9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great room, very friendly and compliant owner. Exellent italian breakfast. Option for continental breakfast as well. Private parking.
Cons: No complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was like home away from home. The breakfast was excelent The host was very kind
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best B&B in Sicily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Here we have had a very wonderful stay. The B&B is just some minutes' drive to Taormina, the room is nicely big and clean, the breakfast delicious and plenty. The hosts Salvatore and his sister are very friendly and helpful. We got great hints from Salvatore about parking in Taormina and a nice fishing village to visit. Try the little village Marzamemi and the Spaghetti alla Bottarga - the taste of sea!
Cons: That we had to leave so soon...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Private parking for my motorcycle. He managed to make us early breakfast. Good italian breakfast. Owner was very helpfull
Cons: Nothing. Everything was ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotless and superb, and I felt like at home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a family owned and run B and B, around the block from the beach and a well stocked supermarket (read cheese, fruit, salted anchovies, wine, amaro, lemeoncello, pastry, bread, etc)...perfect for anyone with a car wanting a base to go to Taoromina, Messina, Savoca, Etna, Roccalumera, Aci Reale etc . But that's only half of the story...the other half is Salvatore and Alessandra Palazzo, the brother and sister who run this wonderful B and B. Breakfast is a pleasure, Sal's English is superb, his knowledge of the area and Sicily in general is that from an educated attorney turned B and B host, and can I mention he took three hours from his Saturday, drove us up to Savoca, where the Sicilian scenes from Godfather One were filmed, and walked around that town with us on a lovely sunny day, casually strolling the deserted streets of this beautiful hill town..engaging in the most delightful conversation, giving us one of the gifts that are not mentioned in guidebooks...the causal Sicilian stroll and gentle conversation on a beautiful sunny June day.. I can't say enough about Salvatore, you'll experience it yourself and also be charmed by his delightful sister Alessandra. I know the reader of this does not know me from a hole in the wall, but read all the other fine comments on this place...you will not regret it. Finally, one of the great things about this place is you can email Salvatore with a question or concern, and you'll get an informed response . Just a place that put's a smile on your face because of the people you're dealing with....the best.We are an older couple but this place is good for couples of any age.
Cons: I can't say I did not like anything about this place...the only thing is that you will need a car to stay, but parking free and plentiful, since public transportation would not allow this town to be your base of trips. But with a car, the location is very good getting you easily onto the Autostrada or SS 114. Incidentally, I had read the conflicting good and bad stories about renting a car to drive in Sicily. We arrived in Catania, where we stayed for a few days, great place that city, and rented a car from AVIS located near the harbor, run by another salvatore...completely trustworthy man, classy operation, may not have auto transmission, check ahead, manual is fine except if you're not that experienced in some of the steep hillside villages, do some research, know a little about Italian road signs, etc go for the extra collision insurance for peace of mind, don't skimp money wise in this regard. I would also trust Salvatore's, of this B and B, advice or recommendations on a car rental if you wanted to rent a car from this area..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Salvatore is an amazing host. He made our stay home away from home. Gave us great local tips to make the most of our stay in Taormina region.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't fault anything. The newly-refurbished room was large, comfortable, with high quality furnishings, and impeccably clean. It also had a big, sunny terrace. Free secured parking on site gave me peace of mind, as my van was full of belongings for a camping trip. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The sibling (brother and sister) owners spoke good English, and were friendly, easygoing, and helpful. Salvatore even took time out to accompany me in my car and show me some of the local sights, including the marvellous village of Savoca (from The Godfather), and asked nothing in return. These two certainly know how to run a B&B. I was very impressed.
Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was early and very good, caprese, salami, cheese, bread, fresh fruit and a nice cannolo. All prepared by the owner Salvatore. Safe place to park motorbike inside. Very good restaurants just 3/4 minutes on foot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spend here one night. Great location. Clean and crisp room and bathroom. One block from the beach and a few blocks from good restaurants (Talía). Excellent WI-FI. Salvatore and Alessandra are very attentive hosts. We chose the “salty” breakfast. It was plentiful and delicious (the best on the trip through Sicily). Salvatore took us on a trip to the nearby famous villages. Free private parking was A+.
