10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful château. Our family had four rooms, all of which were large, very clean and comfortable. The lovely pool area was very much appreciated by our grandchildren. We also took the tour of the wine caves, which was interesting for all. A special mention to Natalie who was very attentive and kind throughout our stay.
Cons: Nothing. We had a great stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was superb and the drive up to the Chateau through the vineyards was awesome, arriving early evening. After a hot day, the pool was divine. It was my wife's birthday and the hotel arranged a nice restaurant in La Riviére for us to celebrate. The fact that there are only a few rooms makes this affordable but exclusive, with great service. Breakfast was really good also. Had a great time and look forward to returning some time.
Cons: Only stayed a Saturday night and the cellars were not open on a Sunday. But, at least they opened the shop just for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning, tranquil location. Amazing breakfast with attentive staff.
Cons: Dinner at the chateau would have been excellent but the recommendation 5 min drive away was superb
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome and personal attention by the host of the Chateau. We had a real historic experience with heavy rain and thunder during the night with fall out of electricity which gave a surprising but very appropriate charm to our stay as if we were re-living the old days. The power shortage was rectified within a few hours but it gave a nice twist to our stay and freshly brewed coffee followed soon thereafter...will return for sure! Beautiful spot and unforgettable "royal experience"~!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pefect place to relax. Luxary place. High level service oroentation
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We’ve just returned from a lovely five night stay at Chateau Prieure Marquet. The chateau itself is stunning; it has been beautifully renovated inside and the grounds are also gorgeous, very peaceful and spacious with deer and other wildlife throughout. We hired a car and found the chateau well situated to visit St Emilion and the right bank wineries but not too far from Bordeaux and Medoc either. We were fortunate to be the only guests for one day of our stay and then there were only a couple of other people staying - it was great to feel like we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Big thanks have to go to Jovan and Melanie, who were perfect hosts and really made our stay special. They managed to get the balance perfect - never being intrusive and allowing us space to enjoy the chateau but also going above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We particularly enjoyed the day we spent relaxing at the chateau followed by a lovely supper cooked by Melanie on the terrace. We really liked the chateau’s own wine too, which was a nice perk!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed a lovely weekend getaway...the hosts spoiled us in every way imaginable....Jovan and Melanie are excellent and professional hosts! Enjoyable dinner and the Chateau's wine is quite remarkable and great value. Would definitely return!
Cons: Room was on the small side, but very cosy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed here for two nights in July 2019, I am not often speechless, however, this place had me. I have traveled to many places in the world and stayed in many luxury rooms, this placed ticked all the boxes. In terms of the bedroom, it was everything that you would expect with lots more, the architectural design mixed both old with new very seamlessly. It's the first time in my life I have never even bothered locking my bedroom door at night or even during the day. This hotel does not feel like an hotel it feels like your home, you have the sense of security and the communal areas truly feels like there your own. This feeling had been brought about by the custodian Julian appointed by the owner, this man is a true gentleman in the true sense of the word. My wife and I arrived at the gate of this Chateaux and upon the gates opening and as we drove the long driveway we instantly knew we had arrived somewhere special. We were met by Julian at the entrance of a truly stunning courtyard and just then we had arguably the best 48 hours stay anywhere in the world. It reminded me of of visiting friends for a weekend, we felt so welcomed and we were lucky to have met a lovely couple that had just flown it from the USA. We all sat down to dinner that evening at one large table on the terrace and knew this would be the start of a friendship that we hopefully last for ever. Julian had prepared a fabulous dinner and a full selection of wines to taste, he has a wealth of knowledge in this field, it was very apparent. After dinner he was kind enough to offer both couples a tour of the Chateaux and it's grounds. We proceeded to board a 1943 Willy's Jeep and drive around the grounds, we seen not only the Chateaux lighten up as the sun come down but the grape vines and wild life also, it was an amazing feeling, one I won't forget in a hurry. See next section in 'What didn't you like' section as booking.
Cons: Continued from the last section:- We also had a tour of the winery, it was most interesting hearing about the processes of the wine and how the aging process and flavors come about. The following day the breakfast was fabulous, they were no sense of you need to be in a dinning room before a particular time or you've missed it, Julian made sure that it would be ready when you got up, it would be ready when you wanted it, they were no rules. That evening we sat down to a bbq, I had had mentioned to Julian the previous night that I loved bbq's, so low and behold we had a bbq, now that's going above and beyond to make sure your stay met all and more of your expectations. What a fabulous night we had. The day we left they were no sense of a particular time you had to vacate the room, we left at approximately 1pm. If you wish to experience a stay in a luxury environment where by time stands still and there is no sense of rules as to what conventionally would happen in a stay in a hotel, this is the place for you. They were no one running around with a bill having you sign it every time you wished a drink, they were no limits to where you could wander within the Chateaux, they were a real sense of trust. A note to the owner of this location. We have an old saying in Scotland, people buy from people and Julian would make me want to return time and time again, he makes this Chateaux, without Julian offering his hospitality it could have easily been just another fabulous Chateaux. He also spoke extremely highly of you which made me feel even better about the stay as he dedicated a huge amount of his time to my wife and I and to know that you look after his well being sits well with me. A note to anyone thinking of booking this location, stop thinking and just do it, it will truly make your vacation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing renovation of an old Château. The wines were top notch. The service was impeccable. One of best hotels we’ve stayed in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything! Lucien and Elise are super nice!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Château Prieuré Marquet is a magical place that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a memorable and truly special experience. The chateau is nestled away in the most beautiful location — between Saint-Émilion and Bordeaux. The property is a restored castle and vineyard with so much attention to detail, we found ourselves wondering around and observing the beautiful artwork, architecture and history for hours on end. There are only 11 rooms on the property so you truly receive high end/one on one service. Julian and Maria are outstanding hosts — every need was tended to and they were always there with a bottle of wine in hand :) At the end of our stay we were so sad to leave (there may have been tears). The view is out of this world. My husband and I had plans to visit neighboring vineyards but found ourselves never wanting to leave the property. While they don’t have a restaurant on site, you can reserve breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is a home cooked meal prepared by Maria. I would highly recommend. 10 stars!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from our very first steps on the property was absolute perfection. Not only is the Château expertly renovated and designed, but it is also inviting and cozy, as no stone was left unturned, and seemingly no expense spared, in ensuring the utmost in beauty and comfort. It is situated in a tranquil, picturesque location, close to many activities. There are the typical activities one would normally associate with a stay in the Bordeaux region, like visits to vineyards and exquisite restaurants, but Julien, the caretaker, will not hesitate to ensure that any whim is catered to—I, for instance, wanted to go horseback riding, so he arranged for a magnificent ride with an excellent teacher. He can also arrange for massages, yoga, really anything your heart desires, Julien will try his hardest to accommodate. He is a true gem and his warmth and genuine attention are part and parcel of the experience at the Château. I truly cannot boast enough to adequately portray how stellar the experience was
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing, beautiful and luxury place
7.5 Good
Pros: The property is brand new and phenomenally maintained. Julien and his wife are the perfect hosts they took care of our needs even before we arrived. They reached out asking about food preferences, occasions and any transportation needs. While at the Chateau they doted over us.
Cons: Nothing at all

