3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing much about the property to be honest. It was the most expensive hotel I booked during my trip yet the worst hotel I stayed at.
Cons: Firstly, the staffs responsible for our check-in was so rude and impatient. Just because we weren’t native doesn’t mean you should be so cold and impatient to our queries. (Probably because they thought we may be carriers of COVID) Second, the hotel room was so run down with cracked and dirty walls plus chipped paints. The bed and chairs looked so uninviting as well. If it wasn’t for the reduced prices of the room due to COVID-19, I’d say the room was not worth at all. Lastly, the parking per night was expensive and the carpark lots were so small and difficult to park in. Overall, we had a negative experience with this hotel mostly due to the staffs terrible attitude.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The concierge desk guy was very helpful
Cons: The hotel seems kinda old
7.5 Good
Pros: Great views from the room, room and bathroom both pretty decent size, free shuttle to the station was handy
Cons: The hotel is in a building which also has offices and a convention centre so it can be a bit confusing to find the front desk. Rooms are way too hot even with air con on the lowest setting, no free water or coffee in the room kinda sucks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thanks a lot for giving us a wonderful perfect sea/port view room. I would book this hotel once I visit Niigata again.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: No coffee, no free bottle water
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view from our room, helpful staff, comfortable bed and spacious room. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This is hotel is located in a huge modern tower. The rooms are new and clean - not huge, but comfortable. It's definitely designed with the business traveler in mind (Niigata is not much of a tourist destination). It's a good deal for the price. There is parking for a small fee and the front desk staff speaks English. We were able to check in late no problem.
Cons: The beds were a little hard, but nothing unusual for a hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very close to Bandai City and a 10-15 minute walk from the main Niigata train station. It has its own parking lot across the street, and there are plenty of restaurants near by. The bed was very comfy.
Cons: When I paid for parking it was quite expensive, (about $42) but I think there is a way for parking to be cheaper for guests, but I believe most of that info was in Japanese.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff. I arrived early around noon and merely wish to place my luggage but was told that the room was ready for move in. The room has a beautiful scene of the river and pier.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well location very close to the main shopping and dining area (Bandai) just a few mins walk. Staff very polite and helpful and able to communicate in good English. Room clean and facilities are good. Around 15 mins walk from central station the other popular area.
Cons: Just as many comments before too warm inside the room as the air conditioning has already been changed to heater with no choice to adjust the temperature. A typical problem in many Japanese hotels.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good. Staff were nice.
Cons: The room was dirty, the bathroom was also dirty. The hotel needs a real upgrade. The carpet was stained and the room was really hot, we couldnt change the air conditioning and the heavy blanket was too thick and we had to remove the doona cover and just sleep with that. They really need a thin blanket stored in the wardrobe for those people who find the room far too hot and stuffy.

