The Hotel food is very good, the rooms are clean. TV wasnt working properly..
Loved the hotel, great value for money! Lovely SPA with a nice pool (although there were kids&babies after 12pm which according to their own rules shouldnt have been there - allowed only in the morning because its a SPA where people should be able to relax - they should act on it) & the breakfast was quite elaborate as well. Nothing but a good experience this was.
Breakfast was great, a great variety of food. The restaurant besides the hotel (run by the hotel) is great, good italian food and good price. The staff at the reception desk should try to be nicer, at least, one smile.
We arrived late from the airport and found it easily in the dark without a map, simply following the signs from the airport to the area the hotel was in. The breakfast room was lovely with outdoor seating in the garden. 3 swimming pools to choose from although as it was winter we didn't use them. Lovely area, still close to St Julians and Sliema by car due to the fact that Malta is such a small island. Excellent off-peak rates. The car parking set up is terrible. We had a medium sized car and had to wind our way slowly down the circular tunnel, stopping to reverse and line up several times in order not to hit the wall. After the first night we decided to use street parking instead which we found very easy as it was off-peak season.
The location was excellent and the price was very affordable! I wasn't disappointed with the choice of my booking! The beds were two single beds. I expected a double bed. Also, the breakfast starts at 7.30am - for me it was too late since I had to check out at 7am.
Very big room, excellent food would definately go again
Very nice, modern hotel, our room was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Breakfast was amazing : wide selection of food. The staff was very friendly. For people looking for intimity, the bathroom is very modern but the door can't be completely closed... 45 minutes by bus from Valetta.
the chance for a good price to get a very comfortable room with a nice view of the bay through the window and SPA included. Also there is a chance to eat in one of few different quality/price level restaurants in the complex. The internet is not for free. Even the service to buy internet access for 24 hours I couldn't buy at the reception, because they were out of it. Also, it is quiet distant from Valletta or Paceville so if you plan to spend a night partying you should plan your trip back to hotel by taxi, which is costly.
I have stayed at the Maritim Antonine before and have found it easy to find, very relaxing, very helpful & friendly staff all around the hotel. The Spa treatments are wonderful, good value for money and free use of the sauna & steam rooms is great. There is a wonderful relaxation room too where you can just sit and relax. N/A
Good views if you get a sea view room A bit dated for a four star hotel..but still good value, if the improvements are made if would be great value...
Relatively inexpensive cost for room, location is close to public bus stops and restaurants / cafes (the restaurant Al Ponte attached to hotel was excellent), and I had a great experience at the bar (very friendly bartender) and spa (great massage!) I had ants all over my floor and throughout the entire bathroom upon check-in, the room smelled like sewage, the air quality was stale and the room was humid, the towels were very thin and worn, and although the complimentary breakfast had many options and the food was okay, the quality of the juice and coffee was very poor.
First three days in one b/room apart.was very good & without fault. The second part of our stay was in studio apart. Not quite as good.Found a few niggles when we transfered.Main fault being access to the wardrobe facilities & not enough space for two persons clothing.Shower tended to flood the floor. On several occasions items were omitted when the cleaning staff had been. These were soon replaced on request. The airconditioning came on by itself on several occasions through the night, waking us up.
the view lack of flexibility by staff, not enough common facilities (such as gym - too small)
Perfect! The hotel is situated in the more quiet, remote spot of Malta. Nice sandy beach, good food, friendly people.... The average age is a bit higher then normal...
Location of the Hotel Yes, Kids were not allowed in the indoor pool after 12 and because of that we will never go again to this hotel especially if it's winter. Kids will get bored in their room and most of them they love swimming. So it's not a suitable hotel for us with 3 kids. It's a pity. Besides the room was much smaller than the one we had last time we visited. We were 4 people in a small room.
