The hotel had everything you need for a brief stopover. Bed comfortable, decent shower, TV with a couple of UK channels, quick self service continental breakfast. Parking easy, quiet location. Staff friendly and welcoming. Easy to find just off the A16. The rooms are pretty small, so it was ideal that my friend and I had booked two rooms, or we'd have been tripping over bags and each other! As the price very reasonable that was fine.
Close to town, parking, friendly staff, large room Facilities not as expected for 4* - eg no tea/coffee/mini bar in room, TV channels limited.
the bedroom was very comfortable and well-maintained and the reception staff were helpful and friendly I did not like the restaurant. The menu was far too limited for the price and the cooking was only just adequate
Very clean and good location. Lack of surfaces to place books etc and no coat hooks
cleanliness and good sized room. Breakfast buffet poor especially when it costs 18 euros per person. Dinner menu at 39 euros for three courses very disappointing, only eat there if you have a poor appetite and lots of money!!
It was quiet, peaceful, with delightful staff and excellant standard of food. The hotel was built recently and furnished in a very unusual style, mainly white, grey with a splash of red. The whole ambiance was relaxing and away from the hub of the nearby fishing village, but near enough to walk to. We liked the whole atmosphere and good facilities. It has an indoor swimming pool and a hot tub outside, which cost extra. Maybe, the avalibility of the hot tub should be included in the price.
Location in a beautiful town, close to the sea-front. Nice garden. Very pleasant staff Difficult to see how the hotel justified a four star rating - very little provided in room, no mini-bar, no water, no tea/coffee facilities. No newspaper service offered. TV limited to a few French terrestrial channels - no international news access. Decoration in floor to ceiling white a little hard to take. Hotel is difficult to find - total lack of signage a real suurprise in France.
Friendly staff - nothing too much trouble It is a bit pricey
Good, clean hotel well situated in the centre of the town.
Room very clean, comfortable. Service in the bar was unexceptional.
Great location. Very clean, excellent service.
location good for surrounding area & town room small
Large comfortable, clean room. Good bathroom and shower. Lovely varied breakfast.
Excellent staff, good food, clean rooms, comfortable beds
Friendly reception and ease of parking No all acceptable
soundproofing in bedroom could hear Everything next door Food evening menu very dull The next door tables prawns were under cooked
Neat, easy to find, well lit, decorated in light colours, warm and very clean
The breakfast was very good.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable clean and spacious room with a good view. Good car parking.A very easy drive (1 hour) from Calais. The Sunday morning market in St Valery sur Somme was a real bonus for our weekend visit. A selection of first class restaurants close by and lots of outdoor activities around St Valery means that we will return to the Hotel Picardia in the near future. Absolutely no complaints
the location is excellent. The breakfast too was very good with lots of choice and buffet so it was easy to help yourself. The room was warm but sparsely furnished. We stayed in the annexe across the courtyard which made me feel a bit like an outsider although there was another room there.
The hotel is in a good position for sight seeing in the area. The hotel is very basic, no luxuries but clean and tidy.
It is very comfortable, easily accessible and conveniently near a parking space. Everything is excellent but it will be preferable if at breakfaxt buffet, coffee and hot drinks are served by staff at the table. Clients normally likes their coffee hot; when serve at the buffet table, it does not render the same pleasure.
Very pleased with this hotel. We stayed 1 night during a stop-over en route to le Mans. We missed our ferry and arrived very late (1am) and the hotelier was kind enough to make special provisions for us to check in. The room was clean, modern and well equiped. Excellent car parking right outside and easy to find. We'd stay again. Quite expensive for what it was, but in fairness it delivered everything it promised 100%.
The rooms were very clean and fresh in their design. Everything was perfect. We would have liked to have had a drink at the bar later in the evening but was closed when we got back.
Hotel was clean and well presented the staff were friedly and although we did not speak french and the staff no english we got by. very good for over night before catching ferry.
Clean spacious room, secure parking, The smell of cleaning agents in the room
Extremely friendly staff who provided a warm welcome. The continetal breakfast was of a very good quality.
Very clean, good welcome
Everything was quite good standard, well maintanced room, clean, and smelled nice. no english speaking person
Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Plenty of parking space plus a garden with loungers. Good access to holiday centres and countryside. Breakfast was exceptionally good. No...it was fine.
Like a motel, parking outside the room which was very clean. Owner & wife very helpful The matress on the bed needing replacing as it sagged to such an extent that I could not sleep. When it was new it would have been excellent. Would have liked tea making facilities
A great hotel with spacious rooms. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. We just stayed for one night on the way to south of France so cannot comment on the location.
The hotel has downgraded since we were last there but the situation is excellent and very convenient for golf at Belle Dune where they have organised concessionary rates Lights did not work in two of the rooms we were offered and the cleanliness and standard of decor had deteriorated; we also thought the standard of catering was not so good as previously. However the patron was helpful
The location is excellent for the Bays of Authie and Somme so if you like walking and wildlife it makes a good base. The owners and staff were friendly. We were surprised to find that the hotel had not been upgraded since the new owners took over some years ago, apart from the installation of a swimming pool. Our upstairs room seemed exactly the same as the last time we stayed several years ago, including the furniture and funrishings. We were particularly disappointed with the dinner.
We liked the room opening onto the garden, the rose garden and the food, in the restaurant. In our room, the toilet door needs improving, as it scrapes on the floor, making a noise.
The room was comfortable nd location rural and peaceful The price of wine was extremely high and this might discourage us from staying there again
excellent hotel helpful staff good facilities especially the pool. rooms open on to terrace so easy access change clothes etc did not like food. limited menu and very expensive. wine list good but too expensive luckily 2 miles up road various bars and restaurants high quality food and drink at reasonable price
The Hotel was very clean and well presented. The facilities to have a drink need to be reviewed, there was no proper bar, only an area in the middle of the restaurant that we could sit and have a drink, always overlooked by diners!! Also, the drinks are enormously expensive. 5 euros for a beer.
We liked the spaciousness of the rooms and the fact that each room had a 'back door' leading onto a lovely garden. We also enjoyed the food.
The setting and tranquility No tissues in the room!
