Many possibilities to explore nature, nice staff, big room. The hotel needs renovating-from common facilities to toilets and bathrooms. Everything is clean but looks as if it was repaired in the 80 s last time. No lift.
It is run by a family whose love for the hotel and the area shows in all they do. It is reflected in the decor, the care and service and in the exquisite cuisine. Sitting in our room with the windows open was like sitting in the forest. We felt surrounded by nature.
we were warm received by the hotel owner. Room is large and comfortable. Parking available. worth the price.
The staff, who were excellent and the food which was of the highest quality.
Staff were friendly and excellent in their level of service. We loved the quiet and rustic location. Evening meals were of excellent quality. We plan to return soon. The only thing was the price of the breakfast which, at 11 Euros, seemed a bit excessive.
Everything about this place was fantastic. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and furnished with care and attention to detail. The pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room facilities were amazing - we enjoyed a private swim in an illuminated pool before enjoying 20 minutes in the hot tub beneath the stars. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful and we were made to feel very much at home in their beautiful property. Prades is a lovely small town in a beautiful setting and has a wonderful atmosphere. C'est magnifique! That we could only stay for one night! We will definitely return!
Warm friendly welcome and breakfast with quality local produce. Unique and stylish decor.
The 'Domaine De La Tannerie' is almost the best hotel in France we've ever stayed in: appealingly arranged rooms with different topics (our room: India), a nice garden with swimming pool and jacuzzi, very kind and helpful owners and an excellent breakfast! -
Having arrived very late in the early morning due to our unfamilairity with the French roads we were disappointed to find the hotel closed. We saw a phone number to ring but our mobile did not work in this area so we looked for another hotel. We culd not find one so we went back to Le Chaumiere and tried to knock to rouse soeone, but no answer. I heard some noise coming form a cafe down the road and went down there and in our imperfect French managed to get them to ring the number and they arrnaged to ahve the hotel open. We were very lucky that we fund someone who obviously knew the hotel manager and communictaed our problem. It was especially gratifying because we had been driving for telve hours and had our 4 year old son with us. I think they need to arrnage a night bell in case things like what happened to us occure.Otehrwise the staff were very helpful and kind. The room was especially comfortable and we could not fault it in any way. The location is excellent an dthe views form the wndown were lovely and gave a tatse of the area. We had bene looking for a hotel close to the mountains and close enough to the sea so we could spend at leats a day there which we did.
I have stayed at this hotel before and standards were as high as last time the rooms are modern and first rate the breakfast on the terrace with views of the mountains is special and the staff are always friendly and helpful
clean and comfortable rooms, great meal at the restaurant, great location to visit the region no elevator, room fridge does not keep items cold
Friendliness of staff, quality of food and the interior decor were all superb and Quillan was a very pleasant town.
Room & location were very good Restaurant service was very slow (1 hour from ordering to delivery).
I liked its location in a beautiful French village, its surroundings (the river beside, green mountains, nature everywhere...)
The setting of the hotel is beauteful. The surroundings are very impressive The room was very small. The hotel is very old. There is no buffet breakfast and everythung seems like an old people house.
Very enjoyable stay, staff very helpful and friendly.Room clean and comfortable. Would stay here again No
The hotel was good value for money. The staff were very helpful and made no extra charge for additional secure car parking for a valuable vintage motor. The room was clean and the bathroom exemplary, very modern with every facility. The railway station was on the opposite side of the road, but there are only two trains a day, so not intrusive! No airconditioning, but not a problem so high in the mountains and a fan provided. Excellent hotel in house and several nearby, as are teh shops and town centre. Would stay here again. On a busy road junctions near traffic lights so traffic noise can be intrusive.
Nice and clean rooms, friendly staff No airconditioning- it was terribly hot and difficult to sleep as a result
Convenient for visiting relatives in the area. The rooms were large, reasonably well equipped but the decor was dated. Parking was difficult in the street outside the hotel but free public parking was only a short walk away.
Our room was lovely, but then we did have the family room and there were only 2 of us! View from the bathroom over the town was lovely. Private parking for the car and the precious bike was a godsend, but you must ask for it otherwise it's the public carpark opposite or the street. Just on edge but lovely walk through the streets of Quillan. The girl receptionist was very pleasant. Thanks for giving us the price of the room for being only 2 of us when it was a family room and destined to be more expensive. It was a bit shabby in places ( reception) (bathroom tiles) but a sit was only a little 2 star we forgave it! Man at hotel desk should learn to smile a bit more, considering he's meeting people all the time!
It's cuite a cute hotel, the rooms are excellent for the rate, and the staff are very helpfull and kind... I had a great stay...! :0)
Good service, clean and homely room. Daily cleaned and good views. Unobrusive staff presence. One small complaint would be the lift that emmited a gas like smell.
Friendly staff, convenient location. Responded to e mail booking request very quickly.
The Chateau was very nice, it is situated on the banks of the river Aude the rooms facing the river are fantastic. The meals and service were great although dinner was quite expensive but well worth it for at least one occassion.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. excellent restaurant Restaurant and bar opening limited in off season i.e. closed sunday to Tuesday
The staff were wonderful and the evening dinner was superb. The maitre d was extremely helpful to my friend when she was having difficulty. The lack of flowers in the courtyard which would have added to the ambience we felt. Although the food was full of flavour it was not really hot enough when it arrived at our table. Older people do appreciate a cup of tea in the room.
The room was spotless The room was possibly the smallest room we have ever stayed in in any hotel. That was very disappointing
It was a nice quiet atmosphere, very peaceful for a short stay and a good centre for trips. The evening meal was very good and nciely served, but the menu could be varied more especially for those who don't eat meat. Also fresh fruit at breaskfast would be good.
