We used this hotel as a stopping off, en route to the south west of France. Good location for us. No
Convenient to the main road without having to navigate into the centre of Niort, automated check in, decent breakfast, clean and modern decor in hotel room. It's basic but does the job well.
The location is perfect, balcony overlooking the town and its beautiful lake (if you book the slightly more expensicve room - well worth it in my opinion). Parking is excellent, but at back of hotel (bag drop off at front if required). Pool looked good (but not used). The restaurant was OK, but probably better places in town. Breakfast was expensive and the coffee was poor (from machine) - service was good though.
Clean room and situated in a fairly quiet area with shops and restaraunts close by. Bit far out of town to walk in.
comfprtable room, clean and easy to locate. no facility for evening meal
Handy stop off the A10 from Paris to Spain and the Basque country. Free wi-fi, late check-in up to 11pm. Children under 9 eat free breakfast if the parents eat Location was the middle of a complex of warehouse stores on the edge of town, with two bad restaurants next door.
Clean, comfortable, good value. Nice breakfast. Great for an overnight stay.
access to good television. wi~fi. quiet overnight good bathroom facillites all areas clean and tidy. an extra coffee satchet was requestd as there was only one in the room, and we were told each room was only allowed one satchet even though it was a double room. false economy ? breakfast grossly overpriced for selection offered.
The Kyriad Niord was a pleasant surprise after our stop in the Kyriad Saintes! The room was adequate for 2 people and the breakfast was good. The Buffalo Grill, next door, was not quite what we would have wished for our evening meal.
travling from spain back to england
Nice clean room, big comfy bed, bathrobe, quiet place.
Its location, the private on site parking, friendly staff, good restaurant, breakfast has improved a lot perhaps the quality of the fixed menu at the restaurant in the evening has gone downhill
The hotel was excellent we stayed at 2 other hotels which were much more expensive but we rated this hotel the best we stayed in. The staff were helpful and the food good to excellent. The comfort and cleanliness of the rooms was to a very high standard. Well done all at the Niort Mercure. Perhaps more food on the menu main course could be less spicy.
Location to lots of restaurants in walking distance. Distance from motorway very good and easy to find.
very relaxing in the midst of an unusually lovely large town
I liked the quiet of my room - even on 14th July.
location and private parking, nice restaurant, breakfast has improved a lot, friendly staff.
Good location and competitive priced room. Staff helpful with good English
Used the hotel as a stop-over on a drive from south-west France to the northern ferry ports. This is a very good hotel for this purpose, easy to find, good private parking, efficiently run and clean.
friendly staff; parking at the hotel; excellent restaurant breakfast too limited and fruit was more than overripe...
Easy to find, friendly staff, excellent breakfasts- plenty of everything! Rather a lot of noise from the adjacent main road particularly at night.
It was close to the motorway The toilet was too small
Very convenient for the Autoroute not the easiest place to find as the signs are not very clear - it might be easier to say it's next to the canpanille! Room fine as long as you dont mind a toilet so small that you have to open the door in order to stand up from a sitting position.
Friendly greeting upon our arrival. Lovely bright and clean room. Tea making facilities.
very friendly staff who tried very hard specially with the language barrier wooden decked path- very noisy when guests were walking past the room
The room was small but very clean and perfect for a short stay. We had to leave very early in the morning before reception opened and left a note explaining that we had not paid for meals. The staff were very understanding and helpful.
This was a motel style new hotel, the staff were friendly and efficient. The room and bathroom facilities were all quite small. Situated in a group of 4 similarly styled "modern" motel like hotels. Very convenient for the motorway. to the motorway.
very comfortable bed was not told that restaurant was closed Sunday nights, we needed a hot meal after a long day driving. Reception was also closed Sunday afternoon/evening, although the information board outside said it would be open from 17.00 hrs until 23.00 hrs.
room very comfortable. restaurant excellent !! location very good. checking in and checking out no problems ! good car parking. kettle etc in room ! toilet too small
Very new, very clean, pretty good food for the category of hotel Lat breakfast by 9.00 hrs but not just the last chance to have breakfast, everything removed from the breakfast buffet at 9.00 hrs including the coffee. Too much efficiency not enough respect for the guests still finishing breakfast. Not normal hotel practice, staff not trained properly. Could recommend for room and even dinner, not breakfast, better to go to the Campanile or other motel with a better breakfast policy.
I had major tooth ache and they found a dentist for me on a Sunday! Superb service from charming people. Thanks very much.
Great location, lovely room.
