10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything to like! We spent three days at Chez Casimir and enjoyed every minute and hope to return. Our hosts Philippe and Jessica could not have been more welcoming, kind and generous. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. The house and facilities are all tasteful and comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and the shower great. Breakfast featured excellent homemade jams. The village is also lovely and wonderfully peaceful. We are cyclists and enjoyed the many good scenic cycling options and Philippe was very helpful with advice. There was also a good and reasonably priced restaurant less than five minutes walk away. Chez Casimir has a very high score and this is more than justified. We also enjoyed one evening a table d'hote which was tasty and above all great fun.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! We booked this trip in order to relax and heal, and it was just perfect. Therese and Evert Jan is fantastic hosts and their château was beautiful decorated. Every morning we sat for an amazing breakfast, which typically include homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, some kind of egg, homemade jams and fresh bread and croissants from the local bakery. We ended up eating at Therese and Evert Jan 4 times out of 6 night, because the food and the company of our hosts was more than we could dream of. Each night was a three course meal, and it was fingerlicking good! We spend a few days by the wonderful pool and Therese and Evert Jan made us nice lunches. There is a fridge filled with sodas, beers, wines and water and each room has a little scorecard, were we could mark what we have taken. This was perfekt for us! Therese also makes some very nice cocktails - I recommend the Peach Gin!
Cons: I can't think of something negative - perhaps only that we had to leave at some point ;-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts could not have been more welcoming. The chateau is a perfect example of rural french culture. The bonus was the food, all home made produce including the wine.
Cons: There was nothing to spoil the stay
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, romantic old building and very nice breakfast. The room was spacious and double glazed windows blocked the road noise. Bathroom is modern and very clean. Breakfast at a large table took us a bit by a surprise but was a nice experience. Fresh croissants and home made jams were the highlight of the morning, shame no more apricot jam was available for sale.
Cons: It’s a trifle and isn’t really something to complain about as such. The room didn’t have a tv and the WiFi wasn’t reliable. It didn’t affect our stay in any way.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property, with lovely spacious family room. Swimming pool was really nice for the kids, a good size. Highlight was the wine tasting followed by cheese and dinner - I learned loads about the local wine, and how to do a wine tasting, it was really enjoyable - I just wished we'd done more of it during our stay instead of trying to explore local restaurants.
Cons: We didn't have much luck with restaurants - particularly as we arrived on a Sunday night, which is often tricky in France - I recommend booking dinner on the first night - it was lovely, and the wine tasting was fantastic. We tried a few places nearby, but they were closed, and we ended up making quite a long drive to Decize twice to eat out. Also you have to rent a towel for the pool
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners, quiet location surrounded by beautiful countryside, good home cooked food using their own produce when possible and great wine from the region.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing and the swimming pool was fantastic.

Pros: Cesar and his family were wonderful, kind hosts. After we arrived from a day’s warm bike ride, we found cold bottles of mineral water and Evian waiting for use in the room/apartment. Cesar cheerfully predicted and met our every need. Also, the room had air conditioning!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is very good and in a quiet area, just a very short walk to the lake, children's play area, the casino and a supermarked. The apartment is fairly well-equipped, very clean and functional. The bed is comfortable. The owners are friendly and very helpful,
Cons: There is no coffee machine, but a filter holder is provided. The decor leaves a lot to be desired - gaudy 3-d plastic pictures on the wall. The television is the size of a lap top screen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s cleanest and it’s new furniture and amenities, and the special service from Sezar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and very clean. There was a garage for our bicycles. The Owner was extra helpful, and tried very hard to ensure we enjoyed our stay. 7.0 Good
Cons: Room not very big and cramped bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, unusual building and courtyard.
Cons: Not many good places to eat. La Grignotte hugely overpriced wines and average limited food. Should have gone to Centre.
5.5 Okay
Cons: Specifically asked if somewhere to eat nearby on a Monday evening. The answer was a resounding YES from Madame Hotelier.Pizzeria, restaurants very close. After 7 hour drive, found NOWHERE open not even hot drink available in hotel. Walked the entire town, nowhere open. We sat in the room and ate a half tin of Pringles and a small can of cola left from journey. 10 Euro each breakfast consisted 1 croissant, coffees, bread, jam, 1 Baby Bel cheese... Hotelier said next day she knew their would be nowhere open. The commercial fact is we would have found some hotel elsewhere if she had given us correct fact, and she would have had 102 Euros less....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Owner. Local restaurant. Mints! Tea and coffee in room.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Cons: It was rising and we arrived at 12.30 and asked if we could leave our bicycle and baggage at the hotel but they were adamant we could not come until 4 pm so had to wait to be able to enter at 4pm had to sit in front of a locked up hotel for a long time

