Comfortable room for overnight stay.
Comfortable and quiet despite being on a regularly used road
Hotel comfortable, good location Having to walk outside to get to bar / dining room
Friendly reception, good restaurant. Less than perfect shower. Sadly the chef was ill for some of my stay.
The lady owner is very kind and helpful. We had 3 dinners at the Cicero restaurant. We also had 7 breakfasts. Always very good. However, except for snails and beers, we could not get any local food (nearly everything is "imported" from the Flemish part of Belgium, from butter, to low-fat yogurt).
Closing time 23.00 is a little bit early
nothig We booked the hotel specialy for grand prize of Namur (motocross world champion ship) , we are drivers. We could' t came frome the hotel in the morning (6 a.m) beacuse the door was close. we asked to open door we were refused, because this hotel is not night hotel. We have a good chance to loose the champinship start. We did not recieve any breakfast, because of we leave hotel early.
hotel closes at 23.00 no nightshift, bar was closed because of meeting.
bathroom clean, otherwise nothing The hotel was very shabby, the staff were rude, ignoring us. The chef was ill, so no dinner, no help to find alternative. The coffee machine did not work at breakfast and they charged the bar bill to the room, after paying on the night. We have a Best Great western near to us (Centurian, Midsomer Norton, Bath) and we expexted similar.
The internet is not exactly free, to use it you need to already have an account with Swisscom.
Although we only stayed one night we found it to be absolutely delightful.
Breakfast was excellent. Location good but as it has no restaurant you need to drive to eat. The Italian restaurant recommended by the hotel was good but expensive with extremely slow service. The bedroom we stayed in could do with modernisation.
Lovely villa in a beautiful riverfront location on the Meusse. We had a grand view room with a large balcony overlooking the river. We had brought wine and enjoyed it on the balcony. The villa has that "going back in time" feeling. The area is spectacular, beautiful scenery and lovely old towns and villages. The nearby town of Namur definitely worth visiting. We were warmly greeted and as we arrived very hungry, the owner immediately phoned and made a reservation for us at a little gourmet restaurant that we walked to, just a couple of blocks down the road. We did pay separately for the quite extensive breakfast the next morning, but we enjoyed it very much. It is served in a beautiful sunroom overlooking the garden to the river. The shower, (which is a handshower) was not working, but we just used the big bathtub instead, which was perfectly fine.
We had breakfast in the room and it was excellent and fantastic value for money. The room was large and luxurious. The host was welcoming and very friendly. Very soft-spoken and unimposing. The switch between shower and bath taps was very stiff.
Very beautiful building and garden. Nice big rooms and very comfort beds. Nice bathroom. The breakfast is outstanding! Nothing.
Great breakfast - though price not included with room. We stayed with baby and accidentally forgot a soft toy. They kindly hand delivered it to Brussels! Very nice staff indeed.
The management were very good. Unobtrusive and helpful. The setting and style of the hotel is very good, reminicisient of a much more graceful age
it is situated right opposite a beautifull golf course the old fashioned bathroom and a very dated tv-screen
nice rooms and friendly staff, nice breakfast
Close to the River with wonderful views yet close to town.Comfortable room. We would use again. We Thought that the Breakfast was overpriced for what was available.Next time we would opt out of the Breakfast.
The hotel has a nice feel, good for children, excelent location. Very price/ value. I booked the hotel because it has a swimming pool, we had 2 children with us. De pool water was simply ice cold. I complaint about it at the front desk and the manager but with no result , they said the water was always 28 ° I have a pool myself in LA but this temp. was way lower than 28. Everything else was nice, I go back to Dinant regulary but will be hasitating to believe the heathed pool story so I dont know if I will book this hotel.
Problems with Sauna
the indoor swimming pool not always very clean (especially the bed cover)
The dinner we had for 11 persons was excellent
Clean, comfortable rooms. Excetionally helpful staff.
Hotel comfortable. Spacious rooms. Location is quiet and by the river. Ideal for travel by car. Hotel 25 minutes away from city centre by bus. I was there on business so we were provided with transport every morning and evening. Last bus is at 9.22. If you miss this, You have to phone a taxi - walking from city to hotel is out of the question - too far away.
It was comfortable, quiet and relaxing as a stopping iff point on the long journey from Italy. It was also excellent for an evening trip into the old town of Namur. As a disabled person, it was a long walk to the room.
Dinner in the Hotel restaurant was well prepared and presented with an eye to detail and quality of ingredients. Very good.
Best thing about it is also the worst. Lovely and secluded but also hard to get to and as Namur is innundated with taxis getting back in the evening was difficult. Also good value as we got a deal for 60 Euros for the night, probably not worth it at over 100.
Chateau itself Meal is good but rather expensive
Enjoyed Breakfast, the ambience was better in the morning then evening. Didn't like the renovation, too much of the history had been wiped out..
The owner, cook, receptionist was very friendly, and always on hand to offer suggestions. Rate was good. Parking was a bit of a challenge; because although the hotel had parking available out back, it wasn't clear how to reach it. I parked in the public lot just over the street - which worked out fine.
The Chateau is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were spaceous, clean and comfortable. Very nice bathrooms and decor in the room.
The location and the food The interior was not as traditional as we had imagined it would be
Nice location No way near a 4 star hotel, too expensive, restaurant portions not enough to feed a small kid.
Excellent location; excellent meals
Very nice old building which surprises with very modern interior and rooms. Rooms are large and very nicely fitted. Can't beat this hotel for value for money. Restaurant is superb. We had a great set dinner for only 30~40 Euros and quality was top! Nothing negative to report
Friendly staff,, clean rooms, value for money and central location
Air condition a little unefficient
simple, but clean and nice I got room for smokers, possibly, so it was not smell good
excellent rate and convenient location
Conviniently located. Got a big, comfortable room. A bit of inconvinience with the soap dispenser. The paid internet service stopped working the day i was to check-out! Good thing was the hotel guy did not charge me. Breakfast too expensive.
