This hotel is really a good base if you plan to visit Crete in 4 days, like we did. The farthest you could go are the Samarian Gorges, 2 hours away, for some hiking. But you can also get to Chania in 50 minutes, or Rethymno in 15, and these cities are worth a visit! One of the nicest in Greece. Heraklio is only an hour away, though the only thing to see there is the archeological site of Knossos. The hotel is part of an all-included chain with a good reputation. This is reflected in good service, and a very nice accomodation. The buffet is very good at the hotel, in terms of quantity and variety of food. But if you're not the type of person who likes this concept of a food buffet, than you should absolutely get to the small nearby village of Panormo (5 minutes by car), and eat at one of the traditional family restaurants there.
There many things that deserve to be mentioned. First, the ideal location, not far from the city of Rethymnon, has its merits (peace and quiet) coupled with night life opportunities in the nearby places. Next, the friendly attitude of the staff (restaurant) has created a positive atmosphere of feeling at home. Then the menu for both breakfast and dinner can be mentioned, which indeed was rich and generous. Finally, the enormous swimming pools (4 in total) and the variety of activities (sport and other) as well as the spacious and really beautiful gardens made our holiday vacations, quite an experience. The bureaucratic attitude of the hotel manager. He was quite inflexible and inelastic towards our demand for a change to a room with a sea view.
The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. Layout of grounds, beaches and pools were good. Food acceptable The bar was understaffed. We were at a table with all inclusive people, the barman came to check that we were not being given drinks by people who were all inclusive, I felt very insulted by this. Waiters cleared away our table before we had returned from the buffet with our main course, evening meal.
charming rooms, divine mattresses, lovely design of suites around courtyard, warm hospitality, delicious breakfast, great location; we extended our stay from 3 to 8 nights (got upgraded from a junior suite to andromeda maisonette and pegasus deluxe suite)
Spacious room, well equiped and well designed. The garden of the hotel where we had breakfast, which was tasty, home made and a nice variety. The owners are very friendly and offer high quality services. It is certainly a hotel that worths to visit again.
Fanstatic placement in the city, excellent value for money We had lucky for half price, full price is rather high
The best place to stay to visit this old venetian city. The hotel is located in one of the nice small streets. Beautiful furnished romantic rooms and a perfectly comfortable bed. The owners are very helpful and nice. This cute hotel gives you a great vibe and lot of positive energy. Finally we stayer longer.
wonderful beach, silent family-like hotel, veri friendly staff need a child entertainment
the location the bathroom of thre rooms -very small
I was for the first time in Crete. It is difficult to be objective without being able to compare with other options. Strong side of this hotel is also its weakness: it is quite isolated, it is located in the quite region, it is on the sea front line - there are no roads in between the hotel and the beach. Staff, especially the cleaning and canteen staff is very friendly! Do not rwrite at your web-site that the hotel Imperion is at a walking distance from the old town. It is at least 4 kms away. Of course, you may walk, but it is not 10-20 minutes! Do not misguide people.
The location was very nice - right on the beach. Excessive noise coming from Beach Bar at night. No toiletries offered in bathroom; buffet breakfast very poor
The location...absolute beach front....the breakfast was good... Old hotel....needs total repair...ants everywhere in the room...very small bathroom....not even a shampoo or bath shower...
The hotel is placed in a very quiet location, ~3 km away from the Old Town, which is a good thing - the evenings were very nice and peacfull. The staff is very pleasent and helpfull. I've really enjoyed the place. The hotel is not a 4* hotel. On the usuall, international scale it would get a solid 3*. The definite downside was the bathroom, really small and not very inviting. Another 3* item are the breakfasts, tasty and good but repetitive and with narrow a selection of dishes.
We had a maisonette with sea view which was very spacious and reasonably well equipped, Very quiet location but within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The reception was rarely manned, which meant we had to wander round looking for someone to give us telephone/internet connection, which only worked in the reception area not the room as promised. A kettle and hairdryer would have been appreciated.
Jason hotel is at the same time very central and just 5mins from the most popular sandy beach in Rethymnon. The studio was very spacious, well-equipped , clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a big pool and the breakfast was fresh and with a good selection. There was very fast WIFI/internet connection in all the hotel. Free parking in the marina, just 5mins from the hotel and the most important of all is that despite it being very central, it is very quiet and relaxing. I would surely recommend it to people who want a hotel which is central, quiet, very close to the beach and shops and value for money.
