely amazing service. There was an envelope we delivered to the hotel from abroad to get there in time for our arrival, but it ended up coming a week after we left (due to issues from abroad). However, the front desk staff were fully aware of the situation and were extremely helpful in helping us track down the package and receive it. I can't thank them enough and am so grateful for their kindness. The room was nice and spacious. Location is great! There's three or so department stores around you so lots of places to eat food.
Cons: The shopping area in the station has a weird half-floor thing going on, so was kind of confused how to get to the hotel in the beginning, but after following the signs from the Shinkansen gates to the hotel it was fine. Taking two elevators to get to your room is kind of a pain, but what can you do. There is no microwave in the rooms or on the floor, only at the front desk, so we took food to the front desk to heat it up, but the front desk were extremely nice about it. There were two small annoyances, but nothing major enough to change the score: 1)One of the drawers didn't close properly and 2) One of the carpet tiles was not flush with the other carpet tiles.
Pros: It is located within Takasaki Station which means you don’t need to leave the building. So no worries if rain when you arrive by train. The bus terminal is outside the station. Many eateries and shopping inside the station and outside the station. Outside the station, there are free bicycles for you to ride within the town area, so very convenient. Just ask the tourist info counter in the station.
Pros: Good location. It's next door from JR Station.
