Breakfast was good; the room was comfortable if strangely decorated The fire alarm (practice?) which all but we seemed to ignore.
I liked the architectural style of this grand old hotel. The bar service was excellent. The staff was very helpful. The suite was not air conditioned and was somewhat stuffy with the windows closed. With the windows open, this particular suite was susceptible to the noise from the street and the casino. Other suites on the beach, east side would not have the problem of street or casino noise with open windows. Wifi reception on my computer was sporadic and was on a pay-as-you-go basis through Orange.
We came because of Proust and becuase my Father had always wanted to come here. The setting is beautiful. The Hotel does not make enough of its Atrium and the tables are around the edge without a defined area to sit and have coffee or a drink. The Breakfast would have been excellent if the coffee and hot water had been hot. The caftiere was not full so only two cups of coffee possible. The food in the restuarant was abominable. I mentioned this to the Front desk but they said nothing. We have eaten a many of Frances' top restaurants and have been coming to France since the 1950'S. We ate the meal only becuase we had not eaten all day. The food is incredibly expensive and just nonsense. The rooms are showing their age with paint bashed etc.
we had a four star room with fabulous seaviews, but 2 star service throughout the hotel. The hotel history seems to be what the hotel rests on which is not enough and very little attempt is made to enhance the experience. We were left feeling that it was our privelage to stay there and that there was no need to make any effort for the guests. The quality of the room luckily couterbalanced this. However, we would not return.
The service, the quality and variety of the food, the position, and the general feeling of being somewhere special. Nothing
The rooms were pleasantly decorated, spacious, and the bathroom had a really good shower. We paid extra for the breakfast when we booked. When we checked in this was not mentioned and we had to ask about the breakfast. At first they said we didn't have breakfast included, then they looked it up and acknowledged that it was in fact included. No big problem, but if we hadn't asked we wouldn't have been told where to go or any of the details.
We stayed here because of the Proust connection and were not disappointed. It is a grand old hotel that is absolutely beautiful. Staff was lovely and the breakfast was excellent. It is really, really expensive.
Very nice and confortable room in a great location The only missing service is clearly a pool!
The location of the hotel. Very easy to check in and out. No reserved parking for hotel guests coming by car. Expensive breakfast.
Still one of the very best locations in this part of the Norman seaside, including Deauville. The room on 1st floor was directly located above the dustbin and supply area . Very noisy supplying and discharging started 4:00 a.m.
Quite close to town.
Location, facilities, room with balcony, surrounding area.
At first we thought it was too far out of the town but it was an easy drive and quieter than a hotel in the town would have been. We liked the attic room tho' s lift would have been nice! Buffet breakfast was good if a bit expensive.. The restaurant was closed on the Sunday which was a nuisance. We had to make do with some food we had in the car as we did not want to go into the town to eat.
Large rooms for France. Recommend the restaurant open 1 hour earlier.
the pool and reception no
Stephanie was very helpful and pleasant
It was close to the tourist bureau and the main street and restaurants. The owner was rude. The room was tiny and we had difficulty moving around in it. Parking was very limited and full all the time we were there.
Location Room and bathroom tiny. Bed somewhat uncomfortable because plastic cover had been left on mattress. Breakfast struggled to be worth 8 euros and had just been increased to 10 euros.
This accommodation is particularly good for travellers with children. The Normandy Cottage is a big enough appartment for a small group of people. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. The swimming pool was nice and not too easy to access by the smaller children. The location is also very good, jus a few minutes walk from the beach. Big supermarkets were in a distance of only a few minutes drive. It is not clearly indicated that the reception is in La Closerie Côté Casino. There isn't even a note or anything saying this at the gate. The parking place is not quite big enough for all guest, although we managed to get our car in every night. We were staying for less than a week, but were not aware that the aparment was not serviced during that time, which was a bit problematic, as there was only enough washing agent to do the dishes just once. There was no washcloth either for the kitchen. So you have to bring them yourself.
kleinschaligheid van het complex. goed en veilig voor kinderen. no
Good Location, excellent Value
Good for kids, spacious rooms, facilities, pool Minor things: no chopping board, missing coffee-maker jug, blunt knives. Otherwise very well resourced.