Resort Borgo San Rocco - Savoca - Building
2
9.6 Excellent (598 reviews)
Overview Reviews
San Rocco is a medieval village that has been transformed into a 4-star hotel. It offers a swimming pool and a top-quality Sicilian restaurant. Set in Savoca, it is 30 minutes' drive from Taormina. Rooms are scattered around the resort and all have a balcony, terrace or patio overlooking Savoca, the mountains or coast. All rooms are air conditioned and feature an LCD TV with Sky channels. Breakfast is buffet style at Resort Borgo San Rocco. The restaurant uses the freshest ingredients and serves the finest wines. Reservations must be made that morning. Borgo San Rocco is just 10 minutes’ drive from the beach at Santa Teresa on Sicily’s east coast. The local area is ideal for outdoor activities including hiking, cycling and horse riding. Savoca features in The Godfather film and you can still visit the famous Bar Vitelli.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a beautiful stay, even tried to cancel our next hotel in order to stay longer.. The owner and the staff are sweethearts, they make every guest feel extra special. The hotel is located on top of a hill, the drive up is a bit of an adventure but worth it. The dinner selection is amazing (a la carte) and the pool is very unique. We’re definitely coming back!
Cons: there is no ATM in savoca, so you need some cash in case you feel like having a walk to the main square and sitting down for a coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Borgo San Rocco is the best. Vittorio and Francesca offer the most genuine warmth and welcome we've ever experienced. I don't think there is a more spectacularly located hotel anywhere, no photo can do the location justice. Despite the feeling of seclusion and the views it's still close enough to lots of sights to be used as a base for exploring. The food is exceptional, the best we had in Sicily and as an added bonus Chef Francesco plays the piano... We are already planning our return, we miss you.
Cons: The only minor gripe would be that there is a smidge of noise transfer between the corridor and the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just returned home after a week at the Borgo San Rocco celebrating our Honeymoon and without a doubt we made the perfect choice. The Owner Vittorio and his staff (Francesca in particular was fantastic at organising all our trips and the most welcoming person I have ever met when arriving each morning for breakfast) were so attentive and just made the stay so relaxing. Vittorio on arrival took us to the kitchen with other new arrivals and began to cook fresh pasta with fresh tomatoes and various other ingredients whilst filling up a glass of wine for each of us. We then sat down to eat with around 10-12 people and Vittorio must have opened around 10 bottles of wine whilst we all chatted. The views and pool are unbelievable. The food is ridiculously good at the restaurant. It was hard to go anywhere else to each, the menu changes every single day and the wine (Red, White or Rose) was fantastic. Close by to other nice bars just a short walk away. Just a great place and you will not be disappointed. Whether you go for one night or 1 month you will have a great time and met a few couples who return to Borgo San Rocco each year and I can see why.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived at reception we had the most fantastic welcome. The friendliness , genuine warmth and kindness from the staff and owner elevated this beautiful hotel to an outstanding one Our room was gorgeous and the view from the balcony is breathtaking . There is a fab pool and poolside bar where you can eat and drink . If you have dinner here you will not be disappointed. We will certainly come back !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting : beautiful. Up on the mountain. It is quiet. It is relaxing. Brilliant pool. But the real difference is made by the people who run it. The staff is very gentle, incredibly helpfull. The restaurant is very nice, but if you want to eat at the seaside, it's only a 10 min drive down the mountain. Don't be scared to drive in Savoca, a Mercedes Vito passes everywhere, but a Fiat 500 is more comfortable... . Vittorio, the owner is a one of a kind. No doubt you're going home with a nice story to tell. He has the gift to make people feel good, and drinking and eating is part of it. Emotional man.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff: extremely friendly Location: next to the sea (10 m to the beach) Rooms: clean Bad: memory foam mattress (extremely comfortable/helpfully for my spine problem) Very very good location for a holiday, situated next to the beach. All the people are very friendly. (Who give a refreshing drink to a stranger and expect to pay next time/next day? Who give a gift just because you was there?) Staff don’t want me to pay the price for the room until the end of holiday and just after I confirmed that all things was ok. Certainly I’ll return here! Graze mille x tuto !!
Cons: Breakfast! Because “colazione” is not breakfast for nonitalian people. But I’m not italian and I understood that.