Location There is no Hot Spot in a room
easy to find using ibis map. Good secure parking. Just a short walk fromtown centre. breakfast very expensive so didn't bother.
Clean and spacious, nice view of the citadel. The first room I was assigned was a smoking room, but I was quickly moved to a non-smoking room when I presented the problem to the front desk staff. No t happy that I had to pay for the internet which every other hotel I've stayed in in Europe has offered it free (5 in the last month).
Breakfast for Euro 10 is rather expemsive.
Helpful, pleasant staff. Very good location.
This is a Chambre d'hotes, not a hotel - but that in no way detracts from the delight of it. The room was spacious, comfortable, with an excellent shower and the furnishings are definately not from a "chain" - they're much more welcoming! Catherine, the owner, is lovely, She & her family make you feel very much at home. Breakfast is served in front of a roaring log fire in the country kitchen/dining room, home made jams & plentiful supplies of Earl Grey....what more can you ask for? Sitting chatting at the breakfast table with Catherine & her other guest was a delightful & charming start to the day. The sort of place that (especially if you travel at lot) you think has all but disappeared. Thankfully - it hasn't. Truly a delight to visit!! This is nothing specifically to do with the hotel, just something to note. Catherine is still waiting for her official Chambre d'hotes sign to be delivered from the relvant agency, so spotting the place can be difficult - especially if you're driving on your own. So - to help you find it: If you drive through Forville & the Pharmacie is on your immediate right - the hotel is the third house on your left (large brick house, set back slightly from the road, with a small horse menage at the front). If you drive through Forville & the Pharmacie is on your immediate left - you've just past the entrance to the hotel by less than 100 yards.
Very good food, friendly owner and interesting building No signage - hard to find without it
This is not a hotel but two rooms at a livery stables. This means you are treated like a friend of the family, sharing a wonderful dinner, and having an enjoyable time talking before retiring to your room. Breakfast was good with a wide variety on offer. Although we were assured that the website made it plain that this was not a hotel we were not aware of this and therefore weren't sure how to get into the place. A bigger sign would have been helpful when arriving at dusk. We have no problem with the fact that it wasn't a hotel, just that we were execting something different and thought perhaps the hotel part was at the back!
The breakfast buffet is ... uninspired. You can survive, but the choices of bread, coffee, croissants, etc., are not up to Belgien quality standards.
The breakfast was nice and it's a nice touch to have free water in the fridge in the room. The view over the river must be good if you're on the right side, which I wasn't. I didn't get the good view. The internet was slow and should be free.
Good location, good breakfast, parking easy enough, but compared to previous visits to Namur I thought the town was very dirty: too much litter, too many rats roaming freely by the Sambre, etc. The town council has some work to do to bring this historic town up to good condition. Not the hotels fault I know but perhaps some pressure is needed. The hotel stank of cigarette smoke. The charge of €9.90 for wifi is ridiculous: in this day and age that is similar to charging extra for the toilet rolls. Yes, I would recommend this hotel on grounds of location, but it has a way to go in terms of customer services.
clean quiet room reception desk and breakfast room and hotel rooms and that s all there is, very nice restruant in the casino, but if you had children you would have to find somewhere to eat to out. Ideal for an over night stay or business trips. Found parking difficult but can use casino car park for 5 euros.
The Location is great despite the main road. I didn't appreciate not being allowed into the Hotel Restaurant without a passport (It's in the Casino) so I ate elsewhere.
Spacious room - plenty of space for suitcases. Large, comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom facilities.
Central Location Lengthy procedure to gain access to the Casino
I wouldn't suggest this hotel unless you like Casino games Smoke is permitted in shared rooms, The reception is empty because of the Casino
The building. The rooms were dated and the bathroom needed renovations. The complimentary breakfast was appaling, the coffee machine was not working the fruit juice was watered down. The rooms smelt of smoke even though we requested an non smiking room. The staff did not really speak english. The parking was operated but a random door man that insisted on cash, but free parking is available on the street.
Spacious, comfortable room, great view
Good location - near the station and the town centre and tourist attractions. Buffet breakfast better than expected. The hotel still allows smoking and the seats and ashtrays in the corridors mean that you have to walk through a very smoky atmosphere to get to the lift and also smoke permeates into all the rooms on the floor.
The room was quiet, and the hotel very conveniently situated.
nothing Very Old, no air conditionning, not really a 3 star hotel, less comfort than expected, decoration is hugly, if you plan to relax after a long journey, go elseware ...
Very kind and helpful staff. Nice location. good breakfast. Bathroom as well as the room could have been cleaner. We found some rubbish under the bed as well as hair in the bath. We had to leave the water run for 10 minutes before it turned hot...
The location of the hotel in the city centre, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the accommodation and a great continental breakfast all make this a lovely hotel to stay in. I'll certainly go again!
Good location, reasonably utilated and sized room. Room smelled (somebody had been sick there, apparently, and the cleaning staff had done a poor job cleaning afterward). The hotel was full so I could not be moved, and there was no cleaning staff left to do additional cleaning. I had to invent ways to keep my clothes non-smelly till morning... Very poor English at the reception, as well.
Excellent location. In summer it would be unbearably hot.
Friendly staff. Spacious room. Good access to station and shops. Soft bed
Very helpful staff. Large, comfortable room and bathroom. Location close to railway station, so I easily commuted to Brussels for business meetings. Close to city centre and shops. Breakfast room cosy.
Location close to the station. The blanket was quite thin, and there wasn't a second one in the room.