Cons: Rather dated decor
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Old fashioned (&mismatched) furniture abounds throughout the old building, but everything is in full working order and pristinely clean! Do not visit here for mod-cons. Do visit here for a warm, friendly, cosy, break in beautiful countryside where you will be looked after by a lovely couple running their family business
Cons: The room was very small and the bed very soft... but this is not a modern hotel chain, so perhaps to be expected. No hot drinks facility in bedroom.

Cons: Bed creaked a fair bit - though it didn't really matter for this single old biker! Not their fault, but the local shop was a bit lacking.

ibis Styles Bourbon-Lancy - Bourbon-Lancy - Building
8
8.8 Excellent (461 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Rejuvenate yourself at ibis Styles Bourbon Lancy in Bourgogne Franche-Comté. You can take advantage of your stay to discover the old town with its "Beurdin" as well as the thermal bath district just 10 minutes from the hotel. Escape with family or friends to Le Pal amusement park after a breakfast that is included in the room price.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and fairly big rooms. Perfectly working AC
Cons: Only for the first day a complimentary bottle of water. The practically empty one was left standing. I had expected a fresh one every day. Price per dog (8.-) is rel. high when travelling with more than one dog/room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Next to bike path. Walkable to town. Great facilities for cyclists. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: This would have been 5 stars all the way; but the morning we left the receptionist told us we couldn’t borrow the bike pump. Which was strange because the ladies on reception when we arrived were exceedingly helpful with us storing bikes and using laundry. We persisted and she did eventually give us use of it. No idea what the deal was. Otherwise it was a great place to stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: A very nice hotel, in my opinion one of the best IBIS. I especially liked the possibility to walk on the lakeside with the dogs. The bathroom is very comfortable and big.
Cons: However, there is no soap on the washbasin, To wash the hands one had to go into the shower where a showergel was hanging on the wall, very inconvenient with dirty shoes. Also the edges in the shower were not really clean.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean convenient
Cons: Breakfast choices not as good as last Ibis
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Secure indoor bike storage. Access to free tea and coffee making equipment in reception. Excellent helpful staff. Very nice breakfast. Lakeside park on doorstep great if you are travelling with pets or children.
Cons: No restaurant. We could have used the one next door in the Casino, but it didn't appeal and it is quite a walk into the old town when it is pouring with rain and you are on bikes.
7.0 Good
Pros: The simplicity of the hotel, you get what you pay for and the breakfast was ready at 6am (after a time change), and that worked for us as we left at 6.15am.
Cons: Our room was the furthest away from reception, and I think we were one of only a handful of people staying.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location suited our (4 x bikers) needs perfectly. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Can’t fault it.

Cons: Airco or fan would have been nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and hopitable hosts, wonderful food, rooms a bit dated but clean and correct. Extremely cyclist-friendly. Great stay, would visit again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A welcoming stay and cycle storage
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts who tried to ensure we had a great stay. It is very close to the EV6 cycle path. Breakfast good but home made cakes instead of croissants, all good. Safe place to store bikes.
Cons: From the reviews we read, the hotel had a restaurant. They did platters or omelette but it was not a proper restaurant. It’s actually almost 5 km out of Bourbon-Lancy so if you have cycled a long way, you will need to get back on your bikes and cycle into town. One review stated there were several restaurants within walking distance. If you consider 10km round trip OK then fine. The property is also on a very busy road and it does not have aircon, so if it’s hot then you will need to open windows.

