Limited and costly use of the Internet or Wi-fi
The hotel staff was very accommodating. I asked if they could find the Venice marathon on TV and they found it. They massage person was willing to stay late to fit me in. The staff in the fitness center was very helpful. The bed turn down in the evening could have left a piece of chocolate or something
Wery fine hotell, service at top, good orchestra every night. One of the best 5 star hotel.
Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni did a fantastic job of taking care of us - very comfortable room, welcoming staff, and wonderful facilities. They were great with greeting you by name, suggestions on activities and arranging dining reservations. It didn't matter if you pulled up in a Bentley or not ( we didn't)
Mistral restaurant, quality of room, location and view; pool and lake swimming; access to ferries to wide range of destinations. The sommelier at Mistral was outstanding, as was all the service there. Our room (park view) was superb, spacious, elegant and had a balcony. The outdoor cafe - under the pergola - had much poorer service and value than any other part of the hotel and was disappointing.
One of the top hotels in the world. Every aspect of the stay was excellent.
The only good thing about this hotel in all honesty was the location in Bellagio. First of all this is a rather pricey place. That is fine if the hotel is worth it. 5 * this is not, I can't even push to a 4 *. This was supposed to be the best hotel in Bellagio so we chose to stay here for our friends' wedding in Varena. The hotel staff was cranky - not a smile on anyone there, if you ever could find someone! I felt like I was in the movie The Shining. The hotel was very depressing, really in need of renovation. It smelled old and musty-- there were lace doilies with plants throughout the hotel -- I felt like we were staying with Grandma! Electric outlets in our room didn't work, nor did the safe. Every noise could be heard in the hotel, doors slamming, echoes. I do not recommend you stay here.
We were made to feel so special and nothing was ever to much for the wonderful staff
Staff very eager to please Sadly our well behaved dog was restricted to room and non-public areas. He was welcome in the village terrace bars and surely could have been also welcome in the hotel casual terrace bar. We can find hotels more accepting of dogs. Hence my non-recommendation below.
Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful Italian lakeside town - spectacular setting, beautiful gardens - hard to get to but worth it - rooms and hotel kept very clean - crisp linen bedding - Concierge very helpful with car rental, day trip to visit nearby villa, dinner reservations etc. - delicious buffet breakfast Didnt realize Bellagio was so far north - hard to get to as you have to navigate along a steep, narrow, winding road - We did not know that you could take a car ferry from Como which would have made things a lot easier - However, the hotel was beautiful
We have stayed at the Villa Serbelloni three times and have enjoyed the elegance, romantic ambiance and comfortable rooms. The food was excellent in both dining rooms and the service excellent. The concierge gave us good information. We were also given an upgrade....great. there is nothing we did not enjoy about the hotel.
Proximity to boats and shops with a reasonable and convenient restaurant attached. Breakfast. Plenty of choice but awful coffee, a toaster that did not toast, boiled eggs hours old, scrambled eggs and bacon watery and mostly cold.
Hotel was very nice, although a bit pricey. Location was excellent, as was the service. I was pleased with our stay and would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
The excellent position and the mini suite was of a high standard, breakfast was good by european standards with wide selection of items.
The situation of the hotel directly facing the lake The bar staff were a little slow in coming to serve drinks outside the hotel
The location of the hotel is beautiful. The room was comfortable and the staff was very accomidating. We would gladly stay again in the future.
The location was wonderful. The staff very friendly and helpful, the room was great with a view over the lake . Expensive
Great location with outstanding views from front rooms and (small) breakfast terrace. Large comfortable room. Free internet in reception.
Location, location, location. I had a room overlooking Lake Como, so the view was beautiful. Extremely nice staff. My room also had a large bathroom, although some did not. Good value. Nice size room. No Internet in rooms, only lobby. Lobby is small and hardly accommodated those who needed Internet. Also, no room left for other guests to sit. No iron in room and/or no ironing room. Big problem as I always iro when I get to hotel. Had to pay neighboring cleaners business to press my clothes, and they weren't open until the following day after check-in, etc. I would say hotel is good for romance but not good enough for honeymoon.
The room was attractive and comfortable with a nice view of Lake Como. THe staff was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
We had a nice room with a lake view--just what we had asked for. Nice buffet breakfast included with room. We were very pleased.
-Very frIendly and helpful staf. Fantastic wiew to the lake, better than luxury hotels or rich people villas have. Large living/bedroom with kitchen facilities. Very good price value. Excelent heating/air conditioning system. Cleaning very good inside and outside the hotel. Garage incl. price. Breakfast well enough to compare the price.
