Pros: Absolutely stunning. I would visit again in a heartbeat.
Pros: This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! Amazing location, heavenly property, great host!
Pros: Amazingly beautiful setting and historical stone buildings- absolutely loved this bed and breakfast. The host, Carlos was so personable and helpful. And has great port! We had dinner there which was delicious as was the breakfast! 5 ⭐️
Cons: We did not stay long enough!!
Pros: Carlos was very accommodating making us food and giving us good recommendations for places to.visit. we really enjoyed our short stay. Thankyou from Hilary and Shaun.
Pros: Charming place with a great story, lovely pool and relaxing garden areas, friendly host and partner, perfect stop off
Cons: Dinner was served much later than we had been told, we were the only ones eating and it was expensive and appeared to be a set meal but everything was priced individually and probably my fault that I didn't ask for the price in advance ..the goat stew was delicious. Shower unit was shabby and needed replacing.
Pros: Amazing location and atmosphere in the middle of Nature with great service, I couldn't wish for more. Perfect service provided by the staff and specially by Mr. Carlos (the owner). From the beautiful river to the amazing home cooked dinner, not forgetting the pool with a great surroundings.
Cons: Noting, it was a great experience.
Pros: Lovely, rustic & peaceful. We were so grateful to our host for taking us with him to the neighboring town’s folk music & dance festival. And for an absolutely delicious dinner that we would 100% recommend - all made from produce from the garden & neighbors’ farms.
Pros: the place is situated in a beautiful spot, and was carefully planned and decorated. the room was very comfortable, catered for all our needs. excellent quality and large choice in the breakfast. dinner was also perfect!
Pros: It was very nice place and Carlos was amazing
Pros: Lovely host with lovely animals
Pros: The place is just perfect and Maria is an incredible host! When I arrived, she gave me an upgrade for free. The room was very beautiful, clean, comfortable and the balcony was big. The view was amazing, you can see the village and the mountains around you, while having a glass of the different wines on offer in the evening sun. There is also a garden with sun chairs and a terrace to enjoy your meal outside. Maria is a very welcoming person, who gives a lot of helpful advices for places to visit. Since I was traveling alone, she even gave me her phone number, just in case if I get lost or having any problems while being alone in the mountains. Especially when you are a young woman, or traveling alone in general, this place is perfect. But it is also perfect for couples or friends to go there! The bathroom was equipped with a hairdryer and products are free to use. Not to mention the great breakfast in the morning! Maria prepared a buffet with a huge variety: different types of bread and self made cake, vegan options for milk, different types of cereals and so on... It was delicious and a perfect start into the day. This is just the perfect place to stop while traveling through the country. Thank you so much Maria for this experience!
Cons: There is nothing, that I didn't like
Pros: The hostess is just phenomenal. Charming, funny and very knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast was amazing and the surroundings of the house give you peace and comfort. Extra cookie points for the swing above the house that will give you amazing views and a rush.
Cons: I have, literally, nothing bad to say. We knew the room didn't have a private bathroom, but trust me it will feel like one. D.Maria da Graça will make you feel at home right away.
Pros: Maria was a wonderful hostess. She prepared our evening meals and they were quite good. She was very considerate and cooked according to what my Kidney problem needed. Very thoughtful. much
Cons: The only thing we didn't like was the 20euro per night for our two small dogs. Since she had no responsibility for the dogs and didn't have to feed them it added 60 euros to our bill for 3 nights. Just too much. I wouldn't have minded paying 10 euros per night, but she said no. When we travel with our well trained small dogs we have never been charged, and some of the places are nicer for the dogs. This would be the only reason we would not stay there again. We still enjoyed our stay.
Pros: The host was very helpful
Pros: Maria was a lovely host, it really felt like home. We would love to come back someday and stay a bit longer.
Pros: We loved the peace and quiet at Magnolia Cottage ... a calm oasis after our long journey. We were greeted with cool drinks which we enjoyed in a shady spot of the garden. Our host couldn't have been kinder and she had thought of all our needs for our stay. We enjoyed our cosy bedroom and the balcony with a view of the hills. Breakfast was wonderful with amongst others things, home made jam and cakes and fantastic coffee. We ate it out on the spacious terrace whist enjoying the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside. A little gem of a place. To be warmly recommended. Sue and Rudi, Germany
Pros: The place it was very clean, beautiful property, awesome pool and garden views, very pleasant staff!!!
