7.5 Good
Pros: The Room, views, the countryside.
Cons: Didn’t like the food at all far to fancy, foams it’s like cookoo spit all over your food. Main courses to limited need to have a choice of at least three mains. To rich to creamy. Maybe it’s me but I won’t be going back for the food.

Pros: Very warm welcome from the owner who recommended a excellent restaurant for our evening meal and provided a first class breakfast consisting of fresh fruits, homemade jams, cheeses, crossiants, fruit juice and coffee/teas in his own dinning room in fact far better than most 4 star hotels we have stayed in. Very easy to find and in a wonderful location safe parking inside locked gates at night will definitely use again

Pros: Lovely surroundings, excellent breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a lovely place, and lovely breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The type of property, having our own entrance and being self-contained. Good bathroom & separate toilet. Can't comment on the shower as we didn't use it. We thought the hot water must have been on a timer but it turned out there was a problem which our hosts were unaware of and we didn't mention it until we went to breakfast, so partly our fault too. Being ex-campers, we boiled a kettle & had a wash, problem solved!! Very nice Continental breakfast with home made preserves and lovely coffee!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location peaceful and relaxing breakfast served in the owners home with views to the countryside would highly recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great private accommodation with good parking. Spotlessly clean and everything you need for a stopover. Good wifi. Great breakfast. Friendly hosts. Nice quiet area. A good place to stopover on your way to or from Calais.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice people and nice environment. Very clean and tidy.
Cons: Water was only luke warm in the evening when we had a shower. As it was hot weather it didn't really matter. In the morning it was hot so fine? Maybe the water just cools down during the day so be aware.
Les Trois Fontaines - Hesdin - Building

9.2 Excellent (140 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Les 3 Fontaines in Marconne, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Belfry of Hesdin and Aquatic & Bowling Center. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have been making overnight stays here for over 20 years. It is all on the ground floor, has a lovely garden attached. Every room has its terser. Cafe service is available. The restaurant provides excellent cuisine at a reasonable price - €20-€30 - there is little to gaily. Flat screen tv, phone and tea making facilities in all rooms. Beds are king size and comfortable. Can’t
Cons: Can’t think of any criticisms! The WiFi is a bit unreliable and the toilet tissue is a long way from the toilet! Voilà!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated all on ground floor, not far to walk to car, very attractive garden to sit in if weather warm.
Cons: No complaints at all!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property was attractive with a lovely garden. Our room was spacious and very quiet. The breakfast was good. We ate our evening meal at the hotel which was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When I visit this part of France each year I always try and stay at least one night here. It is a place of beauty and tranquility, an afternoon reading in the garden utterly restorative. The evening meal is always excellent and good value. From here one can visit the Azincourt museum and the field of battle itself and imagine Henry V uttering Shakespeare's imaginary St Crispin's Day speech " . . . we few, we happy few, we band of brothers" . . . etc. A pleasant way to spend a morning when staying at Les Trois Fontaines. Another visit can be up the hill to the graveyard around the church where, hidden away, is a Commonwealth War Grave beside a French equivalent with men from WWI and WWII. A rarely visited war grave, I imagine, but worth an appetite-inducing saunter before an excellent dinner back at Les Trois Fontaines.
Cons: I found the shower base slippery when the shower gel had dripped on it. The addition of a non slip mat and grab handle would be a good idea.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and pleasant environment, relaxing. Food is great. Recommend.
6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was simple, but it was very good fresh coffee
Cons: Actually in our room, especially in bathroom it was a lot of damp and the owner should renovate the bathrooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance was lovely along with a first class meal and service
Cons: Nothing to dislike
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, lovely to have deck to sit in sun! evening meal excellent if a little expensive if not on set menu. Lack of hot water in one room dealt with swiftly by owner, thank you.
Cons: No shower curtain so wood in the shower area wet & consequently smelt.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet hotel, simple decor and good food.
Cons: Nothing not to like.