Jason hotel was right in the center of Rethymno...everything was under your feet..from museums, shops, bars,restaurants..till the sandy beach which was 50 m from the hotel..and the good thing was that it was situated in a quiet street and you could not hear anything.. the staff was really friendly and helpful and the wi-fi internet was excellent.. the room was excellent..we had a big apartment which was more comfortable than my house...it was really value for money...Jason hotel is good for everyone.. from the younger ones that have all the bars close to them, till the older ones with the museums and beach under their feet..i would definitely chose Jason hotel again! everything was excellent!
Location, location, location. It was very quiet and was very pleasant for going for a walk, staying at the pool or swimming in the deep crystal clear waters. The fact that the bed sheets are changed every other day (I assume that is not a characteristic of a 4-star (out of 5) hotel as you have rated it in your website) and the room towels every third day (unless the cleaning crew thinks they are dirty (these are the words the receptionist used)-in that case they will change them every other day. However, we requested them to be changed after staying two nights and they were changed immediately.
repeting drainage problems trying to avoid receiving credit card no food after 21:30 and poor coffee
Location of the hotel is fabulous, isolated but of outstanding natural beauty, albeit difficult access without own transport. Children liked the animation programme in particular. It is an 80s construction which apparently has been neglected for a while, that is to say the whole complex needs a bit of refreshing. Although the variety of food was remarkable we did not approve of the higher-than-average use of tinned fruits, vegetable, and juices - especially not as this is Crete!
vVisited Plakias the staff did what they have to do and nothing more
The room was well designed but the bathroom smelt really bad making the whole studio smell musty and mouldy. We sneezed and coughed all night
Layout of the resort and atmosphere were excellent, reception staff and entertainment staff very good, the location is very scenic. Lovely pools, great for children, and wonderful swimming in the cove. Enjoyed the spa and even the gym facilities. Everything was clean and well maintained. The food was not very good quality and the buffet offer was quite repetitive. Chicken wings, liver and tongue for one evening meal. Fruit at dinner limited to melon all week. We were happy to go out for dinner.
The view is spectacular. Breakfast buffet offers a wide variety, one of the best we've had. This hotel may have once been 4 stars but no longer. The older gentleman at the reception is a disrespectful, arrogant individual who should be fired. However, the rest of the reception staff was quite helpful. We received the room and it was clearly unclean (used towels, unemptied bathroom trash can containing filthy toilet paper, unchanged bed linens, bed side table with sticky residue if you know what I mean i.e. bring your own UV lamp). One morning, we were in the room when the cleaning ladies appeared. They basically only swept the floor. We had to ask the front desk for clean towels. The old reception guy asked the other desk clerk to deal with us because he couldn't care less. Many other negatives but no more space to write!
The facility is great, access to sea and walkways were excellent. The music one night was too loud & lasted too long.
Position, location, facilities Staff were not welcoming. We felt out of place and believe we were the only Brits there! On arrival, initially we had a few problems with the room and facilities and these were not dealt with properly. I would not recommend this hotel for a lone couple. A group may be welcome though?
amazing place and location, very tastefully done, interesting architecture and layout of resort, swimming pools overlooking the sea and surrounded by mountains. just beautifully done in an amazing location. wish i had planned more time to stay there !!!!!
The aircondition is insufficient for the winter. No rugs
Very Clean, modern decor and design and very quiet.....perfect!!
We loved this hotel. Very Nice room and it was cleaned every day. Staff was very polite and nice. We will come back here someday. Tv signal could been better and the shower could have been a litle bigger.
Very clean and modern, and situated very close to the beach (only one block away) and about ten minutes from the old town. Rooms have a small kitchenette so you can prepare your own food if you wish. Wifi would have been a nice addition to a modern hotel.
Mountain view room is very quiet, clean, modern. Very close to beach. Excellent value for money.
Great rooms and value for money! The rooms were very modern and clean with a really good bathroom. Excellent location with only a one minute walk to the beach and close to restaurants. There is a bakery and a big supermarket within minutes from the hotel. There was no balconies with full sea view though we got a good balcony high up were we had a good view of the harbor. Great to have a kitchenette, we used it every day. Great and friendly staff! Good to have a pool though we didn't use it much as it didn't have much sun. The kitchenette could have had some more things, such as a sharp knife and washing-up brush.
Fresh hotel. Rooms appear new and clean. Very good location, near beach an town. Small pool area
Likes the location and the cleanliness. Great value for money and lovely staff. No internet connection
very nice hotel. Absolute good value for money!
