Pros: Very nice room, silent, small cosy athmosphere, nice garden and yard, excellent wines and dinner, home feeling.
Pros: unforgettable location !!! ... the location is spectacular, intimate, immersed in silence and peace, the house the best you can imagine ... elegant, furnished with style and incredible attention to every detail. the landlord is absolutely in line with all this, elegant and with an impeccable style. We advise everyone to book a stay ... you will not forget it!
Cons: nothing to improve ... everything is perfect!
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, nice and personal staff, breakfast was appropriate, and it was a perfect spot for a weekend tour. We did however get the information when we checked out that we got a better room than we paid for, which was a bit confusing - it seems like what we got fairly well matched our expectations for a price that off season indicated quite an ambitious accomodation.
Cons: There was no AC and a bit tricky to open the windows, which wasnt so disturbing at this time but might be an issue during the summer.
Pros: Unique countryside setting in British manor style. Very friendly staff. Incredibly peaceful. Great breakfast. Beautiful nature.
Cons: Tiny bathroom, no AC or fan. Very unstable wi-fi.
Pros: Quiet and nice location with beautiful garden. There were berries growing outside. Staff was friendly and beds were very comfortable.
Cons: Value for money was not the best. Some small things were missing like a place to put your shampoo in the shower. Now we had to keep it on the floor. Also the showers tempreture thingy did not work properly but kept going back to the default setting if the shower was on. Also our towel holder came off. The window in our room (we stayed in room #9) was to the road next to the building and if there were people walking outside they could see into your room and to the bathroom door. You could not pull the shades to the window as the table was in the way. At breakfast we were surprised that the selection is not so big and mostly store bought. With this price I would've expected more variety or local products.
Pros: @ the end of the road...
Pros: The place is wonderful. Buildibgs are new, but somehow they manage to make the atmosphere as grand and good old times. Hans, the owner, is very frindly gentleman!
Cons: For us it was just perfect.
Pros: Probably the best place to stay in Åland. Excellent service, good breakfast, cosy atmosphere. Many nice places for sunbathing and relaxing outdoors and you can even go swimming from a private jetty. The atmosphere reminded us of Tuscany.
Cons: Nothing really. The only thing is that you probably need a car (or a bike) - but being in the middle of the countryside is part of the charm of this place.
Pros: Just an absolutely incredible and special place. Jackie and Hans were incredible hosts and their property is absolutely superb. Cannot wait to go back.
Brobacka Gästhem offers accommodation in Jomala and features a garden with barbecue facilities. The brightly decorated guests rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. Other facilities include 2 communal kitchens and a sauna. A gift shop is also found at Brobacka Gästhem. Mariehamn is a 15-minute drive away.
Pros: Brobacka is a beautiful, tranquil place with a lovely atmosphere. Loved the breakfast with products from the region and fresh home made bread!
Pros: Lovely accommodation, nice interior, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with local ingredients and pancake from Aland. Sauna was a nice add. We enjoyed our stay here!
Pros: This was probably the best guest house I have stayed in. Breakfast menu was excellent with a very good choice including for vegans and vegetarians. We were warmly welcomed and during our four days got to know the staff quite well. They were very helpful in giving us guidance on visits and bus timetables. We were able to hire bikes from the property at reasonable rates and also make good use of the sauna and the rowing boat. We would definitely like to return some day if we can. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: Hardly anything because we were also blessed with good weather.
Pros: Exceptional Aland B&B with very comfortable rooms/useful kitchen available/good lounge facilities. Breakfasts were excellent.
Cons: All Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. The beds were perfect and the whole gästhem was extra clean and tidy.
Cons: Room walls are quite thin, you could hear the snoring of a next door guests.
Pros: Nice room with four windows, small cafe and garden, friendly staff, central location on mainland Åland
Cons: Can’t think of anything
Pros: We liked everything, the service the style, the room, the garden and the beakfast.
