Pros: Guest house exceptional: Really good food, owner very sympathetic and always ready to help. I recommend it.
Pros: Very friendly staff:) wonderful food:) comfortable room.
Pros: The balcony is fantastic, especially in the evening. Natia is a very kind lady willing to arrange a lot of things for you.
Cons: The food was okay buy we've had better in Georgia. There is no shared kitchen so you have to pay for every cup of tea.
Pros: Nice people, good food!
Cons: Bring warm clothes, in the evening it can be quite cold (also inside) and the shower is not always warm...
Pros: Shina was very friendly and helpful, nice place in beautiful surroundings, great food
Cons: The first night the hotel was overbooked and we stayed at another place nearby, which was quite noisy at night.
Pros: Although pricey, the food was great
Cons: There was no hot water in the shower A bit overpriced
Pros: Natia is such an angel! Really enjoyed it there :)
Pros: Shina the host was super nice and welcoming, the food was tasty and really authentic, and a lot of it. It's in Upper Omalo so the view is much nicer.
Cons: It can get quite chilly at night, but just bring warm clothes.
Pros: Fantastic home cooked food. Great location right under the historic towers. Ideal place to chill for a couple of days and still be active in the surrounding mountains.
Located in Omalo, Guesthouse Lasharai features a garden, bar, shared lounge, and free WiFi. Staff on site can arrange airport transfers. At the hotel, each room is fitted with a balcony. With a private bathroom equipped with a shower and free toiletries, rooms at Guesthouse Lasharai also offer a mountain view. Guests at the accommodation can enjoy a continental breakfast. Guesthouse Lasharai offers a terrace. The area is popular for hiking and cycling, and car hire is available at the hotel.
Pros: The location is excellent. Friendly staff. Very tasty meals. We had everything what is needed. But the most important: the view... outstanding. I hope we will come again next year.
Pros: Great atmosphere and delicious food! Also, for those interetsed, wifi is available even though it's not mentioned on the page.
Pros: Guesthouse offers you breakfast and dinner (there are almost no other options to have dinner though). Furthermore, they can also make lunch for you. Although Booking.com says there is no WiFi, there is! Note that the guesthouse is in Upper Omalo, which is nicer, but a few kilometers further than Omalo itself. You will easily find the guesthouse once you drive to Upper Omalo. Note that also this region of Georgia is becoming more and popular for tourists. However, as it is more difficult to reach this area, you will see much less tourists compared to Kazbegi and Ushguli. Due to heavy rainfall we had to extend our stay here for 2 more nights because the pass was closed (or at least very dangerous). This was no problem for the hosts. If you need more information about the trip to Omalo: We did the trip with a rented Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Ofcourse our rental company (Avis) told us we were not allowed to go here, but in the agreement it was only stated that it was at own risk, so we did. We were blessed with good weather on our departure. A clear blue sky and practically no fog. The road is practically always big enough to allow 1.5 - 2 vehicles to pass. On the moments we passed other vehicles we never ran into any trouble. But please beware, there is literally no safety on the edge of the road. This means that you are driving close to ravines. The road is at some points very technical with a lot of serpentines. If you trust your car and your own driving skills, you can easily make this trip in around 4-5 hours. On our way back we were a bit less lucky... There was severe rain the days before. As a result of that, we had to depart two days later than planned. The Abano pass was blocked for almost the full first day, which meant for us it was too late to drive back (the taxis did depart). And the next day we were told it was very dangerous to return (but, the taxis did), which was a reason for us to delay one additional day.
Cons: Sometimes there is no water pressure or not hot water. But this is typically something you have to get used to when you are high in the mountains.
Pros: A good honest description of a guest house that was spotlessly clean, 2 meals a day with ample amounts to eat. Friendly helpful staff.
Pros: the food was good
Cons: the bed was not comfortable, the lights was very deem and the bathroom was flooded with water coming from somewhere...
Pros: The location was great and the fiod was ok
Cons: They were full when we arrived despite our reservation so they put us in another place for the first night. A lot of reviews tell about meals included in the price. Not for us, so it was highly overpriced.
Pros: position, atmosphere
Pros: Clean rooms and picturesque location. We really enjoyed fresh homemade breakfasts and dinners - the food was excellent. Tea and coffee was available anytime of the day for no extra cost. The terrace was very comfortable for relaxing after the whole day of hiking. We wish we could stay longer! Thank you!
Pros: Price quoted on booking.com includes dinner and breakfast. Copious delicious food and very nice family.
Cons: More wine with dinner welcome
Set in Dart'lo, Guesthouse Nakudurta has a garden, BBQ facilities, terrace, and free WiFi. At the guest house the rooms come with a seating area. Continental and buffet breakfast options are available every morning at Guesthouse Nakudurta. Hiking is among the activities that guests can enjoy near the accommodation.
Pros: Lela is a great host. At her place there was no internet connection (she told us that 2 days after our stay it would be in place), so she didn't know about our arrival. We arrived at 9pm, but nevertheless she prepared a dinner for us 5 including khachapuri, home made cheese, soup, home made wine and chacha (grappa). The day after he prepared a huge breakfast for us including khinkali made by herself on the same morning. She took care of us in any way she could. The beds are very comfortable. The structure itself is very simple, but nothing important is missing. If you plan to arrive by car consider that twice you have to cross a fast flowing and 50-60cm deep river, you need a full-size 4x4. I would always go back: the place is amazing and Lela's hospitality unmatchable.
Pros: Wondrful stuff and owners, very clean, comfortable, homestay atmosphere, amazing dinner for 10gel. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Cons: The price on booking was 5usd per night, but when I wanted to pay in the morning, I was told that it is actually 10usd and that the price on booking.com was wrong. That was unfortunate, but we made some compromise at the end. Also there was no WiFi or it wasn't working at the time I was there
Pros: Very friendly host. The guesthouse is above the oldtown. They speak perfect english and german. Meals were delicious.