Cons: Hot water ran out before finishing a shower both nights. Barely had time to wash my hair let alone take a full shower. Typical tiny shower. Bath lights above mirror didn’t work. Had to bring a table light in. Had to pay for room to Cafe owner. B&B owner unavailable.

Beautiful view from the balcony to the nearby valley, outside the table and chairs, ideal place for spending quiet evening after long day. The town itself is tiny, quiet and cozy. Next to the apartment the bar where Michael asked Apolonia's father to let her marry him :) Location perfect - for longer trips you need a car but for local nice walks it's exactly next to everything you need to meet in Savoca. Parking nearby - the owner provides a parking ticket for the duration of the stay. We are very pleased with the stay.

Pros: The room was excellent. Very spacious, nicely decorated, very clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful. She speaks English well. Because of circumstances they did not serve breakfast at the B&B. We could have a coffee and a pastry (or granita) in a coffee shop nearby. It was basic but we could sit outside with seaview. And for the price we paid we do not complain at all! Wonderful place and highly recommended!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our host, Cristel was fantastic! She made every effort to provide a luxury bnb experience. The property was lovely, stylish and fresh. Breakfast was outstanding..everything was fresh, even made to order eggs. This was our first stop in Sicily. It’s a bit off the beaten track. Cristel was most helpful in her recommendations and directions.
Cons: Wonderful in every way. We have done a lot of traveling and stayed at many bnb’s. This was by far our most memorable stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cristel is a wonderful host and very helpful about the area and with any problems that arise (thank you!). We had an early flight and she gave us breakfast before official breakfast times. The bed was extremely comfortable and the house is immaculate. There are only 4 rooms so it's not crowded. The location was a little unexpected as it's in a residential area of Rina, but it's a good base for Savoca (6.5km by car), which is beautiful and has one wonderful restaurant. It's also easy to reach Taormina and Christel will show you where you can park there.
Cons: takes a long time and through the town's main street to reach the motorway.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We have spent our honeymoon at Lemon House. Everything about our stay was perfect! Room was beautiful, light, spacious and very clean. The place is so calm and relaxing and Christel is the best hostess and it was Her, who made our stay unforgettable. She was very caring, helpful (planning trips, recommending restaurants, making reservations..), honest and we loved to just chat with Her! Breakfasts were amazing (try the homemade Pistachio Cream!). The food was always fresh and high quality. The location is good for exploring the east of Sicily. It's not very close to the beach, but we absolutely didn't mind. Lemon House is really luxurious B&B and we enjoyed our time there. Tomas & Pavlina
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christel went above and beyond to make our family feel at home. We reserved all four rooms for our stay and Christel’s impeccable attention to all detail insured that everyone had a fabulous vacation. Breakfast was elegantly displayed and served. The house is decorated beautifully and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable, extremely clean, private and peaceful. We also had the pleasure of meeting Emma and Masamiliano, a true family experience. If you are looking for the comfort of home while you are traveling, The Lemon House will certainly meet all of your needs!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Christel, the host, was amazing! She spoke fluent English, and also could speak German, Italian and French with ease, among other languages. The hospitality was perfect, with great conversations and recommendation of what to do in the area and where to go etc. Most of the food was home made, and served like a Michelin restaurant. We could not be happier. The location is a little out of the way, but a few minutes in a car and you are either on the beach or in the resort of Savoca. But don't let that put you off because everything is always a fair walk away, the resort is very widespread. Overall very happy and would recommend
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, great place , breakfast amazing
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lemon House was everything and more a luxury BnB could be. The owner, Cristel is an excellent host who knows how to run a business, provide excellent service and go way beyond the average. The property is new, immaculate, stylish, with excellent amenities. It is a ways from some of the local sights however with Cristel’s directions and WAZE, we found our way around. I would recommend this experience to all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Christel was a fantastic host, so welcoming and helpful during our stay. She was highly informative in regards to day trips and about the local area. Christel gave a list of recommended restaurants in many different locations and was happy to book us in for the evening, The breakfast was fantastic, even when there was only the two of us staying in the B&B there was a huge variation of savoury items, cereals, jams, spreads and sweet treats. The room and the outside area were spotless, it was clear to see that Christel had very high standards and she would bend over backwards to make us feel at home. We would go back without hesitation.
Cons: If choosing this place be prepared to travel to restaurants (usually up hair pin bends) as there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance from the property. However, don't let this put you off as the recommended restaurants have spectacular views and the food is a taste sensation!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The key to this experience is Crystal. So engaging and helpful in every respect. A really lovely experience. We felt like one of Crystals family. The boutique nature of Lemon House encourages discourse with other guests and was a highlight of our stay. Returning to Lemon House after a sojourn to the busy tourist locations was like a sanctuary. Don’t miss Savoca ( Godfather territory). Excellent restaurant , bar and easy stroll to take in sites and atmosphere. Crystals recommendations re restaurants, parking , destinations were a boon. Thankyou.