Cons: If you’re traveling by bike there are no dinner options that close by, about 6 km away.
Pros: Beautiful house with stylish and cosy rooms with a small cafe downstairs. Nice garden, which seems to be developed even further. The breakfast was made of several local products which was a nice addition. We rented the bikes to visit Mariehamn and surroundings - beautiful countryside. We’d love to stay here again.
Pros: Beautiful wooden house and surrounding
Cons: The wooden house, kitchen, cafe, washroom, bedroom and the people
Pros: Breakfast was fresh
Located in Godby, Pensionat Stalldalen is by the sea, within a 10-minute drive of Kastelholm Castle and St. Mary's Church. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and an elevator (lift). A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Don't miss the bakery at ground floor!
Cons: No place (table/shelf) in the room to put your gear on.
Pros: Customerservice was excellent and a very friendly atmosphere. Christian offered us a drive to viking market. Breakfast was really good (especially the bread from the downstairs bakery). Also good was the possibility to go kayaking, biking, subboarding etc. Overall a great place
Pros: The Åland Islands are beautiful, calm and calming. This industrial scale pension remains a work in progress but already offers a great breakfast, free bicycle hire and beautifully quiet accommodation. When the path to the brewery taproom and gastropub 800 metres away is completed the overall offer will improve markedly. The advice about tourism is pretty good already.
Cons: There is no lift and you need to carry your own bags.
Pros: Personal and very nice design when entering the hotel floor which was two or three floors up. The breakfast was personal and generous.
Cons: The entrance right outside of the hotel. It felt like going into a community hospital entrance.... But when climbing up the stairs to hotel floor, it was a completely different experience.
Pros: Location is wonderful, Godby is the centre of the main island. The hotel has a very big yard facing a beautiful lake, surrounded by trees. We even saw wild deers on the path nearby. It's amazing. The host Christian is great, He is an oudoor activity fan, so, Please contact him in advance，He can arrange a lot of interesting outdoor activities for you And even a group. BTW, the Trek bycicles offered freely by the hotel are really nice to explore paradical and colorful Aland islands especially in spring and autumn. The hotel is quite big and some part is still to be construted in future, however this is not a problem to the customers since mornings and nights are tranquil as always. We really missing the peace there when We back to the bustling And hustling city. There is also a small lovely bakery inside the hotel, delicious Soup is offered at noons of Friday and weekends, don't miss it. A brewery of types of beer And foods is nearby, Same property of the host. A cosy place for lunch and dinner. Strongly recommend this hotel to visitors to Aland.
Pros: Location is next to a lake, very scenic. You need a car. Breakfast is uber good when taken at the bakery nearby (their fresh bread is so yummy)
Cons: It's still pretty much under renovation, basic things were missing (hairdryer, basic toiletries, etc)
Pros: The breakfast was very good and plentiful. If the weather is good the breakfast location in front of sea was amazing. the ower are very kind and available to help us.
Pros: Great location, spacious& comfy apartment.
Cons: Refurb not quite done yet - will be even better once done!
Pros: - Very quiet location in beautiful surroundings. - Good breakfast with local products. - Very friendly and helpful owners.
Cons: - Still under construction - but this did not really harm our experience. - Price was 10% higher than expected, without explanation. - Would have been nice if boat rental were available on that beautiful lake!
Pros: Breakfast, clean rooms
This privately owned Bed & Breakfast is located in the Åland village of Saltvik, within short driving distance from most of the island's sights. The Viking Village of Saltvik, which hosts an annual Viking Festival, is located right next to the property. At Saltvik Bed & Breakfast you will find a garden, as well as a shared kitchen and lounge for guests. The large lawns surrounding the property are perfect for outdoor games or sunbathing. Guests can also take the short 1.4 km walk to visit the picturesque village church. The property offers free parking. Mariehamn Airport is within 23 km and the ferry ports are 25 km away.
Pros: Lovely place and pleasant hostress. We liked!