This hotel is breaht takingly beautiful. Has a very zen like, serene feel to it. Rooms are very simple, clean. Wonderful big, deep tub, towel warming racks, powerful shower heads, internet access via cable provided by front desk for 10 euro deposit. They gave us a ride to and from town at no cost. Breakfast provided. A little removed from central bellagio. Approx a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from in town, cost about 10 euro. Worth every penny. Wonderful front desk staff, wonderful facility, couldnt ask for a better view. I will definitely go back to this hotel. None
The hotel is about 5mins drive from Bellagio. Without a car, it would have been very difficult to get the town centre even though there is a bus (very infrequent - every 2 hours) which stops right outside the hotel. However, the hotel offers a shuttle service between the hotel and the town centre on request, which is a great service. This hotel is brand new and has modern decoration with a great view of the lake. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom could have been a bit more functional e.g. a glass shower screen. Otherwise, a very big bathroom.
Very good location, excellent service. Non
Spectacular view. Very nice rooms. Getting there by public transit with relatively large luggage was challenging.
The views from our room were spectacular....4* The bathroom was very modern but the hand held shower & no curtain made for a wet bathrom...2* All rooms seem to have either patios or balconies and all faced lake Como.4*. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle several times a day and provides parking..4* They have a lovely pool with views...4* The beds were comfortable...3* The hotel is remote and too far from Ballagio to walk. Often the management is condescending. The very basic continental breakfast was over priced but the first shuttle didn't run until 10 am and there is no place within walking distance.
There's nothing negative to say. Great room, great balcony, great view, great service, good price.
The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Facilites excellent, parking available. Brand new hotel.
All rooms have amazing view of the lake and the mountains, rooms are large and very clean.
Location. No free wifi.
This was an excellent place to stay, from the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. The spa facilities are wonderful and the views from the hotel can only be described as spectacular. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Enjoyed our stay, this is the forth accasion we've stayed and have never been disappointed, although it's getting rather PRICY - see what you can do for regular supporters - It's costly enough flying from Australia Not applicable
Staff at the desk were very helpful. The location was fine, and views from the dining room were spectacular. Noisy motor scooters passing by after we'd gone to bed (we were on the street side of the hotel)
The staff was very helpful and the location terrilfic.
Location, fantastic view from the room, friendly and clean Room was gloomy, bathroom was small and shower was tiny.breakfast fruits were not ripe.
It has a good location and must have been a lovely hotel in its day. The hotel is old and dated. It was expensive and yet the carpets need to be replaced, the hairdrier was brocken, bed linen was a bit shabby.
The view from our room and location It is old and needs major updates, parking is difficult
Breakfast was good, yet served in a room away from the spectacular lake view which was a bit puzzling since that view is what they promote on their website as a selling feature. Bed was very hard and pillows thin and hard - I was glad we were only booked for 1 night on it. Given the star rating of the hotel, the bathroom toiletries & paper supplies were very cheap compared to other similarly rated hotels we stayed in this same trip.
The location and the view of the hotel was fascinating. The city of Varenna is a really nice place. The stuff of the hotel were very nice and friendly (especially the receptionist). The room was poor and old furnished, equiped (e.g. old TV set), however it was clean and the common areas of the hotel was beautiful. Because of the quality of the room we think the hotel does not reach the 4 stars.
A great position, get a lake facing view
The location was great and the view from our room could not have been better.
Staying in a room with a balcony overlooking Lake Como. The hotel staff was reticent to recommend restaurants aside from their own.
Varenna is a beautiful place and hotel location is perfect This is the most overpriced hotel we ever stayed in. Poor service, hotel facilities and our room, very limited breakfast were not worth the money we payed.
Beautiful view of lake and mountains. The hotel felt old but very luxurious. The room and bathroom were huge and very comfortable. Parking was scarce.
Location was great, room very nice, breakfast average. 38 steps to front door workable, parking convenient and free!
Visit Bellagio Nothing. Some people thought the rear rooms were dark but we didn't and it was nice look out on a cobble alley
The location of the hotel.
Purchased the room with a view and our jaws literally dropped to the floor once we walked into our room because of how unbelievable the view was. Aside from that, the furniture, decor, and amenities within the room are all very update and seemingly very new. The style of the furniture and decor are also fitting for a Lake Como hotel. The included breakfast was delicious and the entire staff was unbelievably sweet. Keep in mind there is a good amount of stairs to walk up to the front door of the hotel in case you have a lot of luggage. But no complains whatsoever about this place. It was amazing.
The staff was very friendly. This particularly lady at the front desk offered information about good places to see and eat. And the restaurant she recommended turned out to be very good. It didn't have a bar.
Nice location but a little overpriced....but then most are in Bellagio. Still like it very much
Clean room, breakfast not rich but ok,quiet place I have booked a room with a lake view, but I was given a one without. They said it was me who was mistaken.Their lake view rooms cost 160 and mine was 140,but it was on promotion. The horel is not worth the money, but apparently it is because of the touristique attraction of Belaggio
Incredible location; views of Lake Como and the mountains. Very good value. Room was somewhat small but very tastefully decorated. Very helpful and pleasant staff No complaints
Helpful staff, very convenient location. Our bed was two beds pushed together.
