Pros: Everything! Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. The fact that beds (I was in a dormitory) have duvets is a bonus. Highly recommended.
Pros: Forget first impressions! This is rural Spain at its best. Facilities are a great mix between old and new. Best night's sleep ever. Where would you wake up with a pet sheep, a cock and friendly dog within 10 metres of your room? Very convenient to motorway nearby. We will definitely return whenever in this area again. Great value.
Cons: Nothing. Realise you're in rural Spain and everything will fit into place!
Pros: Room was a suite with bed upstairs and lounge kitchen downstairs
Cons: Cold coffee
Pros: A great place to stop while walking the Camino Via Plata. Highly recommend!
Pros: A very authentic place to stay. The spacious appartment is very beautifull and tastfully decorated. There is a garden with chicken and sheep. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Good beds!
Pros: Ideal Hostel location. Modern facilities, well managed.
Pros: How an ancient building has been modernised yet kept its character, the ability to get a late, great value meal and the town itself
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: Lovely staff. Comfortable, tastefully decorated room. Modern bathroom. Clean. Fast wifi. Friendly dog, sheep and chickens in the charming, backyard garden. Highly recommended!
Pros: Very well appointed room. A place to hang laundry. Plenty of soap and shampoo. Lovely plants and outdoor seating area with comfortable chairs.
Cons: The old building smell of sewer that is ever present in all the old towns of Europe.
This charming rural hotel is set in the countryside, 10 minutes´ drive from Cáceres. It offers a spa centre with a sauna, a hot tub and an outdoor swimming pool, open all year round. The individually decorated rooms have a TV, full air conditioning and heating. The bathroom includes amenities. La Encarnación also has a garden and a terrace. The local area is ideal for hiking. Free private parking is offered at La Encarnación. The centre of the UNESCO World Heritage City of Cáceres is a 10-minute drive away. The property is well connected with the A-66 motorway.
Pros: Finding the hotel was so easy, lots of signposts directing to this lovely well presented hotel. The owners are charming and very welcoming. Evening dinner in the patio was very good. Breakfast very filling. Bedroom extremely well presented. Dogs enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep.
Cons: I wasn’t give the WiFi code. No shampoo in the bathroom. Minor things only.
Pros: This property is fabulous. For us it was a one night stop-over on a long journey but it would be ideal for a longer stay, 2-3 nights to explore the area or longer for relaxing, in season to take advantage of the pool. The hosts are super friendly, very professional and efficient. The breakfast was carefully prepared by Victoria. Nothing to fault this accommodation. It is also perfectly located not too far from the motorway but beautifully rural just outside of town.
Cons: I cannot find anything to fault. Will definitely stay here again on my next drive down to Andalusia (to visit my parents).
Pros: Rural location but close to the A 66 making a journey stopover very easy. Very friendly couple run this hotel and they speak very good English. Honesty area to make coffee, buy a drink from the fridge or snacks. We also had a tasty salad made for us and a cheese platter. Breakfast nicely served with traditional foods and delicious fresh orange juice. Lovely unusual small hotel with secure gated courtyard parking.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Pros: The welcome provided by Arturo and Victoria the hotel owners was memorable. The room was very good and comfortable too. Dogs are welcome too. Good breakfast
Pros: Everything, but special mention of the ultra comfortable beds, the hosts and the local food. They were very welcoming of our 2 dogs. I am reluctant to say how wonderful it was in case it is full next time.
Cons: Getting out of bed and leaving.
Pros: Just the perfect stop off...beautiful 200 year old building, immaculate and very comfortable room (great Wi Fi as well) personal welcome by the hostess and a personal departure..wonderful doggy walk past the chapel on the hill and then Shetlands / horses /sheep etc...( no traffic) ...swimming pool , a lovely courtyard...( coffee in the morning) ....if you are passing this way....dont go anywhere else ....IF you can get a room, they only have 5....book early.
Cons: Cant think of anything bad...
Pros: Nice, clean room
Cons: Far from the town
Pros: We drive between Estapona and Uk frequently with the dog. This property is in a rural location about 10 minutes drive from the motorway and we stayed here overnight on our way back to Uk. The room was a good size and nicely furnished and we were greeted by a pleasant lady owner who is keen to please. However this is an expensive place to stay and the standard is not what you would expect for a 115 Euro stay for one night.
Cons: The property has no restaurant so they are only able to offer salad for dinner - so had to get back in the car to drive to local town where we could only find one restaurant serving food on Friday evening The shower had hairs in the plug hole and the tiles had mouldy grouting. Plus problem with smell of raw sewage coming from shower cubicle. No tea or coffee making facilities in room nor water which for a 4 star rated property is not acceptable. Would not stay again.
Pros: Personal touches
Pros: The location is beautifully rural but close enough to town to drive in within minutes. Very close to the motorway so good as a stop-off.
Pros: Everything was perfect. Would highly recommend
Cons: Nothing whatsoever

Cons: We loved everything.
Pros: Beautiful location, staff and service great, restaurant very good and reasonably priced. Bed very comfortable, although room very hot as no aircon.
Cons: Pool not open although full and was 26c. Also no aircon in room
Pros: This is a hotel that knows what hospitality means
Cons: Everything was just super
Pros: The pool
Cons: The birds
Pros: Obviously an old restored palace and done in a clever way with modern and old melded, however, the breakfast area is a fair way from the old part, there was a shortage of staff and it lacked ANY atmosphere.
Cons: It has nothing in the vicinity to make it worth the windy road, it is just an old restored palace in a nothing town. Stayed in the Parador in Plasencia and THAT was worth more in every way.
