Cons: Extra pillows needed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alberta and Alta are supreme hosts with a beautiful breakfast of what has been our best food in Ireland - home made scones and preserves, and Alta does a great omelette. Local advise on where to go is excellent too. Easy, free parking outside was also a nice change. Our room was very pleasantly decorated, not huge, but definitely very comfortable and more than adequate. There is a lovely sitting room to use as well. Really enjoyed our stay. Great to be near Cork and able to easily access what the area has to offer.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very frindly and attentive. Great breakfast.
Cons: Room was a little dusty.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room. Beautifully decorated.
Cons: Parking . Traffic and vocal noises from street late at night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a two night stay at Wisteria House, located right on the main road in Cloyne. Our room was the delightful Fireplace Room, with its charming decor and separate dressing area and bathroom. And, while our room faced the road, we had no problems with traffic noise. Breakfast included omelets made by our very competent host. But, the best part of our stay was meeting Albert and Arta, our hosts. Such a lovely couple who shared such wonderful conversation with us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place. Amenities lovely excellent host went out of his way to give us early breakfast because we had an early flight. Very helpful with local tips. Thoroughly recommend

Pros: Excellent breakfast - fruit salad, fresh juice, scones, and then a hot meal. They even had few vegetarian options which was an absolute delight. Excellent host - The hosts were very friendly, and responded to queries at the earliest. They took utmost importance to ensure we felt at home ! The room was also very nice with all amenities needed.
Cons: We were visting Cobh and found the home slightly away from there. It took us 30 mins drive one way to reach Cobh - so if Cobh is your destination, look out for some place closer to it.

Pros: Bathroom and bar were nice
Cons: Didn’t get a 5 star feel from the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds extra comfy
Cons: Loved everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was lovely, bathroom was very nice, Spa and swimming pool
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Well decorated, well appointed. Nice spa, livelygroubds.
Cons: That we received the breakfast my hubby and I prepaid for!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, very clean and comfortable. Dinner was fantastic.
Cons: Had an issue with the public bathrooms - someone was locked inside for nearly an hour! Finally sorted but not exactly what you would expect for such an expensive, well rated hotel. However finally dealt with well. Wedding taking place with reception drinks outside which meant you couldn’t sit outside at the same time (unless you wanted to feel part of the wedding party!) - unfortunate as the weather was lovely that day. Breakfast was average.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great 5 star hotel in Cork! Stayed for 2 nights and loved every moment I was there. Very quiet hotel which was nice as we went away to unwind and relax for the weekend, we are a young couple and were properly the youngest couple in the hotel but it didn't bother us. We dined both nights in the hotel, first night in the Bell Tower restaurant which severed the highest of quality of food and an experience you could not fault and the second night in Franchini's. Staff on both evenings were very attentive throughout our dining experience. Breakfast was in the bell tower and we were the only people in the place both mornings (7.30am) which was lovely. You ordered your breakfast which is perfect as you only wait a short while and there is also a buffet continental breakfast available while you wait. We also eat lunch in the Golf Clubhouse on a first day and out on the terrace as part of the Garden rooms on the second day, there were just so many options while staying in the hotel. The overall weekend was fantastic and I would return again soon.
Cons: The only thing I could fault is that some of the staff didn't present themselves well and for a 5 star hotel you expect all to be well turned out and have knowledge of what is going on in the hotel and where to go. The second thing which the hotel could consider is the fact that the Wedding party take over the Knight's Bar on arrival forcing guest staying in the hotel to leave which is unfair as we are guest also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property in the country. Warm friendly staff. Nice restaurants on premises. A walk back in time. We felt like landed gentry...
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel itself and the gardens and common areas are all beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable and extremely clean. There was no noise at night. We were disappointing by the pool area and the dinner. And when we brought up these issues on checkout , the relationship manager was very apologetic and did agree that the issues we had at dinner were not acceptable. He took the price of the meal off and said we just got the hotel on a bad weekend.
Cons: We found the hotel very busy and noisy, not a place for a relaxing or romantic get away. There was a wedding on when we arrived and it pretty much took over the common areas of the hotel instead of being isolated to one area. The whole seating area outside the hotel, the bar inside and the reception area itself were full of wedding guests , there was nowhere to sit and have a relaxing drink. We went down to the pool and Spa area then and this was perhaps the most disappointing part of the entire experience. The pool is open to the public and the pool was full of children. The were pools of water in the changing rooms and Steam room and sauna areas. There were adults in the pool area sitting along the side of the pool watching, fully clothed and in outdoor shoes. Not really what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. It was more like a public swimming pool than a 5 star experience. We decided to having dinner in the fine dining restaurant that evening as it was a special occasion. We were seating at a lovely quiet table with other couples looking out at the gardens. But then half way through our dinner a large party arrived and they started re-arranging tables and dragging chairs around to make a large table next to us to sit the large party even though the restaurant was empty. The dinner itself was very average for fine dining. Starters and mains came so quickly one after another. We barely had time to have a conversation between each course. When the starters were taken away we were not asked if we enjoyed them. Drinks were served in the wrong glasses and our espresso was served in a large coffee cup! We both asked for medium rare for our steaks, and both were medium to well done. The whole thing was just the opposite to fine dining. I think they need to make big changes in the restaurant area to keep the word fine in the fine dining experience.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Castle on property and grounds pretty. Bathroom nice and bed comfy.
Cons: Inconvenient way to get to and from your room from car and hard to load in and out in rain. This hotel needs a door closer to rooms to enter. Also asked for extra towel never got one. Lights strange in room all electronic from pad off and on. Also room was really hot when we entered.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The main restaurants were booked out so we eat in the club house the food and service was extremely disappointing for a 5 star .

