Close to motorway. Good for one night on our way to Italy. Free parking for car. Clean rooms with good beds. Limited choice of meals in restaurant. Very basic. Breakfast very simple. When almost all guests have had their breakfast the waiter started to refill empty plates. All in all price/quality ratio for hotel + meals was too high. Can easily be changed and improved.
I love this hotel! Next trip Im back! Nothing...
Easy access from the motorway. No character, no atmosphere, very much a quick overnight stopover, up&away place.
The friendly and professional approach of the hotel staff. It made it pleasure to stay at the hotel. It is a hotel we frequently stay at when travelllng between England and Italy and have never been disappointed. The fact that the hotel menu did not seem to include organic or free range food.
The service at the hotel is excellent. The room was small but comfortable with an amazing view of the mountains. The breakfast could be better, the selection was extremely limited.
Beautiful location with mountains surrounding the village that the hotel was located in. Limited breakfast.
Great service, great views, and some of the best food we've ever had! After an epic day cycling through some high passes in freezing blizzards, this guest house was a godsend. Seriously, the restaurant was superb with great views of the mountains, and subtle flavours that are difficult to find these days. Delicious! We took the spa room, and though it didn't have a view it was clean and comfortable with a nice big jacuzzi that wasn't too noisy in its operation, and very soothing on our tired legs. The buffet breakfast was a simple continental affair with several types of bread, cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheese, and boiled eggs. All in all a beautiful little guest house with the restaurant being the highlight.
wellness area Poor breakfast, Italian speaking staff mainly, no TV, radio in the room, hotel far from everything
Hotel is sited in beautiful mountainous area, Room with jaccusi was good although there were 3 flights of stairs to climb with no lift to transport heavy cases. Room had one small window with no view. Restaurant was disorganised staff forgetting our drinks with the meal. We felt the Italian food was expensive here; Breakfast was no different.
We have stayed here twice now, en route to Italy. The hotel is not far from the motorway but feels remote in a pretty mountain village. The staff are always charming and anxious to please.
To sleep for one night
The quality of the food at dinner and that's it. Poor breakfast. Poor wellness facilities. Only 2 staff, one of which only speaks Italian and is not very friendly. Too expensive for the location (far from everything) and the quality of the rooms.
Everything! The staff was wonderful. Our room was perfect. For a weekend getaway, away from everything hectic, this place is perfect. And the restaurant has amazing food! Can't think of anything!
The Chalet is unbelievably gorgeous, set in the most beautiful surroundings with very helpful friendly staff, delicious food (even as a vegetarian!) we absolutely loved it and are trying to think of an excuse to go back! The bedroom was a bit disappointing in that the 'double' was a twin and the standard was really that of a european travel lodge. We were in a 'silver' room which didn't seem particularly nice. We were obviously paying for the setting rather than the room.
The room was quite nice and the bed comfey the breakfast was mediocre. The view from the room window the absence of heating in the room in the evening
Telephone response to on line booking which was very welcoming
We have visited this hotel on a number of occasions and always been very satisfied. Farticular strengths is the high standard cuisine and restaurant service as well as the comfort of the rooms. Above all there always a most friendly welcome.
Easy access to the highway. Not much choice for breakfast.
It was just fair. The location suited our needs as it was close to St. Gotthard's Pass and other areas we were exploring on our motorcycles. The parking for the bikes was ok and that was important. There were few places to eat close by. The hotel food was overly expensive for the setting, area, etc. So, we chose to eat at a pizzeria nearby, which was excellent. The rooms were adequate, but old. Good enough for a one night stay.
The friendly staff and very clean hotel
Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable, good breakfast, convenient location for travelling
The surroundings, easy access from highway. The pillows!!!
Quick clean and efficient. Food very good indeed. Simple car parking opposite. Some train noise. Not your fault.
The restaurant was very good for dinner. The beds were very squeaky every time someone rolled over you would be awakened by the squeak.
Very close to train station, but room was not noisy. Large size room and bathroom. Staff have limited or no English
It was adequate no
Optimal position for a stop-over during long trip. Right services for your money. Too many flies in the breakfast room.