Very good service staff on reception, beautiful main hall and little garden All rooms and other premises need renovation, furniture is seem like relative new but not convenient. Air conditioner works strange, it is impossible to setup it do not blow directly to the bed. Room service is careless. Parking near the hotel after 3.00-4.00 p.m. is very difficult. There is no gym in the hotel. Definitely not four stars.
Location Nasty carpet
Achillion Palace was an ideal hotel for our holiday, close to the beach, right in the middle between the old and new areas. The old town was a 2 minute walk, loads of shops, tavernas etc. Hotel was perfectly comfartable, clean and the staff friendly. We had a great stay in Rethymnon.
Loved the swimming pool on the roof! Did not like having a smoking room. That is the only problem I had with the hotel.
Location was excellent. Really close to the old town and the beach. The staff were helpful and communication before and during our stay was very good. Breakfast could have been more varied. There was limited staff during breakfast time which meant that often tables were not cleared out quickly enough and the food was not replenished in time. But when asked they responded straightaway. Also, there were only steps at the entrance of the hotel which meant that we had to lift our suitcases ourselves, but again, when asked for help the concierge was happy to help.
The hotel is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of the old town with its shops and tavernas. The breakfast on offer is of very poor quality and the total absence of any staff to clear away dishes means that the breakfast room becomes somewhat squalid.
good price, good location, couldn't have more expectations
Friendly helpful staff. Large, nice room with balcony. Good location if you like to be both near the town and also have access to beach/seafront. Very good value for money. Good to have a fridge in room. Room was cleaned only 3 times out of the 6 days - I believe the cleaners finished at 3.30pm, but when I arrived back to my room just past 3pm, the room still was not cleaned. It may have been one of the last rooms on the cleaners schedule, but is it that unusual that guesrs wish to spend some time in room in the afternoons (given the heat outside!)? Picture of hotel in publicity material a bit misleading - I thought it might be possible to have some kind of sea/harbour view, but the hotel is located off the sea front on a street overlooking the road and other buildings on opposite side. No tea and coffee making facilities - not even access to a kettle.
Location - close enough to the city, the room was clean and spacious except the bath that can fit to babies or extra thin persons No pool in april, no view from my room. I would rate it as 3 stars. I stayed at the hotel only one night, so it was OK
Great room at a great price. they need to extend their WI-FI to the rooms. now they have it only on the lobby.
Excellent location, nice and clean rooms. Very nice swimming pool. There isn't a fridge in the room. The room hasn't got a safety box.
Nice pool area, small but central. Nice Venetian inspired decorationin the room. Great location
Excellent location. In the old town and very close to one of the beaches. Despite it's central location it was very quiet.inside the hotel. Really lked this hotel - lots of space in which to relax. Swimming pool and gardens very pleasant.
Location was good, room was large and the balcony was large and with quite sorroundings. No refrigeration to keep cold drinks
The hotel staff was very nice and the cleaning to. Also I liked the hotel´s location, close to everything! No
Excelent location in Rethymno's Old Quarter. Staff friendly and helpful. Room small but comfortable and clean.
the location, private parking and the nice pool
Location. Wish I would have had a map of how to drive into Rethyemno and specifically locate hotel. Once I got there, it was so easy to get in and out of. Liked the idea of having guest parking.
Free secure parking on site. Good to walk straight into the old town. Good layout and pool.
Good location. Friendly staff. Would be nice to have the choice of a double or twin room. We had twin room.
Noisy hotel, rooms dirty, bed never done but the breakfast was good and the staff a bit kind
The location & view from the pool is excellent & the staff were very friendly Bed was quite hard but the staff provided additional softer mattresses. The lighting in the bathroom was a bit harsh & uncomplimentary!
The rooms were brightly decorated, the staff were extremely friendly and the location was perfect. Just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The kitchenette could have been stocked slightly better. There was not enough cutlery for two people to eat. Nor were there utensils for the fryingpan. A toaster would have been nice.
it's a normal hotel with a beautiful view Not so good price/quality ratio.
Probably the nicest hotel in Agia Galini. Very nice room with an astonishing view. Very nice breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owners No cooking equipment provided in the apartment
lovely rooms, good power shower, really nice place
Good standard of fittings in the room, including good shower which we have found to be rare in Crete. Good location with great view and close to restaurant area of Agia Galini. Relatively small room with little sound insulation.
Stunning views. The rooms are simple but well decorated. The place where it is located is really nice. I booked for 3 night through booking.com but couldn't make the three days together so had to do 2 different reservations with two different rooms and differents prices. The most expensive room was not available so we were given a room for the 3 nights, which was great so that we didn't have to move. I didn't like that we were charged two prices: 95€ and 75€ for the same room. Very unfair!!
