The hotel had everything you need for a brief stopover. Bed comfortable, decent shower, TV with a couple of UK channels, quick self service continental breakfast. Parking easy, quiet location. Staff friendly and welcoming. Easy to find just off the A16. The rooms are pretty small, so it was ideal that my friend and I had booked two rooms, or we'd have been tripping over bags and each other! As the price very reasonable that was fine.
the bedroom was very comfortable and well-maintained and the reception staff were helpful and friendly I did not like the restaurant. The menu was far too limited for the price and the cooking was only just adequate
Location in a beautiful town, close to the sea-front. Nice garden. Very pleasant staff Difficult to see how the hotel justified a four star rating - very little provided in room, no mini-bar, no water, no tea/coffee facilities. No newspaper service offered. TV limited to a few French terrestrial channels - no international news access. Decoration in floor to ceiling white a little hard to take. Hotel is difficult to find - total lack of signage a real suurprise in France.
cleanliness and good sized room. Breakfast buffet poor especially when it costs 18 euros per person. Dinner menu at 39 euros for three courses very disappointing, only eat there if you have a poor appetite and lots of money!!
It was quiet, peaceful, with delightful staff and excellant standard of food. The hotel was built recently and furnished in a very unusual style, mainly white, grey with a splash of red. The whole ambiance was relaxing and away from the hub of the nearby fishing village, but near enough to walk to. We liked the whole atmosphere and good facilities. It has an indoor swimming pool and a hot tub outside, which cost extra. Maybe, the avalibility of the hot tub should be included in the price.
Very clean and good location. Lack of surfaces to place books etc and no coat hooks
Friendly staff - nothing too much trouble It is a bit pricey
Close to town, parking, friendly staff, large room Facilities not as expected for 4* - eg no tea/coffee/mini bar in room, TV channels limited.
Perfecte ontvangst, vriendelijk. Schitterend gelegen dichtbij lekkere visrestaurantjes. Propere en nette kamer. Toegang tot de parking een beetje smal.
Staff were both kind and efficient.
the view and the central location small bathroom
Great location looking out over harbour and sea. Brightly decorated room with good shower. As the room was one of the more expensive a bath would have been good. Limited but secure parking. Good buffet breakfast Reception not manned even in the morning when we came to pay
Very friendly, helpful staff. Great room, lovely and clean. Fantastic sea view. Superb location. Excellent wifi internet. Somewhere to park car. Good value for money. None
Service was prompt and attentive. None
Car Park very narrow entrance and a little small
Signs of gradual upgrading, there was a new lounge/pool room this year, usual great views. Towels were always clean but very brittle!
Good location overlooking the fishing harbour. nearby (fresh fish) restaurants good and competitively priced. Nothing at price.
the location is excellent. The breakfast too was very good with lots of choice and buffet so it was easy to help yourself. The room was warm but sparsely furnished. We stayed in the annexe across the courtyard which made me feel a bit like an outsider although there was another room there.
It is very comfortable, easily accessible and conveniently near a parking space. Everything is excellent but it will be preferable if at breakfaxt buffet, coffee and hot drinks are served by staff at the table. Clients normally likes their coffee hot; when serve at the buffet table, it does not render the same pleasure.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable clean and spacious room with a good view. Good car parking.A very easy drive (1 hour) from Calais. The Sunday morning market in St Valery sur Somme was a real bonus for our weekend visit. A selection of first class restaurants close by and lots of outdoor activities around St Valery means that we will return to the Hotel Picardia in the near future. Absolutely no complaints
The hotel is in a good position for sight seeing in the area. The hotel is very basic, no luxuries but clean and tidy.
The breakfast was very good.
location good for surrounding area & town room small
Good, clean hotel well situated in the centre of the town.
Friendly reception and ease of parking No all acceptable
soundproofing in bedroom could hear Everything next door Food evening menu very dull The next door tables prawns were under cooked
Large comfortable, clean room. Good bathroom and shower. Lovely varied breakfast.
Excellent staff, good food, clean rooms, comfortable beds
Great location. Very clean, excellent service.
Neat, easy to find, well lit, decorated in light colours, warm and very clean
Room very clean, comfortable. Service in the bar was unexceptional.
room and resteraunt The bar advertised that it closed at midnight on a Saturday night! On the saturday that we stayed, after returning from a walk at 11.10 the bar was closed. The excellent starter and main caurse was spoilt by the deserts being served fully frozen, one guest complained but got no respose what so ever!
A quiet, bright clean hotel . We were surprised that access to the town from the hotel was complicated by crossing a river/estuary but realise that this is why the hotel is so quiet.