Pros: The location was central, but a problem with parking, we parked up a hill , 3 minute walk but it was raining, , the staff were really friendly, the breakfast was brilliant, properly cooked , big variety , very tasty

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The sea views from the room were lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed the Lively Lighthouse bar atmosphere, food and drink. The staff were lovely. It was also nice to relax in the large lounge bar later in the evening.
Cons: One minor negative was the microwaved scrambled egg at breakfast. Although that would not prevent me from booking again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. We eat in the Bar/Bistro and the restaurant and had breakfast each morning and we were both very happy with everything that we ordered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I found the beds very uncomfortable and creaky. It was two beds pushed together. Prefer double bed or twin beds.
Cons: Just the beds and a little biscuit with cuppa in the room would be amazing.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location, leisure centre and decor
Cons: Room was small. One restaurant and bar closed, so residents were pushed towards one eating area and clearly the staff couldn’t cope. Utter chaos. Second night was slightly better because all eating and bar areas were opened for a tour group, otherwise a large section of the hotel would have been closed again.

Cons: IT'S EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH EVERY DIME!!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding courtesy of staff Warm and familiar atmosphere Only few and well behaved children
Cons: While quality of dinner ingredients was superb throughout, preparation and presentation was perhaps a little too simplistic (but I guess this is the style of cooking this place is known for)

Cons: Nothing!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room excellent. Reception staff great, Dining room staff better than excellent.
Cons: Breakfast price might be a little high for the offering and the point in the season. Buffet might work. It's not a complaint - just an observation.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room lovely and quiet with a beautiful view .we slept like babies
Cons: Lunch menu .I thought it was a bit basic
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was fabulous - beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. Fabulous comfy room looking out over the bay. Food in restaurant was fab and there's a lovely cosy bar. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit!
Cons: Everything was perfect except the weather!
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good. I loved the room and the magnificent views.
Cons: Bathroom was clean, however I found the position of the toilet ie. directly in front of the mirror and beside the only shelf for washing with hand basin a little awkward. A shelf or a stool to place clothes when taking shower would be good. As the room was so lovely I was disappointed that there was not a walk in shower and found the bath/shower a bit dated.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Rooms were comfortable and spacious,
Cons: Food is over priced for what you get.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed is huge and extra comfortable. The room had a view on the ocean and this was amazing!
Cons: During the week the restaurant is not open and we discovered that just when arrived at the hotel. It would be cool if this was written explicitly. But we found an amazing restaurant nearby!
6.3 Good
Pros: Bed and linen were superb the welcome the view and the location were outstanding We really liked the staff and their attitude
Cons: We really didn’t appreciate the restaurant being closed and not being warned we didn’t feel breakfast was good value If we wanted dinner it was in the bar in totally inappropriate furnishing and ambiance The bathroom was antiquated lacking modern amenities the Shower and other facilities ,with a lack of instant hot water . Furnishing generally was dated and a bit worn.
6.7 Good
Pros: The major bonus of the Bayview Hotel is the breathtaking location - we were visiting for my cousin's wedding @Ballymaloe House so this location was superb not only for the weekend but also for the post-wedding 'session' at the Blackbird in Ballycotton. We were blessed with stunning weather and woke every morning to a breathtaking sunrise overlooking Waterford and the 'bay'. I am a keen runner and took the opportunity to go an awesome run around the surrounding area - I strongly recommend it if you too are a runner. There are loads of great bars in Ballycotton, I recommend The Blackbird on Sunday and I also recommend eating at Pier 26 - a bit pricey but delicious. The Schooner is also worth a visit. The food is great and very tasty, the staff are very helpful and housekeeping is great - very attentive and patient (the lady waited while I was getting ready to meet the family on Sunday afternoon) and the BED IS AMAZING!!! I would go as far to say that it is the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept and there's a choice of pillows - fab! It really is a great hotel that with some TLC will be awesome.
Cons: The Bayview, however, is dated and really needs a refresh. Breakfast is super expensive €20 for a cooked breakfast is way too expensive. We also had to leave super early on Monday morning in order to catch the 10:10 flight back from Cork Gatwick. I was disappointed that we could not have a cooked breakfast before leaving (the kitchen opens at 8:00 am - we had to leave at 7:40 am). We were told we could have a continental breakfast but at €13 per person - I was not willing to pay €26 in total for what is basically a bit of cereal and coffee. PLEASE change the awful music that is on loop in the bar, it is the worst piano 'elevator' music - the type you hear when you are on hold to a call centre. Some ambient chillout music would be much better and I think it would help attract a more diverse clientele - this hotel caters mainly for the 'older' generation which is absolutely fine but worth bearing in mind if you are a little younger (we are in our early 40s). Also soundproofing, I woke quite early one morning and I could hear my neighbour snoring - a hotel needs to provide privacy and soundproofing is crucial so residents can enjoy the facilities without fear of disturbing anyone! Finally - and this is a little moan - no crisps at the Bar?! Sounds silly I know but one thing I love with my pint of Guinness is a packet of Tayto crisps! For the money I spent, I did expect the standard to be a wee bit higher but it was super clean, the staff were so friendly and housekeeping was top-notch - I can't really complain. Sort the awful piano/elevator music out, make early cooked breakfasts an option, lower the cost of breakfast and give the Bayview a facelift so it doesn't look so dated and it will certainly be worth the price tag.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All fantastic from start to finish. All the staff were superbe. Not a speck of dust anywhere!!! Total relaxation, ambieance just fab, totally chilled. Food the best we have eaten for a long time. The steak was to die for, the flavour I can still taste!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location right at the water's edge. Very welcoming staff. Lovely accommodation. Top notch food.