Fairytale castle, very small rooms, no air conditioning or fans available even though 36degree temps.... Arrogant rude staff who were very distant and would not engage in conversation, Argued and rudely refused to cook vegetarian food, Arrogant rude staff who were very distant and would not engage in conversation, or help with baggage etc, Waiter argued and rudely refused to cook vegetarian food, not in the least helpful.
Super location for exploring cathar country, very helpful staff the food was of a high standard and good value for money
Very nice Castle. Beautiful surroundings. Food is good too. Near Carcassonne. A bit expensive. There is not much to do in Couiza.
Can be hot in the room on hot days
Food was outstanding, staff were very attentive, hotel was beautiful, rooms were clean and comfortable. The only tiny negative point was the room was quite stuffy, we could have done with a fan or some air conditioning, but it wasn't a massive problem and we could probably have asked for one but didn't bother!
There was a lot of space in the room, also a balcony. The garden (pool)was nice although we didn't get the chance to use the facilities. The dining room and breakfast were nice. The room was smelly. I think it came from the carpet and no air conditionning. We had to sleep with the windows closed. The decor was outdated. For the price we had better elsewhere, even in more popular areas.
Location, pool, staff None, really
Not having a bar or restaurant was limiting and tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been appreciated
Warm welcome upon arrival. Quiet spacious rooms with balcony/terrace and relaxing common garden area. Good pool, perfect for unwinding after a strenuous hike in the mountains. Dated rooms (furniture, wall paper, etc). Value for money was low given remote location and decor. Breakfasts quite expensive for simple buffet, with no hot cooked options.
Big rooms, booked ahead get a good price for them. Would be good to have your own balcony, though, given distance from town.Very peaceful, hotel has games room and good lounge, too. Wi-fi not available in rooms, have to go to public areas of hotel. Tiny TV in rooms.
We had 2 adjoining rooms which was a perfect configuration for travel with our teenage daughter. Each had a separate area with mini-fridge, bathroom and (small) vestibule, so it almost felt like a small apartment. A small outdoor patio was delightful for an afternoon drink, though we could just as easily have sat at the very nice tables around the lovely pool. The host could not have been more helpful in terms of recommendations, from local restaurants and sights (several times researching places for me online). Cold drinks were available at all hours. The location was great - just below the uber-charming village of Vernet-les-Bains, a terrific base for exploring the Eastern Pyrenees. The only problem was that the windows didn't open! Once you lower the heavy gate to keep the morning sun out, it became stuffy. This was only a problem on the second of our two nights (the first night was cool), and because we were leaving, we didn't ask for assistance - so perhaps there's a solution we never learned about. I should also mention that breakfast was 12 euros - a little steep, we thought, for a buffet that was certainly a nice spread.
Good location, convenient design of rooms, nice staff. Very clean rooms, beautiful garden.
Although in need of a refurbishment we found the Mas Fleuri to be a very friendly and relaxed hotel and Stephan, manager, was very helpful.
The setting itself is comfortable and welcoming. The staff is very warm and helpful. The rooms were commodious, comfortable and clean. It is nicely situated in relation to the rest of Vernet les Bains. I think the reception sign needs to be more prominent.
central, and very clean
The reception was extremely friendly and helpful. The room with a balcony was lovely, with mountain views. The location was absolutely brilliant.
We enjoyed the resteaurant especially None
It was quiet Breakfast was extremely poor for the price of it, we wanted to cancel breakfast the night before and we were told it was too late because it had been already bought for us, and the morning after we discovered that we were only getting a croissant and a bun.
We chose this hotel because its location was convenient for us (close to the Saint Michel de Cuixa Abbey) and the price was ok. The staff served dinner more quickly so we could be in time for our concert. Dinner and breakfast were not so good for the price they charged.
Staff very friendly and efficient. The towels were old and worn. Very noisy room, particularly in the morning.
Quality of food
The hotel was portrayed as being in a much different location - there was a sports centre next door and not a friendly ambience compared to many other similar priced hotels on our trip. The value for money was not good & was the oldest room on our 3 week, 15 hotel holiday.
right next door to the municipal lido. very clean and the staff were very accommodating. bit basic
I did like nothing. The bathroom was dirty- I have found hair into the bathtube. This is the wors hotel of my life.
Unfortunately there was nothing to recommend this hotel. We only stayed 4 nights when we had booked for 5. A great disappointment as we know this area well. Reception was very dark and the receptionist unwelcoming. The room was very small with uncomfortable beds and a tiny window (no balcony) so that it appeared dreary at all times of the day.
If they stay open out of season, they need to provide the service. First room offered, bed unmade.
Convenience Difficult to find in the town
Going out Basic doesnt describe it, the amount charged which is excessive does not reflect the value for money.
Hotel is in a beautiful location but accessible. Swimming pool is lovely - warm and clean. Room was fine - not large but clean and well equipped.Buffet breakfast good value.
Service efficient Madame friendly & helpful but tried to hard English translations of menu & other hotel documentation require re-visiting as grammar does not make sense but makes for amusing reading
It was very quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable and the scenery was superb. The breakfast was very good.
Beautiful setting next to the river. Close enough to town to be useful without the noise. Comfortable room with tidy en-suite. Reception friendly - good English spoken. Small swimming pool best suited for leisure rather than training. I thought tea/coffee making facilities should have been included.
The hotel was in a beautiful location, and the room, though small, was very clean and comfortable There was no kettle in the room. So necessary when on a touring holiday.