Beautifully finished room - amazing views - superb breakfast - great hospitality
We enjoyed the pool and beach facilities plus the evening entertainment were excellent. The bar staff were efficint and friendly and World Cup coverage again excellent. We ate at Flavours on the first evening and very dissapointed, the food was nowhere near the standard we expected, meat was dried up, consequently we did not eat at the hotel again. The poolside bar service not good, friendly kids but they were not looking for opportunities to serve. Reception on check out, the girl (a trainee) was fairly efficient but no eye contact.
The Serene Room with Bedroom and a separate living room and the spectacular sea views. Fantastic lagoon pool. Dreadful car park. Not enough car parking space for a large hotel as this one.
one can totally relax and instantly feel on holiday. Breakfast and Spa are excellent. We got married at the hotel and the reception was fantastic - service was excellent throughout and food was superb. Please note that the room I booked was for one of the guests and I stayed in a suite for a longer period. Kids room is smally and floor looks shabby. The carpets in our suite were not cleaned once during our stay and this was quite disappointing considering it's a five star hotel. Our bathroom was cleaned while we were in and this seems quite unprofessional to me. I think there is room for improvement where housekeeping is concerned. Also staff entered our room twice (5 mins apart) when we were in.
Everything one can possibly imagine, staff, room, cleanliness, resort, pool area. Fabulous treat. We were billed for mini bar when we did not take. apparently they were missing to start with, but because we did not open the fridge we were not aware of this. But it wasnt a problem because they were just deducted from our bill.
Good location! Cleaning of rooms was not perfect, obtaining beach towles was difficult, weak coffee and watery fruit juices at breakfast
Generally it lived up to the Kempinski name. It was a lovely experience, a peaceful setting and staff that took care of whatever you needed. I would go back again and again. The food in the bar restaurant was less than inspiring, and not cheap as it is a Kempinski. I would recommend eating out in San Lawrenz or Gharb instead. The bed was not the most comfortable - too hard and pillows were not luxurious as in other Kempinskis. It would have been nice to have a sauna in addition to the steamroom and indoor pool.
Excellent staff...nothing was too much but without being imposing.
eat drink pool squash gym all was good spa was very good used by my wife we stayed in the old part needs up dated gym also needs new and more etq
It is situated in a very picturesque area and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but at the same time close to the city centre. Comfortable room, amazing facilities as well as very helpful staff! Buffet breakfast was delicious!
Facilities were outstanding and the staff pleasant and efficient. And, on this occasion at least, all at a very reasonable price.
The room was always clean and the staff was very helpful. The view from the balcony was excellent and the pools are marvellous. Even the food was delicious. I would have added only a rug in the bathroom. Everything else was great
The hotel facilities and grounds are both roomy and impressive. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, most with nice balconies. The problem is that the hotel is located in beautiful Gozo (think Ocean view), so all guests can see from those balconies are outdoor pools and inland Gozo. Usually five-star hotels have wonderful locations with panoramic views. Such is not the case with this hotel, which faces inland and is very isolated. While the breakfast buffets were wonderful, the hotel's upscale restaurant is both very expensive and quite frankly not worth the money. The wait staff are too attentive, making it difficult to enjoy the food and the people you are with.
Staff engage with clients Poor beds, heating off so very cold
Pools, relaxation, quietness Breakfast is slightly disorganized, balconies are not private
Hotel staff were very helpful. Great customer service. Lots of families with kids and staff would seat families together as much as they could at breakfast so the kid noise was contained a bit. They tried but adults need to know that kids are a focus here. The number of people with children made the beautiful spa area and restaurants difficult to relax in as an adult. Also, the breakfast was okay but none of the beautiful fruit that we found available all over Gozo and Malta was available on the buffet. The restaurant food was not very good. We paid 45 Euro's a piece for a seafood buffet on the night of arrival and it was not great. Great food in the small village restaurants surrounding the hotel, however, which is where we ate all of our dinners after our seafood buffet experience.
The Spa was very nice, indoor pool is interconnected with outdoor heated pool layed out in a natural landscape. Sauna is also very nice with glass windows overlooking small outdoor garden We had no slippers in the room but where provided with when we asked for.