Pros: Very nice staff, very good breakfast! The cafe at the B&B was open until 9pm - very rare at Åland islands! The facilities are large, including a common room with games (in Swedish), kitchen for cooking your meal, nice area to stay outside, book shelf etc. Our room included a private faucet and sink, which was very handy for washing face/teeth etc. The owner speaks fluent Finnish (the rest of staff don't though)!
Cons: The shared bathrooms could have been a better cleaned. The system with "vacant/occupied"-sign in front of the door leading to two showers and one toilet was a bit weird, since you could still separately lock the other shower room and the toilet - so blocking the whole bathroom facility when one of the showers were in use. Would have liked a mosquito net, since on a hot summer day we would have liked to keep the window open in the evening.
Pros: Peaceful , beautiful.
Cons: The doors - when opening and closing- were noisy. If you are a sensitive sleeper, it could be a problem.
Pros: Cosy, idyllic place, well located. Extremely nice and friendly host. Felt like staying over at a good friend's place. Good place also to get in touch with other guests.
Surrounded by greenery, this hostel is in Godby Village, about 50 metres from Åland Sports Centre. It provides a fully equipped shared kitchen, a TV lounge and a garden. All of Godby Vandrarhem’s rooms have shared toilets and showers. The kitchen features a microwave and freezer, and a dining area is also available. Guests enjoy free access to the hostel’s washing machines and dryers. Wi-Fi is free in public areas. Åland Sports Centre's facilities include a gym, an indoor pool and various ball game courts. The Centre's café serves drinks, snacks and light dishes. Mariehamn is 15 km from Vandarhem Godby. Shops and restaurants are found within 10 minutes’ walk, and Godby Beach is just 1 km away.
Pros: The place is located a few km outside of Mariehamn but worth the mission on public transport :) This place must be magical in the summer. I would come for a week and cycle or hike for days :)
Cons: The winter price should be a little cheaper :)
Pros: A lot of toilets and showers on the floor, good kitchen. Local brewery stallhagen nearby as well as supermarkets.
Pros: Being low season I was the only guest in a very big common room, I enjoyed the privacy and also having a chat in the kitchen with the few other guests. And the pool and sauna in the very nearby centre (1 minute walk!) with discount for guests. They left me breakfast in the fridge and there was a good choice of food / drinks. I would like to be back in summer and rent a bike too, a perfect place for easy going and sociable people who love sports and activities.
Cons: There were may dirty coffee cups in the sink probably left by previous guests. I didn't mind so much and I knew a big group just left, but I had to wash the cutlery I needed.
Pros: Really relaxing place, If you want some tranquility, somewhere to recover , or a good pause in your trip go there. Not much to see around, rent a bike and go to Kastlehoms, bikes are a little hard but It helps, , good Supermarkets near It.
Cons: Nothing to do with the hostel, but they give me the bus timetable to Marienhamn and the bus simply did not passed , I was waiting for more than one hour, It was supposed to pass 3 busses in this period but no one passed, my ship was to leave Soon , a had to pay 35 euros to a táxi , Just got on time to take the boat. Be carefull with the bus hours, take it the earlier you can. Well, the breakfast is quite expensive, better you make It by your self
Pros: Kitchen was clean, so were toilets and showers, rooms and corridors. All were bright and clean.
Cons: There could be more than just boiled eggs for warm part of breakfast.
Pros: It's very clean place with great shared kitchen and living room, comfortable foye with sofas, perfect touristic information about Alaands available in the shared zones. Rapid wifi network and tv.
Cons: There was no locked storage boxes for laggage.
Pros: Really nice hostel with great facilities- a nice kitchen with sofa area and tv. There is a sports centre next door with a swimming pool and gym. Would be a great place to go in summer!
Cons: Godby takes 20/30 mins by car from mariehamn and the buses aren’t very frequent, especially on weekends. I wouldn’t recommend it for a one night stay and I wouldn’t recommend going there during winter because of the limited daylight. I was the only person in the hostel!
