Good location to stop over on the way to Fjord You could not expect a good view of Fjord that is easy to find in any place of west Norway.
I liked that it was near the shopping mall and in the center of town. When I booked the hotel I was told there was a pool and that was the reason I booked the hotel, just to find out it is out of order. I needed towels in my room and the front desk made me come and get them myself. My couch had a large rip in it. The room was very hot and the hotel could not even provide a fan for my room. I was not impressed. It was the kind of service I would have expected from a cheap hostel not from a superior room at a hotel. The hotel was not worth my $220 USD.
Rooms were clean, staff very helpful. There were few facilities and not much to do in Sogndal.
Easy to find and near the centre of a lovely small town. Staff excellent but the hotel was a bit tatty. Good breakfast. Very basic facilities.
The shower and bath were too small. The shower screen was too small and so water sprayed all over the bathroom floor. The room smelt of detergent.
The room was comfortable with a great view. While I was comfortable in my room, the rest of this hotel is past due for a major remodeling.
Good location, big room, good breakfast and good facilities. The room was hot and we opened all the windows to cool it a little.
clean ,good breakfast, large room, no coffe at the room, no internet free at the loby
The situation of the hotel and the room were good; the dinner was reasonable also. There were construction works executed during our stay and we were not informed about that. There was no compensation at all. The community of Sogndal is a rather small village with poor facilities.
swinming pool, nice garden with a creek. good breafast. nice dinnung room they put wine on the table and i was mislead to assume that it is a wellcoming gift. they should put all items sold for money in a box or fridge.
The view from the window in our room was of water surrounded by mountains, perfect! Our room was clean and quite acceptable. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The hotel had the only place to eat, other than a grocery store, which closes early. The dinner was satisfactory, which is good since the server gave us the 2 selections for the evening, and being vegetarian, I was relieved that one was suitable for me. Evidently the server gets off at 9 p.m., because he never came back after bringing us our drinks and main meal; just left before asking if we wanted dessert which was included in our prix fixe dinner. The dessert wasn't as important as the feeling that we'd been abandoned. We began our meal about 8:00, which I thought was sufficient time. The only way we knew that the server had left was that a woman locked the door from the restaurant to the kitchen. Clearly it was a message to leave. No one cleared the table, just locked up!
