Closing time 23.00 is a little bit early
The lady owner is very kind and helpful. We had 3 dinners at the Cicero restaurant. We also had 7 breakfasts. Always very good. However, except for snails and beers, we could not get any local food (nearly everything is "imported" from the Flemish part of Belgium, from butter, to low-fat yogurt).
The internet is not exactly free, to use it you need to already have an account with Swisscom.
Comfortable and quiet despite being on a regularly used road
nothig We booked the hotel specialy for grand prize of Namur (motocross world champion ship) , we are drivers. We could' t came frome the hotel in the morning (6 a.m) beacuse the door was close. we asked to open door we were refused, because this hotel is not night hotel. We have a good chance to loose the champinship start. We did not recieve any breakfast, because of we leave hotel early.
hotel closes at 23.00 no nightshift, bar was closed because of meeting.
Comfortable room for overnight stay.
bathroom clean, otherwise nothing The hotel was very shabby, the staff were rude, ignoring us. The chef was ill, so no dinner, no help to find alternative. The coffee machine did not work at breakfast and they charged the bar bill to the room, after paying on the night. We have a Best Great western near to us (Centurian, Midsomer Norton, Bath) and we expexted similar.
Friendly reception, good restaurant. Less than perfect shower. Sadly the chef was ill for some of my stay.
Hotel comfortable, good location Having to walk outside to get to bar / dining room
it is situated right opposite a beautifull golf course the old fashioned bathroom and a very dated tv-screen
Lovely villa in a beautiful riverfront location on the Meusse. We had a grand view room with a large balcony overlooking the river. We had brought wine and enjoyed it on the balcony. The villa has that "going back in time" feeling. The area is spectacular, beautiful scenery and lovely old towns and villages. The nearby town of Namur definitely worth visiting. We were warmly greeted and as we arrived very hungry, the owner immediately phoned and made a reservation for us at a little gourmet restaurant that we walked to, just a couple of blocks down the road. We did pay separately for the quite extensive breakfast the next morning, but we enjoyed it very much. It is served in a beautiful sunroom overlooking the garden to the river. The shower, (which is a handshower) was not working, but we just used the big bathtub instead, which was perfectly fine.
nice rooms and friendly staff, nice breakfast
Although we only stayed one night we found it to be absolutely delightful.
The management were very good. Unobtrusive and helpful. The setting and style of the hotel is very good, reminicisient of a much more graceful age
Very beautiful building and garden. Nice big rooms and very comfort beds. Nice bathroom. The breakfast is outstanding! Nothing.
We had breakfast in the room and it was excellent and fantastic value for money. The room was large and luxurious. The host was welcoming and very friendly. Very soft-spoken and unimposing. The switch between shower and bath taps was very stiff.
Great breakfast - though price not included with room. We stayed with baby and accidentally forgot a soft toy. They kindly hand delivered it to Brussels! Very nice staff indeed.
Breakfast was excellent. Location good but as it has no restaurant you need to drive to eat. The Italian restaurant recommended by the hotel was good but expensive with extremely slow service. The bedroom we stayed in could do with modernisation.
Friendly staff,, clean rooms, value for money and central location
Air condition a little unefficient
Location There is no Hot Spot in a room
simple, but clean and nice I got room for smokers, possibly, so it was not smell good
Clean and spacious, nice view of the citadel. The first room I was assigned was a smoking room, but I was quickly moved to a non-smoking room when I presented the problem to the front desk staff. No t happy that I had to pay for the internet which every other hotel I've stayed in in Europe has offered it free (5 in the last month).
easy to find using ibis map. Good secure parking. Just a short walk fromtown centre. breakfast very expensive so didn't bother.
excellent rate and convenient location
Conviniently located. Got a big, comfortable room. A bit of inconvinience with the soap dispenser. The paid internet service stopped working the day i was to check-out! Good thing was the hotel guy did not charge me. Breakfast too expensive.
Breakfast for Euro 10 is rather expemsive.
Helpful, pleasant staff. Very good location.
The hotel is in a beautiful location. The reception when we arrived was good. The rooms are well appointed and the grounds are extensive. Bin hadn't been emptied in the bathroom. Not enough hot water in the morning. Times given to us for breakfast were wrong. Absolutely no signage or information to or in the hotel (including menus/breakfast times etc). No information on the surroundings or tourist information available. Service was slow in the bar. Hotel would be impossible to find without a gps.