Pros: The family host was friendly. The property garden was well maintained. We rented the family unit (small and cute house by the pool). We were pleased to get complimentary shower gel, shampoo and shower cap.
Cons: We did not receive the directions to get there nor any GPS coordinates. We found it by luck. There was an issue with the Internet connexion once we were settled in the rental. The swimming pool was not heated. The hosts barely spoke English or French. There was no toaster in the unit.
Pros: Very friendly lady, great location, amazing breakfast, a bit off but everything easily accessible with the car, great hiking around
Pros: Pool Silence
Cons: Internet was not working Weak TV signal Mattress mold smell
Pros: Excellent facilities pool lovely quiet location and friendly helpful owners
Pros: Cleanliness. Gardens are beautiful. Great breakfast. Excellent service. Lovely Host!
Pros: Our host was very friendly and helpful, and although it was not easy to communicate (we don't speak Portugese, she doesn't speak English) we didn't miss a thing! The breakfast was exceptionally good, and we were offered a variety of fresh bread rolls and croissants, marmelades, chocolate spread, cheese and cold cuts, scrambled eggs, fruits and even homemade cake. The room was cozy and heated, which was important as it was freezing outside during our stay. The bathroom (private, but across the hall) is spacious and has a bathtub.
Cons: The bathroom was very cold, so be prepared if you visit in winter.
With a stay at Hotel Parque Serra da Lousã in Miranda do Corvo, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Biological Park of Serra da Lousa and Castle of Lousa. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and meeting rooms. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle during limited hours and a train station pick-up service.
Pros: Great hotel. We had a room on second floor , so had a nice view at the morning. Quite and clean room. Has Indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
Cons: The crib we asked for was very - very small( if your child more than 1 y.o. she wouldn’t fit it)
Pros: Swimming pool and sauna were amazing, great staff especially the lady on reception. Rooms are large and comfortable
Cons: It’s a bit far from other attractions, you would need a car to do anything outside of the hotel, room service would be something I would pay extra for and a restaurant downstairs that serves food, the food in the restaurant associated with the hotel is awful.
Pros: It’s nice to wake up with a view to trees in the nature park and hear the birds tweeting, and the Tesla destination charger was handy (though odd they didn’t have two chargers as normally is the case, and the sign even said 2 spots when there is just a single charger)
Cons: Breakfast could be improved. Serving orange squash instead of fresh orange juice in Portugal should be a crime. Also the yogurts were cheap and unhealthy. If it’s an eco friendly hotel you should have locally sourced orange juice from real oranges and make your own yogurt from local milk, or buy nice local yogurt. The restaurant I found disappointing also. Chanfana and soup were fine but regular dishes like steak and bacalhau were poor.
Pros: Everything else :)
Cons: The indoor pool area doesn't have space for people... A few pool chairs and very little, to no space, for people to sit back and relax.
Cons: Nothing to make coffee in - needs a press!
Pros: The owners, the location and the house. The owners will gladly help you to enhance your experience. 5 stars to them.
Cons: The house has wifi and the owner really made an effort to provide internet to the guests, but the location makes it impossible
Pros: Great location in old wonderful village.
Cons: Check which of room you are booking. The room we stayed in is underground and there are no proper windows.
Pros: The place, the house was great!
Cons: The access to the house from the parking lot.
Pros: Talasnal is a wonderful place to visit. Casa Pricsa Peralta is one of the few houses that has car access. The house is equipped with modern appliances although on the outside the house looks like a traditional schist house. The host Paulo, is very friendly and will try to help you feel like home.
Cons: The car access is a bit steep. You need to be a good driver to make it
Pros: We found the property to be just what had been expected and more. Very clean, well appointed and tucked away in a magical area. The shists villages are amazingly beautiful and the simpleness of the surroundings very refreshing. Our accommodations provided us modern amenities but with the twist of being back in time. A wonderful experience

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Lousa? This hotel has facilities measuring 3229 square feet (300 square meters), including conference space. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Walked up the road to the castle - unbeatable experience even in the rain! Best breakfast of the 5 hotels we stayed at in a Portugal.
Cons: New wing is out of date and a bit shabby. There was mold on the wall in our room.
Pros: This is a lovely old palace with beautiful sitting rooms, a beautiful dining room and free parking.
