Location Beakfast was like a rugby scrum and very badly organised in too small a space for a buffet. We felt that due to the overcrowding in the buffet space and people moving around with cups of very hot tea and coffee there was a danger of people being scaulded. Not a pleasant experience or leasurly breakfast!
Set in a beautiful location - unfortunately we couldn't explore due to heavy rain. Nice room with french doors that opened onto the garden. Public areas are very attractive. Good food in the restaurant - reasonably priced winelist (compared to other restaurants in Belgium). Friendly staff - they don't speak English so you need a basic knowledge of French (or Dutch). Very slow check-out: it took ½ an hour. Room was a little cold.
Stunning location, excellent staff, food and wine list very good. The ground and facilities are superb, will definitely be returning.
Quiet and secluded. Good access to region. Helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. The family rooms are very good value. Lack of extended choice in restaurant. Only one price range. However there was an option of requesting 'off-menu' items.
The friendlyness of the owner and the overall setting which was very peaceful and relaxing The room was cold when we checked in at 19.30 and took a while to heat up and informed the owner who did something about it
The position and views We were in a attic room with no lift.
Amazing find in the French / Belgium border region. Rooms were large and comfortable looking out over postcard countryside. Food was a delight with brilliant wine selection. We were there to catch up with friends so did not look into the hiking, & hunting etc.
Friendly staff, good restaurant, countryside location
hotel in general but especially environment, terrace, food, atmosphere, hotel staff, restaurant (fire-place, music and the view through the window match very well together) tv in the room (only 4 channels and in German)
The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel had nice decor and was very relaxing with a cosy fireplace and bar area. The food was excellent and cooked by the owner himself. The forest & countryside surrounding the hotel was stunning, ideal for walking or cycling.
The room was cozy and comfortable. The bed was especially comfy. The hotel food was very good, and the beer and wine selection was also excellent. The staff were friendly, and spoke English very well. They provided a wealth of local knowledge, recommending things to do, as well as restaurants to visit. An overall excellent experience. The weather was bad. Not that the hotel could have done anything about this. I just felt a need to whine. That being said, the weather forced my girlfriend and I to spend more time in the room, so it all worked out.
The owners were really friendly and spoke good English. The building is about 400 years old, small and rustic. They have a huge fireplace with a big fire burning. Very atmospheric. The meal in their restaurant was a bit overpriced.
This is a nice small hotel, stylishly decorated, with imaginative cooking at dinner, and excellent breakfast. Our small bedroom was comfortable and very clean. The owners and staff were pleasant.
We were made to feel very welcome and was given very good information about the area and sight seeing possibilities.
Great weekend retreat, location and ambiance perfect. Very friendly and helpful owners
We liked the nice and large fireplace, cousy atmosphere and ambiance in general. Moreover the bed was very comfortable. We wish the room and the bathroom were bigger. The food, eventhough well done and tasty did resemble the flemish rather than valonian dishes, so maybe some consideration should be given to that.
