road noise in the bedroom
Ideal for overnight stay on road to Portugal and South West Spain No hair dryer in room
Ease of access lukewarm breakfast
We located on the road from Portugal to Valladolid
Really is good value for money
Absolutely surprise was the restaurant, incredible price-quality combination. Perfect meal for perfect price, very friendly service and very nice local Rueda wine included in the menue price.
Excellent place to stay on-route. The restaurant and bar were excellent -well used by locals - a great recommendation in my view.
Good clean hotel Nothing
Relaxed atmosphere - perfect for an overnight stop to/from Santander.Excellent value menu de dia and a jolly bar. Car park seemed reasonably secure and free. Near auto via so could be noisy with the window open although there was air con
A great deal - in every sense. Value for money is outstanding, and the breakfast included in the price of the room was, I think, one of the best we have ever been offered. Dinner good value - starter excellent - but take a Spanish dictionary!! This a budget hotel, a little too close to the motorway for quiet, and in such a lovely room I would have enjoyed an armchair!! But do not be put off - we are looking forward to stopping over there again.
Very nice staff, always ready to help.
The hotel was modern and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. This isn't the hotel's fault but we had difficulties finding the hotel and getting to it. Signposts for the hotel were not always clearly visible and then when we saw one, we found ourselves in the wrong lane in dense traffic and had to drive past our turnoff. We went round in a few circles before we actually managed to get to the hotel. However, once we found it, we had no further problems!
as we were on our way back to Santander it was very convenient to Autoroute. It could have been anywhere as was typical Novotel, but good for all that. restaurant was overpriced, especially for breakfast
The staff was always friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations for area activities and restaurants. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
Location, ease of parking, price, cleanliness, children friendly... all positive
fantastic spacious rooms, nice pools not very easy to find and a little too far from the centre
This is a great hotel. Very welcoming, english speaking reception staff. A great bar and restaurant although breakfast is too expensive. Rooms spacious but hot! A short walk to local shops and cafe's. A short taxi ride to Plaza Mayor. We have stayed here a few times recently and always had a good time. Price of breakfast. Mini bar prices.
The comfort of the hotel, the pool because it was so hot and the staff were extremely friendly
Staff & facilities
Staff was really nice, rooms were confortable. restaurant also good. This is not a negative but it's a pitty that in summer witha temperature of 32 degrees aoutside at 20h the swimming pool closes and the inner pool that is not in the hotel but outside was also closed in the weekend.
The location and design of the hotel
Great Location No
Cleanliness Car parking was not free
Great price, lovely rooms and great location. We could not all have non-smoking rooms even though we asked for 6 non-smoking rooms at the booking.
I liked most the location, close enough to the historic city centre but on a quite place (10-15 min walk) . I liked the price for a 4 star hotel: quality and very clean.
Rooms are not so so big but they are nice.I liked very much the breakfast, i liked more that we could have it untill 10:30.It was good for us that we didn t have to wake up early. I would like to have better price because we stayed there 10days.And i would like to have more amenities with that money that we payed.
The staff was very professional. Room service was excellent. There were rooms for smokers, that was of great importance for us as we smoke. The parking was comfortable and clean. The hotel is located right opposite to El Corte Ingles and in a short distance from the historical center of the city. .
Great value for the money, very nice hotel.
Wonderful beautiful hotel. The room was clean and spacious. I really enjoyed all the furnitures in the bathroom (toothbrush, shampoo, soap, ..., ...). The personnal at the reception could have been more friendly.
Nh Bálago is a hotel with very high standard and comfort. The walk to the historic city center takes around 10 minutes. We did not want to pay a fee for parking at the hotel and found a parking spot close by. There are plenty of them for free and there is no need to worry because the neighborhood seems to be very safe. The value for money is incredible. We paid eur 68 for a double room in this great four-star hotel.
The room was modern and clean. The use of the jacuzzi and sauna was advertised as free. When we visited there was a EUR 6 charge per person and there was no water in the jazuzzi! The room and bathroom were small.
secure underground parking.