The facilities: room (bed, bathroom and balcony) and pool are in a clean and modern state. Great location from the beach and a 15 min drive to Taormina.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Small but great facility, location is quite good (quiet neighborhood, 10 mins walk from beach). Good airco, fair WiFi. Very clean rooms and rest of the facility is also very clean. Lovely swimming pool that is never crowded and always has sunbeds available. Having said all that, the biggest plus are the excellent hosts (Isabella and Giovanni) that will do everything to make your stay a pleasant one. Good to see that places with “the personal touch” still exist! Furci Siculo and surroundings are fairly small and not too crowded (mostly Italian people). It offers nice beaches (mostly sand, but small stones near the water) and a couple of good restaurants. If you are looking for party-time including huge crowds and many tourist shops, this is not the place for you. If you don’t want all that, you will have a lovely time! You will need a car if you want to see something of the island.

Pros: Mr. Pietro is the perfect host. The apartments are new, functional and ideally clean. There is a small functional fridge, ideal for cold drinks. The apartments are just two minutes walk from the beautiful beach. The parking lot is in front of the apartments. Do not forget to visit the local bakery, which is on the road to the beach. You will find plenty of delicious arancini, pizzas and ice cream.

Pros: We really liked the quiet location in a small town, but still very close to the beach, restaurants etc. The hosts were really friendly and gave some good tips for the area. Breakfast was really nice, different every day, and we even got a pistache granita from a local bakery one day! All in all a very pleasant stay!

Pros: The apartment was very pretty and with modern design in a old traditional house. It was very practical for our summer holiday. Hosts are very nice people. Location of the apartment is in a very quite area, perfect to relax and sleep well.
6.8 Good
Pros: Views from apartment were excellent. Apartment was very tidy and well equipped.
Cons: No local restaurants for evening meals. Very run down area. Impossible to find (we had to phone the owners). Parking was on a very narrow road. Breakfasts consisted of sugary cakes and coffee (Sort of expected more choice). You needed a car to get about. Roccalumera is about 2 miles away which is the nearest centre and only food on offer was pizza, no other restaurants seemed to be open but there were two rather scruffy supermarkets selling basic food. May be more on offer later in the season but that did not help us

Pros: Carmelo is a great host and it was always doing his best to make us feel like home. The apartments are extremely clean and new. Very good shower, comfortable bed, great internet Wi-Fi, television, hair drier, good breakfast with fruits, juices, bread and croissants, everything was perfect. We had a suite with a sea view and it was simply amazing for our week in Sicily, you will have a sand beach in front of you. Santa di Riva is not very touristy (20 min by car from Taormina). However, you can find good restaurants around just a few minutes walking: California is open 24hs and over there you can have good and cheap meals, granite and drinks. Also, Pizza Island is great and truly (and delicious) Sicilian pizza, always surrounded by locals. We wish to be back soon and highly recommend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect, but the best was a host Guiseppe. So thoughtful, nice and wonderful! He made us special Sicilian breakfast called “granita”. He let us stay a bit longer so we can relax by the swimming pool. Honestly, the best and most welcomed place in Sicily!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful family welcome- couldn’t do enough for us! Only stayed one night but everything perfect and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Giuseppe the son worked so hard to make our stay perfect. The evening meal was delicious with home grown vegetables and specially sourced biological wine. Room was spotlessly clean and spacious. Artwork created by Dad is amazing! Such a talent and like being in an art gallery, fascinating. Giuseppe took us to eat lemon granita at family patisserie on the morning we left. As a granita fan I can award it 10/10 for taste and consistency. To top it all we left the hotel the owners of the largest zucchini we’ve ever seen, plucked from the garden and presented to us along with special green lemons, figs and chillies. A memorable stay with a lovely family, a true Sicilian welcome, thank you all. Viv and Gordon, Manchester, England
Cons: Nothing