Cons: Some areas were showing wear and tear and could use some refurbishing.
Pros: Great room and excellent service
Pros: The panorama from the room
Cons: We arrived to the hotel late (about 20:00) , we asked for something to eat ,because the kitchen was almost closed ,we got two cups of soup and limited select of cheese (we don’t eat ham) ,and paid for it a lot of money. The bed was with thin mattress ,in the bathroom there were not hangers for the clothes .
Pros: Our room had a beautiful view and an even more lovely Gargoyle
Pros: Excellent breakfast spread. Restaurant facilities were equally good with food of a high standard and good value for money. The facilities are kept in very good order internally, cleanliness is great with good attention to detail.
Cons: The whole building is suffering from a lack of external maintenance. It has been very carefully maintained internally but the exterior requires urgent attention in our view. Its a shame to think that such a jewel of a building so well managed from the front desk to all aspects internally can be left to decay. Hope they are holding back for an out of season refurbishment.
Set in Castanheira de Pêra, 35 km from Lousã, Quinta do Castanheiro offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi. A terrace with garden views is offered in each unit. The bed and breakfast offers a continental or buffet breakfast. Quinta do Castanheiro offers a children's playground. There is a shared lounge at this property and guests can go hiking nearby.
Cons: So friendly and helpful. Mari takes great pride in his property and is a fantastic host.
Pros: Calm and quiet, clean and quite welcoming. Nice view and nice pool
Cons: The windows only had dark cortains, which would eventually let the sun inside in the morning.
Pros: Good - loved the impromptu scarmbled eggs --- thanks Mari
Cons: Nothing really. Could use some good Columbian coffee. But very minor in the larger scheme of things.
Pros: The hosts were extremely nice, the place is amazing, clean, comfortable and quiet. You have everything in there you need (barbecue, pool, nature, etc.) but you also have the center of the city nearby and other attractions (like the pools in Roca) in case you want to explore.

Pros: It was a fancy and cozy apartment. Margarida as well is a very nice and kind person.
Pros: The location was wonderful, close to everything. Very clean with all the amenities you need. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone, from one person to a family of 6. Two apartments are available. The family suite is recommended. if it’s just 2 people the smaller room is perfect. Margarita is an amazing host!
Pros: Margaret is a wonderful kind and helpful lady. If you take the rooms separately you'll have share the bathroom which is fine.. At least it was not an issue for us. Great location in town close to cafes and resistants.
Cons: Room was a little cold sometimes even with heater on.... Nothing unbearable though.
Pros: Hiking through the Serra de Lousa for 2 days, zI used Patio do Xisto as an overnight stop and have never stayed in such a beautiful bed at breakfast. The room was comfy, specious and well equipped and the whole place felt calm. Fatima was an excellent host who took great care of me and I really appreciated her effort with the language barrier. She really cares about the place and tranquility and I wish I had tried her esteemed cooking. There's no wi-fi and phone signal, which for me was a blessing, though it can be gained a short stroll out of the village. Although small, the infinity style swimming pool is stunning and perfect to relax in after a long day hike. The lack of internet may not suit all, but I had a wonderful stay here.
Cons: Only possible wish is for a kettle in the shared kitchen. Aside from this minor thing, there's nothing to complain about.
Pros: Facilities were very clean, the breakfast was very good and the room has a nice size.
When you stay at HI Lousã - Pousada de Juventude in Lousa, you'll be in the mountains, within a 5-minute drive of Castle of Lousa and Senhora da Piedade River Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very spacious and bright! The staff was all nice. And the breakfast was good.
Cons: The kitchen utilities were lacking. I have a feeling the kitchen was equipped well once a while ago and slowly things started to go missing. The blankets were not washed, only the thin covers seemed to be washed.
Pros: Clean, large room with my own bathroom. Very quiet. Friendly people at the desk. A very good breakfast in the morning. Large kitchen to cook your own meal.
Cons: Nothing really
Pros: Spacious and very luminous rooms (I got a private) with large windows and no buildings in front. Good location, one minute away from the town centre. Comfortable beds. One receptionist was very nice and could give great advice for places to visit, eat or grab a beer. Plus, the town is small but fairly nice.
Cons: Taking a shower is a torture; very inconvenient. Besides, "hot" water was tepid at most. Local youngsters sit at a park in front, with their portable super-loud baffles, and play their disturbing and annoying music. One of the receptionists was dismissive, I'd say even disrespectful, about my complaint regarding this noise.