Ideal location at bottom of Gotthard Pass. Directly opposite the station. Hotel was a bit utilitarian and with laminate floors throughout was very noisy. The disco attached to the hotel played loud music that reverberated through the room until 3am. Inconsiderate and noisy guests returning to rooms after the disco kept us awake until 4am.
Ideal travel trough Hotel, located immediatly next to Gothard Tunnel
the family room was huge and the staff were friendly and helpfull. The on site pizza restteraunt served great food
The hotel is in a good location if your traveling to Italy as we were (its right at the southern exit of the gothard tunnel),although no English was spoken it wasnt a problem, the propierters were very friendly.Nice resteraunt and bar. The end fell off the bed when we walked into the room. The breakfast was basic but plentyful
Location bed was hard and uncomfortable
Efficient service. Good. fairly priced, restaurant and bar.
Spacious room, clean smart furnishings, mountain views, helpful and friendly staff
Easy to find, good location Hotel is very simple, I'd rather say it is 2 stars than 3 - you have minimum what is needed and it's fine, but it is definetely not 3 stars hotel
The view from the hotel was excellent, the staff were very helpfull, room was extremely clean with a very comfortable bed & the breakfast was very relaxed with a good selection of breakfast dishes. No, everything was more than satisfactory.
Friendly staff, quiet and clean rooms. Not luxury but good value for money. Breakfast was ok
Very friendly stuff. Comfortable beds.
very good location near St. Gottardo Tunnel. Warm room with excellent shower. Ok breakfast with fresh bread (sunday morning) and possible to have breakfast from 7.30pm Had to pay with cash. Credit card not excepted. Fortunately we had the euros. also did not like that Hotel waas removed from bookings.com website which neccesitated a telephone call to ensure booking was secure.
Caring and nice staff to ensure I get the best out of my stay. Very good food at the restaurant and breakfast with fresh bred. Fantastic view on the lake from the rooms (with balcony) and the swimming pool. In the nice and typical village of Brione sopra Minusio. Quiet environment. Comfortable bed. Room furniture would need to be replaced for more style.
Excellent Panoramic View, Nice Balkony, friendly stuff, breakfast is also good. Very small Bathroom, very expensive Swisscom WLAN
Balcony, excellent view of lake. Courteous staff. Good breakfast and nice dinners.
Lake view, very clean, staff courtesy, swimming pool Small room
Day view, night view, nature, city and country in one place.
The attention to detail in the room- it was old but things like tissues, slippers, etc were good. The view was very good. The room was very small & I could hear other guests walking around in their rooms, and the hotel was difficult to find.
Fantastic view on the Lago Maggiore, free shuttle service to downtown, very friendly service
Excellent view, wonderful location. You should get this hotel if you like a family style with rustic ambiance and like to eat what hunters bring back from expeditions. We were tired and wanted a light dinner. The food card was extremely expensive and when we inquired about a cheap, simple food that was not listed on the card you could see how the waiter was angry and getting pretty unfriendly. Personally I found the food card pretty uninteresting.
Lake view in the night It's good 2kms away from the city.
I especially liked the very friendly, personal, familiar and helpful way of the reception personnel. The view from the room and terrasse was gorgeous and the pool was nice. I didn't like the old furnishing (seventies style) in the room.
The Owners and operators were very friendly and helpful. Both the hotel and the restaurant were spotless. The restaurant food and service were great!
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. If you purchase the 5 franc breakfast, be aware that it is bread and coffee.
Very friendly family and the son spoke english so good. Delicious food also!! A little noisy, because the motorway and the railway are near.
It's a family hotel and the staff are friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Food was good and the house merlot was excellent. it's a simple hotel so don't expect anything particulalry snazzy. But as an overnight it's great.
Good for a short stay, easy to find and parking on site. Basic, slightly dated but clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Food is locally sourced and very fresh - would definately recommend the hand-made pasta!
Very friendly people and a very clean room! Only 7 km after the Gotthard tunnel. Good stay during the trip to Italy.
Kindness of staff. They don't want to sell, but to give you a pleasant stay (and dinner). No.
cheap and basic but very clean. welcoming family staff and excellent food close to small train line
Location, excellent food, frienbliness of the owners. None
