Beautiful, peaceful location but with easy access to major routes. Family run hotel with friendly helpful staff. Excellent room and bathroom. Rather expensive overall and no obvious reception - perhaps because they are still renovating after a fire. We were not affected by the renovations.
Excellent food in the restaurant with the hotel in a quiet and peaceful location - exactly what we wanted ! We were fortunate to be ungraded to a suite which was delightful. We would recommend La Cardinale without hesitation.
Excellent setting, huge pool, beautiful big rooms, free internet, great breakfast
The location is charming, in a rural setting. The room and bathroom were excellent in any respect. Comfort parking. Breakfast was basic and overcharged.
Nice rooms, beautiful garden en view on the area, good restaurant.
Quiet, beautiful gardens, private sitting area no hospitality tray provided
Lovely comfortable room. Lush bathroom. Absolutely fabulous food. Great attentive service with a smile.
High-class countryside hotel/farmhouse with all facilities. Very friendly staff. Excellent dinner and good breakfast. Quiet location.
Beautiful grounds , a natural setting with space ,a very very comfortable bedroom with a rare feel of privacy not found in many hotels, very well maintained the air con is a great plus. Swimming pool is big enough to have a really good swim with a fantastic view . We had a very good meal fresh excellent produce every meal not over played with ,the service was just perfect with a charming smile the photos do not do it justice
The room was magnificent
Excellent food. Quiet and silent. Excellent view from the Chateau and Poolside - ideal for romantic get-a-way trip. We found the trip down to the Rhone river and other areas somewhat long - 40-45 min.
The location is stunning, a wonderful place to relax and/or honeymoon.
Stunning position and beautiful building. Relaxed family atmosphere. A wonderful 3 days.
Stunning location and delightful chateau with period fittings and fixtures and pictures and teacups and friendly staff and art exhibition. The booking.com directions were wrong in the final details. When you get to Place Rampon and Rue Jules Ferry, you have to take the road to Vernoux (there is a sign here to Urbilhac) and about 1km outside Lamastre you turn left into the private drive for Chateau d'Urbilhac.
Very nice chambre-d'hôtes, owners are very nice people, excellent environment to rest, great pool, fantastic view. If you like to be a few days away from stress this is the perfect location. I would surely recommend this place for 1 or 2 nights but for lunch/dinner I would go "downtown". Food and drinks are way too expensive, you cannot eat à la carte, only menu of the day at 38 euro/person, 1 bottle of wine 28 euro while France is the wine country???. Breakfast is very basic, only marmalade, no cheese, eggs,... so in general the name "hotel" is not correct, it's a high class chambre-d'hôtes.
The setting of the hotel was incredible. An amazing 'little' park to walk around in, great tennis courts, a beautiful pool, an incredible view over the rolling hills in the valley. This place is magic. In fact we were put up to the next class of room, which had very recently been renovated beautifully. I would have been happy to stay and relax in the room to soak up the castle atmosphere, but including the spa bath in the bathroom, there were too many things to do outside. Perfect for a romantic weekend stay. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. You could hear people walking and talking above and around you from our room. The food and wine list which were excellent, but just a little expensive. But the very good price of the accommodation (for the incredible services and quality) makes up for this expense.
The Chateau is located in the beautiful Ardeche region. It's quite an adventure to reach it but it's certainly worth it. Claude and Sylvie, the owners, are wonderful hosts and try to make you feel at home. My husband needed to go to a doctor and they even offered to go with us. Although English isn't spoken we still had no problem communicating. Sylvie cooks in the evening with lots of produce from her own garden and the food and setting was wonderful.
This hotel is fantastic - beautiful location, amazing rooms and fantastic food and service. We would definitely recommend.
Friendly atmosphere, excellent service, parking.Paintings in the wall and antic furniture.Good breakfast .Large swiming pool. Nothing, just no lift.
Un week-end de 3 jours absolument génial de l'accueil de Leila aux repas partagés entre tous les hôtes. On a qu'une envie, y rester et surtout y retourner......Leila, I was really happy to meet you, you are so "fabulous" !!!!!!!
We did not dislike anything
The gentleman behind the desk was extremely helpful when we arrived at the hotel with a personal problem. We cannot praise him enough for the help he gave us - it also then made our stay enjoyable
The Hotel is a beautiful old grand hotel in a spa town. Unfortunately it is well past it's heyday and is now full of bus loads of people on package tours. It has a good pool facility although there were so many families with small children it was rather difficult to enjoy it. The rooms are very overpriced even at a special rate.
Very friendly staff - meals good quality for price - free wi fi Towels need replacing - wi fi not available in room
Good sized rooms, good decor of rooms. Nicely furnished public areas. I stayed in August. The room was very hot as no air con or fan.
The location is amazing. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and it was an ideal stop off point on our way from the south to the north of France. To get any service you had to go and find someone. There didn't seem to be enough staff and the reception staff were always busy in the back office.
location, helpfulness of staff.
A lovely location and olde world style hotel. Food Very Good Rooms a little small. Staff had very poor English