Pros: It's probably the cheapest hostel in a whole Aland Islands but still good and worth to give a go. Nothing actually bad to be said. I was the only person in a whole building :) Krystian from #Visit111
Pros: Staffs are extremely helpful and friendly. The hostel is really clean and cozy. I was luckily the only one in my room and I had a good night there. It locates in a small town which doesn’t have much to see but is quite and peaceful. There’s a pizza place in town who makes really nice pizza and salad.
Cons: Don’t go there on weekends if you don’t have a car. There’s only one bus passing the town on weekends and it takes an unacceptable long time to walk there from the port.
Pros: Location, staff, the restaurant on the camping site is awesome with great service. I also recommend to try the Sauna if possible, it was one of the best ones we have used.
Pros: Sven was one of the kindest host we've ever met. He picked us up whenever we needed. In particular, he drove 80 km to reach us and bring us back to the camping when we were exausted after a long bike ride. Moreover, he is a Very funny and friendly person, he also Gave us a small tour around Eckerö. The camping is well equipped, also with sauna, boats and hot showers. The room and the toilets were clean and the food at the Restaurant was delicious. We strongly recommend this place. Tack!
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hosts. We had a flat tyre and they were very helpful. Also excellent dishes at the restaurant, the best meatballs and onion sauce and berries, very tasty buffet for breakfast. We will definitely go back.
Pros: The staff attitude is superb, and the room and public areas are extremely clean. Definitely check out the sea-side sauna! The room looks even better than on photos.
Pros: Clean and nice sheets, beds are generally really comfy. Sweet and friendly guy working there. Good price for four bed room. Nice nearby coastal beach at Degersand.
Cons: The place needs some love, and a proper clean out. The bathroom wasn't looked over every day and also lacked a trash can. Kitchen could have some more structure, and lacked recycling possibilities. Simple things like fixing the broken swing and get rid of rubbish in the yard etc would higher the place easily. We also expected cabins and not attached rooms, but maybe our mistake.
Pros: Sven (the owner) is a exceptional friendly host and he fully lives up to his slogan that with them you are on holidays and he takes care of you. Great location.
Pros: Nice location and good restaurant nearby
Cons: Check in , beds
Pros: Great environment at the lake and sea to run, swim and row! Sven and his Son are very kind hosts. Really a lovely place where I’d liked to stay longer if possible.
Cons: Old floors of the shower facilities.
Pros: Definately worth of visiting. Super friendly personnel, peaceful surroundings and just amazing breakfast.
Pros: Good location, very nice sandy beach close by. Boat rental, bed linen and towels included. A shared kitchen with basic equipment. Plenty of bathrooms. This place had a backpackers feel to it :)
Cons: Everything was a bit outdated and would need freshening up. Only a tiny window with mosquito net in the room.
When you stay at Käringsund Resort & Conference in Eckero, you'll be next to a golf course, within a 15-minute walk of Åland Hunting and Fishing Museum and Leklandet. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Large and well established camping with many cabins. Clean and quiet place, near the beach. Excellent equipment in the cottage. Clean fridge. Comfort and soft beds.
Cons: Sauna was reserved by group of others, so huge demand.
Pros: The cabin was excellent. Newly renovated, clean, everything we needed for cooking, private sauna, big deck outside. I would come back anytime.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Pros: Location is really nice if you want some peace and quiet in a non-crowded setting. At the same time enough to do. Swim, paddle boat, canoes, etc. We did horse back riding in the area. Had our own little kitchen and outside private seating.
Cons: Our cottage was a bit run-down and up for some paint and maintenance.
Pros: Nice apartment/cabin were we could bring my dog. I think the apartment was prepared for the dog, so all textiles such as decorative couch pillows and blankets were removed, wich was good. It was well cleaned and the beds felt fresch. The resort had many activities in the area, like mini golf, wich was fun after a long day of work. The apartment had all the facilities needed.
