8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hidden away in the Burgundy hills, well off the beaten path, this little gem, while hard to find, was a treasure. No sooner than we had arrived we were met with warm friendly smiles, refreshing tea and homemade cookies and a personal guide to our two room 'suite'. While it was in fact the only rental room in this private home, it was well appointed, extremely clean and comfortable. The owner was a font of knowledge about the region, providing information about the region - its geography and history. ]] Breakfast was served in the family kitchen and featured home made jams, yogurt and the freshest of baked goods. The owner remained with us providing interesting conversation.
Cons: hard to find

Anyone in for a nice relaxing stay should try and stay here!
7.5 Good
Pros: Proprieter went out of his way to be helpful and gave us a discount voucher for supper at the Court Paille, which was about 4 km away.
Cons: We would have liked a kettle IN THE ROOM. There was quite a draft under the door (we put our cases on the curtain to try to alleviate, somewhat)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice garden with swimming pool. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms where clean. We had two amazing days, perfect base to check out the area (Baune and Chalon).

Pros: warm welcome feeling when we arrived after a very long drive, we've room upgraded and it is very clean and large bed.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a hotel with two faces. The rooms (small) and breakfast (modest) were typical 3-star. But the spa/swimming pool, terrace and garden are excellent. Dinner and wine selection exceeded expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An exceptional find. Comfortable, clean, quiet,a friendly welcome, good value for money; what more could you want? Ah yes, good food at the restaurant. You get that too. A big bonus for us was the spa facilities which were free. They included a sauna, steam room and an indoor swimming pool as an alternative to the outdoor pool if the weather is unkind. The towels, slippers and robes to use the facilities were all free. The hotel is set in a quiet location in the countryside outside the town so there is virtually no traffic. The finishing touch was the excellent breakfast. Our new first choice for stopovers when travelling to the South.
Cons: The meal was a touch on the expensive side but we thought it was worth it. There were several choices to suit different budgets. The wines recommended with the meal were superb and good value by the glass.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness and friendly and helpful hotel staff. The little table outside the room near the swimming pool was delightful. A drink on the pool terrace was enjoyable. Grounds for walking and proximity to other towns/villages. Quality of food was very good.
Cons: The seating in the restaurant. Isolated from the main hall to accommodate 4 tables only. Like sitting in a small restricted area of (nearly) 4 walls. Not at all cosy.

Cons: The welcome was a little stiff. Staff in the restaurant were good but management seemed a bit off hand.

Domaine Pont Juillet - Fontaines - Building
10
9.0 Excellent (248 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Fontaines, Domaine Pont Juillet is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Chateau de Germolles and The Niepce Museum. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property.
Cons: Too far away from shopping and stairs very steep with no lift.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very well maintained and nice looking location, perfectly managed by a very kind and engaged young lady. She speaks 4 languages perfectly, so talking to her should be able to any traveller on this globe. The rooms are brandnew renovated, the interieur looks perfect, great and modern.
Cons: With the above said it causes some pain to me to say this: the domain is located in 50 m distance to a railway track and that is a no go to everyone who is looking for some quiet and relaxing days. We spent an afternoon at the nice pool, but roughly every 5 minutes trains were passing by and caused an incredible loud noise. Also at night there is railway traffic and during the first night we learned the traffic schedule in every detail.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome from owner, beautiful old house, spacious rooms, beautifully restored. Easy access from motorway for an overnight break. convenient for Beaune and the Burgundy vineyards
Cons: Although we realised that access was easy (when we found it!) we initially struggled - mostly due to our incompetent use of sat nav - don't use the zip code!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Domaine Pont Juillet. Our room (the suite) was lovely and large, and decorated well. There was sufficient space for an extra cot for our child, and it still didn’t feel as stuffy or cramped. The property overall is lovely, very beautiful, and well kept. And you can tell, Kristine takes pride in it. The breakfast was great too, with delicious breads, and jams, and fruits and cheeses etc etc. The place isn’t hard to find, it’s remote enough to make you feel you are way out in the country. And close enough to villages that you can drive down and get a bite. Kristine always has great recommendations for meals.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had dinner at Domaine Pont Juillet twice during our stay. I am Coeliac and require gluten free meals. Katarien cooked us delicious four course gluten free meals on both occasions, nothing was a trouble to her. For breakfast she supplied gluten free bread, bread rolls, cakes and biscuits. The beds are very comfortable and we loved the decor and furnishings. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the pool as it was too cold.
Cons: Nothing

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice style of room and very kind and flexible owner. Good breakfast!

The bed was wonderful, the pillows were substantial and comfortable. The soundproofing works perfectly (the hotel is located near the train station so this is a definite plus).

