Very welcoming. Professionally run. Tasteful decor. Excellent food.
I arrived very tied after a long journey, but was immediately made to feel at home by the very friendly staff
The hospitality of mine hosts Richard & Kelly We hope they make the business a thriving success. They deserve this
Charming, professional ambience. Exquisite cuisine. Friendly knowledgeable management and staff. Will certain recommend and return.
Good location, good value, attentive staff and service Hotel is slightly dilapidated. Fabric and condition of the building is 2 * as oddicial rating but service and friendliness of new owners is 4 or 5*
It was under new management, just one month, and they provided an excellent service. The hotel has got run down and needs refurbishing. The new management are keen to do this and have already started with the visitors lounge. If this is anything to go from the refukrbishment will go well.
Excellent staff, food, luxury rooms and quiet location made for a very relaxing break without children!
PLeasant room , helpful staff , pity about the location so close to a busy road but efforts obviously made to keep bedroom as quiet as possible limited range of blended whiskies
New owners. Arrived that day. Presented as very pleasant and ensured that our stay was satisfactory. We have no complaints and only wish them well.
New owners were very welcoming and helpful. Hotel was conveniently located and easy to find.
Excellent food, very easy going and welcoming staff. Very relaxed atmosphere all round. No wine menu available to accompany meal except by the glass. Walls must be thin - low television volume still caused neighbours to ask for it to be tuurned down - maybe tv could be re-sited on an outside rather than adjoining wall ? Website information implies it is closer to Ross than it turned out to be.
We were impressed with the size of the room and the cleanliness. The breakfast the next morning was delicious. The TV in the room had a sky remote but did not have a Sky card - which didnt really matter to us. I would definitely like to visit again and try some of the delicious meals we saw on the menu!
The Staff and location are ideal and I would stay there again. I marked down value for money as I stayed for access to attend the Ryder Cup, when prices were obviously higher. For the usual price this would be value for Money.
Excellent food Poor television reception
Very friendly staff, food excellent
Very friendly hotel. Great food & good rooms. Staff very helpful. None
Location and history of hotel Little noisy as people still coming and going wel after midnight.
very good food - both dinner and breakfast. plumbing rather noisy in the morning
Staff were very helpful and welcoming Bathroom door did not shut properly.
Very friendly and welcoming. Good food. Comfortable room. Wonderful shower. Tv was rather poor.
Good food, and very friendly co-operative staff. Location was well placed for the town centre. Modern furniture/decor in olde worlde building fitted together very well. Lack of curtains in the bathroom/toilet adjopining the bedroom. One of the other guests thought it good fun to keep poking his head through the skylight in the room opposite where he could see into our bathroom.
Good location, recently refurbished, Modern fittings in a quaint 16c low ceilinged building. To be picky, the telly didnt work very well but didn't come away to watch telly so wasn't that concerned. Also only one bedside lamp
The hotel is comfortable, very clean and is very well located in the centre of the town. There is a big car park nearby. The staff were friendly and efficient and the service and food in the restaurant were very good. The bar was ok and the beer was good. The tv in the bar. mtv at 6pm doesn't help conversation.
Rooms were very clean and very well kept with lots of character. The staff were very friendly and the hotel food was great! Live bands on in the bar , very nice!
Very quaint building. Clean and tidy with excellent meals and atmosphere. All good.
Quaint building, friendly staff and locals, good service! The restoration and rehab are well done. Nice location in a lovely town! Breakfast was great. The 'a la carte' menu was a bit odd in choices, but then I noticed the Specials board and we had the ribs which were absolutely excellent and we love barbeque in Texas! We joined the Methodist church for Sunday services happily. Maybe there could be information in the room or at the desk of local activities and hours... For such a small room the wardrobe and chest of drawers were much too large. If these were smaller there could have been room to sit and enjoy my morning tea before my son woke up. It was quite loud on Saturday night being directly above the pub but the pub was not unreasonably late(US bars are loud until 2am and this pub was calm about midnight).
The old world feel of the place. Fabulous breakfast. No heating in room until very early morning
Central to town Old building so had charm Staff friendly and helpful Not bad point but for me would have made a difference Breakfast cereal choices -only cornflakes and coco pops - I would have liked some healthier choices - Muesli, wheetabix or bran flakes for example Also the macerator in the toilet gave off a smell when the sink was run or the toilet flushed
Very convenient location and a building with character. Service at breakfast seemed quite dilatory, as an instance I booked a 7:00 am breakfast but there was some delay before I was actually served. I don't want to register this as a complaint, but it is difficult to distinguish between commenting on things I didn't like and complaining about them.
Upgraded from twin room to 2 double rooms. None