The country side ;one can wake up and have a walk right from the hotel room to the adjoining country side. The spa is also unique as the indoor area is continuous with the outside area. From spa to hotel room is partly open air and weather may not always be fine.
it was a relaxing place
SPA facilities. We had excess to both pool, Sauna, etc. Location is a ++. If you want to relax.. it is ideal. Although it is a 5 star hotel. Our room requires refurbishment. Everything was tidy. However, furniture and bathrooms looked old (90s) and at times not fully functional.
The tranquility and the garden. The humidity in the room. The lack of specified bill when paying.
peace and quiet and good service nothing
The spa It need to be refurbished at least the room we had needed so! Since it is a 5star hotel
The location was ideal for some quiet walks by Gozo cliffs, and good for exploration of cart rutts and dolmens . The view of Victoria/Rabat and other towns on Gozo and the view of both Comino, and Malta at sunrise was great. Great place to dine under some trees. Rooms are set village like with some trulli rooms and spread out around the 2 pools. The lampshades were very dusty and had black spots (mold?), I asked that the 5 lampshades be removed, but left a bad impression throughout our stay. There was a storm on our last night and the doors rattled. Furniture in our room and waiting lobby were old, had broken pieces and had faded or stained upholstery, not 5 star hotel quality. Transparent glass door to terrace / pool don't give privacy, curtains there were thick to keep out sun and view as our room didn't have a window.
Your Spa and your walks evrything was great
Hotel Ta'Cenc was very pleasant, staff were attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. There was tea&coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was fab, with a lot of selection. The cliff walk was 10mins away.Transport was provided a few times a day into Victoria&home again. The swimming pool was treat. The hotel is well designed with beautiful plants&small gardens&feels quite private.A real retreat.
Close to the beach. Many busconnections. Beautiful sea view. The aircondition did not cool the room enough. The double bed was too soft.
I liked everything.
Excellent food. Friendly staff. Great Pool facility. Close to the beach Mattress cover on the beds. Noisy airconditioner. Lack of tea & coffe facilities included in the room.
the room and the pool the food and the chaos in the restaurant
Nice Location. Friendly staff and good breakfast facilities. The swimming pool was too small and crowded for the number of people staying in the hotel.
I thought Hotel Riu Seabank in Malta was in a great location; having the beach right out in front of the hotel was perfect. The pool area was lovely, and it was very easy to get food and drinks at the pool bar. All the staff were very friendly, especially the Animation Team who do a really good job with arranging activities throughout the day. The breakfast was incredible; so much variety of food and all very fresh. The breakfast was much better than I could have every expected. The hotel rooms are quite basic but nice and clean. In summary, a very good value for money hotel which I would give 10 out of 10 and would definitely go back to.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly, expect the reception staff; they were OK. Breakfast took a long time, the system needs improving.
The location is very good if you book a seaview room you will enjoy it better. Also the spa is nice and staff is very qualified. The massage is recommended. It is a hotel for mass tourism. Too many people in the hotel. Crowded swimming pool and restaurants. Swimming pool is too small for the capacity of the hotel. The hotel facilities (mainly the rooms) are old and not well mantained. Small tv in the room. Central air conditioning that could not be controlled from the room. The hotel charge 5% tax for withdrawing money. Taxi services expensive. Quality of food for breakfast is low. It is not definitely a four-star hotel and it is overpriced for what it offers.
Gtreat stay in Malta Hotel great for the beach Room noisey from Traffic noise
i liked the swimming pool and the good food
Very friendly and helpful staff. Pool a bonus with beautiful views to the sea. Room a very ample size. The gym did not have a cross trainer or treadmill. Balcony small but adequate.
Clean confortable hotel, great food and good views
The best of the hotel is the food. Great maltese food. When we book the room, the view is to the wall, to see the sky is like a hole. In 4 star hotel i don´t think that it can happen´s. We book a room by booking, is everything ok, but when we arrive they want to charge to change room with view, but in price list only exist, non balcony, twin room (our room) and double room (studio). Don´t exist any view to charge hotel in price list, they can´t charge a thing that doens´t exist. We have a balcony, but it´s 2 meters to the wall of the other room.
