10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great two night stay at Avelow. Melanie was very welcoming. She gave us good tips on where to go for dinner/music etc. We were upstairs at the front of the house. The room was very clean, not huge, but certainly adequate. Bathroom small, but very clean, good shower, nice towels. Beds were comfy. We did have a little street noise, but we also had the window open. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Cooked breakfast or cereal/yogurt/fresh fruit/bread & butter. I don't eat eggs, so Melanie made me delicious Irish pancakes instead. She gave us great tips and maps on where to go for the day and for how to get to Doolin when we left. We got to meet her charming dad Pat, and her two cute children as well. Would recommend.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is that the soap dispenser in the bathroom was a little wonky. Such a minor thing and not a deal breaker!

Pros: The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The room was fine, just nothing special. It was an easy walk into town. The continental breakfast selections were quite good but we felt the cooked breakfast offerings were not particularly well presented.
Cons: The lodge was situated right on the main road so could be a little busy/noisy at peak times although this location did make for easy access into town. We felt the place lacked atmosphere and felt more like a hotel than a lodge. Pillows were too soft. We felt it was rather pricey.

Pros: Learned about this property from a friend who stayed there last year for a family wedding. This place is a gem just outside Killarney. When I say just outside, it’s literally 1 mile from the city center. So depending on your energy you can def wall back after dinner and the walk is great. Property is gorgeous with clean and quiet rooms and the view isn’t too bad. The restaurant on property is very good and the cellar bar is great especially the staff. They work their tale off making sure everyone is served and not waiting around.
Cons: That most of the property doesn’t have air conditioning. Being from Florida we are used to AC. Open windows are fine but we like the constant airflow from AC.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our time at The Cahernane House Hotel was all too brief. It would have been nice to have had a longer time to savor the elegance of this lovely hotel, to walk the peaceful grounds, sit on the garden patio, stroll into Killarney and back, lounge in the quaint Cellar Bar in the evening. Additionally, our room was spacious, the bed cozy and comfy, and all was spotless. The continental breakfast was plenty and served under sparkling crystal chandeliers. We had the option of ordering a hot meal if that suited. The staff was gracious and helpful. The entire experience was just what we had hoped for!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife, 7 month old daughter and I recently stayed at the Killarney Park for a weekend and we had an amazing time. My parents were also booked into the hotel so it was a great location for a family gathering. The service from the staff across all areas was excellent - Norma, in particular, helped my wife out on numerous occasions especially with any questions related to accommodating our daughter. We used the pool on both days and it was quiet and relaxed on both occasions. We had dinner in the bar on both nights and the food was lovely. Likewise, the breakfast was really nice with a great buffet selection and a large number of made to order options available as well. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it. Hopefully, we'll be back soon.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Booked our one night stay about 6 months earlier through the internet after an extensive search of the area. We were not disappointed. While we booked a simple double room for the night we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite. The location offered excellent access to all Killarney attractions as well as the downtown area. Unable to comment on the food since we never ate here but prices on the menu looked rather steep. Our travels brought us throughout Ireland only staying in hotels for one night at a time but our stay at the Victoria House Hotel was regarded as one of the more pleasurable. Would highly recommend it to others.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommend staying at the Killeen House Hotel - great location, fabulously run by true hospitality professionals (hi Steve!) who want you to have the best possible experience here. Excellent dinner at Rozzers one night, luxurious breakfast every morning, and elegant pub dinners available too! Close to Gap of Dunloe for hiking, Ring of Kerry and Dingle, but away from tourist congestion. Elegant, sophisticated, warm & welcoming, and friendly staff really made us feel at home. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, great bathroom. Outstanding.
Cons: We had a magnificent experience at this hotel. One comment: the pictures on the website don't do it justice.

Cons: Nothing negative to say. Didn't like leaving. Location is little away from Killarney itself if you wanted to go in late at night to have a meal or a drink, but I'm sure a taxi could have been organised.

Cons: We went down a little late for breakfast - eggs were lovely but the rest I would say was not cooked fresh. It was acceptable but could have been a weensy bit fresher.

Pros: Excellent accommodations. Superb breakfast - get the crepes and add bacon.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was very good.
Cons: Expected it to have a bar and serve dinner as called a hotel. Disappointing with lack of those facilities for the price we paid. Would consider its description should be a very good B&B rather than hotel.

Pros: Great place to stay, big comfort room, great breakfast and staff very friendly and professional
Cons: a bit far from the city (1km)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived at the hotel we were very impressed with the size of the room which featured a gorgeous 4 poster bed with rose petals scattered on the sheets (lovely touch!) and a bathroom with 2 sinks, a jacuzzi bath and a shower cubicle. There was a travel cot set up and ready for us, as requested. The staff at the hotel were amazing, nothing too much trouble and always a friendly attitude. The breakfast was great, a different special every day alongside a usual breakfast spread and a cooked breakfast menu. The view from our room of the mountains was fantastic. The hotel is a short walk from Killarney town and so it was very easy to find everything we needed without much effort. Our room was always made spotlessly clean when we returned from days out and the room cleaner was very friendly. We would definitely return to this hotel.
Cons: There was nothing at all to complain about but to write something there are no real entertainment facilities ie a bar, there is a lounge room where you can get drinks but no real place to have dinner, drinks, music etc like in some of the larger hotels.

Pros: Hotel was very comfortable and exceptionally well run. Hands on approach by management and all staff could not have been more helpful. Food was fantastic and delivered efficiently. Breakfast -a perfect selection of food for all tastes and beautifully presented.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing and so was the room.
Cons: The spa wasn't great
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location and quality of food in the Falls Restaurant
Cons: 1. Check in was a shambles. One receptionist started processing us, then suddenly got up and left with no apology or explanation; we had to start the whole process some minutes later from scratch with a different receptionist. 2. We had responded before our stay to an e mail from the hotel asking us if we required restaurant reservations at the hotel; we responded, using the link provided, requesting reservations. These were not made and the restaurant staff were rude and condescending over the absence of the bookings. 3. Servicing of the room needed to be requested late in the afternoon on returning from an excursion to find the room had not been attended to despite us having been out for several hours 4. Check out was a disaster. Having advised the front desk on the evening before that we would be checking out early the next morning - 7.15- ( and offering to settle our account that evening), we were told that there was no need to do so since the front desk would be staffed at that time. As it happens, the front desk was deserted at 7.15. After waiting 10 minutes, I used the telephone on the front desk to call Housekeeping - a lady there, in fairness, said she would try to locate someone for us. It took a further 10 minutes for someone to appear. Unfortunately this individual was unable to operate the credit card machine or to provide any form of receipt from the machine. I have no idea how much ( if anything) has actually been charged to my card - although I was asked to sign a blank credit card payment slip ( which I declined to do since it would have constituted writing a blank cheque). All in all a very disappointing stay at Sheen Falls. I do not blame the staff. All of the failings were symptomatic of poor leadership and management at the hotel.

Pros: The location was perfect. Walking distance into the town. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean.