7.0 Good
Pros: It’s a nice hotel.
Cons: IT was a party in the restaurant so we couldnt eat there. There is nothing in walking distance so had to use the car. They shouldn’t sell rooms in the winter without dinner when all the restaurants nearby is closed. Very disappointing. ( they should be able to serve the guests that have booked rooms. Couldn’t even get a cup of coffe).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in the heart of the thermal spa complex which still radiates some of its former glamour. The room rate includes a visit in the adjacent Celto spa & wellness. Furthermore, it is only a short walk up the hill into the old town. Delicious breakfast (costs extra).

Pros: The setting
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Large room, nice building and beautiful position in the thermal area of Bourbon-Lancy
Cons: The bathroom was a separate room, to get inside you first had to cross a walking-through room, and both were without heating, which led to non optimal comfort level; breakfast buffet could be improved, both from variety and quality point of view
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were large and well appointed
Cons: Claimed to be cycle friendly but nowhere secure to store our bikes

Pros: Location was excellent. Lady (manager?) was extremely helpful. View was nice, restaurant was good, facilities for cyclists were good.
Cons: Room was above the restaurant and the noise of conversation lasted well into the night. Also was noisy when staff were preparing breakfast settings.
9.3 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: View from room over marina
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness. Good restaurant attached.
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This small but modern hotel at a marina was ideal for us to start a cycle journey from. We were able to park a car here for a week with no problem. The evening meal we had on a very busy Friday evening and the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere, the food was very well presented and of a very high quality at quite reasonable prices. A good wine list with quite a spread of prices and types was also available and used. Breakfast was good with a fair choice of food available.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a superb meal on the restaurant. The hotel had a good atmosphere next to the marina. Nice to watch folks arriving and departing by boat
Cons: We couldn't ask for better although the weather was exceptionally hot.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The price - it was cheap - we were motor racing at Magny-Cours and this was the only hotel in the area with a vacancy as we booked late! - the position right next to a marina … (we are boaters, albeit at sea!) … the food the 2 nights we ate in was excellent and I'd recommend it for that - pleasant enough room but the major problem was that we were there in the heatwave and …..
Cons: ..…. there is no air-conditioning. Obviously we didn't check before we booked assuming that any fairly recent hotel in this part of France would have it … even Campaniles have air-con! For breakfast they dished up the tiniest croissants we've ever seen so no marks for those! We would recommend this hotel though especially if you're walker or cyclist.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly, room clean and nice breakfast.
Cons: Rooms small and stuffy - no aircon
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We ate dinner at the hotel which was very good as usual however we left before breakfast to avoid the extreme heat during our cycling tour. This hotel is on the cycling route of the Canal de Nivernais which is an extremely pleasant cycle tour from Decize to Auxerre .
Cons: Nothing comes to mind that I would have changed about this hotel.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location for the night previous to canal trip
Cons: Long walk from train station, few options for pickups

6.3 Good
Pros: Very little other than the decor of both restaurants was well done and breakfast waiter was efficient. Parking was across road in a private area.
Cons: The room was average size but furniture and decor tired. Looked out onto a very small yard filled with bed sheets being dried in the evening. Room was a little dark but could not open the curtains in the morning since with electric light on people were passing just outside and could look in. Bathroom was ok, faced the bed, but only two small bottles of shower gel and one was empty. Was told that vacant tables for two in the modern restaurant with large windows were all reserved despite booking a table one month earlier and in the second older but well set out and furnished restaurant eventually found an unreserved table. 21€ menu - starter was ok but main course of steak was awful - very difficult to cut, chewy and tasteless. Basic apricot tart with cold custard. A set Continental Breakfast was served to each guest and just about ok for the price - no buffet. Very disapointing overall and would not return.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Laminayr floors needed to be washed