The location The reception don't speak Portuguese
NH hotels are always good ones. High level stay. none
The room was very comfortable with efficient air conditioning. Public spaces were very pleasant. Easy access by local bus to city centre. No free internet access on a hotel computer. Quite far from the city centre and the area in front of the hotel was unattractive, containing scrub grass.
The Hotel is situated outside the city.
new windows opening system
very good hotel
The hotel is freshly renovated in a very contemporary way. It is well managed, clean and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed a huge bathtub separated from rest of the room with a glass wall. Very cool! I was moved from a room to another without much explanation.
The hotel is modern and clean. bathroom was very good and the beds very comfortable. The room as usual in Spanish city hotels was a bit small. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The heating/cooling system was difficult to control. The access by car was difficult; although the hotel is on Plaza Espana its entrance is in the alley behind and it isn't obvious how to drive to the garage. The access to the garage is by elevator and requires some skill!
The very large and comfortable bed, the very friendly and helpful staff, the convenient parking, the good value, the central and convenient location. The only think I did not like is the glass-walled bathroom. Even the toilet was visible from parts of the room. This could be a deal-breaker for some people. Performing one's ablutions in full view of someone else is not everyone's cup of tea. Even so, I'd still recommend this hotel because it redeems itself in every other way.
Location and cleanliness I got stuck in the exit of the garage without any way to communicate with the front desk.
Very nice rooms, great breakfast, free wifi Price on the high side vs. value, location on busy road, pool looked much more impressive than it was in reality
Everything is just perfect : design, clearness, comfort. I really recommend a stay in this hotel. Spa is open only week-end, pool is too cold in the morning because sun comes in 2nd part of the day
excellent buffet breakfast 1) Spa facilities not included in price, extra 22 euros to pay 2) not possible to go by foot to the city centre
Presented these hotel with spa and etc. on your internet site, but when we arrive the hotel staff told me only weekend can be used also extras payment :(((
The pool & facilities are very good. Staff friendly & helpfull. Location also good. Good hotel at a good price.
Really nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Very well located.
Very clean. Confortable. Nice food. Nice design.
Beautiful Hotel, great location and very friendly staff.
The location in the commercial district is good for shopping but a little far away from musea etc., but acceptable. Too dark interior. Cleaning. Water in bathroom. Shower door was damaged already for a long time, but never repaired, even not day 2 after asking.
All the staff were very polite and friendly, the hotel decoration was very well done, our room on the 5th floor was quite large, well equipped and very stylish. We had the continental breakfast for less than 6 euros, with waiter & waitress service, a bowl of fruit, bread, ham & cheese, orange juice, coffee or tea “excellent”. One of the best all round best hotels we have stayed at in Spain Driving the car into the lift for the under ground parking a minor thing
New and very nice hotel, with an excellent location in centre and very good facilities and super friendly staff who speak amazingly good english for spanish understandings. We came with a 9 person bus wich did not fit in the underground garage, so they immediatly offered us the director's parking place. Design interior is very nice , super clean. Big rooms with raindance showers, feels like a tropical rain shower. The children had a great time although the hotel has no play facilities for them, but the staff did all kinds off extra' s for them. Breakfast is very compleet (only 7€ for extra guests) Good value for money. There is no gymfacilities. The big park is only 200 m away and there are big childrens' climb and play facilties and the most important: the two best restaurants of Valladolid Aquarium and Sabores.
Excellent quiet hotel, very modern and sophisticated in a good location. Great continental breakfast and parking available within hotel. Rooms are spacious and well equiped. The evening meal room service was very poor, cold food, no condiments or sauces which caused a complaint to be made.
Excellent reception good English and splenid girl doing breakfasts who also spoke excellent English. Comfortable room and interesting underground carpark accessed by a lift. They arranged a fourth night very effeceintly. Breakfasts were good served and a reasonable deal at 6-7 Euros. We did not find an English TV Channel for news and struggled to get weather forcast important as it was very changeable. More relaxed seating in bar would have encouraged us to use it more may be they have a terrace in good weather?
The receptionist and several waiters spoke English. Good American Style breakfast: enough to last almost all day. Excellent central location, and close to Campo Grande (large park). Great bathroom. No "didn't likes".