Pros: Amazing accommodation at the beautiful location with lovely owners!!! Thank you ;)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and clean and fairly large. I also liked the shower.
Cons: We pulled up to a house and rang the bell at the gate. The proprietor met us at the gate and walked us through the back yard to the other side of the property. Which was awkward. Then in the morning our breakfast was waiting for us in the breakfast room and we did not see the proprietor again. I was a little concerned because there was no way to "check out."

Pros: Great French breakfast. Wonderful hosts in the county side of Bordeaux.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owners, spotless room, and one of the best breakfasts ever eaten in France. Hidden gem!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect country haven for a vacation in the Bordeaux region. Yves and Brigitte are superior hosts, and we felt like family members for our entire stay. The house is a beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean farmhouse, surrounded by gorgeous gardens, in a quiet country setting with a gated entry. Once inside, you are in a private oasis, but still close to Bordeaux or St.Emilion for busy day trips. The furnishings are elegant, with fluffy towels and robes, and view to the gardens from every window. There is a huge living room, dining area, and kitchen, and we were allowed to use these spaces to relax. Outdoor patios and tables invite you to the garden. And, do not miss Brigitte’s amazing breakfast! She prepares home made jams, omelette, fruit, yogurt, pastries, cheese, etc., all served on her gorgeous collection of China....it is truly a delicious experience to enjoy. We plan to return again in the future, as staying at La Chenaie was our favorite place during our entire French holiday. Brigitte and Yves have given us joyful memories of the grace and friendliness of the French people. We can recommend a stay here with our highest reviews.
Cons: Everything was absolutely perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome from Yves, the superb breakfast and tourist information and assistance from Brigitte. It was very quiet and comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Great location to explore St Emilion.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Brigitte and Yves are amazingly warm hosts, and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was fantastic, with homemade flan and jam, fresh fruit salad and good coffee. The common area was lovely - beautiful carpets, a huge fireplace, and a handy kitchen. Our room was large and nicely decorated, and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was standard and well equipped. We particularly appreciated their advice on restaurants and sightseeing.
Cons: The Wi-Fi didn't work very well, most probably due to the thick walls of this traditional building. Our room was also quite humid, so perhaps the addition of a dehumidifier would be a good idea (that said, this region is rather humid, so it's to be expected).