The pool on the roof Loads of problems with the air conditionning. It was either roasting in the room or freezing. There was no way to regulate it. We stayed there early september and it was very hot outside so it would have been nice to have a normal temperature in the house. The hotel is a four stars but in my opinion it was more like an average three stars.
Once we had a new room, the stay was very comfortable. At checkin, they asked for full payment for the stay, and then placed us in an unacceptable room. If I had seen the room before paying, I would not have stayed at the hotel. However, once a better room was available, the stay was fine.
The room was of very high standard. I strongly recommend rooms on the back-side of the hotel since they were much more quiet. The rooms were clean and the hotel very nice. Also, the staff were very helpful!
lovely room, very clean pool too small, and not very clean at times
The big size of the room suprised us. The staff at the reception desk was not very friendly.
Goog hotel and good food both breakfast and dinner
Roof top pool was excellent to spend a lazy day. Great selection at Breakfast. Close to Bus stop for easy travel. Helpful reception staff. Not many rooms have views. I had a room with balcony overlooking the main street. Quite noisy but at least could see activity. Heard several people complain about the internal rooms, only view there was into small walled courtyard.
The indoor pool and the room was big enough for 2 adults and 3 children. The room was never cleaned, no towels change, and you have to give deposit for pool towels. the bathroom needed to be cleaned more.
Nice pools & indoor pool. Breakfast buffet was nice, and rooms were good. Room light switches on with hall light, so neighbours could switch a light inside our room on and off ... very annoying.
apartment cleaned every day with clean towels. staff very helpful & friendly, great location, fantastic view of bay & church. lots of steps to main street, but great when we discovered the lift from street which stopped outside our apt (no 11) buses very cheap and regular. food very expensive in the restaurant for the bbq night.
The aprtment had all the facilities we needed and the restaurant meant we did not have to cook. The breakfeast was good, nearly proper cooked english with proper baked beans plus a range of continental meats, cereals and waffles. The the evening meal buffet style so it was bit dry but okay if you've had a hard day. WIFI access in the communal areas was a bonous. The Hotel is split by a flight of stair so its in two blocks with an access walk way under them. This means getting around the hotel can be a bit of a maze. We had to use 3 lifts just to get to breakfeast! The gym lacked any CV equipment. No treadmill and the exercise bike was broken.
I liked the facilities in the room as these were mostly to a high standard, except the soap/showern gel was extremely poor quality. I did appreciate that people can pay for the day to use the hotel's facilitaties such as pool and sunbeds. It meant that on certain days, the pool was packed with non-guests. Guests were left without sunbeds and were advised to go to Solana, where the pool is smaller and sunbeds were still on demand.
The apartment was huge and included every kitchen utensil needed! Staff were very friendly (even the relaxed/lazy bartender) and despite the location being relatively quiet (Mellieha isn't very active out-of-season), there were still some nice bars and restaurants in the area. Surprised that we had to settle the balance (7 nights) when we first checked in; cocktails were very bland.
The Room furnishings, the Gym and the Internal Pool The WiFi was unavailable from the room. The Sofa bed was broken and the room doors had no keys (except 1)
Well appointed apartment Fire escape stairs close to our room was sealed off for the last few days
Nice, clean rooms. Good location in Mellieha, very serviceminded staff. Indoor swimmingpool @ jacuzzi could be heated (freezing cold water). We also missed a changing room for the same facilities. There were also a lot of construction work going on beside the hotel - very noisy for some hotel guests. Could be an idea to inform about this when booking the hotel
Location could be better. Breakfast was not too good not much choice.
Just the view basically. I think is it most certainly not in any way a Four Star Hotel and should immediately be downgraded - perhaps when it originally opened it may have been - I booked it on the premise that it was currently 4 Star and not at all impressed. It is verging on being run down, the carpets throughtout should be lifted - it needs to be modernised throughout and it is generally not the cleanest. The staff are not too friendly and the few days I spent there at breakfast each morning had to ask for bowls for cereal, cups for tea/coffee (which both are horrible from a machine - not 4 Star level I would think) the juice machine had run out and was only dispensing water....