Pros: Unbelievable hospitality by the woman who owns the hostel. She will take care of you like she is your own mother. Felt really good thats she honestly wants you to feel welcome and comfortable and willing to help you with anything.
Pros: Great location, very welcoming hosts. Even if they barely spoke any english, we had a lovely stay on our way to Atsunta pass.
Cons: Price is 25 lari per person, not per room. Just pointing this out so people come prepared. There is a small mix-up on the prices on booking.com.
Offering a barbecue and sauna, Guesthouse Javakhe is located in Omalo in the Kakheti Region. The guest house has a terrace and views of the mountain, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Free private parking is available on site. A terrace or balcony are featured in certain rooms. BBQ is provided at a surcharge. There is luggage storage space at the property. You can play table tennis at this guest house, and the area is popular for horse riding.
Pros: Lovely hospitality (no English spoken but we managed), good meals, comfortable night's sleep, good value. GH is in Lower Omalo, not Upper where the towers and most GHs are. Much quieter. I preferred it but you may not (and of course it means walking an extra 20-30 mins when you start trekking..).
Cons: Like most of the places in Tusheti, it's got solar panel heating so no or not much hot water on cloudy days. Eco-friendly is good with me but just to let you know...
Pros: Place is close to trek journey.
Cons: Dinner was over expensive 20GEL/ person related to quality. Meat in dumplings was horrible taste and chewing. Interior of room was DYI by poor workmanship.
Pros: Very nice, helpful staff, great varied food. Very good location, close to the trails. I sincerely recommend it!
Cons: The service practically does not speak English.
Pros: Convenitently located in Lower Omalo, it was a great surprise that the room we were staying in had a private bathroom en suite (we didn’t think it would). We also ordered an extra dinner on our stay. At 20 GEL per person it is actually sort of pricey for Georgian standards but it was so delicious! Maybe the best meal I had during our stay in Georgia, I recommend everyone trying the dinner there too!
Cons: On both days, we didn’t get any hot running water
Pros: Nice place in a good location, good and plenty food. Hosts are nice but not very talkative/interested.
Cons: Dining room was very cold
Pros: Lovely family (kids speak English). Good food. Very good atmosphere. Father Patta can organise day-trips with his car to the small villages and also bring you back to Alvani/Telavi
Pros: Lovely owners, good food and a nice room, everything you need.
Pros: Very friendly people. Don't speak English but try to talk to you in different ways like body language or Google translate. Very clean en comfortabel rooms. Very peaceful.
Cons: Probably a little bit more expensive than the surrounding guesthouses, but I think the comfort was much higher.
Pros: Cosy wooden building (though a bit cold during the nights; second half of September). The breakfast was lovely - e.g. with small pancakes or cake (everybody adored the pancakes). Very friendly hosts (just be aware that the couple running the guesthouse doesn’t speak English).
Pros: Nice guesthouse, friendly people, good food.
Set in Omalo, Old Omalo Guest House features a garden, a bar and a terrace. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Guests at the guest house can enjoy a à la carte breakfast.
Pros: Very simple but totally satisfying accomodation. Clean, tidy, bathroom with hot water, nice view from the window.
Pros: You have a place to sleep and take shower after a long day exploring Tusheti.
Cons: There was only one electric socket, that wasnt even working...
Pros: Very welcoming hosts, and excellent supper and breakfast.
Pros: perhaps, views to the central Tusheti!
Cons: electricity is not charging, there is only one plug in the whole hostel, but the plug does not work in the rooms (even this was last year, no progress, I understand it is Georgia ... :)) cleanliness in the hostel not too much, get ready for combat conditions, non-heated toilets .... breakfast and also dinner did not taste, the whole week was all the same! - 15gel for breakfast and 15gel for the dinner is is a fairly high price for such a poor meal! (as a result, accommodation is more expensive than in Tbilisi)
Pros: The food & friendliness of the family running the guesthouse was outstanding!
Pros: The whole family was Very friendly And the host speaks english. Good shower with hot water. Comfortabel beds. Very good food. If you want to hike to Dartlo we Very recommend the guesthouse of Natela: guesthouse Sakhu!
Pros: Good location, good food, friendly owner and staff
Cons: Internet was very poor. There was a queue for toilet when it was fully booked.
Pros: The hostel has a great view from the balcony.
Cons: During checkout we a not so nice discussion about the prices of the food.
Guesthouse Tushuri Koshki is located in Omalo. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi. At the guest house every room has a private bathroom. Guests at Guesthouse Tushuri Koshki can enjoy a buffet breakfast.
Pros: Authentic location in Tusheti. Stayed for four nights. Large room with four comfortable beds. Located in the middle of upper Omalo. Very good authentic breakfasts and dinners. Very nice hostess unforturnately does not know English.
Pros: Great food, good location in a tower
Cons: If it is cold outside, it is cold inside. After the summer you need warm clothes. But there were enough blankets for the night.
Pros: Great location and friendly staff, they were really helpful with organising day trips and giving advice about activities in the area.
Cons: We felt it was overpriced for what was offered. There was no toilet paper in the room and the bathroom had a very bad smell from the drains which made the bedroom smell. The food, whilst good, was again overpriced for what it was. That said, it did the job but for the price charged we expected a little bit more.
Pros: Delicious home made dinners and supporting guest house crew.
Pros: Spectacular setting and situation. Meals. Staff. Nice experience to sleep in the tower.
Cons: Bathroom in poor condition. The price you pay is for the location not for the facilities. Looks like a mountain hut.
Pros: The hospitality of the family and the location with good wifi