We loved the palazzo greco. It is a fantastic new hotel. Stylish and total clean rooms, an amazing designer bathroom!!! The breakfast fast not that big but ok. (Bread, jam, honey, cereals, cheese, ham, tomatoes, eggs, cake, melon, fresh juice, milk and coffee) The room had a new small kitchen with dishes and refrigerator. The pool was nice, too. The best hotel in agia galini The air conditioning was not working really good. It was slow and not very cold.
The Palazzo Grecco was a beautiful hotel. It was a pleasure to stay there. The room was delightful with matching furniture and the standard of cleanliness excellent. The view from our room was spectacular. There was nothing about the Hotel we did not like during our stay, the only improvements we would suggest if that it would have nice to have some more comfortable chairs to enjoy the view from our terrace, and it would have been nice to have been able to buy drinks and snacks.
Friendly service, excellent location. Trouble with geting phone calls to our room.
Perfect location in historic Rethymno, Crete. Wonderful room and hosts.
The friendliness of the staff and the location were a big plus for us, being between the Old Town and the Beach. One huge plus though was the quietness of the situation which was wonderful. The day bed in the room could have been more comfortable with a couple of cushions .
The hotel is housed in an old Ventian building, and there are fresh growing flowers all over the place. If you like the sight and smell of beautiful flowers and the old style feel of this quaint Ventian building, you'll definitely enjoy your stay. Also, Mythos is located in an excellent location - close to the beach, in the center of the old town, 5-10 minutes on foot to the Fortezza. Great location. The facilities are nice, but certainly not 5-star and probably not 4- star. That being said, the hotel's charm more than made up for the shortcomings and we enjoyed ourselves very much.
The staff is excellent! The whole experience was great!! There is a feeling of peacefulness about this hotel. These are really details and I really enjoyed the hotel. First, you cannnot actually cook; but you have a lot of good inexpensible restaurants. Second, there is no cleaning on Sundays. Third, matresses are quite hard, but this is a question of taste: they are new. I'm sure anyone can live with this.
The charm of the interior decoration, the relative quiet, and the proximity to all one wishes to experience in the city of Rethymno.A refreshing alternative to 'standardization, sterility of large 'international' chain hotels. the same price for my accommodation, as single occupant, for my room as my travel acqauintances paid for their double!
A lovely hotel, in an excellent location. The plunge pool was great after a day out sightseeing. Nothing
The location, and the staff. To expensive, not worth 4 star hotel
staff was very helpful. Breakfast was OK
The central location, the setup of the hotel which is an old venetian mansion transformed into a "boutique" hotel, the entrance hall and the little nice touches in the common areas. We arrived very late due to a delayed flight and we were warmly received by a very helpfull receptionist. There was a plate of fruits and a bottle of white wine waiting for us in the room. The beds were extremely hard and discomforting, it was almost impossible to find a parking place close by since the hotel is located very close to a pedestrians only shopping area. Not enough sound proofing, there was too much noise in the morning (doors closing, footsteps from above, staff moving tables). Not a 4 star hotel in my opinion.
The outdoor pool was large and filled with fresh water. The lobby area was extremely large and open. The breakfast was very good.
everything was ok, we had a nice stay, the hotel staff was very kind and helpfull. this is my first choice for rethymno.bravo.
Convenient location for a Rethymnon city break. A second key (with an odd magnetic fob to keep the electticity going) was needed by our group of 5 people, but none was available. This meant we either all stayed in at the same time, or woke up the others to get access to the room at night.
I though the hotel is overpriced for the standard of rooms. Shower was not very good. Slope in swimming pool is dangerous. People slipped so many times. Parking was also difficult. Service of staff was generally not very helpful. Could have been better. Apart from the Restaurant Manager.
Wonderfoul place to live in! the sattelite tv.inside the rooms.could be better with more channels
Nice and clean, good location, good breakfast, friendly staff Room smelled of the disinfectant they use
Friendliness of staff Small tv set in room. Good breakfast
Great family suite! My 5 friends and I could all stay together! Kostas(not sure on the spelling), the bartender was so nice and helpful!! Great pool!
H εξηπηρέτηση των υπαλληλων ηταν ιδιετερη και μασ ακανε να νιωσουμε ανετα. πιστευω πως ισως στην εξηπηρετηση του bar στην πισινα να βελτιωθει λιγακι.
The room was very spacious and clean. The pool closed at 6pm!