6.7 Good
Pros: The location is quite good, we went to the Niigata Station by taxi always but prefer to get back to hotel by walking which only took us around 15 minutes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service excellent
Cons: Room smaller than expected. Our room is with three beds. They use Bedspread as comforter rather strange and uncomfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff and service with a passion for hospitality
Cons: Very hot rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Despite being an old hotel, it's lovingly maintained and you could sense the old opulence it once held. Staff are well conversed in English and very helpful and friendly. The room I had had a beautiful view of the river. If I were to do over, I'd choose to stay here again.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy room with private shower and toilet! Simple breakfast was included which was nice, and the staff are very friendly and helped us call a taxi to the airport last minute, would stay here again !!
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff are friendly
Cons: N/A
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was good, food places nearby and rooms were comfortable and clean albeit a little small
Cons: Check in staff spoke only Japanese. Had issues communicating which was expected. But what was disturbing was that 80% of what he said was just “No”, which was frustrating. However, on another day, met another front desk staff, Ms Matsumura, who was simply a gem. She communicated well and went out of her way to help us with finding a doctor for my daughter who was ill. A relief after the string of “no”.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, with ionizer/humidifier. Good breakfast.
Cons: All good.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The men’s onsen was very nice with steam room, indoor onsen, outdoor onsen, and cold bath. The room was larger with an additional sink outside of the bathroom.
Cons: No air conditioning in the room (may just be since it was winter).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel, especially for the price!!! Everything new, clean and pretty. All little details you could wish for: toiletries, slippers, tea, microwave, excellent WiFi, even pajamas... And wonderful, wonderful onsen! This hotel was such a good surprise :)
Cons: Only downside could be that the room was a bit small
5.0 Okay
Pros: The baths were very nice, except the women's bath was on the second floor and did not have a rotenburo. My husband told me that the men's bathroom on the 10th floor did have a rotenburo and was very nice. The room decor was wooden and looked comforting and cozy. There was a convenient electric socket in the bedhead. There was a fridge too, but it was down the hall under the sink. There were multi-lingual signs up all over the hotel. As a person who doesn't read a lot of Japanese, it was convenient and helpful. The staff I dealt with spoke English fairly well. In the room, there was a sink outside the bathroom which was quite convenient to use when someone was using the toilet or the bath.
Cons: The room was small. We reserved a double room but it was smaller than I expected. The heating was also on overdrive. It was a cold night, but the room was much too hot. Even turning the heater down didn't work, we had to turn it off or we wouldn't have been able to sleep. We had the free noodles that were offered in the evening. My husband is a ramen snob and didn't like them, I thought they were okay, but maybe a tad too cold. The breakfast was okay. My husband enjoyed the Japanese dishes, but I wasn't too impressed by the more western offerings. It did seem to be refilled often, so that was good. The hotel was quite expensive for the size of the room. It was quite far from convenience stores and the station. There were restaurants in the area, but not for a few blocks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Onsen was incredible, great location, great facilities.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Free car park and nice onsen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bath is open over night until 9 am, which is fairly rare, but extremely convenient for late night people!
Cons: The windows in the rooms don’t open. That, however, is relatively common in Japan.

Pros: Customer Service was excellent. Although the room was small,it had all the amenities I desired. Very clean and I was very comfortable and slept well. Thank you for your attention to detail!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The price was good and the location wasn’t terrible
Cons: The room was dusty and very cramped for 2 people. The bed was very old And uncomfortable.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is good, and like all Japanese staffed Hotels the front desk service was friendly. The windows are openable.
Cons: But the room was beyond unclean, it was grimy. There were hairs on the bathroom floor. I drew a frowny face in the dust on the foldaway desk table. There were obvious fingerprints on flat surfaces. The narrow back alley view was not inspiring. And the bed was slightly too short, in a tightly fitted space that precluded dangling toes over the end of the bed. Yep, I caught the flu here.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet hotel with friendly staff and decent sized rooms.
Cons: The only two things were the bed was really really hard and like with many places they will not allow tattooed people to use the public bathhouse, understand it’s common in Japan if a little disappointing. This meant my husband was not allowed to enter the bathroom area to access the washing machine, luckily my tattoos are coverable with clothes so I could get the washing done.
5.0 Okay
Pros: No else thing like
Cons: Room very and no space to walk

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was convenient and the hotel itself was very well-kept. The room itself was clean and I was happy to receive fresh towels every day.

7.9 Good
Pros: Good location , next to train station & infront of bus terminal . Good breakfast spread.
Cons: Room size is small as typical in most city hotels in Japan.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is so convenient. It is directly opposite the train station and one of the bus stations in Niigata. There are many restaurants and cafes in the area. I had a twin room for single use. The room was quite spacious. The window looked out on the station and the road in front of the hotel. There was a fridge and two bottles of water for free in the room. I had a room at the end of a hall and it was very quiet. I never heard other guests at all. I also appreciated the free movies in the room and watched quite a few during my stay. The staff was friendly with quite good English. I had no problems checking into the hotel and was even given a coin for a welcome drink.
Cons: The room was generally comfortable, but I could sometimes hear street noises despite being on a higher floor. During a snowstorm the movie system didn't work very well. (I'm reaching here....I really like this hotel and usually stay here when I'm in Niigata!)

Cons: Lack of English sightseeing brochure.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Last minute choice had stayed on other side at Ramada so wanted to try this side of station. Hotel was a bit' lack lustre'. Looked like it was occupying more space than it need to. Limited facilities in the room & was a bit drab & tired on the whole. The room was supposed to be 18sqm but I think they gave us a smaller room as very tight. Beds not the best no extra pillows or blankets & was a bit cold. parking rate very over priced considering you can park much cheaper nearby.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very closed to station The staff very helpfull and the breakfast
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. Extremely clean, comfortable and a good-sized room. TOTALLY WORTH STAYING AND WILL STAY AGAIN!!