Environment and hotel are nice and quiet. Staff is friendly. Food is rather expensive.
Location, interior and exterior decoration, scenery. The park needed maintenance, time between courses at the restaurant long, breakfast "refill" could be quicker and sharing a table with others in the morning was a little akward.
The location and the castle. Nice lounge and bar. Nice facilities for kids. The bathroom was not clean and water was not hot for taking a bath. The service in the restaurant was poor and the breakfast is definitely low standard
Not very much at all. See below. We feel the hotel and staff missed many opportunities. From the start we were not made to feel at all welcome as we were unable to drive the car to the door. Luggage had to be dragged over stones and the wheels were then broken. The reception desk was hidden and no-one available to welcome us. There was a dead tree at the base of the stairs where a welcoming reception desk could have been. Why the dead tree was covered in silly bits of paper which no-one would read was a mystery!! The room was fine, clean and comfortable. Dinner was served cold ( scallops) and with much delay, even though there were very few guests actually dining. The barman preferred to take a phone call in the middle of taking our drinks order. We thought that the face to face customer was the most important one. We were wrong.
I liked the senary and the location very much. The people on reception were very friendly, however the people serving were not flexable at all. It was not possible to get anything to eat after 10 o'clock because we missed breakfast, and the only thing we could eat was lunch after 12 wich was a bbq. No sandwiches or what so ever. The waiters where i think a bit snobbish... see above...if you realy want to be an international hotel and not only a restaurant for the few from your neighborhood, you should instruct your servicestaff behind the bar and restaurant better. The only"normal"one was i think the manager there...
Fabulous location, beautiful building well furnished. Staff very friendly excellent facilities and grounds that you can explore. Would not recommend the restaurant which is very expensive and yet feels like a cafe. Over 114 euros for a 2 course meal for 2 with wine and yet you only get a paper serviette!! It would appear the chef tries to produce gourmet food beyond his/her abilities. Avoid the lamb which was tasteless served on undercooked beans.
Nice location Reservation issues. Check in issues. Poor understanding of parents with children
Quiet and peaceful. Luxurious without being formal and stiff. We will stay there again.
perfect natural surrounding the restaurant is closed on Monday, and we didn't know it in advande, couldn't find a restaurant if one has no car.
Very nice old building which surprises with very modern interior and rooms. Rooms are large and very nicely fitted. Can't beat this hotel for value for money. Restaurant is superb. We had a great set dinner for only 30~40 Euros and quality was top! Nothing negative to report
The owner, cook, receptionist was very friendly, and always on hand to offer suggestions. Rate was good. Parking was a bit of a challenge; because although the hotel had parking available out back, it wasn't clear how to reach it. I parked in the public lot just over the street - which worked out fine.
Dinner in the Hotel restaurant was well prepared and presented with an eye to detail and quality of ingredients. Very good.
The location and the food The interior was not as traditional as we had imagined it would be
Chateau itself Meal is good but rather expensive
Excellent location; excellent meals
Best thing about it is also the worst. Lovely and secluded but also hard to get to and as Namur is innundated with taxis getting back in the evening was difficult. Also good value as we got a deal for 60 Euros for the night, probably not worth it at over 100.
Nice location No way near a 4 star hotel, too expensive, restaurant portions not enough to feed a small kid.
The Chateau is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were spaceous, clean and comfortable. Very nice bathrooms and decor in the room.
Enjoyed Breakfast, the ambience was better in the morning then evening. Didn't like the renovation, too much of the history had been wiped out..
the indoor swimming pool not always very clean (especially the bed cover)
Hotel comfortable. Spacious rooms. Location is quiet and by the river. Ideal for travel by car. Hotel 25 minutes away from city centre by bus. I was there on business so we were provided with transport every morning and evening. Last bus is at 9.22. If you miss this, You have to phone a taxi - walking from city to hotel is out of the question - too far away.
It was comfortable, quiet and relaxing as a stopping iff point on the long journey from Italy. It was also excellent for an evening trip into the old town of Namur. As a disabled person, it was a long walk to the room.
Problems with Sauna
Close to the River with wonderful views yet close to town.Comfortable room. We would use again. We Thought that the Breakfast was overpriced for what was available.Next time we would opt out of the Breakfast.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Excetionally helpful staff.