Cons: The kitchen table top was a bit worned out and I would have liked a floor mop that would fit the bucket, for easier cleaning but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and think it was very affordable.
Pros: The location was nice, although not at all central for Åland. The sea didn't look too clean and beach area was badly maintained leaving it dirty. Bungalows were nicely situated so that there was big green area in between, so buildings were not too tightly built.
Cons: Price for only two nights was more than 500Euros. We would not have taken that but as being peak season, not much others were available. For that price I would at least expect to have clean cottage in use as well beds with sheets. Now we even had to have own linen, not to mention no breakfast. The "bungalow" we had to clean ourselves in order to avoid again additional payment. There isn't even a possibility to barbeque! It felt like money taken without actually too much given back.
Pros: Nice resort with plenty acitivies offered. Spacious grounds so houses have a lot of privacy
Cons: Nothing to complain about!

Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace in nice weather. Ålands Golf Club is a 15-minute drive away. Mariehamn town centre is 30 km away.
Pros: Nice location with nearby beach to swim. Very quiet place. Large cottage with plenty of room.
Cons: Cooking equipement (very old pans).
Pros: Staff very friendly, ideal location.
Pros: The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. Location is beautiful, next to the lake and during evenings the area is full of roedeers for animal lovers.
Pros: Nice view
Cons: Not so comfortable cottage, but we have expected it
Pros: Beautiful nature, location.
Cons: Cottage was not clean: spiders, dirty, bed quilt, uncomfortable bed, high price for rental sheets. Price per person is equal to price per person in hotel room.
Pros: The beach close to the property was nice with the sauna next to it. Good boule facility. Comfortable beds.
Cons: The choices for dinner. More home made style like Caesar salad dressing and crutongs.
Pros: The owner was extremely king and joyfully helping us with anything that we wished for. We also enjoyed the location: the peacefulness and beauty of it. Breakfast was sweet, had a sense of a cosiness..
Cons: Breakfast hours were a bit too ascetic for us, as we would have wished to be able to sleep longer, being on our vacation.
Pros: The place we chose was sooooo perfect! Communication with staff was very nice, they always were helpful, responsive and polite. There is also their cafe near by accommodation that is very convenient to have lunch or dinner with no need to go somewhere. Also it was very comfortable to have different rent opportunities (bikes, boats for fishing) in one place and we could enjoy all of that anytime when we wanted. Breakfasts were amazing, food there is very tasty. Very pleasant time spending
Located in Eckero, Eckerö Hotell & Restaurang is near the beach, within a 5-minute walk of Leklandet and Eckerohallen. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Well located, coozy and tranquile
Pros: The breakfast had plenty of choice, the soft boiled eggs and local yogurt were very good. The hotel had all the things we needed and was well located for exploring the wonderful Aland islands.
Cons: It was like stepping back into the seventies visually. The restaurant was expensive.
Pros: The restaurant with the nice patio.
Pros: Very polite and friendly lady in check-in desk Good breakfast, including Aland apples and apple juice and very good bacon Nice big room, comfortable beds, big bathroom
Cons: unfriendly lady in breakfast buffet (and answering the phone) Check-in time only until 23:00, was not possible to negotiate for night time; so not suitable if you arrive with SiljaLine, Tallink ferries; after sleeping in the car for the first night until 7:30 when front doors were opened and they started serving breakfast, even then the lady didn’t want to let us to do the check-in (asked to wait 2more hours)!!! Only after asking third time she agreed to get the other (very friendly and nice) lady who checked us in and let us to have proper sleep in beds. No refunds, discounts, extra something nor any kind of symphathy, nice words nor anything just lot’s of blaming with not so nice tone that we didn’t pay attention to check-in hours (from the lady over the phone and “greeting” us initially)- very bad experience and don’t recommend - there should be slightly cheeper options very near by
Pros: The very kind service
