This hotel was amazing! It met all expectations and then some. The room was updated, and well appointed. Views from the 15th floor were incredible and nearly 360 degrees. The lobby was equally amazing. The pool was our favorite part. It was well heated and comfortable. The air temp was in the high 50s, and we stayed nice and warm in the water. The staff was equally amazing. Angelique (pool staff) was equally charismatic and attentive! She paid special attention to my kids and made the trip even better for them. Overall, a great trip. No refrigerators in the room
The Bistro staff took care of my wife as she had to wait until 4 to check in. We have been to the resort in the past, and will return but ( and no offense to Kayak/Priceline) we'll have to book direct with the San Luis if we want the service to be "right" 1. Check in was unpleasant, I felt second rate since we didn't book thru the hotel. We were reminded of this several time.."if you would have booked thru us..." 2. We couldn't check in until 4 pm, even thought the place was very much unoccupied (you can tell, the parking lots were very free) 3. The Steakhouse was expensive, and the steak was the chewiest thing I've ever had. The service was REALLY slow.
Loved the pool area and food! Very concerned with the overall safety of the hotel. During our stay, someone was able to gain access to our hotel room at 5:30am in the morning. We caught the individual off guard by waking up, and immediately called the hotel staff. After calling twice, our call was finally answered and we received a vague response. We inquired around the issue upon check-out, but received no information. The hotel was lovely, but I do not know if I can recommend the San Luis after this disregard for client's safety.
leaving the terrible customer surface. the unsafe overly heated rooms for our children. the fact that I still have not received a call back from jake the manager since the night we arrived. we were verbally promised a comp but this has not occurred. our dozens of calls have not been returned
Extremely high end resort at a price the most people can afford.
The view, staff were very friendly No makeup mirror in bathroom, additional counter space in bathroom. Very nice but expensive.
Beautiful view and very comfortable room in general. We happened to get a room with no hair dryer, but I'm sure they will take care of that.
The pool He air condition was super loud and could not sleep. There were roaches in our room.
Overall this was a very nice hotel. We stayed on the 16th floor which is considered their VIP floor. It was nicer then the others. Party of the resort is made up of condos which makes the hotel appear bigger then it is. The food at the bistro was amazing. HUGE portions! The room service was ok. Not the most friendly staff. The pool was really nice, heated and lit. Great swim up bar. The staff at the front desk were not the friendliest. Very short and easily irritated. There is a resort tax/fee on almost every purchase. Also the snacks that they mention on the VIP levels are merely bottled water and candy. The breakfast is muffins and coffee. Not really a balance for the buck.
The resort was great , but I wished they had informed people on their website the pool was closed. That was the main reason we chose that hotel. The staff was great and we were shuttled to he Hilton next door to swim. Rooms comfortable as well.
I like how everything was close by and loved how they were able to quickly change my room The long wait to talk to someone at the front desk every time.
The pool is great . The Itialian restaurant was a huge hit with our son saiid the pizza was amazing.
Pool Mold mold mold. I was there for a relaxing weekend and the amount of black mold in the bathroom on the ceiling and above the door was shameful. That doesn't happen overnight and that was the excuse I was given and most definitely not work the $600 for two nights. Hilton wouldn't even help rebate and portion because I payed through kayak and not them.
Within walking distance of beaches, restaurants, and any type of eating establishment you would want. For the price of the room, I think breakfast included would have been a nice amenity instead of $16 a person. I went down the street and had a full breakfast for $7.
The service was great! Pool bar Lina Colodas by far the best on the island! Perfect location! Only thing we wished were better were the pool hours! After dinner on the island it would have been nice to come back to the hot tub for some drinks!
Worst bed I've ever slept in.
Easy check in! Right by the beach! Easy access to the beach! Room very comfortable and luxurious! Would stay again! While asleep rolled over in the bed and was stuck by pen of a name tag that happened to be in the bed of an employee that was open.
The staff is so friendly, I've never stayed at a more friendly hotel. Every single person working there greeted me with a big smile and " hello, how are you? Hope you have a wonderful day/ evening." Even the house keepers greeted me in the same way. Everyone seemed to love their jobs and are happy to serve. I will definately stay here again. Brenda
We have 2 young children and one of them is in a wheelchair so at the last minute we decided to go on a 3 day getaway . The staff was extremely helpful and the hotel layout made it very easy for us to maneuver around with a wheelchair and various bags for the pool or beach. The pool was had a lazy river and at night you can see the volcano from the Rainforest Cafe. We even took a bike ride to Pleasure Pier. Great getaway for the family but the wife and I can see how this could easily be an adult vacation for our likes. Thanks Hilton The balcony view was amazing with the beach and the working volcano. I never approached the staff about this but I was wondering if they could provide some sort of protection on the balconies. My 1 1/2 yr could almost fit through the balcony bars and I understand that this is the job of the parent but it would of been amazing if she cold watch through the bars with out me having a death grip on her lol. Like I said I never approached the staff so they may have a solution.
Love how all the hotel guests were happy and that restaurant was near Room was extremely too small. Room was too far in the back
Check in was a breeze thanks to the friendly front desk staff. We then went up to our room and I couldn't believe how spacious and clean the room was. Beds were comfortable and bath towels were nice and oversized! Mini fridge and coffee maker were a plus too. Headed down to check out the pool, which was beautiful! Plenty of lounge chairs and beach towels were provided. A swim up bar offered drinks and a good menu. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and more than accommodating. Our 5 year old son uses a wheelchair and everyone was so sweet to him. We were only there one night, but we will definitely be back! I've already told several friends and family about how great the Hilton was! Thanks for everything!

Clean, great staff, great location. Promised room on floors 4-6, but was assigned room on 1st floor. My wife and daughters traveling alone and did not feel safe on 1st floor right by back entrance near pool.
I booked one night before our cruise some six months ago. When we arrived at the hotel they told us they cancelled the room and gave it to someone else. When we booked it was under a credit card number that was later stolen and had $5000 worth of charges were made on it. We cancelled that number and received a new card. Little did we known they needed it before we arrived. They did call us on our home phone but we were not home. They did give us a room but it was not the room with a great view we originally had. I understand the problem and the actions they took my dissatisfaction is charging us the same price for a room with a great view of the gulf to a ground floor room with no view.
Double billing issue that I will now have to resolve will never use this website again .. Second time I've had an issue of this sort vCant believe you idiots can't figure a way ...he'll never mind y'all don't care
Great location, computers with printer available, nice pool, great club attached, friendly staff. The ice machine on our floor did not work. We had to take the elevator to another floor and trying to get an elevator took forever.
Waterfront rooms and pool. Plenty of activities for kids. No Continental breakfast

The internet problem was explained why it kept disconnecting Internet could only handle 2 devices at a time. Pool was cold. There was a cold front and they didn't turn on the heater.
The staff was friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We have stayed at this hotel before when we took a cruise this is why we booked again. The hotel was full so we booked through a third party. When we arrived we were told because we booked third party we could only have a room on the first or second floor. we were a little upset that we would not have a view of the ocean but all in all our stay was very nice.
Proximity to the beach and the view was excellent. Toilet needed repair. The water ran for a long time after each flush and usually required messing with the float and flapper valve to stop the water.
Staff was excellent. Location was excellent. Room was very nice and clean. Wind noise coming through window and door.
The AC was broken and the bathroom door wouldn't shut, as if the door was too big for the frame. Staff seemed drunk also was so loud. Not very clean, we ended up leaving and checking into another hotel at 11:00pm and my husband had a early surgery the next morning.