The dinner we had for 11 persons was excellent
The hotel has a nice feel, good for children, excelent location. Very price/ value. I booked the hotel because it has a swimming pool, we had 2 children with us. De pool water was simply ice cold. I complaint about it at the front desk and the manager but with no result , they said the water was always 28 ° I have a pool myself in LA but this temp. was way lower than 28. Everything else was nice, I go back to Dinant regulary but will be hasitating to believe the heathed pool story so I dont know if I will book this hotel.
Very good food, friendly owner and interesting building No signage - hard to find without it
This is a Chambre d'hotes, not a hotel - but that in no way detracts from the delight of it. The room was spacious, comfortable, with an excellent shower and the furnishings are definately not from a "chain" - they're much more welcoming! Catherine, the owner, is lovely, She & her family make you feel very much at home. Breakfast is served in front of a roaring log fire in the country kitchen/dining room, home made jams & plentiful supplies of Earl Grey....what more can you ask for? Sitting chatting at the breakfast table with Catherine & her other guest was a delightful & charming start to the day. The sort of place that (especially if you travel at lot) you think has all but disappeared. Thankfully - it hasn't. Truly a delight to visit!! This is nothing specifically to do with the hotel, just something to note. Catherine is still waiting for her official Chambre d'hotes sign to be delivered from the relvant agency, so spotting the place can be difficult - especially if you're driving on your own. So - to help you find it: If you drive through Forville & the Pharmacie is on your immediate right - the hotel is the third house on your left (large brick house, set back slightly from the road, with a small horse menage at the front). If you drive through Forville & the Pharmacie is on your immediate left - you've just past the entrance to the hotel by less than 100 yards.
This is not a hotel but two rooms at a livery stables. This means you are treated like a friend of the family, sharing a wonderful dinner, and having an enjoyable time talking before retiring to your room. Breakfast was good with a wide variety on offer. Although we were assured that the website made it plain that this was not a hotel we were not aware of this and therefore weren't sure how to get into the place. A bigger sign would have been helpful when arriving at dusk. We have no problem with the fact that it wasn't a hotel, just that we were execting something different and thought perhaps the hotel part was at the back!
Location overlooking River Meuse, proximity to town centre, easy to find, excellent parking facility adjacent to hotel We were in rooms 20 and 22, good rooms but they (and the corridor0 had a continuous, 24h, quite loud hum, about 50Hz, probabably caused by the lift electrics and which may indicate a fault or potential fault. My wife found it difficulkt to sleep. Unfortunate, because otherwise the hotel was super.
bar area, terrace, location ,staff the rain!
reception of the guests was quite friendly compared to other hotels, the breakfast was a bit too expensive
Convenient yet quiet location, parking nearby, great river view. Breakfast too expensive at 13 euros, we went to cafe 10 mins walk away.
I thought it was a very nice and clean hotel. There was a draft from the window, so during the night it became very cold.
Being a Sunday in November the hotel was very quiet so parking no problem (free). 10-15 minutes walk into town along the riverside very pleasant and good range of places to eat in old town even Sunday night! River view is very nice but did notice mosquito netting at the window and a notice showing various flying insects on display in our room, so wonder how nice it is during hot weather. Usual Ibis room fittings but fine for a stopover. Bed comfortable and good shower. Would like to have hot drink facility in room.
Next to the river, very good shower We resented having to pay extra on arrival for a river view as they weren't very busy. No secure parking. Breakfast too expensive.
Easy walk into Dinant. Free parking.Good value. Very basic room appointments....reminded me of my college dorm. Riverside view was very scenic, however, on mild weather nights it can be very noisy as a terrace (with table tops and chairs) wraps around the first floor. A/C system did not work.
Beautiful setting, glorious views. Food was really good, right down to the breakfast boiled egg and gorgeous bread. It was very convenient for our visits to Dinant and Namur.
The hotel was in a lovely setting, in a very small village, driving distance to Dinant, which was fine as we had a car. Very peaceful and relaxing. We were told that they did not have wifi, whereas it was advertised in hotel information. That was a disappointment.
