Historical experience and good service
The overall atmosphere of the place and kindness of the staff The bet was definitely too small and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok but would need more variety (fruit, croissants, etc.)
Warm hosts, beautiful rural setting outside small town, personal attention and opportunity to get to know hosts.
It was interesting and quite spectacular. It was packed with antiques which, although interesting, gave the house a damp and musty smell. It was also quite dark. They do not accept cards so we had to go to a cash dispenser.
A stunning place to stay for anyone wanting to avoid the archetypal European hotel offer. A great experience all round In truth Ponte de Barca has relatively little to commend it compared with Ponte de Lima but the Casa Nobre do Correio-Mor makes up for it
Quiet and relaxing atmosphere
Facilities are good The hotel is stark and lacks charactor.
Ease of access and open spaces of the golf course The 300 yard walk to the restaurant (golf club house) can get a bit cold and wet! The hotel must have the biggest rusty door in the world - maybe something went wrong with the stainless steel effect.
Good hotel for resting. Nothing relevant to point out. The only thing I believe that needs improving is the breakfast. It's not bad, but it could be better.
quite local just out of ponte lima excellent restaurant and service noisy of cars outside front of hotel on cobbled road if you have a front room
nice situation and surrounding, modern architecture air condition was not working at our arrival (27 °C in the room), fixed 36 hours later
The quiet, the amount of different things to do ( outside pool, inside pool, a lake with boats, tennis court, climbing, or just relax. The house as a little kitchen and the bathroom is very good, the beds also very nice. The parking space is outside the walls, but there is alot of space even a heliport if you need one :D.
Brand new hotel, really nice staff, excelent design and architecture, the best location in town right by the river and 2mn walk from the old centre...Excelent value for the money they charge. The acoustics of the room could be improved, some noise from the corridors and other rooms... could have a pool...but since you have the river just in front...take a dive!
A modern hotel only a short riverside walk from the town centre. While reasonably comfortable it is absolutely soulless. It's total lack of charm.
This was a lovely modern, designer hotel, situated a few minutes walk from the town centre. We were treated with great courtesy by the reception staff, who were very helpful. Beautiful rooms: very comfortable. The hotel had a rather subdued sign outside and we walked past a couple of times before realising it was our hotel.
Staff very good, rooms of very good standard, fabulous views and amazing scenery, breakfast good, swimming pool in garden, peaceful and quiet location. Would like to go again and also to have stayed longer. None
The rooms are great. There is plenty of space and the pool is good too. Although the manager is very friendly she only spoke Portugese. The accomodation can be a bit tough to find.
Amazing hotel! Everything was decorated to the smallest detail possible. This is an old farm house (luxrious one) renovated - so they have original items everywhere. Very romantic place. Make sure you get the downstairs appartment (next to the pool) - and especially the left appartment which have a double bed. The hotel is hard to find - even with gps. Take a map with you in advance with specific driving instructions. The staff do not speak english at all and you are required to check in before 10 in the night. Do not take the room with the attic (the 2 floor room). It has no proper ventilation and it is very small and has no air. Take only the two room appartment!
Beautiful old house and grounds, lovely pool. Very good breakfast served to us. Very hard to find the hotel, no obvious signage from main road. There did not seem to be anyone else around and we felt a little uneasy.
A classic Portuguese quinta (farmhouse) with a superb countryside location adjacent to a picturesque golfcourse.
Fantastic hotel, excellent for a calm and romantic weekend, the staff is very friendly, the surroundings and the building itself are just marvellous.
Really nice guesthouse with pool, sun terrace, bbq area and big garden in a nice neighbourhood but it's impossible to find the house by yourself. We had to ask some locals who knew the way. Owner doesn't speak any other language than Portuguese, also a bit tricky... But it all worked out in the end and we would definitely come back.