La Commanderie - Loison-sur-Créquoise - Building
7
9.5 Excellent (33 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host and fantastic breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wide choice of quality food with very good home made jams. Host was superb. Provided a great deal of helpful information and couldn't do enough for us With temperatures of 40 it was perfect to arrive to a cool house. Perfectly position for our visit to Montreuil and the towns spectacular of Les Miserables.
Cons: Wifi would have been good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where do we begin? The location is beautiful. The Building is totally special and the host Marie-Hélène is an absolute treasure! Sitting on a Mill race of the River Crequoise with a acre or two of lovely gardens the silence at night was a rare treat. We had a pique-nique on our second night on the the banks of the river with nobody else in sight, lovely warm evening. All this was possible because M-H allowed us to use the kitchen to prepare our food. Where else can you do that?! You can walk to a great Pizzeria in Beaurainville so good options for eating too.
Cons: Nothing could have been better except perhaps the neighbours keeping their Cockerel off the Commanderie's land!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good - croissants excellent along with varieties of cheese and jams. Marie Ellen was a very good hostess and ensured we had everything we needed. Lovely log fires in the evenings to keep us cosy. Also an added bonus was that we were the only people there for the three days which was wonderful. Also weather on Saturday and Sunday very sunny which added to the enjoyment. Granddaughter loved playing by the river.
Cons: The bedside light in the Double bedroom was too dim and the ceiling light without a proper shade made it difficult to read. Luckily portable night lights were around which meant I could read in bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is more like an old friend receiving us than a person who's doing her job. It was a pleasure to meet her and speak with her while she prepared wonderful breakfasts for us. This is one of the rare places where you still feel genuinely welcome, while also receiving much more than a hotel room; it's a huge super authentic room, in a cute picturesque house. This place certainly exceeded our expectations; it will receive a nice place in our memory! :-) Thank you so much!
Cons: It was amazing; nothing we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Position - we were able to go for a lovely 23k ramble straight from the property and friendliness of owner and facilities were excellent. Beautiful garden which we could sit in and watch the river whilst listening to the birds.

Cons: Nothing! I wouldn't change a thing.

Cons: Only the sofa. But to be honest I have a dodgy back.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the wild garden setting. Sat out in the evening sun enjoying watching the ducks on the pond. Breakfast was good and the owner attentive. We were able to make a drink in our room with a good selection of teas and coffee.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: a very private separate garden house with a small kitchenette in the most beautiful extensive garden with a lake. A choice of sitting areas outside the rooms - sadly it was raining so we couldn't enjoy this aspect! The hosts very friendly. The breakfast was adequate.
Cons: The towel I used felt slightly damp and not really fresh. No other complaints.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stop over, food amazing, great evening meal
7.5 Good
Pros: Rooms were bright and clean, good parking facilities
Cons: I originally made the booking because of the on site bar and restaurant, unfortunately we arrived after 7pm and needed to travel 10km to the next town to get a meal and a drink.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location for my visit to Hesdin. Easy to find and good parking facilities.
Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great for the tunnel, the restaurant breakfast was really nice especially the coffee which was very much needed! The room whilst small was adequate and nicely decorated. The owner was very friendly.
Cons: Restaurant was closed when we arrived which was to be expected, and there was nowhere local open to have anything hot to drink so perhaps a kettle and supplies in the room to make a hot drink could be supplied when restaurant is closed? This would have been very welcome after a long journey through France. Also the pillows were extremely hard and very thick, we had to remove them and sleep on our rolled up towels.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a small B&B run by Jérôme and his wife whose main activity is in fact their restaurant in the adjacent house, where they mainly serve lunchtime meals (as is usual in France). There are 2 Independent rooms with ensuite shower rooms (at ground floor level) overlooking the yard which is also the car park. Our room was modern, clean, simply decorated and comfortable. There is an efficient électric radiator which was welcome! It is in a quiet rural setting about 10 minutes Drive from Montreuil. We chose it on the strength of the reviews and hoping to have dinner there on the day we were travelling. However the restaurant was closed that saturday evening as the owners had been serving over 70 people at lunchtime. Fortunately I had established this before travelling by phoning Jérôme and he recommended 2 other local restaurants. We chose Le Bistrot Gourmand at Campagne les Hesdins only 5 minutes Drive away. We had an excellent meal there very reasonably priced. It is good to know that this restaurant is open every day and in the evenings. It was busy so best to Book in avance if possible. For breakfast on Sunday morning Jérôme went to fetch fresh baguette and croissant ! His coffee was very nice too! And he will serve you at the Time you want !
Cons: The description of places like that given on booking.com often lacks details. The restaurant is often closed on other evenings than those stated on the website, especially out of season ! It is best to check directly by phoning Jérôme who Can give you update and details. Be aware that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms and no shops in the village.
6.8 Good
Pros: Room was clean. Bathroom was modern. Nice spa shower. Only saw host at breakfast and he was courteous.
Cons: Room was very basic. Disappinted at size of accommodation. Shower cubicle was quite small made it hard to wash properly. Breakfast was disappointing. Had one croissant. 2 slices of French bread with jam/marmalade and one coffee with no milk. Milk was not even offered. Disappointed with breakfast as we read reviews and seemed like we would get more food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location in rural setting, very peaceful, bright bedroom decor & good bathroom. Parking good but not secure.
Cons: Breakfast was very basic but acceptable.