This hotel ticked all the boxes which is rare, since we are very fussy! Could not fault it. Excellent value for money.
Good central location with secure parking. Comfort and professional service.
Location in the town center
We liked very much the location (so close in Plaza mayor and all the nice restaurants) and the friendly welcome by the hotel owner, Roberto, who explained to us everything about the sights and the restaurants of the town. I am so sad that we did not visit the paella restaurant that Roberto suggested, but we'll definitely do that the next time! Hotel was nice and clean and I especially liked the atmosphere of city at night (many people at the streets, bars and restaurants until late at night). Not all hotel personnel can speak English well, but this is not a big deal: we got used to this at Valladolid and I it's good that I started practicing my spanish! Satellite TV was almost impossible to watch almost each of the 4 days that we stayed: signal had periodic interruptions.
Price & location
Great location, near main square. Friendly staff. Food good and reasonably priced.
room interrior, cleaness, location the receptionist Ramiro - he was ignorant and not friendly at all
Excellent hotel, central location, friendly staff, nice breakfast
The hotel has a very good location in central Vallidolid. The hotel and the rooms are very comfortable and well decorated. The manager is particularly friendly and helpful.
Relation price/location is great, hotel a few steps away from Plaza Mayor. It's only downside is if you travel by car. It's hard to park the car in the hotel surroundings, and leaving the car in one of the city parks can cost you more that you night at this hotel. (!!!)
The location was amazing. Right beside the main square. The manager was also very friendly and helpful.
Well located, well-run, comfortable; an excellent choice. We asked for a quiet room and got one looking onto a light well, which meant that the room was rather dark and had no view. However it was certainly quiet and was very spacious. A lively atmosphere, and well used by local residents. We had a good meal in the hotel restaurant
Very nice indoor swimming pool. The hotel has great style and class.
No charge for minibar No outside pool
Relaxed atmosphere with good dining room and excellent room Currently poor access due to road works -help with best road approach would have mitigated this
Modern and comfortable design
The hotel was very well done up. It looked like a fairly recent renavation and it looked great. We had a good late night meal, which was just what we needed. Their jamon was very good. Breakfast was also great, we should have had a hot plate, but we were very satisfied with the buffet. Valadolid is a bit of a building site at the moment. The access to the hotel from the main road was very confusing and wasn't signed very well. The road surface was very bad, I was driving a BMW Z4 which has a low clearence and it wasn't a very comfortable experience. I thought i might have to walk back later and collect my suspension.
The hotel was fine. My main concern was finding the hotel. I spent 1/2 hour to locate the hotel. Precise directions to the guests is a priority here.
Great scenery, fantasticly renovated old building, very friendly staff and great service. The hotel made our weekend in Valladolid very special! It is located about 5 to 6 Km from the old Valladolid City Centre, so you need a taxi to get there. But it's location offers a great relaxing atmosphere.
delighted with the whole experience children running around at 11pm not so good
No tea or coffee making facilities in room
the hotel was very central, and the parking facilities were good. The rooms were small but very clean and functional
we spend one night, the room was very nice, the location excellent.
The room was very clean and modern. Location very good and reception staff very helpful and could speak english.
Excellent location, very comfortable room. Managers were very helpful providing maps and directions.
Quality and location of the hotel is excellent. The lack of choice for breakfast was disgraceful, fortunately they only then charged 5euros. Had they asked for any more, i would have made a complaint.
The hotel is in a great location.
Great hotel. Central in Valladolid (on foot to every highlight is possible). Nice staff, friendly atmosphere. Clean and neat rooms with minibar and flatscreen. No complaints
The very warm and helpful welcome
Good value No bar, restaurant or vehicle access. Grotty looking breakfast.
Its central but quiet location.... No... everything was fine....
Very close to the centre of Town and the bus/Train stations. Very clean room and good bar. The shower dipped out. The receptionist was very rude and the aircon didn't work.
I liked its location and its price by comparison to other hotels. The gym facility did not open until 9:00 a.m.