I fell in love with Bellagio, and this hotel was perfect for my stay. Tucked away between the upper road into town and the lower road along the lake, this hotel was charming and romantic with big, huge views of the lake and mountains. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. The owner, Jane, was gracious, welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast on the small terrace, overlooking the town was delightful. I loved it so much, I extended my stay by another day and would have moved in if they would have let me. The night clerk did not give me my requested "wake-up" call the first day, and woke me an hour late the second day. I didn't ask for one on the third day. Other than that, a perfect stay.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was well located, clean and the view from our room was stunning. Breakfast was basic but ample. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and if we were to return to the area we would definetely look to stay here again. Nothing related to the hotel.
The hotel enjoys an excellent location very close to the 2 ferry piers in Bellagio. The bedrooms are very basic in every respect.
The location is great--right on the shore of Lake Como--and is beautiful. Loved it all.
Location Common Areas a bit shabby
Clean room with tiny but pleasant balcony (4th floor) & superb view over lake. Nice bathroom with good shower & plenty of towels. Hot drink making facility in room would have been nice. No bar in hotel.
A fantastic location.Plenty of space in the room and the most wonderful view. The hotel really needs a serious renovation...everything is a little outdated and in need of modernisation.
The hotel is in the most wonderful position. Rooms are below par, no air con - the eating area is very basic with a breakfast that is best forgotten
Location Evening meals and service
Down town location was great! View of the lake was exactly what I wanted. N/A
Bedroom very small but very clean
Reasonable & a great view of Como. We loved the old world look especially with beautiful marble throughout.
very friendly staff it was a bit basic but ofr 1 night it served its purpose well
The most beautiful location near the Lake Como.
The staff, facilities and view were all excellent. The location is by a busy road, so expect traffic noise all day & night.
The staff member who spoke English was very helpful. Nice room and excellent dining room/food. Directly across street from the lake. Most sight-seeing available after taking buses from hotel.
The staff, the food and the location.
Friendly family run hotel, food was great Kind of remote......as far as things to do in the evening
free parking and clean rooms There is nothing in the immediate environment other than a view of the lake from across the street. Our room faced a trailer park which was right next to our balcony and windows. There is nowhere to go to by foot so you don't get that holiday feeling.
great family cooking , superb atmosphere, great location, we'll go back
amazing meals served in a wonderful dinning room quite out of the way if you do not have a car
friendly staff thought our room had a view of lake como
The view from the hotel patio is amazing! Very romantic and a gorgeous place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff were most helpful & there was an option to eat an 'snack' at the hotel if you were too tired to venture out for dinner. We did not have a vehicle and so used this option a couple of times.
Location was above the actual village of Bellagio with spectacular views. We had an "apartment". Large upstairs great room with bedroom and bath below.
The view cannot be described with words, probably the best spot in the lake como area
Spectacular location. Friendly, welcoming staff. Free, ample car parking
The view of Lake Como is magnificent and staff were very warm and friendly.
The room was warm. Breakfast.
The outstanding view on the lake, the friendliness of the staff.
Extraordinary hotel, with excellent, friendly and helpful staff. We have sincerely enjoyed warmness and nice service provided. The hotel room had great view over Como lake. I will be coming to this hotel without doubt many more times! all was great
The panorama is truly outstanding and the rooms were fine. the staff were very nice and helpful. If going to Bellagio you need to decide between staying on the lake or above the lake at Il Perlo. We felt staying above the lake and looking down was a superior option. Nothing but I would not stay here without a car. It is theoretically possible to walk to and from Bellagio to town but only on a very narrow 2 direction road that has no pedestrian foot path. Unsafe and unenjoyable. Il Perlo will drive you but this is obviously somewhat less convenient. If you have a car don't stay anywhere else.
A nice simple clean hotel, modern large rooms, helpful staff. Well positioned for a five minute walk to Gravedona centre (there's no restaurant at the hotel, at least in the low season, but a couple of good places on the waterfront). Like many hotels around the lake it is right on the lakeside road, which is busy pretty much all night. Gravedona has a very different feel to the resorts on the southern end of the lake - less plush, more relaxed.
The person at the check-in was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the morning was incredibly good. Free Wifi did not work in the hotel room, but worked in the reception area.
Supernice breakfast buffet, very friendly family-owned hotel, quiet part of the Como lake, very nice and spacious room with lake-side view (no street noise problem), nice pool
We liked everything about the place! It was like a resort in many ways, but smaller, offering the marvellous personal touch of the managers. The hotel was truly classy. Clean, ...gorgeous, in its furnishings, spacious,...truly tasteful and beautiful. While there were many wonderful things about the Hotel La Villa, the couple who manage it are first class, genuine professionals of hospitality. they made every thing come to life for a lovely holiday time. No.
