Pros: The staff is very friendly, our Family Suite was spacious and well equipped (full kitchen!), and breakfast was very good. But the location in the village of Kastraki, up against the Metora outcroppings, was the best! We ate both nights at a taverna in the town square and our daughter joined local children on the town playground after supper!
Cons: I can't really think of anything.

Pros: very good position near to the monasteries and fantastic view of the balkonies the rooms have the basic and we have a nice dinner in the taverna to have the owner .
Pros: its one of the best place i never visit .If you want to see the meteora this place is what you want. And the taverna to have the owner have fantastic food.
Pros: The location is excellent for walking access to 4 of the monasteries. The staff are very helpful and made us feel very welcome at all times.
Pros: This family run guest house was fantastic. Our spotless room overlooked Meteora. Nikos, the owner, helped us with whatever we needed. His taverna, next door, was the hub of activity in the evening. Kastraki was a far better place to stay than the larger Kalambaka. We would recomend this to anyone who intends to visit the area.
Pros: Loved it, The owners - family - are great. They also offer fantastic home made food. And of course there is a great view of the Meteora
Pros: Located in centre of calm, but quaint small village Kastraki. Lively village of Kalambaka nearby and the Meteora monastries at a stone's throw. Very friendly host and good food in his restaurant. Absolutely recommendable.
Pros: Had a really nice stay at Guest House Plakias. The room was really large with a balcony, were you had a wonderful view of the mountains of Meteora. The brothers Nikos and Dimitri and their mother make you really feel at home. The meals at their Taverna were a great example of traditional Greek dishes. All made by the brothers on the grill or by their mother in the kitchen. The Taverna had a nice blend of locals and tourists.
Pros: Nikkos and his family were great hosts. They made us feel very welcome.
Cons: It's just across from the church and the bells are loud, especially on Sunday morning.
Pros: Plakias is a little gem.The ensuite rooms are bright and spacious with balcony views of Meteora. Breakfast is served in the adjoining rustic taverna, shaded by two large trees. It also serves home-made meals and is popular with locals and tourists alike. There is also free WiFi. All of this alone would make Plakias a great place to stay. Yet there is more; the hospitality and generosity of Dimitris, Nikos and their extended family is truly amazing. I stayed for 6 nights and it was a privilege. A very happy and charming experience

Pros: Mr Papastathis and his wife made me feel as at home.
Mr Papastathis speaks very good German, and is always available for a talk with his guests and to tell them about tours in Meteora, Greece, etc. The house is in standard style, the room was big, clean, with a nice view, comfortable, parking (!) and breakfast was simple but very good. WIFI free, but mainly in the dinning room (in the bedroom was a little weak). Very nice terrace in front of the house, with wonderfull view! All in all the value for money rate was excellent.
Cons: I have always problems with showers with a simple courtain...You know, the floor in the toilet becomes wet and there are no elements available to clean after the shower, and then have to clean with the bath carpet, what may be is not optimal.
The dining room is big and has a good view but needs some more ambience (music from time to time, colour..), some life, specially during breakfast or at night.
When visiting Kalambaka, Guesthouse Papastathis is a great choice to consider. Free self parking is an added perk, and guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails. A bar/lounge and a terrace are other highlights, and rooms offer balconies and plasma TVs.
Pros: peaceful environment with back yard overlooking the mountains.
Cons: It was a little too far from the bus station. Better for those who drive or arrive by the nearby train station.

Pros: Great couple running hotel-they were very friendly and gave us lots of information Great restaurant. Huge breakfast. Clean, comfortable rooms.Quiet location. Great location for access to Meteora. Best small hotel we have stayed at. Fantastic value.
Pros: I really enjoyed the terrace with a magnificent view of Meteora. I also enjoyed the personnel that was very gentle with us. The beds were clean, the bathroom was better than in the photos. Breakfast was nice with the same great view. We recommended this guesthouse to our friends and family.
Cons: Maybe we would have liked to have breakfast on our own terrace.
Pros: Very good location to visit Metheora. Very friendly staff and really nice family atmosphere. Very good taverne, you do not have to look for place for lunch or dinner. Really nice place!
Pros: Location was great, the close view from the windows of the Meteora clifs was spectacular. Also the places of interest are in 5-10 min walk. Room was incredibly comfortable, clean and big. The food choices in taverna were vast and delicious. The owners of the hotel were great and friendly. They helped us in everything and gave a lot of information regarding the monastries. There was free internet and good parking. Without any doubt this hotel might been recommended for those who want to enjoy the quiet and magnificient surroundings of the Meteora. With any doubt we would return back there and recommend it to other tourists.
Pros: Very nice owners!
Pros: Excellent service, super-friendly family running the hotel. They give you all the information you might need about anything. They really try to help you to enjoy your stay. With no doubt, they were the most friendly people we found in 2 weeks in Greece. The breakfast was very good, and more than enough to explore Meteora. Apart from being an excellent hotel, it's the best place to have dinner in the town (economic, good quality and very tasty).
Pros: Magnificent view.

Pros: the best hotel in Meteora
Pros: excellent, high-class hotel
Cons: complicated to find
Pros: location, view of mountains
Cons: still looks like unfinished property, not enough clients
Pros: The quality of the hotel, the incredible view of the Meteora from the room, and the friendliness of the staff and owners.
Cons: We did not have a car, so the location was a bit difficult. One needs access to a car, taxi, or tour bus to access the town easily.
Pros: Spaceous rooms, excellent view
Cons: Improve the sound proof of the building (!!!) and the serviced offered in order to become a 5star hotel...since it is not
Pros: Great view of the Meteora rocks from our room. Easy access and plenty of parking facilities which is unusual for the area
Cons: Breakfast starts at 8 AM, it should start earlier. They did tell us that we can have it earlier if we requested but this should be a general rule and not contingent on special request
Pros: The location is fantastic

Pros: Friendly staff, nice balcony with beautiful view and clean room. The only hotel during our stay in Greece, where payment by credit card was easy without any time consuming hassle.
Cons: No fridge in room to keep drinks cool. Driving instructions printed from Booking.com lead us to Kalambaka and after 30 minutes searching we realised that it is situated actually in Kastraki. When heading to Kastraki the hotel was clearly visible.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and as helpful as possible. The room was great with a balcony that looked out towards the rock formations. As the hotel was so close to the monasteries we took a taxi to the top and then walked back down. The hotel also had a good lounge area and and outside seating.