Pros: The two dogs got there own beds plus toys! The staff were lovely! This old place and surroundings are amazing!! it is well maintained and clean ! Well worth the money and a visit!!
Pros: Peaceful place. Nice food. Obliging staff. Good secure parking.
Cons: Bathroom could do with refurbing. Rooms in the old part of the hotel are a bit tired.
Pros: They provided a bed for the Dog and 2 food bowls. plus a new throwing toy. very thoughtful.
Pros: Nice well equiped hotel with pool and fitness. We appreciated the english speaking staff at reception. Good restaurant.
Cons: Non english speaker waitress made our breakfast quite complicated

Pros: Shower, beds and enviorment were way above than expected. My family and I had a great experience.
Pros: Simply great, nice and friendly staff. The breakfast was great. The room was well equipped and nicely decorated. It is a perfect stay for exploring the area (for example Alcantara), there is also a restaurant at the hotel so there is always possibility to have dinner there.
Pros: The premises were absolutely charming. The rustic decor was delightful.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was really nice.
Pros: Surprising. A very modern, clean facility. Staff was very accommodating in helping me secure a taxi to shorten the next day’s long stage on the VDLP.
Cons: Not really clean. No internet inside the room. Elevator not working.
Pros: Friendly, efficient service and a purpose built premises built in a modern, spanish style. Great value out of season.
Cons: I have no complaints at all.
Pros: The room was massive. Comfortable bed. Got up early to walk the camino and they left breakfast in reception for me. Would recommend.
Cons: It could do with a more prominent sign. I walked past at first as could only see the cafetería.
Pros: Nice staff, modern space, and cafe, bar, food on ground level. So nice of them to leave breakfast out as at 7 am Camino start no cafes were open in town.
Cons: Slightly poor WiFi in room
Pros: Very friendly staff. I left before breakfast began, but he set up the coffee machine at night so I could have a cup before my early departure.
Pros: Great value for money for one wishing to relax / recover from many days on the road (Camino de Santiago), extremely clean, good welcome, has everything you need for one night stay.
Cons: Albergue at the entrance of the town so a good 10min walk from the centre. Apart from that, all good.
Pros: Big rooms, easy access to bar and restaurant
Cons: Not the fault of the albergue but all rooms face the busy restaurant underneath the albergue. Very busy therefore very noisy.
Pros: The price and location.
Cons: Missing bathroom glasses and elevator didn't run till evening. Staff was a bit slow witted and the area has kids play areas adjacent which makes it very popular and noisy till late.
With a stay at Hotel Rural el Vaqueril in Brozas, you'll be 4.7 mi (7.5 km) from Church of Santa Maria and 17.1 mi (27.5 km) from Convento de San Benito. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: air conditioning.
Pros: The gardens were great for our dog and the staff were very accommodating. The rural views were lovely. The staff opened the restaurant just for us. All the pigs and donkeys in the gardens would have impressed our grandchildren.
Cons: The description and map are wrong, it is down a 5km dirt road. The old hunting lodge was in its day wonderful, but now it is run down and needs updating. The gardens are over grown and need cutting back and the pool needs re-lining. It could be wonderful again but needs some improvements.
Pros: Remote location. Very comfortable hotel
Pros: We loved our visit to El Vaqueril. We loved the isolation from civilization, the peacefulness, the cows, sheep, donkeys, and singing birds. However, it is a rather long drive from Cáseres and partly on unpaved roads so it would only appeal to people who really desire to escape civilization.
Pros: The place is in the middle of a beautiful setting , stunning scenery and tranquility.
Cons: We being Vegetarians found it quite tough. Going out to nearest town 30kms away was next best option to the restaurant. Dinner served was very basic, though the intention of the staff was positive & the owner was quite apologetic. We took it all in good spirit as it was just 1 night & was not the first time in Spain that we had this problem.
Pros: Relaxing, peaceful, lovely place, good food, pool, surrounded by countryside.
Pros: Arrived very late in pouring rain and were served a simple but nice supper in front of an open fire lit for us, lovely country estate, charming rooms, dogs welcome without charge, the lovely dining room was a nice experience at breakfast, we would certainly like to re- visit.
Cons: The mattress protectors gave us an uncomfortable night.
Cons: Only the fact that I had to telephone the hotel to get someone to come to reception, as I had been inside and out shouting for 2 or 3 minutes to no avail. Perhaps a bell or someting may help.
Pros: We loved the tranquility and the friendly staff also the wonderful menu of food that was produced on the farm. The rooms were nicely situated and cosy and the bathrooms were exceptional.
Cons: The 6 kilometre track was a worry for drivers of an ordinary car and really only suitable for 4 x 4 vehicles
Pros: Quite liked the rural quality of the place
Cons: Outside was very untidy. Swimming pool needed cleaning around the outside and never saw the 'skimmers' working. There wasn't a bar and so couldn't get a drink when wanted. Price of food 'menu of the day' was expensive compared to anywhere else I have stayed and the breakfast was a joke, only 1 little piece of toast and a poor cup of coffee.
Pros: Everything! The setting is unique, the staff very attentive and charming, the room was very comfortable and thoughtfully furnished and the food fresh, traditional and excellant value,we did not want to leave!
Cons: The drive up to the hotel is about 6 kilometers of unsurfaced road and you think you are never going to get there but have faith its worth the drive!
Pros: Very isolated and quiet rural hotel. It's inside of a farm, in a typical building that has been partly recovered for the hotel. The staff is very genuine and friendly.
Cons: We've been there in winter and the heating was ok, but I wonder how should it be during the summer without A/C.