Twin room supplied despite me asking specifically for a double room. No explanation forthcoming. Noise from Building site opposite hotel should have been mentioned.
Very efficient & friendly service at Reception on arrival 1. Music in the restaurant - not necessary. Or at least lower the volume and get away from the old-fashioned American muzak (after all, it is a hotel in Spain). 2. Decor and furnishings in the public rooms: totally uncoordinated; needs an interior design makeover.
Friendly Staff N/A
Convenient location but not easy to find No double smoke free rooms Expensive breakfast - if you had one
The elevator was very slow, sometimes one had to wait 10 minutes. Internet access was expensive for a 4-day stay.
In town centre so good for a walk around the town. Could do wth a bit of a face lift and very little English if any is spoken by staff.
Centrally located, well priced, availability of WI-FI No programme in Enlish, like News programme on the bedroom TV. Breakfast could be a little better organised, limited cereals, cold milk available only by request, no large spoons available for cereals, yes we were supplied with the appropriate spoons when requested.
The room was pleasent and comfortable. The location was good too. Very few of the hotel could speak English so communication was difficult. I was unable to order room service because of this. Vegetarian food is also very very limited! Also the wooden floors in the bedrooms and corridors were very noisy when people were walking around.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very pleasant and helpful when possible. Location is excellent for a downtown excursion. The conceirge staff was clueless about tourist needs. They could usually not help with anything regarding sight seeing or times of local attractions. They did not have any suggestions for bus tours or even the slightest information. The tourism office is located many blocks away and they too are not very well versed in english, so were not particularly helpful.
Recently refurbished rooms, central location, free wifi in reception area.
Very central location. The bar, restaurant and parking are very expensive. You have to walk only a little ways to find more reasonably priced services.
The location was superb & central to everything. There was nowhere to park the car locally and the cost of the hotel car park was 18 Euros per day
Good value, great location & excellent breakfast.
The location is very central and within walking distance of all the best sites of Valladolid. Rooms sited over Plaza San Miguel whic can be rather noisy over the weekend.
Fresh orange juice for breakfast, warm rooms, central position The bacon at breakfast was almost raw on some mornings, the consierge and porter staff seemed to spend too much time behind the desk looking at the computer rather than looking after the guests. The advertised bar 9:00 to 24:00 closed at 22:30 when we where in it
The access to the health club should be made easier. It does not make sense in my opinion to have to ask for an extra key to use the facility. I gave up using it for that reason. See above
Very kind and comprehensive staff. I had to check out after time and they understood the situation. My best compliments for all of them. Limited (though understandably) parking places. I had to leave the car in the street.
Near city centre, though quiet area - Very clean and friendly staff
Free parking and very close to the city. Good pool and jacuzzi. A little bit old fashioned hotel, but not a problem in fact
We liked the quick access from the motorway, the large room and the ambiance of an old Spanish manor. Reception staff was quite unfriendly from the start, making our stay uncomfortable. Now we see that we missed warnings about this from some guest reviews. When the internet connection did not work in the room, we had to jump through hoops to prove it to reception; even then they did not move us next door to a workable connection until we asked.
The hotel was clean and well-equipped to a high degree. Quiet, warm and very comfortable. Maid service was excellent. Staff were all approachable and usually helpful depending on the mutual language barrier. The hotel is well-placed for visiting all the sites of interest in the region and is close to an attractive town. The menue was limited, and portion sizes small but prices inflated. Given the quality of the hotel this was the most dissapointing aspect. Breakfast was expensive but expansive and varied, and was the best value of any of the meals offered. Sometimes we were too tired to venture in to town for dinner - but there were good resturants in town serving authentic regional food more reasonably priced. Complimentary tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom would have been appreciated after a long day with tired children. Few of the staff spoke English although between their limited English and our poor Spanish, we seemed to get along. It would have helped if we had been shown the English translated menue on the first evening rather than the last. There were a few whiffs from the drains at night - a bit surprising given it was a cold April.
We liked the quiet location and the tasteful interior in traditional Spanish style. The room was comfortable.