Pros: very clean, fresh white linens, bright room, friendly staff
Cons: terrible shower - you need to press a button and water will flow from the hole on the wall for exactly 15 seconds. The water is splashing, everything around is wet. Cold water flows from the tap above the sink - there was no hot water. And also flows exactly 15 seconds. This spoiled all the impressions of the rest:((( very poor breakfast!
Cons: The way the water tap from the bathroom works.
Pros: Great location. Clean, modern and good room great staff.
Cons: Communal kitchen had limited equipment no oven.
Located in Lousa, Casa da Eira - Turismo Rural is on a river, within a 15-minute drive of Serpin River Beach Park and Castle of Lousa. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area.
Pros: The furniture in the room was very solid. The outside patio area was beautiful. The host's son was very pleasant and made up for the host's lack of warmth.
Cons: We were not expected by the host, I don't know why. She didn't offer the twin bedded room which we had booked. I told her I wasn't very mobile but she sent us to the top floor without an elevator. She asked us for cash up front as she wouldn't be there in the morning, although she was there. The breakfast was left on a table outside bedrooms on a lower level than our room and there was no-one there to greet us or help. You just had to make drinks yourself and look in the fridge for what you might need. The bed was very hard and we had trouble sleeping, I was glad to leave.
Pros: Great place to visit and do some sporting! Very lovely people; very comfortable and relaxing! Great honey too!
Pros: Country quiet village and good hosts. Old world church click chimes and cock crowing to start the day. Enjoyed having the kitchen facilities almost to ourselves ☺
Cons: No mosquito nets over windows and doorways
Pros: Beautiful courtyard with swallows nesting. Big balcony with a lovely view and lots of birds, loved this. Nice, tastefully done, very quaint.
Cons: Unfortunately, the breakfast let this place down. Self serve, which isn't the problem, but with nobody to be seen. Not so fresh rolls, jam sachets and butter, Triangle processed cheese spread, a packet of processed cheese slices in the fridge. Instant coffee sachets. No fresh milk - UHT. Cheap cereal, just one kind. A bottled juice. Only tap water. I was woken up at midnight and 7am by clattering plates, assumably the owners setting out breakfast tables, very inconsiderate. I also had two yellow stains to the duvet, which didn't have a cover on it. To top it off, they don't take any card, which they do not state on booking.com, 6km to the cash point, Goid job I had car, but this really messed the timings of my day up. Left feeling very frustrated. English isn't great at all, but very friendly.
Pros: Hosts were very friendly and easy going, made us feel welcomed and at ease. The place is extremely quiet and the river beach beautiful.
Cons: It was all excellent!
Pros: Great location, beautifull place, view.
Cons: all was fine
With a stay at Quinta do Viso in Miranda do Corvo, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Biological Park of Serra da Lousa and Castle of Lousa. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location, size and facilities.
Cons: Only gripe was lack of fridge in room but compensated to a degree with machine drinks in the general area
Pros: Very spacious rooms and nice view. Nice Swimming pool
Cons: we asked for 2 bedrooms close to each other as we were travelling as a family and did not get it. We could hear quite well our neighbours...but outside was very quiet!
Pros: All very good
Cons: Everything was fine.
Pros: For me, location is everything as I go to see my family who live locally. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, making sure the Jaquzzi was working for me, etc.
Cons: The breakfast is a typical Portuguese breakfast, but I would have welcomed more fresh fruit in season as part of the selection, which was just apples and oranges.
Cons: wifi not good on upper floors
Pros: The staff was super friendly and even invited us for 20th anniversary celebration that was taking place and gave us a small souvenir when we checked out. The room and bathroom were extremely clean.
Cons: Breakfast could have better options.
Pros: The hotel with service in a village
Cons: Todat is 21st century. This hotel do not have a refrigirator in the room. Just 1 to whole hotel at the reception. The hotel service is good. But why do not organise food delivery from other restaruant delivery?!
Pros: The room was basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and we were able to get our water bottles filled for the day. We hadn't realised there was no restaurant so after a long day travelling, having to locate and drive to eat was not what we were expecting.
Cons: Having a balcony overlooking the bins is not good. Looking further afield was okay.
Cons: No restaurant. Lovely staff.