I read some not so good reviews about the food and only booked bed and breakfast but the evening meal was extremely good and I thought I must mention this fact as other reviews put me off but we paid for the evening meal 6 nights out of 7 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely hotel, a bit out of the way but the bus service is extremely good. We had a car but you are never far away from anywhere on this small island.
Room and location Quality of food, especially breakfast.
For us, the hotel was situated in a nice quiet spot near the northern part of the island. The hotel rates for use of their computers for internet access or wifi is very expensive.
The view from the room The evening buffet was pretty poor
visited Gozo, swam, listen to entertainment. reception disorganised
The reception workers were quite nice, as were the taxi drivers they called ahead for us. We enjoyed the location next to Gozo and the busses stopped right outside the door (convenient). It was a little cold outside, so we wanted to use the hot tub, but it was bubbling cold water - not at all relaxing. The drinks at the bar by the pool were weak, and the food at the cafe serving lunch was not that great but then again, who goes to a place and only eats at the hotel? We were really hungry and didn't feel like waiting the hour bus ride to Valletta.
Television free Daily rate to have television channel free is absolutly not commun .
From one side location of hotel is very good. Ferry station to Gozo and Comino not far from hotel. Max. two minutes walk. From other side it is so far from places of sightseeng (Valetta, Mosta and ect.). Hotel beach nice place for snorkeling. Water in swimming pools is chlorinated too much. No free WiFi in the rooms and lobby. Monotonous breakfasts from day to day. Refrigerator in the room is chargeable. No corkscrew and tea spoons in the room. Hotel in general is equal 3stars hotel. (Not 4stars .)
Nice location, and quiet hotel/resort, no other dutch guests in that week a not working refrigerator, bad WIFI connection in room
The dining room was too small for the amount of people staying
The hote location. Reception staff do not handle customer concerns efficiently always. Houskeeping and maintenance staff are not efficient. services ( TV channels, restaurants use, and breakfast are poor).
The breakfast is definitely not what you expect in a 4 star hotel
Only the H2O scuba diving center in the hotel. The room was very humid, very noisy. You can hear the music of the nearby hotel all night long. The management of the hotel had also "privatised" the pool area for a party without informing the hotel guests, so that we were obliged to get very loud music very late at night. Breakfast absoltutely disgusting ! Not recommended at all.
overall pleasant atmosphere and good facilities (spa with fitness and whirlpool). also a bit of distance from the hussle of the melliaha beach. The food was excellent. Sometimes in peak hour during the breakfast or dinner it was hard to find a clean table or when seated, staff came only after a while... However it did not happen always. The only thing is there is not much places to go in the evenings. There is not a busy promenade or something, so just hotel premises are for your use. It is however very nice place to stay when you seek quiet private holidays
good I had to pay 15Euro deposit for 3 towels!!
Big Breakfast - peaceful place
indoor pool I had the impression that there will be wifi in the rooms aswell at least that what i had read before i went. Wi fi was only in the main areas, which i did not even bother to check i am not sure.
Very little The facilities were not available, air con not working, the hotel room was dirty etc etc
Nice indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi included in the rate of the hotel. The hotel is in a good position near the ferry terminal to Gozo and Comino but isolated from the city centre or other evening entertainment.
its location and value for money.
Spacious bedroom & bathroom, functional furnishings & decor, balcony overlooking street. Closest hotel to centre of city Shower a bit antiquated. Noisy when hotel bar closed on Saturday night.
It is modern and comfortable Its location is in a neighborhood undergoing redevelopment, currently it appears scruffy but it will improve.