8.8 Excellent
Cons: Restaurant closed not mentioned on the web site
5.5 Okay
Pros: Rooms were clean and swimming pool was available. The grounds were nice and plenty of places to sit around.
Cons: We booked this last minute because it had a bar and restaurant. As soon as we arrived we were told the restaurant was closed. Not impressed as this place is in the middle on nowhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a return trip from our honeymoon 25 years ago and the place still has it's charm. It was good to go back and see that the place itself has not changed too much, in fact, has been improved with all the additional facilities.
Cons: When we first stayed over 25 years ago, the menu and food were excellent, it was like a high class restaurant. However, now I guess with a change of ownership the food is more like a regional Auberge style and the range and selection of dishes are quite different and not quite so extensive. Having said that though t was still very good and we would return.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic old building in a beautiful location a short distance, about 1.5 km away from local restaurants. The old abbey building with its cloisters with climbing roses was a delight. The room though basic was very clean with ensuite facilities. Breakfast was self-service and very good.
Cons: There was only one thin pillow each which didn't provide enough neck and back support. A noisy sit-on mower cutting lawns directly underneath our window woke us up at 7am.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Glorious gardens; exquisite setting, offering complete quiet in deepest countryside. It was fascinating to learn about the abbey and its fortunes over the centuries. We loved the courtyard. Our room had a beautiful view from the attic corridor, overlooking the gardens. We also enjoyed the meal we had in a local restaurant (Le Gros Tilleuil). Our room was comfortable, the bathroom spotless and the shower excellent. I would describe the furnishings as simple, friendly and slightly shabby-chic, very much in keeping with the place and its past as a monastery, and place of refuge for children. The email instructions for accessing our room on a Sunday afternoon worked perfectly; it seemed a very trusting sort of welcome. I like that! For us, travelling down from Worcester in the U.K., the location at just over an hour south of Calais was the perfect place to begin our holiday. Thank you. We would love to come again.
Cons: The pillows - I hadn't realised there were extras in the wardrobe, and I don't sleep properly with just one slightly lumpy pillow. My fault! The coffee for breakfast was indifferent - should have had tea instead.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance of the Abbet and the gardens.
Cons: Table cloths in the breakfast room need to be cleaned or replaced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pretty, quiet and peaceful. Clean room
Cons: Hard to find the location of breakfast. Signs or a map would be a good idea.

Pros: What an amazing, atmospheric place to stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very grand building without the frills but still fantastic value.
Cons: Liked everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from our bedroom over looking the gardens was amazing. The corridors, the beams, the chiming bell tower, the staff were very friendly, everything was just lovely, for us.
Cons: A lift would have been ideal. With lots of luggage the 3 flights of stairs were a little tiring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, unique place to stay. Full of charm and character.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful building. The rooms are up in the roof of the building with views over the formal garden. Big wooden beams everywhere. Basic shower and toilet (kettle also), basic breakfast, in a really beautiful place. I feel that the place hasn't changed that much in the last 200 years.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful and beautiful.
Cons: Tractors on narrow roads, though to be expected deep in the countryside.

Pros: Beautifully refurbished Château and lovely Emanuelle made us feel very welcome.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very romantic room and situation. Loved the place, very French with a great sense of the past. Good fresh continental breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunately there are no places to eat within walking distance but a fair few not far by car or taxi. Emmanuelle went out of her way to help us find somewhere and get us back from a night out.