Quiet location and large swimming pool No
The hotel's situation is the very best part, just two kilometres from the motorway, a perfectly calm place to stop over and rest from driving. The price. I found that both the room and the meals were very expensive, especially the breakfast.
Lovely building and interior, secluded and peaceful grounds, room and bathroom first class, good service, excellent breakfast, a very enjoyable experience. Garage parking.
Convenient position for our drive to South Portugal. Easy to find. Pleasant helpful staff.
space very limited menu for light meals
1st Class hotel, staff very helpful, food very good, ideal stopover if travelling through Spain close to motorway.
Staff excellent and hotel very clean & modern- restaurant service impeccable Rooms facung the main road can suffer from the road noise
Good location, clean room. Room too small.
Good internet connection.
Excellent staff, friendly and warm Nothing a first class hotel
Convenient for motorway and very comfortable
2Nd Stay Brilliant location for access to A62 Motorway and staff very helpfull. As per our first stay, we thought the hotel quite noisy. There was an exhibition on the night we stayed but even after that finished there was considerable noise both from the exterior and transmitted noise from the floor above.
Staff very pleasant. Room well appointed. Food in Restaurant excellent but 8.30 pm late for the English to eat. Bar area good. Snacks available all day. A little difficult to find. Had to drive all through the town.
It is a very comfortable, clean Hotel with excellent service at reception, secure parking and bar food / breakfast very good.
I had left a rather valuable book in my room after leaving belonging to my city public library in Belgium.I asked the reception afterwards to send it to my home against of course my payment. They could have easily sent one of their staff to a post office to mail it back to me.They didnt and made me look for an independent forwarding myself who would charge me 70 €.If they had sent the parcel themselves it would barely amount to 5 €.I think their attitude is not worthy of the service we can expect of a hotel with standing in a country which needs so much income from foreign visitors.Could You look into this and,Please, let me know what can be done;if You can before the end of this week.Thank You.Baron Dehennin
Very Clean and helpful staff.
Dining room staff . Helpful Night Manager. Good food.Facilities for dog walking. Hotel takes dogs. No porter available.Airconditioner not working properly. More pillows needed on beds. Wedding party appeared to take up all the staff.
Nice pool and sports facilities The website suggested there was an airport shuttle. Also only a small selection on the menu. I think the hotel would be great when there are people there but when we were there it was very empty.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Clean & well maintained hotel. Good sized triple room. Menus were not available in English & restaurant staff did not speak English.
Friendly staff who spoke good English. Excellent swimming pool. Easy to find on the outskirts of Valladolid. Free car parking. We thought the hotel was slightly closer to the centre of Valladolid. It is not really possible to travel into town without using the car or a local bus, especially with small children.
Staff; level of services Too far from centre, not for people without a car, poor bus service
if you enjoys tennis, padel or soccor, this place will be good. breakfast buffet...unavailable
Really helpful, friendly staff. Nice room and facilities, good value for money.
Convenient, spacious, clean, good staff. Car park layout should be safer. Breakfast disappointing and served in basement.
price and convenience busy roads/noise/parking a problem
Nothing extroardinarily good nor bad. I had an early departure so the location next to the bus station was ideal, but for a single female traveller, I stayed in my room at night. I didn´t see any/many places nearby to eat, and the restaurant seemed empty.
Helpful staff who spoke English.Nice bathroom, comfortable room and bed. One review said the hotel was too far from the city centre but it suited me to be close to the bus station, the Oriental Museum and Campo grande which is delightful and it really is quite a pleasant walk to the City centre
the check in was very quick and efficient in spite of my late(early!) arrival at 03.am, the room was quiet with very little noise in the corridors. the room was very warm and there was no fan to cool the room, also no hair dryer was provided.
Central to the historic centre of the city
It was clean and comfortable. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Also a poor selection of tv channels - no English speaking channels.
free wireless internet lot of noise from traffic even iff you are staying at the 5th floor
The hotel was within easy walking distance of the centre and the fact that they had their own garage for car parking
The location of Kris Parque -close to the bus terminal- made our trip very safe and convenient. I have no complaints.
Close to the city center. Nice and big rooms and bathrooms. Wifi works great and the staff was very helpful.