I liked the room, nice colors, furniture there were some problems with water supply but were resolved within one hour
The rooms were very comfortable. I have often stayed in four and five star hotels which did not have rooms this clean. The location of the hotel is good being near the center of the Capital city of Gozo (Victoria). The facilities are mildly spartan but reasonable considering this hotel is rated as three star. The area is fairly quiet and the rooms include airconditioning for the summer heat. We stayed for three days and went up to see the Opera being performed in Victoria. The hotel even provided courtesy transport to the theater. Internet is provided free of charge but I could not get this to function in the room (via cable) but WiFi was available in the lobby. The reception and the sound quality on a number of the TV channels was generally poor and could do with improvement.
It was very modern and clean It was not in a particularly nice part of town and the street outside was noisy.
I've chosen this hotel because its central location on the island of Gozo. From Rabat (Victoria) it's very easy to reach all other places on the island. This central location is specially recommend for travellers who like to walk a lot. Apart of the ideal location the hotel is very comfortable and I had a pleasant stay there. /
easy and pleasant stay :-) good food and good service!!
Good value for money, friendly staff and the central location breakfast was not replenished when it was finished
Sunbathing on the roof pool
The hotel was clean, comfortable and affordable. Location, food, staff, spa facility
rooms are very big and comfortable. Beautiful view, excellent buffet breakfast! everyting was perfect!
Great staff - very helpful and professional. Enjoyed the service a lot! Facilities are in good condition, you can get most of what you need for your holiday at the hotel. Rooms are decent and pleasant to stay at. Breakfast is good. Bus stop is 5 mins from the hotel. We were upgraded to the better room with panoramic view and a bottle of wine with fruits were waiting for us. Can definitely recommend! be ready for the bar to close at 11-11.30pm with no other options around; if you plan to explore Malta using public transportation - that can be time consuming and last bus leaves to the hotel at 6-9pm.
plenty of room for all guests paying extra for room safe
Location Ground floor bedrooms looking out at car park had no privacy. Cars were parked outside window. Need net curtain to give some degree of privacy when in bedroom.
For me it was very relaxing, however that was more to do with the company that the hotel. The hotel has not met its potential.
Free use of spa and very good breakfasts. friendly staff. a little hard to get to and from it.
We loved the layout and facilities, the private beach, the variety of outdoor seating/hideaways. Room was excellent and we especially appreciated the variable controls on the air con, enabling it to be used all night w/o sleep being disturbed. It was very crowded in the restaurant, leaving us seaching for staff and occasioanlly seating.
The setting, the room, the spa, the view, the decor Using my laptop for Internet (in room 244 with full signal and in the lobby) was very frustrating indeed. User name and password did not work, - in fact charges were reversed. Most of the foreign staff were stressed out and were unable to give the service with a "smile".
The Spa and the staff there----excellent.The Hotel itself was very pleasant and the Manager also --"on the ball" as are all Corkonians!!! I thought that the breakfast was of inferior quality.Dinner not much better The wedding reception was top class in every way --perhaps that was due to the organizers--the bride and groom . The Hotel Chefs can do it properly when its put up to them-- the food was marvelous!
Location and friendliness of staff no
The view was spectacular. The quitness. and The cleanliness of the hotel.
Atmosphere very friendly and polite.
It is the right place and atmosphere were you forget your daily routine.
Xlendi Bay is a great location in Gozo. Hotel San Andrea was clean, nice and easy to reach, the staff was very kind and the price really good. Definetely a good choice.
location and the lunches were good size of the room 306 very small
This hotel has a great location just at the pretty Xlendi Bay. We stayed there during low season and was upgrade to a room with sea view and decide to stay one extra night. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are well cleaned. Overall a great hotel with a perfect location and good value for money. The hotel also have a good restaurant. The beds and pillows was quit hard. The breakfast can be better, we were served green boiled eggs and dry bread. Maybe it is better during high season?
Nice stay in a lovely hotel/place. Enjoyed great dinner at the resturant, which I suggest; there was a special offer for guests (€ 16, starter, fish main course, sweet. The choice was among 3 options). Excellent and smiling staff
very quiet area and perfect for a relaxing holiday at this time of year. Already recommended
the staff is very nice and the hotel has a very good restaurant!