The quality of the hotel and attention to detail Extra charges for car parking
Beautiful boutique hotel. Very clean and charming. Fabulous continental breakfast and very relaxed atmosphere. We stayed there with 3 small children and whilst we were the only family, we were made to feel very welcome.
The garden. Private parking. Welcome from staff. Smell of paint in the room. Decoration of room (dark). Aggressive bats in the surrounding streets.
The central location of the hotel is excellent despite some major construction work that is taking place nearby to a large municipal car park. The lack of an elevator proved a problem for us as we had to carry our suitcase up the narrow and twisty staircase.
My wife and I were very pleaseed with this comfortable hotel. Very pleasant staff, clean, nice breakfast and very well run. We would not hesitate to book again if we return to Niort. Thank you all very much for making our stay a good one. Everything was all OK
Friendly helpful manner of the owner and staff. Secure car parking is most welcome in relieving any concerns about damage to vehicle left on street. Central location of premises is excellent Driving into Niort this hotel is extremely difficult to find - this is due to recent changes in road access. Whilst the owner mailed a map upon receipt of our booking blocked access road(s) had the GPS unit in a spin.
Well located, friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. The parking is really small (place for 5 cars) and closes at 22:00.
Very helpful staff Not hotel's fault but access was very difficult due to extensive public works which removed/closed a number of streets in the city
Great little hotel, well renovated by it's proud owner. Good position in the middle of town and very good value. Could perhaps improve the breakfast but believe these facilities are being improved the week after our stay.
The automatic system for booking a room (outside reception service hours) was not accepting foreign cards, only French ones. I was lucky that a kind French person accepted to pay for me with his card in exchange of cash.
The credit card didn't work at the front desk machine. After calling the attendant everything went ok.
The lack of any identification of a phone number to be used when experiencing difficulties 'checking-in' after 9pm was a major problem. The check-in procedure was deficient, it read my credit card and showed the reservation but asked me to swipe my card again, and when i did it did not accept it and wouldn't give us our access codes. After a long journey this was not at all helpful!!!
Easy booking on line- easy access - simple and clean room, adequate and ideal for overnight stay enroute to holiday Gite.
The bed was comfortable. The rooms were very small and the bathroom extremely small with no where to put anything, also the shower head was broken. The menu was for the cost limited. Infact after seeing the menu we decided to eat elsewhere. This wasn't because we couldn't afford it but felt that it wasn't value for money. The hotel photos are deceptive and a group of youths drinking beer and riding motorbikes up and down in front of the hotel at night wasn't ideal.
The quiet, riverside location, the food and the small size of the hotel, which meant we were not just numbers. Driveway access was difficult as we have a low sportscar
Beautiful setting and surroundings. Restaurant was severely overpriced. Staff were unfriendly and arrogant. Beware if you are not a fluent french-speaker, they will make you feel extremely uncomfortable at a very high cost to you. We will never be back and would advise fellow travellers to stay clear.
Outstanding Restaurant! The evening meal was without doubt the finest we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The chef, a remarkable young woman with an exceptional culinary talent deserves the accolade of Rising Star. The Bathroom was small and dark.
A pretty place. An excellent chef. A mirror in the bedroom would have been good. Stairs to top floor a little difficult for older people.
Location, welcome, calm, cleanliness A little pricey
Location excellent Menu very expensive
Good chef and excellent dinner Initial allocation of Junior Suite was a very gloomy and fusty tower room but had it changed. No lounge or bar and dining room closed on one of our two nights. No warmth of almosphere anywhere in the hotel. Probably nicer when it's busier and hotter
Lovely quiet hotel in the countryside. Not a lot in the area and the town is very small. The food in the restaurant was excellant although very expensive for a 3 star hotel. The room was cosy, clean but there is not a lot of room and it was expensive for 125 euros a night. Food and drink was expensive in the restaurant, although the food was excellant.Gin and tonic was 13.50 euros which is far too much to pay. Cheapest wine was around 35 euros.
A charmng small hotel, comfortable and well-appointed. Dinner was delicious and worthy of more note in the Guide Michelin than it currently has. We have stayed there several times and it has never disappointed us. I would recommend it most strongly.
The hotel could be regarded as functional only. Provided a room, shower, breakfast but little else. Hotel principal and wife were helpful. I have indicated I wouldnt recommend this hotel, but I have no knowledge of others in the locality & would consider it OK for a one night stopover Room was cramped (twin bedded room), with minimal space. There were no hot drink making facilities in the room. If coffee, tea etc were required, then they were available at a cost from reception
