The swimming pool is quiet lovely. The AC quit in the middle of the night and we did not get any sleep. The bed was very hard. The food at the restraunt is of a low quality. The staff does not speek English very well but seem nice. Over all I think they are trying to conserve money for electricity to the extreem, to where they are not concern over their guest at all.
The accessibility of the "mare" . We were not impressed with the breakfast buffet.
Easy parking. Which is hard to find in Italy. Ocean front. No furniture in room. Dirty beach.
staff were great, hotel was as expected, nice place. We visited off season so the pool was empty, which did not suit us as we were with two small children who are not good swimmers, when we asked could we check out early to move to a hotel with a full pool, the staff were very understanding and very helpful.
view of beach poor breakfast
The view of the sea was great. The beach being right in front allowed for morning swims and late night walks. The bathroom facilities were clean and modern, as well as the room had all comforts expected of a four star hotel. The breakfast was a buffet and quite alright, even if not up to the standards of the hotel's stars. The pool opened only at 9 am in the morning and we were not allowed to enjoy it early in the morning before we had to check out. Also, there is a D.J. conducting "games" around the pool, who plays music at insane levels. We found this sort of entertainment tacky, which in itself took away from the experience. It was good news that the rooms were soundproof, as the music went on well past midnight.
The room was clean, large and very well decorated. It had a great view of the water and harbor. No warm or hot water for a shower in the morning and breakfast buffet selection was very limited. Staff did not speak or understand English very well.
Near the beach (walk over the road and under the railroad about 100 m). Clean and adequate space for a family of 4.
The staff - a family - were super charming and friendly. They were helpful and thoughtful and provided the basis of a perfect hotel visit. The view from the bedroom was wonderful - a blue Mediterranean sea, slightly spoiled by a railway line in the foreground.
The staff was very kind Very close to railway
Good restaurant, helpful staff Television on constantly in the dining room. Dining room also lacked atmosphere
good location friendly staff easy to find
In every way, I heartily recommend Hotel Zilema as the perfect place to stay if you are travelling in that region of Italy. The generosity and hospitality of the family and staff made us feel comfortable and welcome at all times. So many times they went out of their way to accommodate our needs: through translation (they speak excellent english), preparing meals for us (Leonardo is a fabulous chef!), helping with directions, making reservations, making sure we were comfortable in our rooms. What a terrific blend of professionalism and hospitality! This hotel was by far the best place we stayed on our 2 week holiday in southern Italy. By the way, the hotel is directly across the street from the ocean, so you can't beat the view! Not at all.
Very friendly personal an a very good breakfast
I have definately enjoyed the good breakfast and the pleasant personnel. I think they should change the design,it reminds me of the '80
Very nice service, it felt like family hotel. Simple but good breakfast with home made ckaes:-) Rooms were clean and well equiped. All together (room equipment and service) was on the level of more expensive hotels.
This hotel offered extremely good value for money. It was basic but clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, and we had an amazing sea view. The food was simple but good. We would definitely stay there again.
Friendly staff, good standard of accommodation
Excellent hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal location for exploring the locality especially if you like a less touristy resort, not too much English language spoken but the Italians were very friendly, understanding and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
An Italian experience.
The staff was excellent and it was particularly helpful that Johnny (spelling) had a very good command of English. He was also more than helpful with any questions we presented. The location was great as it was close to the train station and the beach was a short walk away. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing was the inability to get a glass of wine of drink in the evening at the hotel itself. It was necessary to leave the hotel for that particular wish.
The hospitality of the staff. Great people. Internet facility. This needs to be implemented. Then, the hotel will be perfect.
Impeccably groomed hotel with excellent staff and facilities. Ready access to the beach and although near enough to the hussle and bussle of the daily passagiatta yet sufficiently removed to be quiet on that front. Internet access is cumbersome and proximity to the railroad lines could be noisy and certainly disruptive.
When the initial Apartment suite was unacceptable they allowed us to switch to two rooms with a minor charge. Their definition of an apartment and mine do not agree. An 2 room apt should have a table, chairs and some sort of cooking facility with utensils cups & plates etc.
Spacious, clean and comfortable. Not very good lighting in our room.
noting special. it is too expensive when I compare with other similar hotels .
Friendly staff, hotel in excellent condition with clean modern rooms and good choice of breakfast buffet. Although we hadn't asked them to, they even picked us up from the local station. Really enjoyed it and will stay there again.