Claen rooms, good bathrooms, good breakfast The bed was a small double and fairly hard.
it was very quite, just what you need at the end of the day
the food is fantastic, both dinner and breakfast the room was quite simple and not well isolated for noice
The breakfast service and the swimming pool The toilet in the room was defective
The hotel is in a good location. It is very convenient from the hotel by car to Ruines de Montaigle,Abbey of Maredsous,Railbike in Falaen,Dinant and Namur. The staff are very kind to provide all the travel information. The hotel is clean, breakfast is very good! My parents stayed in a twin room with two single beds which are extremly too small! My father who is slim even fell down to the ground from the bed during the night! I think the bed is 70cm. Uncomfortable. You cannot be relax in such a small bed. Suggest hotel change the beds to the standard size.
Good selection of restaurants on 1 site. Decent staff. Clean and presentable and convenient. Rooms a bit basic, breakfast was poor with very limited selection.
Reception was excellent, pleasant, helpful. Room was super, plenty of space, lovely views from the windows. We did not use the main restaurant, but the brasserie was fine. Swimming pool was too cold!
Friendly staff, good clean room, three cozy restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood, free car parking, swimming pool, the calm and green surroundings. Breakfast wasn't comprehensive and was quite basic but fine. This hotel is not suitable for people without cars as access can be an issue. No mini-bar or room service. But, you can get all if you can walk down to the restaurant area which is on ground floor. The twin bed was having wheels I think. So it was moving every second you turn :). May be you can choose a king size bed for two to avoid this.
Inhouse restaurant and availble bar close by. Lovely swimming pool No particular bad points but the directions to find the hotel were rather 'vague'!
Reasonably nice view of lawn and tennis courts from the window. Parking convenient. Basically overrated at 4-star on website (hotel sign outside has three stars and even that is a bit generous). Reality disappointing after seeing attractive-looking pictures on website. Poor soundproofing in rooms, basic furniture, amenities etc and a rather empty, soulless atmosphere in public areas too.
Very comfortable room Breakfast overpriced. At 7.30am there was no one to deal with our departure and payment.
Ambience of hotel public areas and restaurant good. Recommend for overnight stay Room decor rather bland Restaurant over priced
The lady in charge was very customer friendly
Wireless connection not working quite properly
Peace and quite, great restoration job.
Good sized room, comfortable bed, pleasant staff Only had hand held shower
Friendly staff, very nice quiet environment near a small village. Spacious room. Enjoyed a quiet sit and read outside in the provided lawn chairs with cushions. Showerhead could only be mounted in a low position for sitting, so it was inconvenient to have a shower while standing up.
we like the room, very big and comfortable, the breakfast, the place, the silence, gren colour of the grass. there is no elevator.
Beautiful place in a beautiful location. We only stayed for one night but would have loved to stay for more. We will go back!
Accueil charmant endroit calme et reposant plein de charme
Great room, great location. Serene atmosphere and the staff could not be more helpful. Very much enjoyed our stay there. Breakfast was expensive at 12 euro
Very clean, friendly staff, excellent bathroom, lovely countryside around, quiet 12eur for breakfast is not cheap
Great looking place, very welcoming staff. The back of the B&B has a wonderful small patio with a pond. Rooms look great. GPS had some trouble keeping a signal when approaching due to the steep hill, you might want to be prepared with paper directions/map.
The proximity to Jardin Annevoie which was the reason for our booking at Aux Anges. We also enjoyed the dinner we had there as well as the breakfast. Our hosts were very pleasant. The outdoor patio looked very inviting but the weather during our stay didn't entice us on to it. Our room was on the 2nd floor which had a sloped ceiling meaning my husband had to be careful not to bump his head.
Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast for a really modest price.
Lovely people, good breakfast, beautiful location, pleasant rooms-if small, very enjoyable stay
very comfortable bed, lovely environment, friendly hosts squeaky door of the bathroom
Johann spoke fluent English and was most helpful, friendly and nice. The food he cooked was inventive and generally very good The single beds were narrow and the walls were thin
Warm hospitality by the owner & family, very good dinner, new & clean room, nice atmosphere in quiet Beligian coutryside etc etc... It was a perfect place for our short weekend break!
Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Nice rooms. Quite environment with beautiful view on the village.
Quiet countryside location; attractive modern stone building; extremely chic interior; well-appointed and comfortable; gourmet food and wine; excellent breakfast; free Wi-fi internet; owners (who also cook and run the place) very pleasant and helpful. You have to ask for water for your room; the dinner menu - perhaps understandably, since there were just 6 guests - has only one option (would be difficult for vegetarians).