Old fashioned decor, very basic, and in a poor area. In need of modernisation and new carpets / decoration.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. The buffet breakfast was good as well. We arraived at 16:45. There was no-one in reception until 17:40. so we had to wait before checking in.
Excellent position, great atmospher. Could do with decor updating
not being to check in when wanted to. no night porter. bar hours not as fexable as expected, but was very nice. more information needed on location of hotel.
Cleanliness, clean towels and sheets each day. Friendliness of staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Rooms a bit shabby though clean. View wasnt quite as pictured on the web, train station in front of us, although it was the last stop so noise from it wasn't a problem.
not very promising on the outside and even in reception but the rooms were a pleasent surprise.
We had a lovelym stay easy going and relaxing. No hassle Nothing we didnt like, in fact will be returning
Well situated, welcoming staff, comfortable and good food in its class.A fairly typical good value French hotel. The really big problem was the terrible intrusive noise form neighbouring room when toilet and washing facilities used. This meant we had a very disturbed night when someone got up very early
An easy to find hotel in a nice quiet location close to an attractive seaside town. Good sized room and a reasonable choice of breakfast available. If I was in the area again I would be happy to return.
Peaceful atmosphere No restaurant
We enjoyed the quiet and tranquility. The accomodations were simple but about what we expected. Front desk staff had very little to no English (which matched our French). Made some things a bit more difficult but not imposible.
staff were excellent. Food was very good * Bath plug too small, and water ran out as fast as it ran in.For the price I would have anticipated office to be open earlier in morning.
clean, comfortable, great food, good value for money
location Very difficult to find even with sat nav
Weird decor in room
Ease of access and general high standards Bar food and facilities (table height) could be better. An out of town hotel needs a restaurant
It's a very well presented hotel with nice grounds There was only one member of staff on duty during the evening, and she seemed to be doing everything from serving drinks to cooking and answering the reception phone
A unique, idiosyncratic place. Full of surprises and charm. A lovely old building which has been designed internally with great imagination using old wood and found ojects. A lovely breakfast in front of a huge roaring fire. Only drawback is toilets not part of the en suite arrangements...and a little far from evening meal opportunities.
The hotel is located on a very beautiful place - on the beach. We had to be there at 2000 which ruined a little bit our plans (after a call we could come a little later, but still we didnt get a feeling we have the room if we would go to do our things). The room was very small. Many practical things were absent (hooks, shelfs, soap place etc). For one night is okay.
Excellent restaurant. Very clean rooms, sea view. Friendly staff. Poor carpetting in reception and stairs. No lift. No shower in all rooms.
Location - right on the sea front - free parking where available We were a couple travelling with our dog (a golden rettreiver weighing 49kg). The room we got was barely bigger than a cuboard. Barly big enough for two adults let alone a dog as well. The room was on the third floor with no lift. The en-suite was a joke. Unless you were under four feet in height it was impossible to access the wash hand basin without decapitating yourself on the shelf above! The extract air vents were filty. The checkin staff were great and spoke some english - at a later time we were very rudely interogated regarding our prescence in the hotel and there was a complete lack of check out staff and could not raise any member of staff at 7.30 am when we had to keave to get our ferry
Location on seafront in the nicest little seaside town in Northern France. Big rooms, recently refurbished. Make sure you get a room with a sea view.
good position on sea front Car parking impossible. Expensive food/drink
We had a good view of the sea, a good sized room/bathroom and it was clean and comfortable. Very pretty sea front location, excellent promenade for nice after dinner walks - weather permitting. Le Treport is very close if you want a more lively atmosphere. Staff were all very pleasant but the service was a bit disjointed/inconsistent. First evening we had 3 different people serving us but not sure if they communicated properly. Realised too late that we had only had 3 of our 4 courses. Breakfast arrangement was not explained to us either on arrival or on first morning - suppose everyone thought someone else had already done so - we watched the other guests the first day to see where things were. Some mornings we were offered hot milk with our breakfast coffee others we weren't so used the cold from the buffet - depended who was on duty.
It was as expected just a basic hotel but probably a little expensive for what you get.
Very good bath and bathroom. great views from the window of the beach and town. Noise from other rooms, no lift in building making it difficult to carry heavy bags upstairs.
Nice Seaside Hotel with a very good restaurant.
Small typical French sea-side hotel. Seems to be family run. They don't speak much English but try to help. Room was large and clean and had an excellent bathroom. More or less what we expected for the place and price. Pity they donlt keep the room availability up to date! However, there was no problem with an alternative. The restaurant is quite expensive - almost as much as the room. Try alternatives! Also - as in so many places in France - if you are vegitarian (as my partner is) you'd better like omelettes!