We had a lovly family time during our stay here, the apartment was decorated lovly the apartment was so clean and new and for a family of 6 there was plenty of space! The apartments were beautiful! And the children loved the swimming pool! we stayed at the apartments so we drove to the gates and couldnt get in there was no signs to tell us that we had to check in at the hotel first and on our booking form there was no mention of this either.
Location and inclusive breakfast. We were given at first a very small room where TV did not work and wardrobe door almost inaccessible(too close to bed)Upgraded to larger room. There seemed to be a lack of attention to room maintenance-fixtures fell off wall ,loo paper location inaccesible.
Peaceful location - and moderate size of hotel meant it always seemed calm and relaxed.
Being allowed to take pets. Good choice of food in the restaurant
The hotel was very quiet. It is outside of the village but very close enough to be convenient.
Easy access to rooms no lifts or stairs needed, and the site was open , green, and airy. I was surprised there wasn't anywhere we could store our bikes securely, but was allowed to keep our bikes in our rooms. Asked for two twin rooms, was given one twin room and one double room, not good if you've got an all male group. Also the bath only had a shower hose would have liked a proper shower or at least a bracket to hang the shower hose on.
Decor and atmosphere were grim. Room was very small.
The hotel was a clean and tidy. The staff were friendly. The level of service at reception and the bar was not always up to standard and sometimes you had to go looking for attention.I felt the hotel was over priced on the room rate.
courtesy and friendliness of all the staff, especially on our arrival late and keeping the restaurant open for us to eat.
Easy parking, quiet location Under staffed, bar not open often and reception unmanned at times
Perfect hotel to explore the Normandy region together with the kids. The restaurant also proposes an excellent menu. The bathrooms need some improvements. Being next to the golf, it is very quiet.
A friendly, relaxed hotel in a very convenient location. Very good buffet breakfast and some helpful local information.
The staff made everything very easy to arrive by helping guide me on my travel by car to get to the location and also helped me in directions leaving for other events in the area of Normandy The parking was a little inconvient but it is because of the location of the hotel on the block.
The receptionist was really wonderful and I appreciated her advice and suggestions. I also liked the outside area at the back of the hotel It was further from the beach than I imagined from the description and also on busy traffic corner
Used as the base for a site seeing weekend in Normandy. Hotel owner was very nice. We slept very well.
The hotel is situated very close to the town centre, and on the main road going through the town so easy to find. Owner could not do anymore, excellent service. Will be back No secure car park
Clean and comfortable, easy to find. Very friendly staff. There should be something in the bathroom where you can put or hang your towel or/and personal belongings...
Very friendly welcome from Nok, the owner of the hotel. Very quiet night. Comfortable, clean room with stylish furnishings. Excellent continental breakfast. Good value. No
Tidy rooms, a more than friendly landlord (she even took us back to the train station when we were asking her to call us a taxi), good restaurants and the beach are less than 10 minutes away by foot.
spacy room, good few, very central, good breakfast
Please write at least 15 words Family owned hoitel. Really helpful, lovely location and excellent food.
Room given away on first night as we did not check in by 4! There needs to be something on website to warn you that they will do this if you do not tell them you will be arriving after 4. They did find us accomodation in another hotel.
Great ambiance, location, and staff (family)
A very friendly , family atmosphere. Lovely, helpful staff. Very clean hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good central location for the town and very handy for the beach, shops and restaurants. Fixtures, fittings and overall decoration of the Hostellerie needed updating, it generally had a tired feel to it.
the staff, the view and facilities in our first room, super breakfast, very good restaurant, perfect location for the beach because we booked late, we had to move to another room for one night - rear of hotel, no view, on top of kitchen, so cooking smells, cramped for three, with Z-bed for daughter!
It was a very quaint old building kept up and clean We were on the third floor and it was a small spiral staircase which was a little difficult with baggage.
A great little hotel,nice room,really excellent breakfast,good value & a very efficient Manager.
Even though the hotel was not on a main street it was quite noisy, i.e. garbage truck in morning, noise of restaurant below, loud motorcyles, etc._