Very nice location, clean and comfortable rooms, superb staff and outstanding dinner!
The ambience - a warm welcome , wonderful modern bedroom (very clean), amazing food in small restaurant (cooked by the proprietor), extremely relaxing, idyllic setting.
location is across the street from the best rock climbing area in Beligum. Rooms were tight but very clean and well furnished. Bathrooms are nice with full shower and tub. Staff wasn't very friendly to us Americans. They spoke no English and were obiviously put off by our lack of French. They made no effort to be nice, no smiles or friendly gestures. No one was at the hotel when we arrived, we waited about an hour till 5pm untill the staff arrived.
Room was functional.Service for dinner and breakfast efficient. Good wine list
the room and bathroom were very nice as wel as the food.very good value for money
Friendly staff who made a huge effort to speak English with us. The hotel provided great value for money. The area in which the hotel lay is beautiful. The room was excessively hot (in summer) with no ventilation other than French doors, which we weren't too keen to leave open all night.
Very nice room, friendly staff. Will most likely book the hotel again. Unfortunatley the staff did not speak english or german; only frensh and flemmish, but they did their best, to make my stay pleasent.
The food at the restaurant was good. Except for some massive language barriers the staff seemed nice enough even though we always suspected that the owners talked about us to their friends while we were in the restaurant eating. When we first got there, we were told that we would to share a room even though we reserved two seperate rooms. The room we were forced to stay in didn't have it's own bathroom, which was very inconvinient. The room's window faces the road and thus you get a lot of traffic noise and the window needed to stay open to keep the room cool (no a/c). Beds could have been softer and the hotel staff was gone by 9 P.M. Wireless internet was very weak in the rooms.
It is a cute little place, off the beaten path, with most everything you could need there including the restaurant/bar. It is not clear that this place is several kilometers away from downtown Dinant and finding it proved difficult because I did not think it was truly that far outside of town. Additionally, the walls are very thin and we just happened to room right next to several crying/screaming infants that kept us awake all night long. It is more a family setting than honeymoon/couples/backbackers. Definately not for backpackers - it's too far away without a vehicle to get to activities in town.
Quiet location, nice surroundings, close to Dinant (5 minutes drive to the center), free parking, friendly staff and free Internet Furniture and rooms in general should be renovated, Internet available only in the restaurant, check-in only till 19 that does not allow a traveller to be flexible.
The restaurant is fantastic. The rooms were a bit worn, but the location was ideal. The price charged was more than that quoted on this website.
comfortable bed. good breakfast. Unfinished bathroom, chemical toilet. No chairs. Restaurant closed. Poor value for money. Wrong star rating - should be lower.
Large room, close to the place where I was supposed to do the bussines trip Bath tube not working properly, leaking on the floor. In front of the leaving room window there was a nest of wilde bees. This was not so pleasant when I tryed to let the fresh air to come into the room
I loved the old world feel of the place, the hotel is full of character and has a wonderful charm about it. We had a great time there but customer support was lesss than wonderful.
Pleasant room Prepacked breakfast taken in bedroom
Great value & 24 hour access
Hotel was quiet and romantic because of its history. Amenities were minimal. Hotel room was not as clean as it should have been.
Friendly athmosphere, big rooms, clean No restauration in the evening ; TV screens to high and too small. No good seat in the room
None Ugly panorama: a nuclear powerplant with many electrical wires; Very disappointing room: Unpleasent smell, dust everywhere, dead insects in the curtains, clear signs of repeated water damage on the ceiling which leaked sunday morning at 7am and water was dropping on our bed and laptop; 14 eur for a terrible breakfast including croissants placed their the day before (!) and one cellophane-covered plate with cheap cheese and salami, this and the rest (yoghurt, juice and coffee) was removed from the room although we paid for it and we had to complain to get it back. No excuses from the staff. When asking for a refund for the ruined night by the water damage dripping on our beds in the early morning the owner and the staff members were totally reluctant and impolite. When I insisted they were shouting at us and a staff member told us that we have to leave immediately otherwise she would throw our stuff out of the window; when we fotodocumented the water damage she was making fun of us by doing silly dances and asking to be phographed as well.
No staff in the chateau outside of working hours