Cons: Rooms were a bit tatty, need a refurb. Very slippery shower tray

Pros: Something really worth mentioning, on the morning of my stay at breakfast there was an elderly couple with disabilities, everything was done to make it easy for these two persons, breakfast was served at their table with a smile and a friendly word. In one word; Chapeau and Respect.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were clean and really nice. All around you can see attention to detail. You have the impression that you've just arrived at a friends house: there is a library in the lobby, candies by the couch table, flowers, a friendly dog that welcomes you and a cat who shows you that you are the guest of her garden. We arrived very tired, but everything told us that we could relax and enjoy our stay. I would also like to note that I could find enough glutenfree things at breakfast, without giving a previous note.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good central location very quirky hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good overall quality. The atmosphere was really nice and very peaceful. The owner was super helpful and welcoming. The place is located close to the station and you can also conveniently walk to all the other places you may want to see. Would definately stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was well located and just different. Quirky
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast very good and plentiful, only an Italian coffee machine would be missing to make a good espresso or capuccino Wifi line so-so If the TV would broadcast international channels and NOT ONLY FRENCH CHANNELS, ones would be the top
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super helpful and accommodating
Cons: Shower curtain too short
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfy quiet room and bath with plenty of hot water
Cons: Breakfast rather expensive as was the fee for overnight parking
7.0 Good
Pros: Central location at walking distance to the city center, yet a very quiet place. It's a small hotel and each room is decorated differently, which gives you a much better atmosphere and experience from the big chains
Cons: A little bit more care with the installations would make it better. For example or shower wouldn't stay up on its stand forcing us to hold them with one hand while showing. Not a big deal, but small details make the difference...
7.5 Good
Pros: Quirky decoration. Very comfortable beds.
Cons: The breakfast was a little disappointing. Fresh fruit was on offer but it was very poor quality so inedible.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast with home baking.
Cons: Difficult booking in before 16:30 as reception closed before this time.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location of the property, rooms where clean and well decorated. Bathroom was spacious & clean.
Cons: The price of a beer at the bar was almost triple the price of the uk!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The confort in de room and a good mattress and pillow
Cons: a little more different things for breakfast like for instance an egg sunny up , bacon , sausages etc
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location for our travel plans, very handy for motorway, petrol station nearby. Relaxed surroundings, modern decor. Enjoyed meal in restaurant in the evening (though no choices - see below) and good breakfast. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Car parking good.
Cons: Pool perhaps a bit close to outdoor dining area. Had booked on half board basis but when we sat down for the evening meal we were told that there were no choices, just one starter (buffet salad bar) and one main course...the waiter was very abrupt in the way he addressed us and when we asked if we could choose from the other menus instead, he said we could do that, but we would still be charged for the options that were included as part of the half board basis!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location between Calais and South of France, close to motorway. Pet friendly. Good restaurant at hotel.
4.3 Okay
Pros: It had window that opened
Cons: The food and decor
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice room, decoreted with bright colours.
Cons: The hotel was difficult to find with the address we were given when we reserved the room. If you write to navigator the postal code and the address of the hotel, you'll find yourself in St Remy (about 20 minutes from the real destination). The area was a bit wild after the sunset. The person in charge at the reception desk did not encourage us to walk to the nearby restaurant (5 minutes).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here on way to the Med & was glad we'd booked here for the return journey. Room was a decent size & felt open & airy. Much publicised French Heatwave outside but air-con coped well so we were comfortable. Friendly greeting at reception on arrival & departure. Restaurant: nice atmosphere & food really well cooked & presented. In the morning the breakfast room was stuffed with a "coach party". The nice lady in charge of breakfasts; who recognised us from a week before; soon cleaned up a table for two for us. Easy access from motorway. Walking distance from a supermarket & eating places but why would you eat elsewhere when the hotel restaurant is so good.
Cons: Very difficult to fault. Just minor comments. Is there anyway to reduce the night time light emission of the digital clock on the TV? We stuck a sticking plaster over ours!!! At our age we would have preferred a walk in shower. Would prefer tea/coffee in room but free facilities were available in the foyer.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location close to the A6 motorway. The hotel has a good restaurant - good food and a good wine list
7.5 Good
Pros: ok for the price just for one night
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was ok
Cons: Location not good . Breakfast disappointing. Lack of knowledge from reception

Pros: Lovely breakfast (croissant, pain au chocolat, baguette, cereals, and much more on offer...). There is a very good boulangerie on the other side of the square too! The room was very quiet (2 doors to enter the room). Friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The perfect family room when travelling with young children. To have a twin room connected to a double with en-suite and all for the price of one room was fantastic. Also, we were able to take our small dog for €5. The location was great, close to the motorway to ensure only a slight detour from our journey to the Alps but also in a quiet residential area. We drove into the historic city centre for supper after a walk in one of the local parks. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and spoke great English. The room was very clean and nicely decorated.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Well located, clean, quiet, nice folks.
Cons: Stairs only...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect place for a stop over. Very nice owner, very clean. Amazing value for money.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Great location and a nice award winning bakery close by, nothing too wrong for putting your head down one night but better value out there
Cons: Too expensive for what it is, now that you can stay at newer better hotels for quite a bit less
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice breakfast, fresh croissants, fruit etc Clean comfortable bed.
Cons: Facilities - bedside table lamp didn't work, had to ask them to change noisy fan, shower extra small, no lift.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This family-run hotel provided a pleasant stop over on our way south. We asked for a quiet room and the hotel fulfilled our expectations. Staff were nice and helpful. We slept well and enjoyed a good continental breakfast in the morning. Just a 15-minute walk into Chalon. Overall, we feel we received good value for money and recommend this establishment to others.
Cons: Room a little small for three people and no air conditioning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly and helpful staff. room is clean