Pros: Quiet location and OK for a stopover on our way North. Welcome was friendly and informative. I do not drink wine, but chateau staff advised of a local mini brewery within walking distance. I purchased and drank a very nice beer with the evening meal provided at the chateau by an outside caterer. Facilities, including wifi, were adequate, given the style of property. Photographs of rooms on the web site were very accurate.
Cons: Check in time stated is somewhat limiting and could be difficult under adverse traffic conditions. We only just made it. Shortly after our arrival the office was closed.
7.5 Good
Pros: The Château was lovely. The breakfast was lovely and the staff all very pleasant.
Cons: The showers are difficult inside a high bath. There is no long mirror in the rooms. We were not offered a dinner (which my elderly parents would have enjoyed)

Pros: A saty in Chateau mileu, rooms nicely decorated in old style. We were on ground floor and just three steps from the pool and garden. Very nice to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Nicely served breakfast.
Cons: Check in was a bit confusing when we did not arrive between 16-17. Fortunately we found a guy who helped us. Heard from other guest that they had had same problem. Better information would help! Wi-Fi worked only in the shared spaces.

Pros: Great stay in a beautiful guesthouse. We spent there three peaceful days. Very good breakfast. The hosts are great - you really need to have dinner at their place.

Pros: Delicious breakfast pancakes
Cons: I'm afraid our car was a bit big for the car-park. Tricky entry but we parked outside which was fine.

Pros: Great place to stay for a few days. A very authentic chambre d'haute, tastfully decorated. Marie is very service minded and her typical french breakfast with home made product(creps, marmelades, yoghurt) beats everything. If you like standard furniture, go to a standard hotel. If you appreciate and value place someting different, then this will defintely meet your expectations.

Cons: Shared guests rooms toilet/ bathroom. No reading lamp at the bed. Breakfast could have been included for that price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a biz trip to Libourne and chose this house because they are well located and the facilities were new and clean on the photos. The house was exactly the same as described and every thing was very clean, cozy and tidy. The bedings were beautifully decorated with wooden wine racks. The bed mattess was so comfortable and the bedrooms were kept in private with a seperate door from the common room area. The best thing of this house was the hosts. They were really welcoming and hospitable. They also work for a wine house located in Saint Emilion so they introduced some good wines for tasting made in the area with interesting professional explanations. I would definitely visit here again if I come back to the village.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: From the moment our hostess greeted us as we arrived, we knew this would be a special visit. She quickly showed us our very well-appointed, large bedroom and the beautiful, modern bath (which would be shared only if the other room across the hall were occupied). She showed us the great parking spot in their drive, gave us our keys, and left us to relax. We had our own entrance so we could come and go without disturbing the hosts. It also made handling our luggage easier. Everything is on one one flat level, so is appropriate for a person with mobility issues (although I don’t think the bath or doorways could accommodate a wheelchair). The WiFi was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. The included light breakfast was also very good and beautifully presented. We thank this family for the privilege of staying in their lovely home. The surrounding area seemed very safe, which the hostess verified for us. The town of Libourne seems like a very nice community, although being there in a Monday holiday meant little exploration as most places were closed.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and lovely hosts
Cons: Shared bathroom facilities
7.0 Good
Pros: Family were extremely nice, felt bit awkward using their fridge. Spotlessly clean.
Cons: Had to share bathroom, our food had to be kept in family fridge, no private space in garden outside room. Definitely needed own bathroom. Very awkward. Left our wash things in bathroom and other guests used them. Not impressed.

Pros: Quiet area, friendly owners , room is clean and comfortable, with private parking.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: From the listing, we didn't realize that we would be staying in the same house with the owner and family. They were very friendly and welcoming; but we still felt a bit awkward cooking in their kitchen etc. (just because we felt like we were intruding on their private space). Our room was beautiful and had a private entrance from the terrace. We enjoyed their company and the location was great for visiting St-Emilion and taking the train to Bordeaux.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The owner very friendly and makes us breakfast at the time we asked for it. It was a good breakfast.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good spot for visiting the Bordelais. Well equipped common room, where you can prepare a simple meal - very important for families with small kids.
Cons: I truly enjoyed my stay there, still found a three things that annoyed me a little: The pictures on booking.com of the outside of the property do not reflect properly what to expect. I was slightly disappointed. The bed matresses were not very comfortable- not good for people with back problems. We were travelling with 2 kids: toddler and a baby of 15months. The latter did not use any of the amenities: we had our own bed, towel, bedsheets etc. She dis not eat the breakfast either. Still we were charged for 4 people. In other chambres d'hotes we have been to, we would have been charged for 3 people only.

Pros: Nice place very cosy - completely renovated
6.8 Good
Pros: No problem parking car; convenient for Saint Emilion and wineries, and OK for overnight stay.
Cons: 'Breakfast' was misnomer; 'gent' who checked us in etc. asked whether we wanted tea or coffee. On being told coffee, we were presented with 2 cups of black coffee, and he disappeared! Looked for milk in the kitchen but couldn't find any, so made the best of a bad job, drunk the orange juice, ate the obligatory piece of baguette, and left. Should add that we only saw him for less than 10 minutes in total during our stay, and he would not come into the 5 star mine host category. Incidentally, the money had already been removed from my card well prior to arrival!
